Pretty spacious for an airport hotel
    Jennifer T.

After a crummy lost day of travel and missed connections this was a welcome site. Its right at the airport so no need for an uber. Its right in Terminal D. Huge rooms, fancy robes, and a comfy bed. The best part its literally overlooking the airport so you can watch the planes. This was a great night sleep.

This hotel never paid my parking bill at DFW parking office. Since Feb 11, 2025, I've repeatedly had to call front desk to continuously fill out a form that the manager signs and emails to the DFW parking office. I'm continually receiving debt notices from DFW parking office SINCE MARCH 2025 for the balance. Today I spoke with the director of the front desk and he was super condescending and ugly to me telling everything is confidential. I let him know that I actually was given the email to the payments at DFW parking so it's not confidential. He asked then why was I calling? (Gee, I wonder myself why I'm calling and talking to someone so rude and incompetent that's being paid as a director).., so I explained yet again talking very slowwwwwly so he could grasp it. And he said well I'm not going to fill out the form over the phone for you? Well all the front desk people paid less than you filled it out over the phone for me, but I need a copy emailed to me once it's signed cuz obviously I have to take ownership of this AND EMAIL IT IN MYSELF. I realized that I was getting no where so I made a formal complaint to Hyatt customer service at an 800 number. So they created a ticket and I'm hoping to get it handled soon. I'm really disappointed that Hyatt standards are so low in their management choices.

"Jet Airliner" - Steve Miller Band. If you have an early flight out of Dallas (ours was 6 AM), this is the perfect place to stay as the hotel is right in the airport terminal (terminal D). It was a bit confusing to find as we went around in circles for a while but managed to find this beauty when we saw the very long escalator leading up to the entrance of the check-in area. Check in was fast, quick, easy, professional and efficient. There were no lines, no waiting. Check out was just as fast at 5AM. There is a card key drop off box if you are leaving very early, but at this hotel, the desk always seemed to be manned by human, unlike some other budget places that have that dreaded "we will be right back sign". Room and Price - Nothing about this hotel is budget, of course; It's a Grand Hyatt. We've stayed at other Hyatts that were not impressive but this one was very nice; At $315 a night it's not exactly budget but we paid for the convenience, and it was also very spacious, modern, clean, comfortable and quiet and a good deal for the price. Automatic shades that go up and down, dark black-out shades if you want to sleep in. Noise - Did not hear a single noise. A good thing about staying in an airport hotel near the runway is that the rooms have extra-good sound-proofing. Huge windows to watch the planes taking off and landing. Entertainment right in your room. Beds - were the most comfortable I've ever slept on in a hotel. I like firm beds. It was firm yet plush at the same time. Pillows were clean and fresh. Sheets crisp and clean-smelling. Bathroom - a large spacious bathroom with a walk- in shower and a separate bathtub. Full amenities including magnified lit mirror, hair dryer. Food - we did not want to go through TSA to get to the food courts in the airport terminal so we took advantage of the Grand Hyatt's Grand Met Restaurant and Bar attached to the hotel. We opted to sit in the bar area to eat appetizers, grab a craft cocktail and a light dinner. See separate review on the Grand Met, which was very good. Other goodies/amenities - Complimentary water and chocolate chip cookies across from check-in counter, and coffee in the morning. There is apparently a pool and gym on the top floor, which I wanted to check out but ran out of time. Return factor: a 100% for sure at this fabulous hotel, and still dreaming about the Grand Met's Cowboy Candy appetizer!

I thought this was a great place to stay for long layovers or to be already at the airport for a very early flight. Reduces the anxiety associated with getting there on time etc. Lovely decor and felt cozy. Getting here was super easy being so close to the baggage claim and checking in was a breeze. It came in handy when I overslept despite knowing about the early flight and still everything went smoothly and made it to the gates with enough time to still get refreshments. The amenities were lovely and it felt spacious. Would be wonderful if all airports had a nice hotel such as this.

One of the better in-terminal hotels, wake up and walk down to your departure gate. Rooms are beautiful, half overlook the airfield at DFW. Located in Terminal D (American Airlines) take the escalator up from the TSA Security Checkpoint. The restaurant / bar is located lobby level on the 4th floor. Shockingly, the food quality and menu selections are fantastic. Service at the bar was exceptional - thanks David and for the fresh hand-stuffed blue cheese olives. I had a the Garden Salad, Crab Cake Appetizer at the bar, and a Pepperoni Flatbread to go. All items fresh and all were amazing. The salad dressing was a vinaigrette and was notably memorable. Highly recommend to all you weary business travelers out there! I'll be back for sure. Sorry no food pics just the rooms!

