I normally take pics but we were so hungry & the food was so good I totally forgot to take them. I will say though from their freshly squeezed limonada to the mole, everything was delicious! My cousin and a few artists came here to eat after a performance on Sunday, August 9th, and we had such a great experience. The owner was incredibly friendly, and our waitress made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The food was fresh, flavorful, and definitely worth coming back for. Now, I am not a flan girly, but their chocoflan was DELICIOUS! We also tried a few of their freshly baked desserts and they were chef's kiss. The service is truly abysmal. We went on a Sunday after church to try them for breakfast. They were packed at 12:50 but we snagged a table for 4 near the door. My first clue was after 10 min I walked to the counter to request menus. But it was crowded and only 2 servers so I was fine. We received our coffees/hot chocolate at 1:10. I was catching up with my aunts and realized we had been there for over an hour with no food. . It's a dinner it shouldn't take that long. Not for 4 orders of corned beef hash 2 eggs (2 scrambled soft 2 over easy), grits toast and coffee. After flagging down a waitress our toast came and 10 min later the rest of our meal. To their credit the eggs were cooled perfectly. I would have preferred the hash to be a little crispier and the grits were not creamy and too watery. My husband and I (gay) have been going to this restaurant for over a decade now. It's literally the best. I'm obsessed with their ham, egg and cheese sandwich. Also, if you follow them on instagram they post videos that are Oscar worthy. The food is top notch, they decorate for every holiday, and the staff is friendly. This has become a regular spot for me. I walk in and they bring me a coffee by the time I sit. All the waitresses always seem happy to see me. All in all, I feel welcome. If are looking for good late-night spot after a night out this would be the location to come and grab some good eats. It's a Mexican Diner and they have lots of baked goods at the entrance. This place has seating at the bar which they serve beers from 24/7. You can have a seat and a check out a menu that do not have much vegetarian options but food is quite good. As per previous review of mine, my favorite local Mexican joint on Bushwick Avenue is closed and under new management. I'm now on a quest for new Mexican food. Grubhub pointed me here and I was okay with that. Food is amazing and fresh. I wish the carnitas weren't fried crunchy, it was hard to savor the meat because it was so crispy but I was fine with that. Also my nachos didn't have an ounce of crema which would've been lovely. I stumbled upon Grand Morelos right when I moved to Brooklyn after spending an extended period on the coast of England, which decidedly, has absolutely no Mexican food whatsoever (unless you count a knock off Chipotle and the hot sauce you carry around in your purse). I admittedly missed good burritos a lot more than I missed my ex boyfriend, who was the reason I was there, eating crappy Mexican food in the first place. My friend tipped me off about Grand Morelos because he said it's the only place he could ever find to hang out in after bars closed. I'm not really someone to slam tacos at 5am -- I'd much rather make far worse decisions during that particular witching hour -- but maybe sometimes I like to imagine a timeline in which I am. A timeline where I watch the sunrise on Grand Street while stumbling home with a belly full of rice and beans as my hangover starts to test my will to survive.
