I have been going to Grand Central Optical for my eyecare for the last 5 years. They've been fantastic in helping me choose the best options for my vision and even recently convinced me to try a new contact brand - using 2 week contact lenses versus the monthly contact lenses that I've been using for years. It's hard to change but I trust that they recommend the best options for my vision needs. Anytime my glasses need adjusting, they're always happy to help. Walked in and they immediately took care of me but warning that the frame could potentially break as they weren't familiar with the company I had. I've been a customer of Grand Central Optical on Madison Avenue for many years. The optician and optometrist are both very professional and extremely courteous. People will complain that GCO is expensive. Yeah, well, they are. However, I needed new glasses during COVID so I went to a local shop that claims to be affordable. Those glasses cost virtually the same as my last pair from GCO, they were just "cheaper." They had to be remade several times and the coatings have disintegrated in just over two years. I first came to this store because the nose pad of my glasses fell off. Not every optical store carries the brand of my glasses and this location in Grand Central is right by my work. The staff here is accommodating and courteous. The nose pad was replaced free of charge! Because of my good impression about the store, I later came to get a pair of new glasses and did my eye exam with them, even after I realized that the store was out of network for me. Guys, this place is the real deal. I came in last year for glasses without a hitch, but the true test was this year. When my glasses came in there was a major issue--when I returned, the store manager explained why it was happening, and how he could fix it. And then he did. 20-minutes later the curvature was adjusted and I could see without dizziness or blur. Their prices are a little high, yes, but I like knowing that if I have a problem, they're going to fix it. Try avoiding them during the lunch rush as it becomes, predictably, a madhouse. read more
