Booked three ocean front suites for a long weekend with family but received only two plus one "ocean view" (gave a view of the pool). Complained to the desk upon check in, and to the desk and the reservation manager for the next two days without a response of apology (or a refund). In fact they never provided the receipts for the rooms despite repeated requests, not the receipts for the other charges incurred. No response from anyone on any issue to any of the family guests. The staff and the managers are pleasant but are irresponsible idiots that could not make it in a fast food joint. Stayed at the hotel and this restaurant was SLOW and understaffed the entire time. After two overpriced meals, we had enough! We loved this hotel.....I was there about a year ago. It's more north, away from the "elite," loud, young, Kim Kardashian type culture. (not my thing) There is a very pleasant mix of people here....business professionals, foreigners, and older people. It's slower and quiet. There's an amazing Italian restaurant down the street called Cafe Ragazzi (we went to Prime 112 the night before and actually preferred this restaurant) and a great Irish pub close by. The hotel is gorgeous. There's a nice Espresso Bar inside with wonderful macarons, great beachside service. It's a great place to stay. Room service was very good too. That's hard to come by in hotels. We were actually terrible (needy) guests....and they accommodated us so well. lol I still smile at the great memories that we have there. Check in-we were assigned to room 861 upon arrival. We get up to the room with luggage and bellman (who's service was OUTSTANDING! THANKS Al.. only to be told in a very rude way by workers in the room that we could not check in to that room. Apparently they were working on the window which was broken. Not a good first impression after having traveled from Nashville to Fort Lauderdale on a very rough flight then taking a rough shuttle ride that was driven by the BATMAN in what seemed like a car chase scene for 30mins!! to Grand Beach Surfside. We had to go back to the counter which Al apologized for even though it wasn't his fault, led us to. There were two ladies at the front desk. One never even looked up to acknowledge us. Rude. The other seemed to be clueless to when Al informed her that she had assigned us to a defective room. Instead we were assigned to Room 961 and given complimentary drink tickets for house sangrias which were watered down. Nice gesture I suppose but would have been nicer if there wasn't a restriction on the complimentary beverage. Room-overall nice appearance and spacious. TV had exceptional quality for watching the NBA playoffs. Did like the fact that we had two bathrooms. Did not like that the balcony lacked privacy...AND I DO MEAN NO PRIVACY! the room next to us, if someone was staying there if they wanted to could just climb over the lil divider and be up in our room....I'M BIG ON SECURITY so that didn't set well with me at all!!. I did however love the view of the beach in the mornings, sunset etc. They did send a bottle of champagne to our room for our anniversary! that was really kool! The Balcony bar (BY FAR MY FAVORITE THING ABOUT THIS HOTEL) was AWESOME with ample seating, great vibe and even greater bartenders! Wish i could remember his name but this bartender made me the best Long Island tea I've ever had! the view of Surfside was nice and just overall nice place to hang out before you go out or chill when you come back from a night out. Negatives-housekeeping. They seem to have been lazy. The second bathroom had a musty stale like smell even after they so called "cleaned" our room. We had to ask for extra small towels becuase we had ran out and they had not replaced them. We were left with three big towels supposedly cleaned but they had hairs in them. It was really gross! I tossed them out for housekeeping to replace. Our bed linens were also not the cleanest. I had to dust the sheets everytime it was time to lay down in them. Check out-charges matched on the receipt so that was a good thing. However, housekeeping came to our door THREE times beginning at 9am That was annoying. If the check out time for guests is noon there is NO reason for housekeeping to be knocking on the door whatsoever. Overall-the breakfast buffet was good. There was an African American lady from Chicago that worked there who can cook her ass off!! Made the best omelet I've EVER HAD!!! wish i knew her name to say thank you! it tasted like mama's :)! The food & drink prices were expensive especially room service. The bellmen out front were always pleasant and courteous. So was the omelet lady and the restaurant workers. Very courteous. We paid a lot of money for our short stay and I honestly do not feel we got what we paid for, However take into consideration that this hotel location is still fairly new, with so much potential! With that being said i would give them another shot maybe in a year or so. read more

