I've always loved the food here, and the views are amazing, but after the second time in a row now with horrible service I'm sad to say I will not be coming back. I took my mom out for a late Mother's Day lunch. Our drinks arrived well after our appetizers. Our waiter did not ask us how our food was. He was too busy chatting it up with what looked to be the manager. My dad asked for a drink that he forget to get. We would've got another round of drinks but we sat at our table so long with empty drinks that we said forget it. He finally took our food order when the apps were long gone, and we proceeded to wait an HOUR and A HALF for a turkey club and a quinoa bowl! I would not recommend anyone coming here unless you want to spend all afternoon waiting for a salad and sandwich. read more

This review is only for the customer service of the event planner. I was really interested in this venue for my wedding next July. After checking out the site, we wanted to sign a contract. Our request to sign a contract, however, was ignored for 2 weeks. After my few polite emails, and attempted phone calls, she finally emailed us back the contract except it didn't include the changes we requested. It was also just a generic email with no apologies/explanations as to why she didn't reply for 2 weeks. I still responded to her email politely pointing out that there is still changes that need to be made to the contract. To this date, no response. So after a month of begging them to take my money, I finally gave up. I have visited about 10 different wedding venues, and this is the ONLY one that was not at all eager to have our deposit. I mean my last email actually told her if you cannot give us a contract, can you at least take my credit card to reserve the date? And she STILL ignored me. Wow. read more

I attended a wedding at Granite Links, so this review has absolutely nothing to do with the actual "golf" part of this club. But I can say that the views from the clubhouse / event space are beautiful. It was a clear day and the skyline of downtown Boston was perfectly visible on the horizon. The evening sun was beaming through the windows during the wedding ceremony, making for a sunshiny feel without the down sides (sweat, bugs, etc.) of actually being outside in the middle of summer. After the ceremony it was back to the entry way for a cocktail hour, where several bars were set up. I didn't have to wait in long lines for drinks, which is obviously key. The food was also good. The dinner and dancing was very nice, with quick service, a large dance floor, and more than one bar for quick refueling. Anybody in the Boston area looking for a place to get married should definitely consider Granite Links, though I have no idea what it costs. :) read more

Just played this course for the first time after having hit balls at the range a couple of times. I'll break down the review into a couple of parts. Driving range: Gets very crowded on the weekends and $10 is a little pricey for a bucket of balls but it is an upscale place. There are occasionally lessons going on there so it can be a little distracting at times. Mats are in great shape though with a fairway and rough cut of astroturf along with the plastic tee. Practice greens: There are two of them....not sure if one is reserved for people that are going to play the course or not but the one near the outside safe gets very crowded so if you can, go to the one closer to the clubhouse. The green are well kept and they are speedy...at least they were when I played. Course: What can I say? One the best I have ever played. The fairways and greens were in ship shape and the place was well manicured but I guess you would espect it to be for the $100 you'll shell out for 18 holes. The carts all had GPS on them which made figuring out your next club choice a breeze and they came with a cooler to keep your water cold. A very challenging course with 3 separate 9 holes, one of which is reserved for members. I found the layout to be good and I really enjoyed the back nine more than the front....I believe it was the Granite 9 hole. One weird thing was that there was no cart service so beers on the course were non-existent and they didn't have lids for the beers we got at the turn so a little too much sloshing happened for my tastes. Pace of play was about 4:45 for our 3some and we did have to wait a little bit but never felt rushed. Tavern: Good burger and my playing partners finished their meals too so I assume they were tasty. It was about $70 for the three lunches (sandwiches and 2 beers per person) which seems about right I guess. The sandwiches were about $12 per. I won't play this course that often since the cost is a little steep for a recreational golfer like myself but it is a phenominal place to play. The scenery and quality of course is unmatched by any public course in the Boston area. read more

