8/18/2026 My first trip to Philadelphia with this being my first stop was absolutely perfect. My server Sarah was very attentive and helpful giving me the run down of the menu. She suggested the lunch special, and it did not disappoint for $18 and some change. I got the lemongrass pork bahn mi 2 minis at that stuffed with all the good things. The beef pho was the perfect size and the broth was sooo clean I was in love. A glass of wine topped the meal and I was stuffed. The vibe was so casual with old school hits playing in the back ground and the dim lighting made it a go to spot for a date. They have an upstairs with additional seating that overlooks everything. Always enjoy the ambiance of Miss Saigon, it's a very casual dining spot for Thai food. The Shaking Beef was great, very flavorful and a nice amount of food. The River Prawns were good albeit a bit difficult to eat, I do feel like there may have been a bit too much sauce. The prawns were also a bit overcooked as they were chewy but not too bad. It was super unfortunate they didn't have any desserts but the ice cream. The scoop was pretty small and tastes more like coconut as opposed to Mango Sticky Rice. Went for an evening with friends for someone's birthday, and I thought it was a fun experience overall. Lots of good choices for food and drinks, bit pricier than typical for Vietnamese fare, but it's certainly a very nice venue and ambiance, so that's perhaps to be expected. It's certainly nicer than most Vietnamese restaurants, and the location is pretty prime as well. I had a mocktail that tasted pretty good and the food I ordered (steak and eggs) was good too, albeit sweeter than I was expecting. We had one of the private rooms in the back with karaoke, which one of the staff set up for us, then told us how to use. Staff overall were very helpful and friendly, which I really appreciate. We had a bunch of people and needed some extra seating, and they were very accommodating of that. Room was a bit loud with big speakers in there, but that's just how karaoke be. The part that was not so great was the karaoke software itself that they used - the song selection was kind of limited, and the bandwidth for downloading songs not already in the system was really slow. I'd seen a different one at a bar that operates with your phone using a QR code that was really user-friendly; this one was less so. The sound worked great, though, including the wireless microphones. I thought it was smart that they had stuff around the mics to make it easier to put down on a table when not in use. I tried a Vietnamese restaurant in downtown Philly called Miss Saigon. They have a decked out interior and open late at night too. They also have a karaoke room in the back. I got their lunch special which includes 2 mini banh mi, a small pho, and a drink. I got lemongrass pork for the banh mi, beef pho, and fresh ginger beer. The pork was cooked pretty well but I wasn't a fan of the bread. It's not toasty and flaky like a normal Vietnamese baguette. They also use a butter aioli instead of the traditional sauces, which isn't bad, but kinda reminds me of a spicy mayo. The pho was decent, they gave me more meat than I thought they would. Broth was just ok. I wasn't really a fan of the ginger beer either. My dad got the bò né and my brother got a short rib pho. I also tried the Thai tea and spicy limeade. The Thai tea was more in the milky side, I did like the limeade though. My ginger beer was actually more "spicy" than the limeade. read more

Miss Saigon has a lot of really good gems on the menu and an extensive drink menu. Although the restaurant is definitely pricey for what you get, I didn't leave feeling like I could have gotten similar dishes for half the price on Washington Ave. Out of everything I tried, the oxtail pho and spring rolls were the only dishes that seemed like more straight forward Vietnamese dishes, but even with the pho, the oxtail really made my night because of how tender and delicious it was. The crab fried rice was also fantastic as well as the braised pork belly bao. The quality of service was a little quirky, as if the waiter had hired his friends as waitstaff, but it added to the experience. Our waiter was very fun and friendly. This is a great option, especially for a late night dinner, as it stays open much later on weekdays than most restaurants in Center City. Looking forward to trying more items on the menu! read more