As a result of American Airlines failure to keep their aircraft staffed and on time, I had the pleasure of draining my wallet at the grand Hyatt Hotel! My connecting flight was canceled as I was on route to the Dallas airport on the first leg of my trip. After standing in line for an hour and a half at the American Airlines Customer service counter at gate A20, I was told that they would not pay for my hotel and that my next flight would not leave until the following day. However, there are three hotels within the terminals at DFW. I took what I could find and ended up at the Grand Hyatt! I booked a reservation online and made my way to the hotel. The staff at the front desk was very easily the best customer service staff that I have ever experienced at ANY hotel. They were well dressed in suits, extremely well mannered, curteous, and well spoken. Within minutes of my arrival, I had received my room keys and a rundown of the amenities and hours of operation for each. Once in my room, the experience really began! The window shades automatically went up when the door was opened. The lights automatically turned on (and off) for my safety. The bed was more than comfortable and room was adequately spacious. The TV was extremely easy to operate (even for the technically challenged) and looked to be half the size of a KING size bed! Room service was lightening quick and made zero mistakes in my order, although $50 for a burger & fries is quite pricey!! Above all else.... I don't think knives ever seen a cleaner hotel room ANYWHERE! The chrome in the bathroom sparkled! Although my say was just overnight -- I've never had a better hotel experience! They definitely helped my airport woes be forgotten (if even for just a few hours) after such a pleasant stay! Even the airplanes that I could hear leaving were quiet..... RIGHT OUTSIDE MY WINDOW! This just proves to me that you get what you pay for --- now back to work so I can pay off the bill on that charge card!!!

Grand Hyatts remind me of old money. The decor is a little dated, but well-maintained because of continuous upkeep. They always have controls throughout the room to control lights and shades, so you can do on a whim without lifting more than a finger. I've stayed here a few times and look forward to coming back whenever I have a need to be in the DFW area. Restaurant is good. I liked their crab cakes, and they made me a delicious off menu side of broccolini. Gym is great with lots of options. They kept it nice and cool in there. Nice view as well on the top floor.

    7th floor views.

Great hotel for DFW layovers. Clean quiet rooms with a good view of the airport. The staff was friendly professional.

    moldy blanket

After a long day of work and preparing for an early flight, I pulled the blankets up and they were all moldy in the inside. Luckily there were 2 beds in my room and the other blanket wasn't moldy. I have never seen anything like that at all hotel before. When i told the front desk lady she said "we will let housekeeping know. thank you for telling us." Meanwhile, i'm traumatized for the rest of my life thinking hotels are just gross. Although it was convenient to stay next to the airport, I got no sleep because of the mold I saw.

Menu for Aces restaurant in hotel

My husband and I stayed here one night. We wanted a hotel near the airport and we were catching another flight the next day. We landed in airport terminal A, called the Hyatt , and the hotel shuttle picked us up within 15 minutes. The hotel is near terminal C. The next morning one of the hotel airport shuttles took us back to the airport. The shuttles from the hotel to the airport run every 20 minutes. A lot of airline employees apparently stay at this hotel. This is a somewhat above average hotel. Our room was quiet, had a comfortable bed, had two bedside tables with reading lamps, and bedside charging and electrical plugs. The room had one upholstered easy chair with ottoman. The desk chair was somewhat padded and pretty comfortable. The desk had a convenient pullout extension. My primary criticism of the room is that there were no glass glasses. I like to use a glass glass to hold my toothbrush. Here I had to use a paper disposable coffee cut resting sideways on the counter. The room had a small coffee maker/ tea maker with pods and teabags and a refrigerator. We didn't use them. I needed extra blankets. Housekeeping delivered 2 blankets soon after my request. The hotel has a decent restaurant called Aces where we had dinner. We did not eat there for breakfast. The hotel also has a restaurant called Jacob's Spring Grill, which we did not try.

Ask the Community - Grand Hyatt DFW

What would food options be if we don't want to eat at their restaurant (Grand Met)?

I'm not sure if you are interested in leaving the airport proper, but there is a shuttle that runs every hour from the Hyatt Regency into Grapevine. There are a ton of dining and shopping options along the way. Check out the grapevine shuttle green…

If staying at the hotel in terminal d, but flying out of terminal e, can I use the skylink to get me there the morning I fly out? TIA

You can definitely take the sky link to the next terminal. The hotel is just outside of security so you can take your pick if going through security and then the train or vice versa.