Booked this stay a long time ago for when I get off of a cruise. Big mistake! No wash rags for 3 days in a row Bc of supply shortage (but when you pay 2000$) there should be no shortage. Housekeeping took 3 hours to bring towels to wash off with.. Also, my car got hit in valet!!!!!!!!!!!! It was just one thing after another. Hotel LOOKS great. Great pool, beach access. We had a great stay. Rooms are big suites with a balcony. The reason we give 3 reasons instead of 4 or 5 is due to a few things that can be improved. Room smelled mouldy when we arrived No water in the rooms No room service food after 10pm Pool is not great Serving red wine in plastic glasses at the bar???? Let me start by saying this should really be 3.5 stars. The beach attendants seem lazy in the afternoon. Told us they weren't putting out any more chairs or umbrellas. Meanwhile there were people out on the beach. It appeared they had just put away several chairs bc of a rain storm and didn't want to undo their work now that the sun was out. Soured my wife and I and ruined the remainder of that day. Most of the time they were okay. They should also be taking drink orders at your chairs. You shouldn't have to walk half way off the beach to tell them your order. The food was overpriced for the quality. It was mediocre and when on vacation you want great food. The main bathroom sink wouldn't drain in our room and it appeared as if one of the seals on the Fiji water bottles was tampered with in our mini bar. The issues were resolved quickly and efficiently. That said, the overall stay was extremely relaxing and exactly what we were hoping for. The front desk staff was attentive and the concierges were nice and knowledgable. After 8 days of being lied to our face we finally received an email from Valeria Guillamondegui who apparently suffers from amnesia because she did agree that the hotel overcharged us by $816 due to an error... but completely forgot that she told us that the resort fees and taxes were included in the booking.com reservation. We have it in writing but that is not enough. This was the most horrendous travel experience in my over 40 years of traveling. I can only hope you will trust my review and run in the opposite direction when considering this 'dump' as your next trip. The service and behavior of the front desk staff left such a bad taste. I have never been more aggravated in my life. I should have listened to the many negative reviews I read before but decided not to. I hope you won't do the he same mistake. Save yourself a lot of frustration and aggravation. There are many more resorts around the same area that can't be as bad. They are nothing but a bunch of crooks and scam artists. P.s. the sheets in our bed had pee stains on them. So we're now on day 11 of checking out and being scammed out of our money without a phone call or email from anyone to update us on the status. Last we heard from Valeria Guillamondegui we were told that they realized they overcharged us and we should see a refund soon.... how soon I guess we'll never know because as I mentioned no call back since. However, in order for your response to be accurate the least you could have done was to contact me directly to hear my part of the story rather than basing your words on what your team just told you. Let's make one thing very clear which I'm sure Valeria guillamondegui failed to mention is that not once we disputed the extra food and beverages that we consumed on your property, our complaints were for a double charge for 3/2 which was allegedly refunded (yet to see it on our statement) and the resort fees of $28 per day and 11% daily taxes which were clearly included in the booking.com reservation but were still charged to our account. That's the only additional charge we were disputing. What makes it even more frustrating is that when we confronted Valeria guillamondegui 2 weeks ago before we checked out she guaranteed that these extra fees would be removed. I'm assuming she 'forgot' to mention the very clear email my wife sent her showing exactly what was agreed and confirmed by herself but then again I didn't expect her to remember such an insignificant point... Bottom line is that your 'manager' lied to us just to get rid of us and once we left she changed her story and kept lying to us and apparently to you too just to make us look bad. She promised her boss would call me Monday, my mistake was not to ask her what Monday since we're 5 days past Monday; I'll take responsibility for that. I should have known better. At one point she 'dumped' the responsibility on your accounting department saying that they would follow up in regards to the extra fees and taxes but obviously that did not happen either. I have emails confirming my points should you care to see proof... Please give me a call at your convenience and I'll be happy to explain exactly what it is that we're still owed which has nothings to do with food and beverages that we consumed and paid for. I have had terrible customer service trying to book a room. No one will give you a direct number to anyone in reservations, you're bounced around an 800 # and answering service. I also sent several emails and never heard back and left several messages with the front desk to get in touch with reservations with no response. Wet carpet, black mold, and sorry for the "inconvenience" I arrived at 11 PM and departed at 8:30 AM. When I woke up around 7 AM I walked to the bathroom and was greeted by a soppy, wet carpet. On my bare feet. GROSS. I called the front desk to let them know. I took pictures, got ready and checked out. I sent the pictures to the front desk woman who "apologized for the inconvenience" and told me she would bring this immediately to the manager's attention. She confirmed my two email addresses on file and my phone number. I even told her I was going to get a cup of coffee and sit in the restaurant for the next 20 minutes in case someone wanted to...you know... reach out to me. I wish I could give this hotel less than one star. I don't think it deserves any. We came for a week and were told during check in that the pool has been reserved for a private event for the entire week. No one though it was necessary to notify guests during bookings or anytime before their arrival. It is beyond explanation how the hotel can justify having their guests pay full amount for the busiest time of the year while renting out the pool for a private function. The guests staying at the hotel were flabbergasted. In addition, the overall service provided is rude and inconsistent. It is like they are doing us a favor by letting us come here. Had to call housekeeping 3 times, waited from 5 pm to 9 pm to get extra towels and hangers. After the 4 hour wait was told I have to pay extra to use the hangers. The elevator of the main building was not working most of the time. I had to walk up 13 flights of stairs with my kids to get to the rooftop. This happened multiple times during the stay. read more