This review is just for wedding events at the Granite Links -- Oh Granite Links... I really really wished it worked out with us but it's definitely YOU and NOT me! I ended up reading other reviews to try to find explanations because I just couldn't understand why this particular experience was so difficult and this was just the initial stage to get information. And sure enough, others had the exact same experience... no response after pretty much moving our preferred wedding date to accommodate their calendar and begging them to take my money. Sorry Granite Links; I guess we weren't meant to be... I hope to eventually forgive GL and return for the great patio, driving range, location, parking part (XXX) stars there. While I have played the course this review is about their restaurant. Mostly highs for this place. The View: Simply incredible with views of the city from inside and a 360 view of the harbor / islands, the city and the Blue Hills if you are standing outside. A+++ Drinks: They pour a killer martini. A+ Service: Excellent A Atmosphere: Nice; your typical golf club pub feel. A- Food: Hugh portions of typical pub fare. Good but somewhat unremarkable. Getting married at Granite Links was the absolute best decision we made for our wedding!!!! We had about 230 guests, a large bridal party, and used the tent for cocktail hour and ballroom for the reception. The level of service from the wait staff was beyond what we could have imagined. They were so incredibly kind, professional and attentive and to our guests. We could not have asked for a better group of people to be interacting with/ serving our guests the day of the wedding! The food (and I cannot stress this enough) was absolutely AMAZING. From the presentation of platters at cocktail hour, to passed food, to reception meals- everything was so delicious. We had multiple guests tell us that the food was the best they've ever had at a wedding!! Our day-of coordinator Julie was AMAZING! She tended to our bridal party, assisted us during photos, escorted us to different photo locations, provided us with food and drinks during pictures, and (most importantly) made sure we moving through our day-of agenda and bringing us everywhere we needed to be. We were paired with Sara Coyne who was an absolute DREAM to work with!!!!!! Sara is incredibly kind, smart, professional knows weddings like the back of her hand, and has amazing attention to detail!! She made everything so easy for us throughout the planning process- making recommendations, offering her opinion, etc. We could not have done it all without her!!!! If we could do it all over again, we would pick Granite Links and Sara Coyne in a heartbeat. Please do yourselves a favor, and get married at Granite Links!!! read more

Spectacular views of Boston and the quarry. Came here for our company outing. So this review could be a bit biased. Came here for just the driving range. I think you have to be a member in order to have a go with the actual golf course. I'm not familiar w/golf, but if you were to try this course- on a windy day must be horrible b/c it's so high up. You must catch the extra breeze. Anyhow, after swinging some balls.. hehe ;) we ended up at the clubhouse tavern for lunch which is open to the public. The view was just breathtaking. I wonder what it would be like on a date for dinner and not with a bunch of meat head co-workers... Being on the companies dime, I had the lobster ravioli. The ravioli had a nice presentation, unfortunately it was lacking some flavor. The apps of scallops wrapped in bacon were a good size and delicious. Shrimp cocktail was alright. Service here was pretty attentive and if I remember correctly, the prices weren't so bad either. Overall, this is one of those places where you could take a special "love interest" to on a nice summer afternoon and hit the range or play a little golf. Then go have some lunch and some mamosas. Can't beat the view and the convenience. Costly if paying full price but it's very reasonable with a nice discount cos the convenience alone is worth a star. The view of the Boston skyline from a high vantage point is worth another star or two. Played here last fall and wasn't too impressed cos it was a bit too windy and cold. And I guess they don't really maintain it as well after the summer. But I got a discount on tee time and jumped on the opportunity to play here in the summer and what a difference! The course was superbly maintained...just check out the bleached white sand...kinda surreal. Link -style layout on a few holes added interesting flavor. GPS carts were a plus. Service in and out of the clubhouse was pretty good. Slow play was a bit of an issue hence the four-star rating. Rangers were around but couldn't move it along. read more

I golf here occassionally and this course is well maintained and the views are nice. BUT the course is not for everyone. As some reviewers have noted the customers service is not always excellent. Also the course is not a great value. It's priced high which probably is to keep inexperienced golfers from playing there and damaging the course. For my money and time I'd rather head down route 3 to Pine Hills. Definitely worth trying once. read more

I have to say that this place is beautiful. The fairways and greens were pristine, and the scenery was to die for. It also helped that when I went the leaves were changing on all the trees...just beautiful. Golf wise, I can't wait to play this course again. Every hole was unique and challenging. I've never played a course quite like it. It definitely held your interest the entire 18 holes. My only complaint was that the layout was kind of confusing at times. Sometimes we weren't sure if we were going in the right direction, and I remember at least one time being confused about which green we were shooting for. Confusion aside, I can't wait to play the course again! Oh also, the food in the tavern was delicious, but an afterthought to a great round of golf. read more