Our event coordinator had already been in contact with each hotel's sales team regarding room blocks, but my fiancé and I wanted to personally see the properties before recommending them to 30-40 hotel room blocks. Although we arrived after sales office hours, Liz at the front desk was exceptionally kind. She walked us through the restaurants commonly used for private events, explained the renovation timeline, and invited us to take our time exploring before returning to the front desk to view a standard guest room. Unfortunately, our experience changed when another employee, who later identified himself as Clayton, a manager, stepped in. It appeared he had been listening to our conversation but had not introduced himself. He abruptly informed us that we would not be able to view a room. We explained that our event coordinator was already working with the sales manager regarding room blocks and pricing, and that we were simply trying to ensure we felt confident recommending the hotel to our family and friends. Despite understanding the situation, he remained unwilling to accommodate the request. His only suggestion was that we purchase a room if we wanted to see one. For us, this interaction spoke volumes. Hospitality isn't just about beautiful rooms--it's about making potential guests feel welcomed and valued. If this was the experience we received as prospective clients considering multiple wedding events and dozens of room nights, it gave us pause about what our guests might experience. As a result, we will likely to move our room block, welcome dinner, Saturday event, and Sunday brunch where we're met with warmth, flexibility, and genuine hospitality from the moment we arrive. The Joule is undeniably a beautiful property, but customer service plays a major role in our decision-making. Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling that our business was neither appreciated nor wanted.

We had a broken, blinking Neon sign, a wobbly ceiling fan, broken blinds, matchbooks full of phone numbers, an unfinished manuscript, an ashtray full of cigarettes, and a dead body in the tub. Not really. But we did have a giant seven foot "desk lamp", a paintbrush and frame above our bed, and and a carpet made from Hamlet quotes in Room 704. Dining: Hamilton's is the main on-site restaurant and bar, with a host or hostess in the lobby smiling at us when we walked in. Taco Enzo and Kolache Korner are in the refurbished shipping containers in the massive parking lot. The lobby store is small and not cheap but it beats a vending machine, especially if you want an ice cream sandwich or fingernail clippers. The "South Beach" pool is saltwater, so it's softer on the skin, eyes, and hair and avoids red eyes, green hair, and pool smell. Location: Though the Cedars district is the industrial historic heart of the Dallas arts scene, it's a bit gritty and has *freeway noise*, with gentrification friction, being a patchwork of high-end luxury lofts sitting right next to dilapidated industrial warehouses, making it feel half vibrant but half abandoned. The Walkability Score is 73, thanks to massive railroad tracks, the I-30, current construction, and inconsistent sidewalks. Be warned this isn't a tree-lined, window-shopping destination like Uptown or Bishop. Finding food, a drink, and even a movie will be much easier than groceries or a pharmacy (though drugs is a different story). The pool was great during the summer, it's small but has many chairs and even cabanas that are great for lounging in. The onsite restaurant for breakfast was delicious! The food was really good - probably the best part of the entire hotel - and the service at the restaurant was beyond friendly and accommodating. The parking is $20 a night which is a crazy price, but there were always plenty of spaces. There is a lot of construction next door, so we could hear that going on during the day and proved for a quite terrible view from our hotel room - completely obstructed by a tree with the bits you can see through being just trucks. One evening our toddler pulled the plug for the lamp that is on the night stand and it pulled the entire outlet out which created a hot flash of fire and smoke - then live wires were exposed - this is crazy dangerous and very disturbing that a very small child was in such danger from merely unplugging something. We went down to the desk and they immediately said they'd send an engineer up and asked if we would like to change rooms. We said we'd see what the engineer said, he came up about 5 mins later and said everything needed to be replaced so I said to him we have to switch rooms as it was completely dangerous for anyone to be in the room with live wiring exposed. A minute or two after the engineer left the front desk called our room and told us to come downstairs to change rooms. We packed up, trucked everything downstairs and they switched our rooms to the room next door (which it would've been nice if they would have offered to help move our luggage or at least tell us to just move it one room over, not bring it all downstairs). The front desk was actually really passive and cold - I found the situation quite shocking and dangerous and they had basically nothing to say about it. I thought it would've been nice if they had said something to apologize for the inconvenience, to offer something in return. It is completely their fault for having faulty electrical equipment in their room and they just wanted us to move rooms and go away - I was just happy to move the room and not be near them since they were such bad vibes - I think other people would've felt disrespected by their behavior. Thanks for the food, won't be back.

