I came here the day after Thanksgiving and wanted to give it a try with my family. The place was completely empty and only one server was working. I get it - it's right after the holidays so staffing could be short. The server we had wasn't exactly enthusiastic, just did the bare minimum. Dishes piled up and we weren't asked about refills. You'd figure because there was only 1 group that the service would be attentive, but nope! The food that we ordered from the kitchen were all super fresh and delicious. My favorites were the bulgogi gimbap, eggroll (tiny rolled egg omelette), and chicken wings! They come out super hot - loved them all. The hot buffet bar was not filled at all, some were even just empty. I found it disappointing that we didn't get to try a lot of their items. The hot buffet bar was really scarce, I mean, just fried dumplings and fries but they were refilled really slow and some never had refills. The boba bar was empty and never filled. The DIY ramen station was closed off. I tipped only because I felt like I had to, but the service was abysmal. I would come back but maybe for lunch instead of dinner. I'm so glad that I finally got to try sweet pot! It's so great to try a bunch of foods that you normally wouldn't order at non ayce places. I think for the experience the price was well worth it! I recommend you upgrade and do the 28.45 dinner portion as you have full access to the menu. Korean AYCE restaurant located in Sugar Land was quite interesting. It's a clean and fun vibe with friendly server. Actually, I visited on a weekday during lunch and there's only one sweet server who handled all the tables by himself. Plenty of parking. Food was okay but for the price, I am not mad. Great for teens and 20s. No halal options for those who can only eat halal. Thought I should tell you since there's a good amount of halal restaurants in Sugar Land. I highly recommend to get their Korean fried chicken, skip the creamy onion sauce unless you're obsess with onions. We went for AYCE lunch and our waiter explained that we can do both: ordering from the menu (those with orange dots are only available for dinner) or going around and picking up items (Korean pizza, japchae (very yummy), corn, corn dog (it was okay), candied yucca, twisted potato, fried dumplings, variety of soup, fruits, pickled vegetables). They also have a ramen bar, fridge of drinks with jellies, tea, and bing su (shaved ice). If you want soup, get a bowl, fill it up with rice cakes, noodles, veggies, seafood, dumplings, etc. Afterwards, tell your waiter/waitress which soup flavor you want. We tried the sweet original and my friend said it tastes more like Tabasco. I tried the coconut seafood and it was bland to me. Next time I'll try the other flavors. This is the best Korean buffet. It's similar to a hotel buffet, but it's actually a restaurant. They have soups, food on the bars, fish cakes on sticks, ramen, boba, rice, and teas. I really enjoyed trying different Korean dishes from the bars. I wouldn't mind coming here again, and I would recommend it for both small and large groups. Just make sure not to eat breakfast too early, as you can skip it and save room for the buffet. The service is excellent, and Harding works hard by himself. What a fun place to enjoy different flavors of hot pot. Normally, I'd rather have hot pot at home because I can choose my own ingredients from the grocery store and my own hot pot base (Little Sheep Mala hot pot soup base is my go to). But, this spot is quite fun. We tried the OG TTeokbokki hot pot, Seafood hot pot, and Mala hot pot. I will say my favorite is the Mala Hot Pot. Not quite fully the flavor of Mala, it still satisfied my Mala fix. It wasn't very spicy, but it had that numbing quality to it. I enjoyed the ramen noodles, fried tofu, and fish cake that I placed into my Mala hot pot. Next time, I'm not putting tteokbokki into my hot pot since it didn't absorb much of the Mala flavor. I may want to try the cream Mala hot pot next time. That might be fun. Customer service was great. They cleaned our table frequently and took orders for more food when we asked. Overall, I think this spot is a 3.5 stars because the pre-made food outside of the hot pot wasn't that tasty. PS - another tip is to not order hotpot for everyone. I'm also ecstatic that you can order it to go, along with other delicious set meals. For the dine in options the buffet is a solid deal! Something like $30ish per person, with all you can eat made to order dishes like tteokbokki pots and gimbop meat dishes. We tried the rose tteokbokki and it was quite yummy! You can go to the