Pro: I got a deal from Jetsetter for ocean-view king suites. Nice and friendly staff. Not crowded. Fast valet parking services, welcome drinks. Cons: $35/day valet parking (and it really is the only parking option in the area), beach chairs are $10/each, wifi service is spotty. While the location should earn the hotel more stars we were disappointed by a number of things which I will highlight while standing in the hallway waiting to have my room cleaned at 2:45pm. We were woken every morning by 930 including this morning by the cleaning staff as we were every morning despite the hotel clearly being more of a resort than a business type hotel. We enjoyed the beach which is secluded but didn't like having work hard for the staff to notice us to place our order. Our food once it did arrive was cold and average quality. The pluses are the location near bal harbour, myriad of easy eating places and not even two blocks from both publix and Starbucks. I may return simply that it was a lower priced options than other places in the area but my friend said no more. read more

I last stayed at the grand beach hotel on 48th and this one is surfside is just as good if not better, situated in a much better place than the one on 48th because there are stores very close like publix and liquor stores etc, I'm glad I chose to stay here and I knew it wouldn't fail me, Abigaïl is so helpful and really nice I hate that she is leaving but I wish her the best in all her future endeavours, she is such a sweet girl #TeamTaurus I'd also like to shout out both Frederico's and my main man Benjamin for being so helpful and holding good conversation with me and my family, on arrival we was upgraded to an ocean view so thanks for that Kaitlyn. read more

This is one of my favorite hotels I have ever stayed at. Close enough to South Beach for night life, but far enough for a classier day time experience. This hotel was fantastic. The rooms were beautiful, with 2 bathrooms and showers! The lobby is beautiful and smells memorizing when you walk in. Their is a delicious gelato bar, and multiple pools including a roof top with a beautiful view. We were given a free welcome drink, free wifi , and free chairs at the beach ! Love the fact that they served you on the beach! Pedro is fantastic, request him! The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because the food was not 5 star quality. Everything Is close enough and recommend walking then eating at hotel due to high prices and not the best food. Everything else was a 10 though. I look forward to my return! read more

