They've opened up their warehouse to be larger for customers.

We've been to the Emeryville warehouse a number of times. In general, you will find better quality products at Granite Expo for a better price than other locations, but don't expect much more than that and know what you are doing (or take someone who does). Unless you are just buying some simple cabinet knobs, this isn't the place for non-handy persons. The staff will answer questions but you won't get your hand held much like you might at the big box stores. Also the warehouse is cold and unwelcoming - get it, get business done, get out. But as for good deals, they are there to be found at Granite Expo. Check the hours before you go too, unless you have gas to waste.

Seams should be in the corners..

-10 Bad company with very bad business practices. Have a company to install their products which is nonexistent if you try to find them or want to review them. It is called GE CONSTRUCTION. Avoid them like the plaque. Granite Expo sells them as experts in stone work and installations They are neither. They are just a name who we have no idea what they do. It sure is not quality work. Granite Expo employees sell you on using GE ( Get it Granite Expo) Construction Company, saying they are a great construction company and they will make sure you get the best team. Then they contract out to a subcontractor, who could be anyone who has a small pick up truck with cheap employees to do the work. I really have no idea what GE Construction actually does. Try looking them up as a separate company. I have been looking for over a year and still can't find them. I purchased quartzite slabs to put in new countertops for our kitchen. They tried to sell me on precut material but I wanted rounded or bullnose of the edges, which cannot be done on the precut slabs as I was told by the employee after he contacted GE Construction ? By phone while I stood there. So as contracted for , I ordered 3 slabs of quartzite. They agreed Ed to measure, cut and bull nose 24 ft of quartzite and deliver to my home on March 19,. When they arrived they had not bullnose the 24 feet of the countertop. They had sent a person out to measure using a hand held measuring tape. We later found out that large kitchens like ours should always be measured using wood templates to make sure the expensive stone is cut properly. They did not do this. I never even saw him write down the measurements and he dismissed me when I asked him specifically to not cut out certain area. SO they arrived is a very small truck with 5 guys ready to install As quickly as possible. BUT GUESS WHAT. They did not bullnose the 24 ft of edging as per contract. So who cut the stone.... Granite Expo ??? GE CONSTRUCTION or subcontractor. Whoever did it did not read the contract or follow the work order. Do you know what happens to stone that has been cut without doing the bullnose. ... it will not fit on the countertops if the bullnose is done. So they ruined my 3 slabs of stone. We are not contractors so we did not immediately know this. They then dumped our stone into the Granite Expo lot and refused to do the job. They destroyed our stone that we paid for them called us snd told us to pick it up or they would lick it in. damaged stone. No explanation that we would need to purchase 3 new slabs. There is really no reason to use these people. I can tell you right now that this job could end up costing you a lot more for the damages they do, than getting cheaper stone. Just not worth it. If you just have to get your stone and or their products here make sure not to get sucked into their sells pitch about using GE Construction. There is little recourse. They ended up costing us thousands more and we still have a mess it will cost fix. Read reviews about their prefab products that have broken. These things always have to be replaced and as far as we have seen they have not taken responsibility for any of their poor work or their poor products. They cut sink hole in the wrong place on our stone over the sink. Useless slab. Would not fit to corner seam and had about 3 inch overlap on the other side. The cut the sick and the sink accessory holes in the wrong place on the slab causing need for huge sink to be purchased just so we could use the slab. Sink accessory holes were cut 5 inches back from the sink. WHAT DOES THIS DO??? It causes soap and water to fall on the stone instead of into the sink. Just try to get them to replace the stone. They refused to even answer our phone calls and emails for 6 months, leaving us without a kitchen to live in. . They do not care about their customers. They will never own up to the mistakes they make. Like us you will have to go through years of State Contractors Board, Surety company and lawyers to get what you are owed. They do not seem to have any idea about OSHA regulations that protect employees and the customers. Is it worth it to you for a little savings on a product, when you could be facing a lot more in repairs, stress and they just don't tell the truth. In our case they told the CSLB, the state consumer board who is supposed to protect us from company scams, that we changed our mind about the edging when they got to our house, although the bullnose was in THEIR work order. They also told the CSLB that the use proper OSHA regulations when attempting to grind stone in our driveway. We caught them using a hand held grinder WITHOUT WATER, to attempt to give us a rounded edge, but not a true bullnose, that had to be done in the shop with proper tools and water. Dry grinding stone is against OSHA standards because it is very dangerous to breath the dust that happens when you dry grind.

