Don't Be fooled with the glamorous shots they have posted on yelp. We've been wanting to stay here and finally booked. It smells dirty as soon as you walk in The carpet looks filthy. The shower floor grossed me out with the yellow stains. There is no hot water when you shower so good luck in the winter especially if you have toddlers, mine were shivering. There isn't anyone at the front desk so you have to text a number if you need anything. Most likely you will be ignored. We stayed in cabin 11 and the heater is loud when it kicks on and you hear banging noises coming from it all night. First and last time we stay here. This place needs better maintenance. read more

Terrible customer service!! We couldn't check-in for hours since nobody was available!! This was during regular office hours on 12/27/24!! No staff present other than maintenance, not helpful. I had to ring the Office "Ring" doorbell multiple times, I made multiple calls, and sent direct messages but never got a response.Eventually, I had to get Booking involved. Booking couldn't get a response from them either, so Booking recommended that we find another accommodation. This was a very stressful experience. We were in the mountains: not much around. We decided to have dinner while searching for another stay. While having dinner, an unknown number texted me in an unprofessional manner asking that I return to office. I called that number and a man answered. He stated that there was a mistake (no apology) and that the Grand Pine Cabins could accommodate us after-all. I was so frustrated, irritated and confused. He forward a link to self check- in. At that point, it was already dark out and we were exhausted. We decided to proceed with the self check-in through that link he sent... 3 HOURS AND 30 MINUTES LATER WE WERE OFFICIALLY CHECKED IN TO THIS CABIN (3:30pm-7:00pm) !!!! The next morning, when it was time to checkout, I walked over to the office expecting to finally speak with someone IN PERSON regarding our experience. There was still NOBODY PRESENT!!!!!! We had to self checkout via text. After everything, Grand Pines never apologized!! They didn't offer us a discounted stay, or comp us anything. They just took our money and ghosted. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING! This was NOT worth the Total Price of: $255.06 for a very stressful 1 night stay in a standard King room that had dirty bed sheets and a door that couldn't lock from the outside. read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could. They knowingly rented us a room with broken a/c in the middle of summer. It was 90 degrees when we got into the room after 6 pm. There was a notice on the a/c unit that it was "temporarily broken." The dubious sign on the opposite wall warned us not to open windows. It cooled down to 87 degrees by 9 pm. The front desk said that all the other rooms were rented out but we could open the windows. The problem is that we had to keep the windows and heavy curtains open all night to cool the room off, so people could walk by and look into the windows. When we closed the curtains, the temp rose back up to the '80's. All in all, a terrible experience. I would definitely think twice about booking a room here. read more

This was our first time in Wrightwood and stayed at Grand Pine Cabins. Im only giving them a 4 because of parking. I hope they create an assigned parking for those staying because we had to park in the front when there was no parking by our cabin. We had rented the Deluxe family fireplace. The cabins beautiful and homey. Shower is pretty tight and small. My children loved the arcade game that was in their room. Spent so much time playing which was awesome. Overall we had a great time! So disappointed with the rooms and service at Grand Pine Cabins. Would not recommend. Service: checked in without any issues; however, expect ZERO service, assistance, or response from about 7pm until 10am. Initial request for additional towels at 415, received response at 715pm stating that they missed us and to pick them up at from desk before 8pm but we were out and unable to grab. Disappointing. Came back to our room at night to see dirty furniture with unsightly stains but worse dirty linen on our bunk bed. Went to front desk and they were closed and told to call a number, it was their general automated line that does not have a live agent. Tried to text other number listed for after hours and no response. Tried multiple times to both to no response until 1015am the next day. We requested a call from their team multiple times and finally had their on site manager tell us their cancellation/refund policy states 14 days prior to arrival would qualify despite basic needs not being met. We also received charges for mini bar and drinks that were not consumed but they stated that would at least be corrected and will have to check on that later. Safety would be a major concern considering NONE of the listed after hours numbers were manned by anyone. Considering the state of the room and the bathroom showers, I would be concerned of things such as a plumbing issue, or worse than having no assistance until the following late morning. Rooms: furniture had multiple visible stains and as mentioned dirty linen. I didn't even unfold the blanket in its entirety as wood chips and dirt were falling out of it. Cleanliness was not a priority. Shower handles were visibly broken and needed repairs. Reading another recent review two weeks ago, it seems that dirty sheets are a common factor at this facility. Wish I would've seen it prior to our reservation. Overall, the only positive was the location as everything was walkable. The place has potential however, it was disappointing for a room to be $400+ a night and was far below basic standards. Would not recommend until they have better cleaning protocols and most importantly, customer service available, especially in case of emergencies. read more

I stayed here on 12/27/21. Pros: Our room #10 was clean, updated and modern. With only a king bed and bathroom, but will a mini bar, microwave and mini fridge it was accommodating. Our heater worked great. Parking for our unit was extremely convenient and we loved that. Cozy, warm and only connected to one other unit. Location was great and walking distance to restaurants and park across the street. Con: I paid $550 for one night which I thought was ridiculous for size and type of city. Would have given it 5 stars but again the price was ridiculous for room size, check in time is very late (4:00pm) and room wasn't ready upon check in time so we had to stay in parked car with heater with a child for almost an hour. read more