I have mixed emotions on this place. I came a few times when they first opened and EVERYTHING was great. Food, service, drinks, and ambience. I finally got a chance to visit last night and the food was blah! Not even sure how Vietnamese food can be bland but that's exactly what we got. We tried 7 different small plates and an entree and everything was bland. I would return for drinks only! I don't know what happened with the food, but to be a contender in the Philly food scene this place needs to go back to what made them popular when they opened. Or transition to a bar only. We came here for their happy hour and dined at the bar. It was pretty busy for a Thursday night, it looked like they had some type of networking event at the bar in the back. Decorations were nice and they played good music, overall a good vibe. We ordered their banh khot, mini banh mi with lemon grass chicken, thit nuong, pork belly baos, and cha gio. Pricing was super reasonable at $7 a dish. The food came out very fast and everything was fresh. I'm Vietnamese and thought everything tasted very authentic, my favorite was the banh khot. We also ordered the Viet 75, Hello Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, and the ube espresso martini. We loved the Viet 75 and the coconut flan was a great way to end the evening. I am from Southern California where we have the best Vietnamese food anywhere so my standards are super high. Food: 5/5 We got their skewers, banh kok, and fries. The skewers were pretty good! The chicken one was super delicious and came with really good dipping sauce. The banh kok was really good and great with wrapped with her pickled veggies and lettuce. The fries were crispy and came with a turmeric dipping sauce. Drinks: 5/5 We ordered a few Vietnamese inspired drinks. They tasted good, especially the Hello Ha Noi. It tasted like a tikki drink and was pretty strong. Service: 5/5 The servers were really nice and we got seated pretty quickly. The food came out relatively quick and so did the drinks. Price: 3/5 Our bill came out to about $200 and we only got appetizers and drinks. The drinks and food were good but the portions were pretty small. There is also a 20% automatic gratuity charge, an 8% tax, and a 3% credit card service fee. If we ordered $100 bill, it would automatically charge $31 for just fees, which is a little ridiculous. For these prices, I definitely do not think it is worth it. Ambiance: 4/5 This place has a modern artsy take to traditional Vietnamese cuisine. We got seated upstairs in one of the tables right next to another party. Do you find yourself looking for happy hour on Sunday like we were yesterday? Then come here! They have two! Regular happy hour and late night happy hour! You can't win all the time i guess. The menu is not really clear or descriptive but the server was very helpful. The pho can be ordered in two sizes despite showing only the cheaper price. I got fries that said fish sauce but I didn't really taste any fish sauce. The pho was veryyyy tasty but the beef was tough (toooo chewy!). the bo ne I got was very flavorful too! It's not on the menu online but they said it was a brunch favorite that made it to the dinner menu recently. I drank an imported can of Vietnamese pale ale, solid flavor and not too hoppy. The table next to us got sparklers for their birthday event. They have automatic gratuity plus a 3% charge for credit card. The math looked like the charge was on top of tip. Ended up having Miss Saigon twice while in town for a conference. Once was take out to eat super gross in my hotel room. The next was dine in with friends. The staff are really excellent, they were very kind and welcoming. Service was very good. The ambiance is also super cute, very Instagramable if you're into that kind of thing. Was just at Miss Saigon last night with friends. The place is stunning and beautiful and the food was all came out of the kitchen beautifully plated! We each tried a different app (vegetarian summer rolls, vegetarian spring rolls, satay and pork & crab spring roll) and our entrees (pho, crab noodle vermicelli and shrimp fried rice). The staff were all friendly, welcoming and engaging throughout the night AND the people in the bar space were lively, talkative and seemed to be enjoying friendly conversations with each other. Oh what a treat! Miss Saigon has some stellar things to offer. We had a double date here and it was a great spot to catch up and enjoy some solid noms! We tried their fries and banh mi for the table as our apps and then my wife and I shared their tacos and pho as our meal. I loved that everything was able to be made vegetarian! The lunch combo is a very good value deal, you get a small pho, 2 banh mi, and a drink. Pho broth is okay and the noodle is the big noodle type. I'm not a big fan of their banh mi because they use spicy mayo sauce. The meat is normal. Their fries is normal, more on the salty side and is pretty crunchy. The skewers are good. Not sure why this restaurant has so many good reviews. The ambiance is nice and our waiter was nice but that's about it. It is not kids friendly at all. The hostess tried to make us carry our stroller up the stairs but we managed to find a