At first when we checked into the hotel everything was normal as we stay in 4-5 star hotels often, the sky bar bartender was very nice and made very good drinks! However everything started going downhill in the evening, us and other guest were kicked out of the jacuzzi and not in a hospitality standard manner at all. We heard the security guard that has his headphones in during the whole shift cursing out the other guest and yelling at them. The breakfast is obviously overpriced for what it is but usually that doesn't bother us, only it took the server 30 min to take our order. Most staff members are rude and inconsiderate. When we got late checkout the front desk charged us and did not even activate our key so we were locked out of our room in swimsuits and in a hurry to check out. All and all if you want good service do not stay here, the only good part was our room and the photos you can take at this hotel pools during sunset and sunrise . Do not recommend, stay in Como if you want better service for less! read more

The new and up-scale "Grand Beach Hotel" is the definition of luxury with its superb suites, service, restaurants, and amenities. It has a modern-contemporary style, finished with beautiful white marble, and elegant décor. The chic rooftop pools are simply pristine with its distinctive design. Also, there are cabanas and seating areas to relax and enjoy the warm Miami breeze. Not to mention the stunning private beach. Also, there is a wonderful café that features many delicious breads, espresso, and my favorite, gelato. There is also a mini boutique store next to the café. To add, there are amazing exercise centers, restaurants, and concierge; and the whole hotel has a pleasant aroma of coconuts and flowers that brighten up your day. Also, the beds are so comfy! In my opinion, this is the most luxurious hotel on Miami Beach. read more

We booked a room with a king-sized bed and an ocean-front view. Upon check-in, we were told that we could not use the beach during our first night because of a private party. We went up to our room, and we saw several stains throughout the room--on the couch, on a chair, on tables, on the floor, etc. We also noticed that the lock on the front door did not work. We complained to the front desk, and three employees soon came to our room. They tried to get us to stay in the room by fixing the door lock and sweeping the balcony, but the stains remained, so we requested another room. About one hour later, we went to our new room. The new room was clean, but it had a smaller balcony, and the electricity was not turned on in half of the room. We had paid many hundreds of dollars extra to have an ocean view, but palm trees blocked our view of the ocean, and because of the private party, we could not use the beach until the second night. Upon check-out, we were charged a resort fee, but that fee for the first night was waived after we complained about not being allowed to access the beach. Although the second room was clean, the first room was the dirtiest hotel room in which I have ever stayed in my entire life, and it certainly gave me a negative impression of the hotel. In addition, the beach had trash on it, and the hotel was not close to downtown or other areas of Miami. This hotel was not worth the money. In retrospect, I should have paid for a different hotel. read more