Played it a little while ago, it's windy, linksy, and over crowded. $150.00 round lends itself to the arrogance of people taking their time, golf edicate out the window, and yes the guys who hit into us on 5 your ball was nailed into the woods with my hooded 4 iron. It's just a nice well manicured course on the top of a hill. I am a discerning golfer and there is little thought for your shot value. Not worth the money, too many people and god help you in the traffic afterwards. Play it once and snap a few pictures of Boston and it's all good. Plus was I played with 3 great guys which made it tolerable. read more

Wow. This place has a big lot but they sure cut off 1/2 of it on a busy Friday afternoon to force everyone to pay for a valet.

A PW of mine came off the shaft when I was on the driving range. When it happened I went to a staff member and mentioned it and was told he would have the pro shop call me when they find it (I wanted it back as it is expensive and the shaft was fully intact). After calling multiple times hearing that Monday's is when they comb through the driving range, I called Monday morning and was told that they throw out club heads they find. After assuring me my PW would be returned to me, I am pretty upset to find that it was thrown out. I knew exactly where the club head went but couldn't get it as the driving range was being used. read more

I am reviewing the restaurant as a walk-in customer. We've been here 3 or 4 times and tried different food items on the menu, and have come here on weekdays, weekends, for lunch and for dinner. The pizzas are worth 5 stars. The presentation is fancy and they are very tasty. My favorite is the mushroom and brie pizza with truffle oil. I think they had a butternut squash pizza as well but is not currently on the summer menu. The tatter tots were also a must. I don't know what's in the dipping sauce but probably mayo and magic-- I usually hate mayo but I finished the sauce and had to ask for more before eating all the tater tots. We've tried steak, pasta, burger, sweet potato fries on the menu and they were all meh. I would stick with the pizzas. The service is decent. They probably are nicer to the golf club members and those who order fancy wines. The view of Boston is always great on a sunny day. I don't know why people choose to go to the Prudential Center instead of here to get a city view. read more

So due to the pandemic for some reason, Granite Links thinks they can now regulate who drives up into their parking lot which is quite comical considering it's an outdoor space used by many including a helicopter pad that is necessary for emergencies. You need a tee time or to be picking up food or else the minimum wage working gate boy will politely tell you to gtfo. Also you can't book a tee time, my friend called and asked if we could book a tee time for the driving range and they said "show up and try your luck". How the hell am I gonna show up and try my luck if I can't get into the damn place. Hilariously pathetic operation going on there. But hey If your loaded like most of their clientele maybe if you slip a Ben Franklin to the gate boy he'll let it slide. read more

This review is for the driving range and golf lesson. Took a lesson awhile back with Bobby. He was a great instructor. It was my very first time learning to golf. The lessons can be a bit pricey, but I like the environment/atmosphere. They seem very professional. Since we were paying for lessons, we got to drive balls on the other side where only members are allowed. For the driving range, I love how they have a self-service ball dispensing machine. $10 for a mid sized bucket of balls. It accepts $10 or credit cards. The credit card machine goes down occasionally. If you don't have cash, you can go into the pro shop and pay for a bucket of balls. Some of the mats are a bit worn. You can usually find a good mat available. At certain times, they let you swing on the grass. There is a dress code that I adhere too, but it seems like a lot ignore it. read more