place for it downstairs ourselves. They have happy hour menu but told us it was at the bar only. For food, we wanted the pho and upgraded for a bowl instead of a cup and it ended up being $20 for a standard sized bowl that you usually get at a traditional viet spot. The meat they gave was mostly meatballs with maybe 2 small slices of beef round, no tendons or tripe. The broth was also overly sweet. Not traditional pho broth and also not traditional noodles ( I can forgive the noodles) The thit kho (pork belly with rice) was also overly sweet. The chicken skewers were ok but we found a piece that was undercooked. On top of that everything was overpriced and they included automatic 20% tip (for all parties) and 3% for credit cards. With so many viet choices in Philly, this is definitely a pass. read more

Dearest reader, it pains me to write this review, truly. Miss Saigon failed us. When my sister booked a family party there for June 1st, they should have told her then that Walnut Street, and other adjacent streets, would be closed for Pride events, so that she could let all of her guests know to take extra time in getting there. They did not, making the experience of both getting there and leaving nightmarish. That was a very poor way to treat a customer celebrating an important milestone. Sigh. Second, when we arrived, I told the staff I have a seafood allergy. I do this anyplace where seafood is prominent on the menu, and where seafood based broths and sauces are used. I ordered a beef dish, which the server said was "safe" and I agreed - you would have thought was a safe choice too, right? One and a half bites in, my throat started to constrict, reacting to the iodine in the dish. I choked and felt the intense itch and mucous avalanche that signals a reaction. I had long ago stopped taking epi pens with me as it's a very avoidable allergy. If I'm not sure what's in something, I don't eat it. I tell restaurants before I order, and I never go to Red Lobster. Fortunately, one of our friends did have antihistamines and a pen. She rushed over, gate me a powerful liquid antihistamine that I felt working in 2-3 minutes, and had other meds to give me relief. After that, a server came to me and listed all the "safe" dishes they had. Ummmm... what I had ordered was on the "safe" list. I politely told get that I wasn't going to eat anything else from this restaurant. She kept offering. I told her I didn't blame her personally for what happened. I still wasn't going to eat anything else there. So what do they do? Bring me more food that is "safe". I even got a big pile of steamed white rice brought to me. Mystifying. I really wanted to be left alone. Even with meds, seafood allergies settle in for a while, leaving me feeling like garbage. Pushing more food at me doesn't make that better. It makes it worse as my stomach was already starting to ache from the food that I ingested. The restaurant is lively with loud booming club music, so conversations were difficult. The karaoke room though was beautiful, lots of flowers hanging from the ceiling and such. It should come as no surprise, friends, that Im not going back. read more

Miss Saigon for a quick NYE drink? Sure why not? Surprisingly it wasn't too packed in there so we grabbed a seat at their second bar. It's reaaaally cozy up in there and I hope they have a second floor so folks can have more seating space. We were immediately greeted by the owner who was extremely hospitable, greeting and chatting with folks, helping out. The staff were super nice and helpful. Perfect pre-theatre meal at Miss Saigon! My reservation profile notes a preference for standard (non-high-top) seating and the hostess recognized that and seated us upstairs where we had a beautiful view of hanging lanterns and lit-up tree for the holidays. The Hang Son Doong (Bacon-infused redemption burbon, orange-maple syrup, Saigon chocolate bitters) was well received and I loved my spirit-free Fresh Ginger Beer (nice and ginger-y!). We shared an order of the Skinni Mini Bánh Mì (lemongrass pork, mini baguette, butter aioli, cucumber, pickled vegetables, cilantro), Braised Pork Belly Bao (quail eggs, pickled shallots, daikon, carrots, Thai chili aioli), Saigon Fries (misted with fish sauce and served with coconut turmeric aioli), and the Combo Lettuce Wrap Platter (lettuce, cucumber, mint, cilantro, sides of Saigon vinaigrette with 4 bánh khot, 2 spring rolls, and 2 skewers). Everything was well-seasoned and flavorful. The quail egg on the bao was different and truly made them special! For dessert, we tried the Vietnamese-coffee based play on tiramisu and the lychee sorbet. Both were tasty, though the Vietnamese-coffee is a bit deeper in flavor than even espresso, so overwhelmed the other flavors a bit. We will definitely return to try more offerings! read more