Had a great experience here. For a warehouse, customer service was not compromised as everyone was helpful and kind.

We visited several cabinet stores and most places only had MDF cabinets, but we wanted solid wood so that it would last longer. However, we didn't need fully custom cabinets. MDF cabinets are much cheaper around $5K for our project, but we ended up spending about $25K on ours, which were made in America. Kevin was able to lay out all the cabinets for us and discussed functionality. We're very happy with our lazy Susan corner cabinets, and having built in trash and microwave cabinets. He also helped us update the design after the demo too. Kevin's design was really helpful and we even used them for submitting our permit. I think a designer would have charged at least $5K, but I had a clear idea of what look and materials I wanted so and I was glad to commit the savings to better materials. 4 stars instead of 5 stars, because I think the management is very inflexible. We received the wrong size trash cans and I had to purchase my own, but did not receive even a $100 credit after spending so much there.

The space is small, less than 120 sq. feet in our mid-1920's era house, and yet there is an amazing amount of counter and storage space, and the workflow between range, fridge, coffee station and sink is natural and makes sense. Everything is light and airy looking and the space looks modern yet retains the feel of early 20th century construction. Tile, counter, cabinets, floor and paint are complimentary, and soothing. There's even a range hood for handling cooking exhaust. We could not be happier with the outcome of our project, and we realize that engaging Aimee Toy Inouye at Paragon Kitchens and Bath was the number one reason for the success of our remodeling project. Rewind 4 months. My wife and I decided our 90s-era old kitchen had to go. Massive dark granite counters/backsplash was cracking, Ikea cabinets were crumbling, lighting was dim and we could barely lay out a cutting board for meal prep. We knew enough subcontractors that we thought we could handle the project ourselves, but how were we going to best change the space? We investigated kitchen design firms and the upfront cost seemed shockingly high. Paragon's quote was in the middle of several firms we investigated, but still, we were thinking we could save money right away by figuring out a design ourselves. Keep in mind, engaging a designer will be your first expense. Later on you will be writing check after check without thinking twice but in the beginning, you will hesitate. You will think, they can spit floor plans out of a computer in an hour. It's a counter and some cabinet boxes and some tiles. Plug in the numbers and it's done. You will think of the cost of designer time, when you really should think of the cost of designer expertise. You are paying for knowledge, experience, and talent, which actually is priceless. In this case Aimee's knowledge, experience and talent were an amazing bargain. She and her partner Christina visited our kitchen several times and talked to us about our issues and what we wanted out of a remodel. They took exact measurements, and then several weeks later came back with renderings of four different layouts, with pros and cons listed for each. We worked with her and in the end combined two of these proposed designs and asked for cabinet estimates, a counter source, and advice on paint, flooring and tile. Here Aimee's contacts were key. We visited a slab yard in Berkeley together and picked out stone that would work with her design, and found complimentary backsplash tile and flooring. She put together a cabinet order that was complex and complete, with a company that gave a firm delivery date, and with that in place we were able to start demo on Jan 5. Paragon provided a complete set of layout and elevation plans with all measurements that our electrician, cabinet installer, tile contractor and plumber used with everything accurate and complete. Because of her assistance, we experienced smooth sailing step by step, and the project was completed exactly one month later! Throughout the process, Aimee was instantly responsive with questions about delivery, measurements, paint colors, lighting fixture suggestions, and sink and faucet recommendations. Everything she recommended worked perfectly, and when everything was finished the results were amazing. We could not have been more pleased. My wife and I recommend Paragon highly. Remember when considering engaging a designer, that you will be living with the end result for many years, long after the memory of starting the ball rolling has faded. You will enjoy the results!
