Visited Grand Nail Lounge for the first time today and had a pleasant experience. The location is convenient, the salon wasn't too busy, and the owners were friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed the deluxe pedicure, which was relaxing and well done. I did have some confusion with my manicure service, as I didn't receive any hand message with my dip manicure. I liked that they have a brochure with the details on pricing and they itemize cost on the receipt. I believe pricing was average for New Braunfels. My technician, Anna, was kind, and overall the atmosphere was calm and enjoyable. I would return and just confirm my services next time. read more

As soon as I walked in the staff were friendly, then became pushy very quickly, they asked if I wanted a pedicure with my full set, I told them no, they said I need a pedicure it will be nice, I said no again, the third time was too much, I let them know very firmly that I was not there for a pedicure. I sat down and the nail technician "Jade" asked what shape I wanted, I let her know, I also let her know that I wanted them short. "Jade" asked if I liked the shape and length, I pointed out to her that the middle finger was way longer than my other nails, she said it had something to do with my nail bed, it clearly did not, all she had to do was cut it down, she reluctantly agreed. Then she slopped the acrylic on, it was thick, I asked her to make them thinner, she also blamed the thickness on my nail bed. Finally I told her I do not like the shape, they looked like a big wide blob on my fingers. She yelled something in her language, two women came running from the back as if they were going to attack or at least try to intimidate me into liking the nails how "Jade" did them. I explained what I did not like, and asked for more filing, the one lady did a couple of swipes with the file, smiled and asked if I liked. I told her no, I do not like this shape or thickness, "Jade" was standing behind her squawking in her language and making a face, I told her it's not personal, not to have her feelings hurt, this was just not how I wanted my nails. The other lady told me that "Jade" has a language barrier, when she definitely was able to understand me enough to argue and tell me it's my nail beds. I felt at that point I had no choice but to continue on with "Jades" poor workmanship. I was charged $55 for nails I had to go home and file down myself, this place is horrible, I guess they do not care about having repeat customers, because I will never go back. To the owner/managers response: PLEASE roll back the entire visit!! My description is 100% accurate! Please include the way you and your staff rushed up on me to defend the horrible work "Jade" did on my nails. The photo is exactly how I left yesterday, they are horrible! I wish I would have read the reviews before coming to your establishment, they are very enlightening, and accurate! "Jade" is described as rude, which is also very accurate! So please miss me with all of the BS, shame on you for running a place like this, I really hope more people read the reviews and make the smart decision to keep driving to another establishment. This was my first time at this nail salon, and I was impressed from the moment I walked in. The owners greeted me right away and were so welcoming and attentive and offered me a drink immediately. I have been going to grand nail lounge since I moved to new braunfels 3 years ago. They are top notch and the quality of nails is A1. 10 outta 10 would recommend any time to anyone! All their nail techs are amazing with mani and pedis! Every time I am there the vibe is so chill and welcoming - nothing beats the experience! I have been quite a few times to this salon. My recent visit was horrific. I have called to speak to the owner & the "gate keepers" won't even give their name. I asked for a shellac polish change & required 1 repair & a nick fixed. No other customers were present. Jade is the absolute rudest person. She chewed me out in front of two other employees saying she would no longer repair my nails as they are too thin. She would only do dip nails. I have reason for not wanting dip. I will go into more detail with the owner if she would like to calmly hear me out. Jade last time was on a face call the entire appt. This time she was on a phone call with her ear buds in the entire time. **** This is APPALLING behavior**** not to mention the chewing out I received. Another customer came in after me. Her acrylic nails were in bad shape. Jade rush through my appt to do her nails and was more interested in her nails. Anna was trying to start removing her nails and hurt her in the process. Jade asked rudely, "Who did your nails?" The girl replayed, "You did." If Jade was not taking calls & rushing people when you are not at all busy---- maybe her repairs would hold up. She told me she would only guarantee repairs for 3 days. Jade needs an attitude adjustment & a course in customer service. Appalling service! read more

So yesterday afternoon I went in to get my nails done just shellac and so the lady walks up to me she's kind of young maybe 20s and hands me a pile of colors and a basket and tells me to pick a color so shortly after I was ready she asked me what colors I had picked or color and so I picked 2 colors and they were both matte . Mind you I was never told Matte was more expensive. Anyways the nail tech knew maybe 2 word of English and it was hard to communicate anything to her she was filing and using her cuticle tool very roughly and hurting me and so i kept pulling away from her and she was rushing through it as well . She ended up not doing a very good job with the Matte color and someone else had to come fix it for her . As I'm getting ready to pay she ends up charging me $45 when I was told $40 for shellac that's way too much to begin with but anyway then she added this $5 and I asked her why and she tells me because Matte colors are more and I clearly and firmly said to her why did you not tell me this to begin with I did not know so she proceeds to give me some ugly look and says to me it's ok I'll take it off I was thinking. Yeah you are . Anyways no tip for them they lost my business I'll never go back there ever and I was never offered not one thing to drink water would have been nice . Awful place awful ppl . I took my kids here and I told the lady to give them regular nail polish and she kept telling me she's going to do shellac. I said no and the nail techs still did shellac and charged us for it. They DO NOT listen and respect what their customers want. The lady said she did shellac so it can be faster and dry faster!! Ken did an amazing job on my nails... the exact shape I wanted and even added some cute snowflakes for the occasion. Ken does amazing nail designs and will be my new go-to nail tech! read more

Nice and clean nail shop. Not the best pedicure. I paid for the deluxe pedicure and if you want your legs exfoliated and massaged this one is for you. However, don't expect your feet to see any exfoliation, massage, and the heels will only be scrubbed for 5 seconds. The polish and my toes look great just wasn't satisfied with the rest. read more

I do not understand the business plan of some of these nail salons. This one just opened and the people are not friendly at all. We are used to businesses in New Braunfels to act nice and welcoming and like they are glad we are doing business with them. The nail tech I had didn't even speak after hello. I said a few things to her, but she never looked at me or acknowledged that I had spoken. Not even a smile. And the funny thing is that nail salons are all over the place here. It is not hard to shop around and find one that you like. I tried this one because it was new and close to my home. What a joke! They are not very nice at all. I came in on a Saturday and was greeted with general annoyance that I had not made an appointment. I'm not used to this as most salons will take you and just let you know the wait time and it's your decision to stay or go. They made it very clear they were reluctantly taking me. I had been here a few weeks prior and they were nice enough. Not super nice as most places but the file did a really good job so I let some of the rudeness slide. Fast forward to this day and this stuck with me. The owner was the one doing my nails and I commented on something g she had shared with me on my last visit and she was very flippant and did not hide her annoyance and then began speaking in Vietnamese to the other nail tech behind her and they began laughing. I was very taken aback by this brashness. She didn't file my nails well either. They were super slow that day so I don't understand the rudeness but I will not be back. I'm disappointed because this was the closed nail salon to me. Here's some advice don't be so pretentious to think you're the only Salon in the area. This isn't San Antonio. You won't get business simply for being a nail salon. You'll have to polish those customer service skills a bit. Do but recommend. Plus the prices are higher than some. You were then laughing in the background and was very short with me. You denied my service before you even checked who was on schedule that day. So save it! I see you going back and forth with everyone on the reviews and that is the problem, your attitude. Everybody is not lying I know. I'm not the only one who had a bad experience from you. Whether it is the second, first, or third. You should treat everyone with respect and talk to them like you got some sense. (Ms. Manager) It's even worse to see you are the manager.
