This place always hits the spot. They are super friends and service is very quick I don't think I've ever waited for more than 20 minutes before the food comes out. The food was good - the service from 2 separate servers was absolutely terrible. I ordered the Grande Fajita Burrito - Beans on the side. Food comes - I don't see beans on the plate. I ask the server if I could have the beans that come with my burrito - his reply - "Its only one scoop!" I was confused - and repeated my question - "May I have the beans that come with my burrito?" The server repeated - "Its only one scoop!" I thought there may have been a language barrier - but no - he understood what I was asking - and because it was only one scoop of beans - he was not going to bring the beans that came with my burrito; So, he repeated for a 4th time - "its only one scoop" - as if that qualified why I should be ok with not getting a part of the meal I paid for! What made the experience worse - my beans were not the only thing the server either forgot or just didn't want to bring to the table, But we wanted to order drinks, NOPE! - he didn't bring the Verde salsa, and when we a table of 5 asked for missing items - he showed in tone, facial expression, that he was irritated with our questions for the very things that came with our meals! I was seated immediately. I got water and a basket of chips with salsa. Some of the chips were very dark brown, overcooked. It's okay, I had plenty to eat. It took me longer to look over the menu because I thought I would get something different but I didn't, I got the fajita. I ordered the chicken fajitas lunch special and it was not the regular size. Went in for my birthday and was also Taco Tuesday. I use to enjoy going here but we will start going elsewhere from now on. All 4 of us felt great until later in the day and then everyone was sick with stomach issues all at the same time. We all had pretty much the same thing. Plus had other issues. Arrived to an almost empty restaurant. Asked for a booth since we have an autistic child who will try and move around the restaurant in a regular chair. 1st man sitting us said there was none available despite giving details and sat us directly beside a large corner booth with no other people sitting in the section. 2nd person taking order gladly moved us to the booth but then they all started speaking in Spanish so who knows what they were saying. Now to the food. We got the 4 tacos for $5 and they wasn't special at all. Shells tasted old and had a burnt stale taste to them. Meat wasn't very hot. Also got the ACP that is supposed to have cheese sauce on it but that was nonexistent. Had to use Queso we got and paid extra for. The Queso wasn't great either it tasted watered down and had absolutely no flavor to it. Salsa was ok. Chips were hard and stale. Drinks were good though. It's right by the HMart. Ordered guacamole dip, enchilada a la carte with chicken, red sauce, 3 chicken tacos a la carte with onions and cilantro and a guacamole dip. The hot and mild salsa mixed is okay. The corn chips are thick and are also just ok. The guacamole isn't fresh. Looked like it came out of a tube in fact and was doctored up with some cilantro and that's about it. The tacos come with shredded chicken, onion, cilantro and green onion too. The chicken tacos were so-so. The enchiladas might be one of the worst I have ever eaten. It's the sauce. It tastes like it came out of a huge vat or can. It reminds me of a bad tomato soup that comes with grilled cheese. The chicken inside with the green pepper and tomatoes isn't too bad. The whole thing as a whole is disappointing. The amount of chicken inside the enchilada is quite sparse as well. I gutted the enchiladas since the sauce wasn't so pleasant and I was done after one bite. The chicken inside is barely enough for two small morsel or bites even. The waiter took back the bad guacamole. He asked if we wanted more chips and we haven't seen him for a while now. We had to ask a 2nd time for more chips. You have to pay up at the front. They charge ~$7 a bag for their chips for carry out order. The salsa is additional as well. read more

Food taste like plastic that been frozen in freezer too long, and found a hair in my food. The drinks taste like watered down even the margaritas! Service is awful- the staff is extremely rude and I witnessed some people got turned away due to being a plus size and the staff wouldn't accommodate for them. Another post surgery visit that was scrumptious! Just a few days after dining in began again we stopped and tried the pork tamale, chili relleno, burrito, chori queso , and the guacamole. Everything was hot, fresh, and made to order. I ordered my tamales with red sauce. I wasn't a fan of the red sauce, but the tamale was tender and moist, and so good. I had the cheese chili relleno, and even though the chili was super mild, it still had a great flavor. I met a group of friends for dinner here. It's hard to have really bad Mexican. We had great service even though we were a large group. It is a fairly easy place to find and there is tons of parking. The drinks are great and decently priced. They don't skimp on the alcohol even if you are not paying for top shelf. One margarita is basically plenty for most. The chips and salsa are good. The cheese dip is good. However it is kind on thin. Which makes dripping easy. The meal was quite good. Not super exciting but nothing bad. It came out exactly like it was described on the menu. Though it would have been nice to have more tortillas. I also had to wait a bit while they brought out the corn tortillas that I had asked for instead of the standard flour. I'd give them a 3.5 but I chose to round down. I had the shrimp and chicken fajitas and had asked for very very light onions and there were still too many, but the fajitas were still pretty tasty. Their salsa was good and a bit on the hot side, which was fine with me. The guacamole (on side) was kinda lame, that was disappointing! The service was very good and seemed very clean. Absolutely love this place I go just about once a week now every thing is amazing from their taco arnadas to their fajitas or their chile verde. Lately I've enjoyed their Choripollo the mushrooms are a definite must. The staff is amazing they are incredibly friendly and helpful when things are difficult to pronounce on the menu or if you have any dietary restrictions ( my girlfriend is celiac ). The music is very charming and sets a wonderful atmosphere of a little mexican restaurant. The plates are always hot and the food is delicious. The salsa makes the restaurant just that much better with beautiful blended flavors and just a little kick and the warm chips complement the salsa as if they are in love. I recommend the horchata its so refreshing and goes well with everything on the menu and its non alcoholic when you need to drive. I also recommend Margarona as well its a fun drink. read more