self serve area and choose all the fixings you want to go in the stew and they cook it for you in the back. I just wish they had some kind of hot plate at the tables to keep it warm. Another fav is the boba fridge. Because who doesn't love an all you can drink boba option. So many other options in the self serve area, some good, some not so good since some items don't do well sitting out buffet style (the fried things weren't very crispy anymore). But that's really the only gripe about this place. There's so much other foods to eat it's easy to just ignore the less appetizing stuff. The staff is super friendly and helpful as well! I found this place trying to exit out of a shopping center and decided to try it. We came around 7pm on a weekday and we were seated immediately. The place is clean and parking is plentiful. I love the concept of the choose your own soup base but the noodle option was very limited. Nonetheless, I opted for the seafood broth with the ramen noodles and once you add your fixings to the bowl, you send the bowl off to the kitchen for them to cook it for you. I first like to highlight the stellar customer service. The owner and waitress were really good at accommodating my food sensitivities. I was able to have the seafood soup. I chose my own ingredients and they cooked it in the kitchen. There were items on the buffet line that looks amazing as well. The interior decorations are trendy and has a nice modern vibe. There is a pretty wide array of Korean-syle foods - pizza, soup, hotpot, instant noodles, desserts, teas, drinks, etc. Weekday lunch is $18.45 while weekend is $20.45. Kids under 3 eat free and under 10 is $9.99 (for lunch). You get 90 minutes to eat (although we went over and no one said anything, but it was also not very busy). Unfortunately, to me to food was OK. Certain things were tastier than others, but given the price and the fact that it's AYCE, it's definitely reasonable, at least for lunch. The buffet section was extremely disappointing. The selection seemed much smaller than before, and the food looked very dry, old, and barely replenished. Portions were tiny, and there was honestly nothing worth taking from the buffet. I ended up just standing there wondering what I was supposed to eat. The food coming from the kitchen was just as bad. Everything took an unusually long time, even though there were only three tables in the entire restaurant, including mine. The server even brought out a dish I never ordered. By the time anything arrived, I was already too full from waiting. And when the food finally came out, it was honestly shocking. Most of the dishes had absolutely no flavor. The only thing that was somewhat decent was the kimbap. I ordered tangsuyuk, and I genuinely have no idea what they served me -- it took over 30 minutes and didn't resemble what I ordered at all. I also brought ingredients from the buffet for tteokbokki and asked for a bulgogi-style flavor, but what I received was a watery, completely unseasoned dish that tasted like nothing. Overall, it was such a disappointing experience. The food was terrible, the wait was unbelievably long, and it felt like a complete waste of money. I honestly wish I had walked out before ordering drinks. I definitely won't be returning. In the end, the orders kept coming out late or not at all, so I couldn't even eat a proper meal. I only paid for my portion and left -- $22 for basically a few pieces of kimbap. It's unbelievable. If I had donated $22 somewhere instead, I wouldn't have felt nearly this frustrated. We arrived after the lunch crowd departed, and a good thing we did. The isles around the AYCE food trays were narrow, and there seemed to be no rhyme or reason to the items on the buffet: "gimbap" was next to "jap chae" across from "bulgogi pizza?" Our server had a heavy accent, so when asked, "WTF is this" he had to repeat himself several times before I had any inkling as to his answer. Really annoying since we only had about 40 minutes for lunch. I finally gave up and just filled the large bowl provided at the table with condiments; Something like a Mongolian Buffet, with a couple of important exceptions. This first was protein was ONLY seafood. The second was preparation. Instead of frying the bowl's contents, you pick a broth, and chef boils everything. WHICH broth to choose? There's 5-10 choices, but knowing nothing about Korean Broths, I just threw a dart, and it was OK. Very much like Hot Pot, which I avoid except when outdoor temps fall below 0F. I tried their garlic soy wings (which were my favorite), fried hash potatoes, tornado potatoes, cream corn, and