I had an excellent experience with Dr. Yung-Han Chen, OD. I came in for a driver's license exam and an updated prescription and new lenses for my computer glasses. Dr. Chen spent a good amount of time with me and made sure that the new prescription was going to be perfect. I haven't picked up the new prescription yet, but I'm confident that it will be perfect. The staff member who took my order was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. I'm able to keep my computer glasses while the lenses are readied; I just have to budget an hour for the lenses to be put into the frames. I was also very impressed with the store's lift for persons in wheelchairs or users of walkers, rollators, canes, etc. read more

There are plenty of ways to train employees without causing major inconveneices to clients. I now have my glasses back and, wow! Whomever does the nose pad installation did a friggin' incredible job!!!!! Worth the wait. Iris and Liz were patient with me and made sure my glasses were to my liking. I'm used to my lopsided face but others, not so much. So when I asked that my glasses be made higher on the left, they shared that the glasses appeared straight to them. But I'm the one wearing them all day so I want them to appear straight and be comfortable to me. So, Liz kindly made another adjustment and my glasses looked and felt right. The nose pads feel great, they keep my glasses from sliding down every five minutes and my eyelashes are no longer bumping into the lenses. As a parting gift, Iris gave me additional nose pads, a cleaning cloth and cleaning solution. I recently purchased a pair of plastic frames from Warby Parker. Unfortunately, like most plastic frames these did not come with nose pads. After reading on YELP about 10/10 Optics ability to add nose pads I headed to their store to see if they could help me. I was presently surprised when I entered the store. I was greeted in a very friendly and welcoming manner. The employees of this store truly believe in providing excellent customer service. After looking at my frames I was told the lab guy could add nose pads for $40. After 15 minutes my frames came back and I was extremely happy with the results. The nose pads added were in the same color as my tinted blue frames. They did such a good job that you can't even tell where the original nose pads were. I will definitely consider this place next time I am in the market for new eyeglasses. Unfortunately, they do not accept my insurance or any insurance for that matter. After watching their sales associates help other customers with deciding on frames I can 100% say this place truly believes in the customer aspect of sales. I had one of the best customer service experience at 10/10 optics. This place is truly a gem and I need to write a stellar review! Finding new frames always gives me anxiety. My features are Asian, I have no nose bridge and I have a very wide face. Frames never fit me right, they rest on my cheeks, slide off my nose, and are so close to my eyes, it touches my lashes. While searching the internet, I came upon a brand callled TC Charton which specializes in "Asian Fit" frames. I searched some more and came upon 10/10 optics who seem to be the only one in NYC carrying these frames. I decided to pay 10/10 optics a visit and I was certainly not disappointed. I was greeted in such a friendly manner by Betty and felt comfortable right away. I explained to her what I needed, she listened, nodded, and busted out at least 10 different frames. Betty took her time with me, reviewed every single frame with me, gave me tips and advice and made it such a fun and comfortable experience! I had never ever been this relaxed looking for a new frame and I had never had so much fun choosing one! The whole experience was so stellar that I decided to leave my current optometrist and go with 10/10 optics all the way from now on. I just had an eye exam with Dr. Chen and purchased 2 sets of lenses (office and distance). I found Dr. Chen to be the most thorough and patient optometrist I've ever worked with. I guess I'm a bit of a challenging case, but he was patient and persistent in finding me the right prescription. Jesus and Ruth were super helpful and friendly in getting me the right lenses and fittings. I highly recommend 10/10. I only wish I could say that about more businesses! read more

I only came here because I work on the same block, but very glad I found this optometrist! I normally wear glasses, and haven't worn contact lenses for ~8 years but decided to get a prescription so I can wear non-prescription sunglasses during weekends at beach etc. Was very easy to make an appointment and after seeing Dr Rozenberg found out that my current prescription was actually to strong, so went from -4.25 to -3.5. Also recommended a brand of contacts that are a better fit for my larger than normal cornea. The new prescription is definitely an improvement - because the night before I was struggling to read some text in the opening scene of blade runner, and watched the opening again that night with contacts and could clearly read the text :) New contact lens brand are also comfortable to wear, and I've found I can wear them longer than old brand without eyes feeling uncomfortable. Also, unfortunately I was near the Flatiron steam pipe explosion and got something in my eye which 3 days later was still irritating one of my eyes. I popped in and they fitted me in the schedule for a quick inspection and gave me some saline to flush our eyes and next day was already healing. I don't think I normally give 5 star reviews, but very happy with 10/10 optics and glad to have found them! read more