This place is awful!!!! Do not go here unless you are okay wasting your money to deal with completely rude staff and management!!!! My mom ordered the lunch special - Speedy Gonzalez w one taco and an enchilada. The taco had only cheese and beans and no lettuce so we asked them to add lettuce to the taco per the menu description. The staff barely spoke English. Brought over an entire plate of lettuce and said it will be $1 extra. Then the manager shows up and was rude to us and took the lettuce plate away and no one came back to serve us the rest of our lunch. When we paid the bill at the counter the manager refused to make eye contact with us and we were still considerate enough to leave a tip. I said bye and told him that he doesn't need to be rude. And he proceeds to tell us we can leave and that lettuce is not free. Yes perhaps if the actual taco had any lettuce on it in the first place. Ruined my entire meal given that I am visiting my parents from chicago and we literally could have gone anywhere but chose this local spot. Went here for lunch this week. I had been here before Covid and the food was good. Well, that was then and this is now. Chips and salsa were fine but everything after that was a disappointment. Ordered a chicken enchilada and burrito lunch special with a tamale side. The sauce on both the enchilada and burrito was canned sauce. Not good. The chicken was blah, flavorless, and exactly the same in both the burrito and the enchilada. There was no difference between the items except the size. The beans were ok but a bit runny. Went here for dine in service today for lunch shortly after coronavirus reopening. Great service and simple to follow social distancing procedures with every other table marked off with subtle yellow caution tape. They even sell masks at the front near the hand sanitizer station if you forgot to bring one!!! On a non-corona note, really good food with nice refried beans, refreshing red salsa, and warm chips. I got the fajita lunch special and was pleasantly surprised to learn they serve way more meat than veggies. Some things I just can't wrap my head around. The popularity of the Kardashians. Quantum physics. Cutting someone off only to slam your brakes and make a right. Why anyone gives El Patio more than one star. The food here is just bad. The meats are low quality (fatty/gristly) and dry. The sauces are generic store brand, with absolutely no flavor or spice. We ordered about six different items from the menu and it was confirmed that the three of us weren't satisfied with any of it. Even the tortillas were crap. How do you screw up tortillas? It's not like this was an off-day. It's obvious this is just the food they serve people. Additionally, service was disappointing. The server had a detrimental language barrier, and he was absent for most of our meal so there were no water refills and we had to flag him just to get our bill. Troy, you deserve better. read more

The three of us were there on a Thursday, around 5. The place had only a few customers. We had drinks and ordered fresh guacamole. It was far from fresh. The hot sauce was very good. The enchiladas didn't have any taste and was buried under lettuce, tomato and radishes. The enchilada sauce tasted like heinz 57, mixed with other things. We were overcharged for 2 drinks. They fixed it when it was brought to their attention. The waiter was nice enough. The food came out in a timely fashion. Maybe they were having an off night. It was my first time there. This place used to have me under its charm but after my most recent visit I don't think I'd ever think twice about dining here again. The warm chips and delicious salas were good as usual but that's about where it ends in my book. We ordered the chicken quesadilla rellana and a nachos that had beef, chicken, and beans but I'm forgetting the name. The quesadilla was approximately 4in, wasn't cut, and was so watery that the entire bottom part of it was soggy and disgusting. We didn't even eat it because no one wants uncut, watery, and sogged out quesadillas. The nachos had an easy 1/2in of liquid collected on the bottom of the plate that sogged out that entire layer of chips (1/2 of the order was garbage because of this). Because the food here is so inexpensive we didn't want to complain or send it back we simply asked for extra chips to eat the toppings of that second layer of soggy nachos with and the waiter completely flipped out and said that we can't have anymore chips and if we didn't like the food to send it back when it came out. Needless to say, we won't ever be dining at this place anymore. Only saving grace is the chips and salsa but even that isn't enough to bring me back. Too bad we were so irritated and disgusted with everything that we walked out before I remembered to take photos of the hot mess they call Mexican food. read more

My son and I decided to get a carry-out for dinner from this place. We were trying it for the first time. The server barely greated us and it felt as though we were just an inconveinience since we were not dining in. It took longer than expected, but I was hopeful the food would make it worth the wait. Anyways my son found a piece of plastic wrapper in his burrito so we were leary of what else could be in our burritos that shouldn't be.