tempura. I also had the boba and ice cream. They have a buffet bar to get for soup and a little one for ice cream toppings. There was even a ramen set up if you wanted ramen. My favorite were the garlic soy wings and the milk tea. I tried the fish cake soup, also no flavor. We tried a number of different things and none of them were good. Service - 2/10 and that's because it seems our bell wasn't working. We would press it like we were told and no one would come. There wasn't a noise either so I'm not sure how they were supposed to know when someone needed service. The servers were also taking their time getting to people even though it wasn't full. The whole thing was completely off. Ambiance - Meh. It's nothing spectacular inside. I drive past here every day but today I decided to give it a try. This is a new establishment in a strip mall, and is definitely a good addition to the neighborhood. The interior is very inviting, and the staff are awesome. Finding a parking spot won't be an issue here as there is ample free parking space. As it was my first time here, the staff was so kind to explain how everything worked. There is a medium size pot on every table for all customers to choose the ingredients from the raw food row (middle buffet table). Take as many ingredients (no meat in the selection) as you want then choose a sweet pot flavor (I got Rose Tteokbokki), and the staff will prepare the pot for you in the kitchen. It took about 10mins for mine. The ingredients were fresh and selection was ok. My Rose Tteokbokki flavor had a subtle rose taste, and with the cheese, it was perfect. I got gimbops, and fried pork from the Sweet Kitchen. Love the gimbops but not the hard fried pork. There were many ready cooked food available too. Japchae (not much flavor), fried rice (too hard and it tasted like over night x2 rice, and I gave my feedback to the staff about it), pancakes, fish cake soup, fried dumplings, different flavors of fried chicken, corn dogs, etc. I love the variety of street food/snacks that they have. They had 4 different flavors of tea, and my favorite was the barley tea. Beside the tea was a refrigerator filled with different flavors of milk tea, and there were jellies inside the milk tea! They also had a small corner for customers to try the different brands of Korean instant noodles. Thumbs up for that! Ice cream and bingsu had to order via the staff. For the bingsu, a small bowl of shaved ice was given to me and I could fill it up toppings of my choice. The ice cream came in a single scoop and I added toppings myself too. The buffet has a limit of 90mins which it was just the right amount of time for me to enjoy the food. The concept reminds me of Dookki in ChinaTown where you make your own tteokbokki pot (flavors are pretty good) and then there are some a la carte/buffet items on the side. HUGE variety of foods including corn dogs, chicken wings, jap chae, ramen station, etc. They even have shaved ice and boba tea! Only downside is that the buffet items are not hot/does not taste fresh. Also the chicken wings all tasted the same even though they were labeled as different flavors. But the a la carte items on the menu were REALLY GOOD - came out quick, good flavors and hot. The service here is A++. All the workers were so attentive, explained the concept right when we were seated, answered all the questions we had well, and brought everything we ordered promptly. Just visited during their soft opening last week. We were welcomed to this new AYCE Korean Hot Pot and then some. Located right off the southwest freeway and Williams trace. Love the new restaurants and stores that are opening in this center. Roughly about $28 an adult and kids age 3-10 is $14. Kids 2 and under are free. Sweet pot has a fun ambiance with each table containing a bell to call your waiter. The waitress showed up the menu and how everything worked. They have freshly brewed hot teas in warming pots to keep hot. There was jasmine tea, black tea, oolong, and barley tea. Next to it is a fridge full of various milk tea from the classic to taro, matcha, and mango. There was also passion fruit tea. In addition to their buffet line of ingredients for your hot pot, they also had Gimbap, kimchi, korean noodles (japchae), Bulgogi pizza, tempura vegetables, and korean pancake. There's definitely more classic korean dishes that I'm sure to have forgotten to mention. There's multiple options of broth you can choose from. After selecting your ingredients or toppings for your k pot, you will inform your waiter of the broth you die desire. We tried the Bulgogi and the rose mala