About the Hotel I don't know the history of the hotel but I can tell it's a well kept older hotel. I like how they kept some elements of its legacy. The lighting, the mail chute and more, add to the charm of this place. The lobby is a modern twist with an emphasis on audio entertainment. There are a lot of record albums on display as art. There's a small walk up cafe for quick bites and drinks and you can take a comfy seat in the lobby to enjoy your snack. From the lobby, you can peer down into and access the Toussaint restaurant and bar. About our Room Our room (603) was spacious and functional. It included a king bed, 2 large side tables, a round bistro table with one chair, a large flat screen TV above a long counter to drop some of your stuff onto. It had a large wardrobe for hanging clothing plus a valuable safe. It had a bar with glassware and coffee service (Keurig). The bathroom was spacious and functional, though the sliding entry door did leave a large gap, taking a bit of privacy away from the commode area. If there was a con for this room, I'd say it was lighting and lack of outlets on one side of the bed. The room did have lighting, but it was very dim. Convenience We really loved the location of the Saint Elm. It was nearly next door to the Majestic Theater where we were going for a concert. Is it really worth saving 50 cents a night to not allow your guests to sleep cool? The thick bedding / sheets are not breathable and I had a hard time sleeping. Only after I asked to check out early did they miraculously "get approval" to remotely reduce the room temperature by 2 degrees. What a joke. $350/night for a Holiday Inn level staffing and guest experience. The only good thing about this place is the location. Other than that I'll save my money and stay somewhere else where I'm valued.

We did not have a very good experience with the Fairfield in Dallas. We were stuck for a night…read morebecause of a flight delay so already not a great start. We called to see if they had a crib since we had our young daughter and they assured us they did. On arrival they said they didn't have one and they only had 3 for both hotels in the building. So we had to door dash a pack and play. Super frustrating, we would've chose a different hotel if they were up front to begin with about not having any availability for the crib. The hotel was run down. Stains on the carpets and on the chair in the room as seen in photos. Room was big but set up kinda awkward. TV wasn't working either just was to the point where we went to bed instead. I wouldn't stay here again unless it was forced upon me.

Its time for "Story-time with Adam Cole Baby" (don't sue me TK, I'm working class and can't afford the lawyers) The TLDR: This is a serviceable hotel with great front desk and that's about it. I wouldn't feel comfortable with any single female friends/family to stay there by themselves. The very first interaction I had in Dallas, the VERY FIRST was a *ahem* "lady of the night as I was getting out of my Lyft and approaching the front doors of the hotel. She walked directly in my path, looked me in the eye, and with no warning said: "For $50 you can do whatever you want to my asshole" Do you know how hard it is to make me speechless? I muttered and stuttered my way past the woman to check in. Homeless people and working girl are a REAL problem here. In my eight days there every time I left the hotel I ran into one group or the other, some times both. I check in, go to my room, do a quick inspection and in the shower I find.....black mold!!!! An easy enough fix I think, I go downstairs report it to the front desk, go off to the market for supplies, and come back. The front desk guy tells me that he's made a concoction of sorts that gets rid of mold and he's left it in my room for me to apply it in the shower. A VERY WTF moment!! Bro I don't work here, and don't know enough about this chemistry experiment you've cooked up. I go back downstairs and they finally give me a new room. I'm not much of a complainer and I have a clean new room so let's just sleep and see what the next day bring. I wake up and decide to hit the breakfast. I grab some undercooked bacon and potatoes, as I'm grabbing juice I notice the employees were closing everything down (five minutes early but I get it) the really weird/annoying thing was that they were turning the lights off on all the people still eating. It felt like last call at a seedy dive bar. Like I said, I understand wanting to go home but turning the lights out on your guests was a complete and utter FAIL. My last notch in the complain column is that the building itself could really use some attention. When it was raining the ceiling by the front door was flooding like a TLC song. The elevators never seemed clean either. So if I'm going all Final Justice on my review why did I give it a three star and not a one? All the positives come from the front desk agents. Jasmine was the best agent I've had the pleasure to deal with in almost a decade. She was warm, welcoming, and quick as a whip. Every day that I came downstairs she had a different suggestion on where I should go and what I should eat. Honestly if I was building a management team from the ground up, I would poach Jasmine in a heartbeat. So yes on the strength of one employee a hotel gained two stars. Otherwise I can't really recommend stay here until they make some major changes