Poor customer service. Apparently they get enough business it's not important to provide excellent service to everyone. I was given misinformation about pool closure. I wrote an two emails that were never responded to. The website did not post winter pool hours. Other patrons were heard debating with guest services over rooms not being ready in time. There were two people helping check in on a Friday night. Extremely disappointed and would not recommend considering the price and fee gouging. Heads up it will be $44 a day to park and $28 resort fee for not much as far as amenities are concerned. Hotel manager didn't bother to respond to our concerns until review was posted. My friends and I were so excited to stay at this hotel but the customer service was all very rude. The concierge couldn't even look us in the eye, we had to call housekeeping 3 times to get our room cleaned, and the front desk told us we couldn't access our balcony which we paid extra for. We came here as a weekend getaway to relax after a long year. We left the kids at home for this one. My wife booked it so I assumed we would be staying at south beach but was pleasantly surprised when I discovered we were not. I believe this area is called Bal Harbour. It is not as crowded as south beach. It is much more laid back which is exactly what we needed. The rooms are beautiful. Ours came with 2 bathrooms (his and hers) that worked out well. Our room looked out over the pool and beach and we drank coffee every morning in the balcony. There are 3 pools on the property and 4-5 hot tubs. This hotel seems to do a really good job at catering to both the adult crowd and to families. I've never been to hotel that seemed to find this balance like this one. It is family friendly but at the same time there are adult only spots to escape the little ones such as the rooftop pool/bar that affords a great view of the beach and beautiful water below. In addition to the beach there is also a nice running/walking trail that runs parallel the beach and allows you to stretch out your legs in the morning. The service here is great. From the hotel cafe to the guys out by the beach and pool. They are all very friendly and go out of their way to make sure the guest are liked after. There are great restaurants within walking distance and high end shopping close by (Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue) if you want some fashion choices. It's a very international scene here and you'll here different languages. I like that. As far as other stuff to do I couldn't tell you as we came here with the intention of relaxing on beach and by the pool. Mission accomplished! Let me start by saying this was a wedding weekend for me, so schedule was very important. Because of my experience at this hotel, not only will I never stay here again, but I will never stay in a hotel in Florida again. I was treated like an inconvenience here. My positive experiences with hotel staff are solely with the door guys and valet drivers. - I reached out to concierge prior to my stay, via phone and through the website, multiple times. No response. - Check-in is supposed to be 4... didn't get it until almost 4:30... at which point I personally had to force the cleaning staff out of the room before they were finished. (I was comped my resort fee because of this, but only for one day.) - The valet is poorly managed. We waited outside, were told we had to pay inside (unknown), then the wait inside was so long we ended up having to Uber. This was over 15 minutes of wait time just trying to get the bride and groom to their rehearsal dinner... simply unacceptable. - After having to get ready in less than 15 minutes because of my late check-in, I come back to a room without working AC. I have been traveling, I have not even had time to shower, all I want to do is sleep, and the front desk says I have to wait for an engineer. I LOST MY MIND. I went to the lobby and was definitely not quiet or kind about my experience. The manager at the desk threatened to have me removed from the hotel because I was causing a disturbance... The lobby was practically empty. I broke down in tears from a combination of lack of sleep, stress, and anger. He was horrible, but the door guy that helped me move to a new room (wish I remembered his name) was so kind. - Small in comparison... but I asked for coffee at the little bakery one morning and the staff acted confused and said they had to check in the back. They ended up having it, but it took 15 minutes for a single cup of coffee. And the cups are the cheap flimsy ones, so I didn't even make it to the door before it sprung a leak and spilled all over me. I went back to get a new one. Did the staff apologize and offer to top off the cup? Nope. Just dumped it in a fresh cup and handed it back to me with no comment. I even had to ask for a fresh lid. Even if this is the cheapest hotel in the area (which it better be), splurge and stay somewhere decent. Trust me. read more

We had a reservation with this hotel. Last minute we had a loss in our family and I asked if they can reschedule our bookin. There was nobody kind enough to understand the desperate position we were in. We couldnt attend our reservation and simply asked they should reschedule for a later date. Im not one to write reviews for bad expirences, I mostly write the highlights of my experiences at hotels and vacations. Therefore let me start with the positive. Our room was a good size, fairly clean and the pool and proximity to the beach were the best. That being said, fees ,fees ,fees and additional charges everywhere. Need a hair band? its there, face mask? Its there, need wipes? Its there 3$ for the hair band, 5$facemask, 8$wipes and the list goes on. Down to 7$ "boxed water". BTW 48$ valet parking. Lobby, pool area, outdoor spaces all CLOSED by 9pm. Be ready to be followed around by security to clear out all areas by 8:30pm which lets be honest truly annoys those of us that enjoy sunsets and just enjoying the outdoor. Cleanliness is not their strong suit. I had to reach for my phone under the bed, scariest moment of my life that floor has not been vacuumed in at least 6 months. I had to use one of the robes while I dried my hair, and lord a behold the pockets of the robe were filled with napkins. I was so disgusted I had to shower again. God knows since when do they just re-hang that ribe without washing it. All in all the only positive was the beach and even that was a dissapointment because as we know the beach has been filled with seaweed. Oh almost forgot. Resort fees are basically for one pool towel which you have to get a the coffe stand inside the lobby, no beach chairs or umbrella so good luck frying yourself at the beach without anywhere to sit or get shade. I dont mind paying for good service and resorts but this was a joke in my opinion. read more

The power was out in my room. I kept calling for 4 hrs and no one came to fix it. They started to ignore my calls and when I went to the front desk they were very rude and mean. Extremely racist. I guess don't come here at all if you're a person of color. read more