This place is great. I spent lots of time in November and December scouring Manhattan for funky, unique frames. You'd think that would be easy in Manhattan, and I suppose it is compared to many cities, but I still found it a bit of a challenge to find a store with better selection than the standard LensCrafters fare. To make a long story short, my quest ended at 10/10 Optics. They have loads of quirky styles here, with several designers and brands I didn't see anywhere else. Best of all, the staff is knowledgeable about what works for your face shape and never tires of digging up new things to try, based on what you say you're looking for. They also don't hesitate to tell you when something isn't right for you. They have a funky computer & digital camera station set up that I haven't seen anywhere else. Once you narrow it down to your 4 top choices, you can take pictures of yourself wearing those frames, to compare side by side. They even let me compare with a picture of myself in my old frames. So helpful! I ended up with a classy retro, yet modern plastic butterfly style frame. They're black with green details. I have gotten so many compliments! They were expensive, but hey it's like buying a facial feature, so it was worth it to me. Go! You'll be glad you did. read more

Found this place online when looking for places that do custom nose pad installations on plastic frames. I've been very frustrated with a pair of plastic frames I had (lens touches eyelashes, frame rests on cheek, etc.) so I was desperate to try to save them. I'll admit that $70 was pricier than I would've liked but after seeing the quality of the craftsmanship, I would say it's worth it. They did a fantastic job filing down the existing plastic extrusions on the nose bridge and even used copper-colored metal to match the overall color of the frame. They single handedly saved my pair of glasses and I would come back again if I ever needed nose pad installations in the future. read more

I had never forgotten about my experiences here and the constant spamming from them has inspired me years later to comment. I was sold very aggressively on a very beautiful pair of buffalo horn frames (1k+) I was assured didn't stay up on my face only because they had not yet been adjusted. I also expressed concern marking the lenses for progressive zones before the frames final resting position on my face. No adjustments could be made of course and they slipped down constantly which the staff blamed on just about everything else. The lens transitions were made for wrong position because of this and they were useless. After some arguing they agreed to screw in nose pads which completely ruined the look of the frames and again the lenses were really made for that either. I saw the doctor there and they agreed to make these lenses and doctor recommended to make middle computer distance wider. The doctor and staff loudly argued about this in front of myself and other customers. Was shocking. These lenses were impossible to use and the nose pads needed to be readjusted. The frames were cracked upon doing this which I was told was the was they were before i brought them in. I've been using glasses from Shanghai that cost under 200 dollars for progressives and also a pair from the excellent manhattan grand optical with no issues. Headache after headache and almost 2k wasted but mostly importantly extremely aggressive behavior between staff and between customer and staff all for the sake of selling a pair of high end luxury frames. I added a star for the attempt to make a new lenses but a zero start experience in the end. ##### Regarding your comment. I most certainly was not offered different frames or a refund. Not at any point. You replaced the lenses and installed pads. read more

I have been going here for many years and always ended up with great glasses unfortunately no longer true. Last time disaster. I ended up with glasses that were so coke bottled I could barely see out of them I don't think they compressed or ground the edges despite me asking several times and telling them I had a heavy prescription when I was looking for glasses. I didn't even get my frames here (because I didn't find out about this place until after I got my frames from somewhere else) but I definitely will the next time that I get new glasses because of how accommodating and helpful they are here. The frames I originally got were plastic and had no nosepads, and being Asian and having a very flat nose bridge, they just kept slipping. Anyway, let me just say that I found out about this gem after some research on putting nosepads into plastic frames and this place showed up as one of the top results and I'm so glad that I found this place! I got nosepads put into the plastic frames for about $65.00 and the man who helped me, Jesus, was so helpful. Also, I got my glasses back within the next day! Not only that but when my glasses were too tight and hurting behind my ear I returned there and Jesus was very patient with me and sat me down and made sure that the ear pieces would be angled to the point where it would fit me but not hurt me or be too loose. I adore 10/10 Optics. Six years ago, when I lived in NY, I searched all over Manhattan and Brooklyn for new frames, and finally ended up at 10/10. The folks at 10/10 totally changed my look by helping me pick out an amazing pair. I paid more than I was used to for glasses (which was not a lot, given that I had just finished school and had been buying frames from LensCrafters and Costco), but those 10/10 glasses lasted me for six years. I got tons of compliments on them, and I actually replaced the lenses multiple times as my prescription changed, because I loved the frames so much. Friends would literally tell me things like "you have to get backup pairs of those frames; they are so you." A couple of years ago, one of the hinges started to get irreparably loose, and I realized, to my horror, that I would soon have to replace my beloved frames. I had moved out of state, but in the 4 or 5 business trips I took to NY over those two years, I'd always head to 10/10 and spend a good half hour there hemming and hawing over potential new frames. FINALLY, this past weekend, I was in NY again for work, and dragged both my sister and spouse to 10/10 with me for yet another look. Ruth, the owner, totally got me. "You want the same exact thing," she said, "but also a totally new look. I have just what you need!" Then she whirled off in what can best be described as a Fairy Godmother From Sleeping Beauty style, and returned with an armload of frames to try. I found ones that I love, AND my spouse also found new frames (he wasn't even there to look for new frames!). AND Ruth referred us to an optician near our home for follow-up AND sent us packing with the instruction to "just send me an email if your nosepads need replacing; we'll pop some in the mail for you." After sending my prescription they had a sample pair contacts ready in less than 30 minutes for Free and they are not even my primary Opticians. It's hard not to get personal and/or emotional when it's something so valuable as your vision. The night before vacationing in NYC I scratched my cornea (or something along that line). Traveled in pain, not able to wear contacts and day two was no better. Red eye, swollen, constantly closing and tearing.... I called and scored a quick appointment with Dr Rozenburg. He examined my eye, assured me, guided me, and I left feeling much better. More than that though the five or ten extra minutes he spent chatting with my husband and I were one of the highlights of our trip (and we had MANY highlights). I made it to the store, just shortly before it closed (phew!). The setup is a little more "old-school" if you will, in that you'll sit with someone and they'll bring you pairs of glasses. Steve helped me out and he was great! I was on the hunt for Asian fit lenses, and this place has a good assortment. On principle, I do not get my eyes checked where I buy my glasses. After trying on a couple of different lenses, I ended up with THE perfect pair. I showed up on a Tuesday evening and glasses were ready by Friday - super fast turnaround! The ONLY downside is that they do not take VSP, you'll need to submit the receipt after paying the full price first. I learned, only after I received my reimbursement, that VSP covers just a small portion of the cost. So I ended up paying more than I would have liked. read more