tteokbokki. Both quite flavorful and enjoyable. I love the various stations available. There is a korean Hotdogs station with all the dressings. There's a "Shake & fries" station to season your own fries. Then there's the Ramen station where you pick your own ramen packet, place it in a bowl under their nifty machine that spits out hot water to prepare your ramen. If you want to try various instant ramen, come here! Then add the toppings to your desire from the bar. Finally, there's the dessert station to dress your ice cream or shaved ice. You would order your dessert from the waiter and go to the station to top with syrups, fruit, and crumbles of cookies or cereal. There's also korean rice cake Waffle that you can also customize. On top of the buffet line, they have their kitchen menu. These options are ordered with your waiter and prepared in the kitchen. We went with suggestions by our waiters, which all were excellent. My favorite was the pork belly lettuce wraps. The chili shrimp was huge and perfectly coated with the sweet chili sauce. Of the cupbop, I chose the Bulgogi, which was yummy, but be careful filling up on the cupbop (contains rice that will fill you up quick). The Ddeok galbi was also really good and served with their Savory white sauce. Sweet pot has so many options to try that it was impossible to try everything so it will be taking me a few visits to get through it all. So far, everything looks and tastes great. A pretty unique experience. We've been to tons of Korean hot pot places in the Greater Houston area, but this place found a way to be different. You assemble your own hot pot and tteokbokki at their ingredient bar and then they whip it up with your protein and broth of choice. They also have a menu filled with other items you can order under the AYCE price: Varieties of gimbop, fried chicken, lettuce wraps, skewers, pancakes, desserts, and more. The concept was a but confusing at first. When we first came we didn't realize we could order more freshly made food. The food that was displayed like the pizza, korean hotdog and spiral potatoes seemed old and like it's been out for a while. We did each order our own teppoki and chose our own flavors. I do wish they gave the option to add cheese. I ordered the original which definitely had more spice than I anticipated. I still enjoyed the flavor and being able to choose what to put inside. The items out on the buffet were super sparse, sad and oily. The foods we were able to order were just badly reheated frozen foods. A lot of the food actually came out cold. This place has really nice ambience. Plenty of parking. The service was really good as well! Our waitress explained the concept and came and checked on us multiple times. We chose the AYCE option, there is a la carte as well. The miso soup was great! You get to choose a buffet of ingredients in a bowl and they add a soup flavor and cook it for you as one of the options of Korean sweet pot. The kimchi fried rice was interesting! We tried the shrimp tempura, fried calamari, "I love Texas" gimbop, galbi fried chicken, green tea ice cream, milk tea, beef salt pepper skewer etc. everything was a bit sweet for my taste. I've been here a few times almost 6 months ago and around the time they opened and in between. They have really good food and I came in today to it being completely empty. There was nothing in the bar area, it was completely bare and the small amount of food they had was just old and hard. There was nothing variety of items they usually had especially for the pot. The food that is made to order was good until I noticed that the shrimp that was ordered was hard. The lettuce wrap was missing the fried egg, but the gimbap was really good and made fresh! The sweet hot pot came out nice and warm, they overcooked the beef that was added. Now the service was nonexistent, it used to be well staffed and now there was only one person here who didn't even seem to know how to run the front. I had to ask for a spoon and bowl for the sweet hot pot after a few minutes of waiting to see if they were going to bring it, which they didn't until asked. Now this person might be doing both the cooking and the service and if that was the case someone should be helping them. read more

Weekend lunch price is affordable at about $20. Includes drinks! Even has milk tea. You get to fill a bowl up with all the items you want and pick the sauce for the chef to cook it in. There is also a menu for kitchen items you can order that isn't in the buffet area. Pricing is for all you can eat and we do see that they plan or already let you order a la carte instead.