The walls are not insulated and paper thin. My neighbors blared music 4 pm to 7 pm. I let the front receptionist know. No improvement. The neighbors left for dinner and the noise improved. Then at 3 am and 4 am more noise from loud music. I called the after hours number and got no help. I got a horrible night's rest. I got no help from the hotel staff. I asked for a partial on full refund and got no money back. The manager didn't call me either. All is done by text. They text you a room code and for check in and out it's online. This place is way overpriced and they need to do insulated walls for quieter rooms. Don't stay here! Don't waste your money. read more

This place is not very accommodating to their guest ESPECIALLY if you look a little different and the vibe they put out is one of their better then you. I booked my room using a hotel booking app and I was getting a great deal but it seemed that because I wasn't paying full price I was treated different. Also I had booked here a couple times and every time I was put in the worst room, the floors squeaked and creaked so badly! I couldn't sleep in the bed because it was killing my back so I had to sleep on the floor and they did not provide extra blankets. And one night just after we had returned from being gone a staff member knocked on the door but never identified himself as staff, we were kinda tripped out and weren't sure if we should answer it then the staff member proceeded to attempt to open the door to our room again not identifying himself as staff at this point we were scared and shocked. After leaving the hotel I received a $107.75 charge on my card because after washing my hair (which I regularly dye red) I had used one of their towels to dry my hair and the white towel had some pinkish color in the center. Who knew if you dye your hair your not allowed to use their towels! All in all I would not recommend this place at all ESPECIALLY for how much the rooms are!! My recommendation is checkout Airbnb BEFORE you even think about booking here!!! read more

Lovely cabin and wonderful super helpful customer service (Cathy?) she was great. Answered all and any questions with ease. Lovely girl. BUT ONE HUGE RED FLAG. I've stayed at a handful of cabins and hotels. Never have i come across one with a security code type door entry, but on the inside no latch for the guest to lock out others from coming inside even with a code. You should be able to latch and lock the door from the inside out. We tested it and locked the Door from the inside and had some one type the code in from the outside and it unlatched the lock. It doesn't matter if it's an employee who can have a code or a previous tenant. There should be a latch or bolt from the inside that you cannot unlock from the outside. This needs to be addressed immediately!!! Huge safety concern. Other than that this place is fantastic!! The room is wonderful including the bathroom!! Love the bath tub in the king size room. One of the best cabins I've stayed at minus the fact anyone could walk in here with the code....Currently spending the night. Will check in tomorrow if no cabin in the woods stuff happens read more

This place is a cozy, quaint, well kept, clean and restful charming little gem of a motel/cabins. We booked through Expedia and had a lovely stay there last night. I always love to write nice things about a place I enjoy and this is a clear case of that. Alissa was our host and was apologetic for the no ice rule during the pandemic but that was totally ok. The room was good for just 2 people and was super clean. The room was exactly as advertised old looking cabin with modern features. Water did take a bit to warm up but after speaking to Eric he suggested letting the water run for a couple of minutes and that definitely helped. I booked a room here and then suffered a medical emergency a couple of hours before check in. I had tachycardia and the local fire station thought it could possibly be from high altitude.We spoke to the front desk and told them we need to leave Wrightwood because I was feeling so ill. She said there was nothing she could do because she wasn't a manager. After calling for 2 weeks and emailing and not getting a response, my husband spoke to the manager Jonathan today. He was so rude and not willing to give any type of reimbursement. I understand there was a no cancellation policy, but my heartrate was 140 and it was causing alarm to me and my family. First of all let me tell you that I would have never found this place if not for Groupon. I got one night for $300 on Groupon, which wasn't bad. 4 days after I booked I got an email from the property telling me that they wouldn't honor my reservation and advised me to take it up with Groupon. Let me tell you that it was after cancellation window. I spent two days on the phone, emails, live chat you name it to figure out how to get my money back . I finally decided to go with it instead of losing my money. The property rep Lance (?) convinced me to book directly through them which ended up being $500 for one night (18 hours to be exact) plus $150 deposit, he assured me that it's top notch high end luxury hotel. I checked pics and reviews online, it looked decent. But to say I was shocked upon entering this walk in closet is to say nothing. The square footage is about 200 sq f, two beds are almost touching with no space between them, if you want wash your hands with cold water as there is no hot water you would have to make a maneuver in the bathroom. They told me my handicap mom would be able to walk to the room but the surface was covered with pebbles and uneven. You leave your car in the street as there is no gate or secured parking. The walls are paper thin, I was enjoying a barking dog from one side and music and party (of 2,5 people that can fit in their rooms ??)) from the other side. For $650 a night I could ve rented a house in big bear with hot tub, fireplace , 2 bedrooms and all amenities. This is basically a barn in the middle of nowhere, yes there is no snow either (and the guy who sold me this property assured me that it would be plenty of snow for my child to play in and I'm coming on the best night of the season ) The only positive thing is that there is a Mexican restaurant next door but if you decide to take out you have to eat in the car as there is literally no room to sit. Spend your money wisely and avoid this place at all cost !!! read more