But I'm about 3 Netflix movies and 5 YouTube clips away from being declared legally blind so when I agreed to help my friend find glasses, it was less altruism and more recon. And what an insightful trip it was... First off, the selection of frames here is fantastic. My philosophy on glasses is that they should be a little flashy. A little unique. Something fun that you won't get bored with after a couple months. And they certainly deliver at 10/10 Optics. They had a huge selection of frames in wacky shapes, colors, patterns, materials. I was really drawn to the Wall o' Colorful Frames where they had glittery, multicolored girly glasses that would make me smile forever wearing them. For guys, they also have some really cool looking stuff including a pair of glasses made entirely of wood (hinges and all)*! Next, the service was stellar. The staff was beyond friendly and made such amazing recommendations. They brought out pair after pair of great suggestions to the point that my friend had to choose between 5 favorites by the end. He even had a pair of prescription aviator sunglasses made. What speaks volumes of their service comes 2 months after our initial visit when my friend lost the sunglasses and wanted to get them replaced. He calls up the store and they recognized his voice** and pulled up his file and had a new pair ready for him within the week! When he went to pick up the glasses, they made sure to put a nice label inside so that if he lost his glasses again, some nice person might send them back. And if you've got kids that need glasses, this has GOT to be the place to go. They have the largest selection of actually attractive frames for kids I've ever seen. These are not the glasses you get made fun of for wearing. Rather, they're the kind that makes you wish you had to wear glasses too. Kinda like those florescent colored rubber bands for braces back in the early 90's. In addition to all this, they are involved in a program that recycles old glasses by sending them to developing nations for those less fortunate to use! So yeah. I went to this place because of the yelp reviews and I was disappointed...I would agree with K.C. as to how the reviews are all about the eye wear and frame selection but none actually talk about the eye exam which is such a rip off.... yeah its a rip off....Why? Because they just do like a 10 min quick examination without dilation and stuff and there you go ....sanitization is a problem too...but for me was the intense ffrustration that I had to go through ...the only solution that the doctor came up for my eyes was the rigid lenses ....that is a hugh investment meaning bucks for the company ....welll cuz my eyes were heavyily polluted and would always give me trouble that wat he said.. ...at sometime after my trial the doctor started getting frustrated with me and started giving me less and less time and I was soo unsatisfied.... I changed my doctor this year.. and hell yeah i am satisfied turns out there was no problem with my eyes and the one day lenses that 10/10 has said does not come in astigmatism were actually available and here I am happy go lucky with my new lenses....NEVER mark it NEVER am i going to go to this place again ... and honest mistake as it maybe...i was once handed over samples of number -9 and -10 when my lens number is only -1.5 ....so be careful there too ...i could have ended up having severe headaches...... I'm a contact lens wearer by day, a glasses wearer by night (e.g. the two minutes it takes for me to walk from the bathroom to bed). However, I still want to get the coolest, funkiest glasses I can to distract from my intense coke-bottle lenses. I got my last pair at 10/10 about five years ago, and decided to go back there even though the store wasn't covered by my insurance, as I remember there incredible selection and service. My boyfriend (aka fashion adviser) and I sat at the counter, while Charlotte selected about 30 or so frames for me try on, refining her selections as we went on based on my feedback or the funny faces my boyfriend made indicating that these were not the right pair. Charlotte also took photos of my in top four picks, but despite the great selection I just didn't find "the one." As we were leaving, Charlotte's colleague asked if I wanted a shot. I thought she meant one of my photos, but she meant a real shot. So we pulled back up to the "bar" - I had a shot of Frangelico, while Andy had some Jack.. Talk about service. While I didn't walk away with glasses, I did walk out smiling and will definitely return to 10/10 again. Cheers. read more

I went to 10/10 Optics to get a pair of glasses and to get nose pads installed on a pair of plastic frames I already owned. A few observations... 1. They raised the price of their nose pad installation. It now costs $48.99 to get a pair of pretty dinky nose pads put on your plastic frames. 2. The nose pads are tiny and therefore push into your nose. When you wear your glasses for a long time, they leave a mark on the bridge of your nose. 3. The young sales woman who helped me was really very rude. I waited for over an hour for the nose pads to be ready and she had ZERO sense of urgency. I had to ask her 3 times before she would check on the status of my order even though she wasn't helping anyone else and I had been sitting there twittering my thumbs for 75+ minutes . That is NOT great customer service. 4. If you are to buy glasses there, they are pretty expensive. Albeit great quality stuff, but expensive. But if I was gonna pay that much for glasses, I'd want the customer service to be phenomenal. Overall, I had an OK experience but definitely not great. read more

10/10 optics is customer service at its best. From the moment I walked into the clean, vintage store, I felt very welcomed by the owner and staff. I needed to have nosepads installed into my new Warby Parker glasses which were falling off my face and too close to my eyes. I had read a review that someone else had posted that had these babies installed and decided to try this place out. The owner knew EXACTLY what I was talking about and even suggested having the nose pads installed higher up on the glasses to fit the asian nose bridge. Unfortunately, the lab tech wasn't in that day, so I had to pick up my frames with my newly installed nosepads instead of having it done on the spot, but it was so totally worth it. When I came back to try my nosepadded glasses, they fit my face SO perfectly. The guy also adjusted the back of my glasses for me so that they wouldn't slip off easily. What was so amazing about the job done was that the new nose pads were so carefully drilled into the frames and the metal wire that hangs the nose pads also MATCH the color of my frames. WOW, I did not expect that since my frames are auburn-brown colored. The texture and quality of the nose pads are perfect - they have an anti-slip feel to them. These nosepads work better than my gucci plastic frames with nosepads. Highly, highly recommend this place to all my asian sistas and brothers who are tired of having to push up their frames multiple times an hour. I've been raving about this place to all my friends. Amazing! I did not think it was possible, I am still looking side to side expecting something different. Guess what, something different did happen. Two weeks ago I went shopping for glasses one more time in my blurr years. I wear glasses since I was 4 yrs old, for the first time, yes, for the first time I found a pair of glasses that I LIKE. Yes I, not Mom, not my sister, not my spouse, I LIKE them!! And I LOOK GREAT with them! 10/10 Optics my folks, 10/10 Optics !!! Not only that, I found two, two pairs that, (yep you got it), TWO that I like. They have great styles, designs and colors. To top it off, the STAFF, they are magnificent! At the time of writing this, 10/10 Optics has 11 straight 5 star reviews. And this will be the 12th. When you walk into 10/10, you get the feeling something is different. You can't quite put your finger on it, though. Is it the subdued lighting, slightly reminiscent of a lounge? Or is the fact that customers are chuckling along with salespeople left and right, like they've known each other for years? That's certainly the beginning. My wife and I saddled up to the "bar" and were shortly met by Alexandria Meblina. She asked how could she help, and my wife told her was looking to replace some lost glasses. "Something red, maybe purple. And fun." "I'll be right back," said Alexandria. A couple minutes later she returned with an armful of frames--over a dozen--and arrayed them neatly on the counter top. While my wife tried them on, Alexandria kept the perfect distance, knowing exactly when to chime in and when to let my wife figure things out on her own. My wife plowed through the first round of frames, setting aside several that she liked while Alexandria went back for more. The frames ranged in price from about $150 up to a beautiful $800 pair made of some exotic African wood. They were all elegant and stylish, though--nothing looked cheap. Once my wife narrowed her choices down to a handful, Alexandria took pictures with a special camera that let her see four images of herself at a time, allowing her to compare frames side by side. A few minutes later, and we'd found the winners. Alexandria broadened our search a bit, suggesting frames that matched my wife's skin tone and eye shape. She ended up with a pair of subtly funky black and orange frames with a neat pattern on the inner rim. About five days later, the frames were ready. My wife was ecstatic. They are the first pair of glasses that she really loves, I think. Oh, and Alexandria sent my wife home with a couple cleaning kits, one for each of us. A few days after that, we received a thank you letter from Alexandria with a nice handwritten note wishing us good luck on our upcoming move. It's that kind of place.