First of all... Gilbert! You are amazing. Excellent location, friendly staff, clean and beautiful rooms. Beyond accommodating. GPC and Gilbert went above and beyond to make my wedding weekend perfect. We rented out the entire facility for the weekend and I had my reservations for almost a year. All year long, Gilbert patiently and kindly helped to make everything I wanted exactly the way I wanted it. We were also able to rent out the multipurpose room to allow my bridal party to get ready with hair and makeup. Gilbert decorated my room with bouquets of flowers, champagne, candies and a personalized note. He also had a bouquet of flowers waiting for us inside the multipurpose room. He did the best he could to allow as many of my guests to check in early. Literally, if my requests were within reason, he personally did his best to make everything happen. Having my entire wedding party be able to stay with Grand Pine Cabins was such a blessing. The rooms were very clean and beautiful. The beds and pillows were comfortable, and all the other staff members were friendly. The locations couldn't be anymore perfect. Easy walk to main street. Thank you Gilbert and staff for making this very important weekend in my life stress-free and absolutely perfect. If you are a PCT hiker the laundry is now $10 and a ride to the trail is now $10. A double room in $110 and that seems high for what you are getting. Since our friend's wedding started a bit early (2pm) we needed an early check in as we were driving up from OC. Gilbert made it his personal mission to accommodate a check in time for us, calling us on his cell phone to confirm and settling us into our one bedroom cabin for the night. The room exceeded our expectations with a boho, trendy vibe with sweet upgrades you would expect in a 5 star hotel like a carefully crafted mini bar, large modern bathroom, and decor out of a magazine. Though the units are small, they are well-appointed with AC/Heat, big-screen TV, lots of towels and a well-stocked minibar. The location cannot be beat. Right downtown and just 3 miles from the ski resort. Lance was very helpful with all of my questions, and the contactless check and check out made the process simple. The property is smoke free and the lodgings fit everyone from a single person, to couples and families. When I went to this place about 3 weeks ago, It was supposed to snow. At about midnight, The flakes started hitting the ground while we were sitting by the complimentary fire and mini bar. (It includes a free drink.) After the night went by, we went to Mountain High. The snow was pretty crazy there! It's also very close to the Wrightwood skatepark, and other shops in town. Even though the room furniture and vibe was great and cozy...it's tiny for 3 people or more. The beds are super comfortable. Room has mini fridge and allows dogs which is great but called 5 town restaurants all are not dog friendly. Shower and products for washing are good! Suggestions : give guests silverware and plates or at least plastic plates and cutlery, the coffee provided tastes terrible provide more coffee options and some tea as no tea was available. Easy check in and check out contactless process. When curtains are open people can see directly into room! Suggestion : install sheer curtains. Super clean! Has cute outdoor setting area to hang. I am sorry to report that poor management sullied an otherwise fairly decent experience with this motel. We love Wrightwood and are sorry that this will not be our accommodation there in the future. The room for our family of three was already expensive for its fairly small size and cute-but-basic quality, but we had no hot water for the first 24 hours, which made it very uncomfortable and extremely inconvenient. When we moved rooms later the next day, the front desk clerk spoke to us about offering us a discount or credit because of the inconvenience, which we would've appreciated immensely. Since then we tried to respectfully communicate with management repeatedly but have received absolutely zero response. The room was just way too expensive to only have ice cold water and not be able to shower or even wash our faces; it is unfortunate that the management is unhelpful and incompetent. read more

Our family had a weekend stay at the Grand Pine Cabins in February. We had an amazing time and loved how our room had the right amount of modern, chic and rustic touches. The rooms were clean with comfortable bedding and our bathroom had nice touches with a large modern shower head. There was also evening wine social hour and pastries in the morning. Across the street, our kids got to play at the playground which was super convenient. The hotel is also centrally located in town and we took a walking stroll around and ate at the Evergreen Cafe, which was delicious. And about a 5 minute walk to to the grizzly cafe and other bars. Heater worked GREAT. Hot water stayed hot for 2 nice long showers. Front desk staff was very sweet and helpful/knowledgeable about the area. The one thing I didn't like was that the bed was pretty loud/squeaky. This place is clean and has a very nostalgic feel to it. We were in the family cabin that has not yet been renovated, but the only part that would make me feel it needed to be redone is the creaky floor. The bathroom was nice with unique products to use. Beds we're comfy and the room had a mini arcade machine, record player and a little coffee station. Ut was retro yet modern with their nice TV set up equipped with Netflix & Hulu.. The staff was friendly and their front office is cozy. Pet & kid friendly place. Outside the walk ways are nicely lit up at night and the property is well kept. We absolutely loved the Grand Pine cabins. The room was itty bitty, we stayed in a 2 queen room (cabin 3) and it barely fit me, my husband, 7year old and 2 year old. Despite the smallness of the room we would stay here again in a heartbeat. It was clean, the location was convenient (restaurants, parks, stores at walking distance).