My friend had her wedding ceremony here with cocktail hour 2 weeks ago (no reception). I was one of the bridesmaid. My first time at Granite Links was a few days prior to her wedding when we had rehearsal in the tent outside. I didn't get to see inside the actual venue because there was an event going on. Overall, it was a great experience. The set up and the view was amazing for the ceremony. The hors d'oeuvre (I think they had coconut chicken, crab cakes, lamb pops, brie and mushroom Flatbread, and meatballs) was excellent and so was the service. The bridal suite was spacious, nice and most importantly clean. They had drinks and a cheese spread inside the suite. Inside the bridal suite bathroom there was an "emergency kit" for use. While we were in the bridal suite just retouching our make up or helping the bride with stuff, the staff went in and made sure we had some food also which I thought was a nice touch. The bridal party was busy doing stuff and they made sure that we were fed (not sure if they were asked to or they just did it on their own). Attended my first event here tonight and was impressed! Like other reviewers have mentioned, the views are simply stunning. Part of the event took place in some sort ballroom/dining room and it just had like 180 degrees of beautiful, panoramic views , including a spectacular view of the Boston skyline. The serving staff were so friendly and helpful, special shout out to Linda for being so detail oriented when dealing with dietary restrictions at our table. I was impressed by how quickly their serving team got food in front of everyone, and it was never done in a rushing, causing-a-scene kinda way. The actual rooms were beautiful and very versatile! It's a shame the service doesn't match up with the stellar views. I came here last Friday night to hit at the driving range and have a drink or two. First, anyone who charges $9 for a glass of Cupcake pinot grigio when you can buy the whole bottle for $8 at Total Wine thinks very highly of themselves. No problem, I know I'm paying for the setting and ambiance. However, the bartenders acted like it was an inconvenience to pour a glass of wine. Secondly, they keep your card when you open a tab. I knew as soon as I opened the tab that I was going to forget my card which I did. I called midweek to confirm my card was there and I could pick it up this weekend. When I went back yesterday to get my card, no one could find it. I got sent from driving range to clubhouse back to the driving range back to the clubhouse. I waited over an hour trekking back and forth while they looked for my card. There was another guy there who was also looking for his card. Yes, I do realize it was my fault for leaving it there, but I would have thought that a club that acts like they're top tier would have it more together. To top it off, I left my information and specifically asked for a call if they found my card or not so I could know to cancel it. Never got a call. read more

Went in for a lunch meeting. Not being from the area, and always like to try something new, we want in. Walking towards the front doors you notice a beautiful view of the city in Boston and the bay. We were greeted and seated quickly. The decor is a classic dark wood style but with plenty of windows so you can still appreciate the view. The menu had a variety of selections from meat to pasta and sandwiches, and of course the famous lobster roll. Some the waitress mentioned it was going to be out of season, I chose the lobster roll. It was fresh, large a delicious. Perfect for lunch. Not too big but satisfying. The sweet potato fries were ruin and not as crispy as I would have hoped. They were a little on the soggy side as if they had been sitting out for some time before they got served. Everyone else seemed very happy with choices as there were empty plates all around. Even the kale slaw went. Maybe I should have had that instead of the fries. Anyway, good food, good view and great place to talk with friends or business. read more

My daughter recently celebrated her 15th birthday at granite links pavilion tent. From the start of planning up to the end of the party they were great. Michelle was very helpful and patient with the planning and Leanne was a doll the day of the party ensuring everything was running smoothly. I was even able to hide Maya in sales office while guests arrived! The view from the tent was spectacular and the food was delicious. Where do I start with how wonderful our wedding at Granite Links was? From the moment we had our tour and met Sara, we knew Granite Links was perfect for us. It has the MOST stunning views of the Boston skyline, a beautiful ballroom, and all for a reasonable price. Our tasting was delicious and it was hard to pick entrees because the food was so good. I have celiac disease and the kitchen and chef were extremely accommodating. They went above and beyond to make sure I didn't have any issues! At the wedding, they clearly labeled what was gluten free, which was so helpful. It meant a lot to me to feel safe. Our bridal attendant was also extremely professional and helpful the day of. She made sure everything stayed right on time. I have to give a special shout out to Sara- she was AMAZING! Sara promptly answered all e-mails and questions my entire family had, kept everyone calm and organized, all while maintaining the sweetest and friendliest disposition. She managed our vendors, gave advice as if she was a good friend, and even helped me with how to hang my decorations. She helped us developed detailed time-lines and ensured that everything flowed seamlessly. I honestly could not have asked for anyone better to work with. She far exceeded all of my expectations. Overall, Granite Links' service was unparalleled, the food was amazing, and everything went just as planned. Our guests kept raving about just how wonderful everything was. My review is based on the poor customer service that my fiancé and I received trying to find a venue for our wedding. I have to admit, the views are beautiful. You can see the Boston skyline and then to your right, the harbor. I did mention over the phone that we were looking for a more intimate wedding of 75 people. But certain details should be explained over the phone so both parties do not waste any valuable time. The Event Manager, Linda Blackmore, was not as welcoming as we have hoped. First, I wanted to take some pictures of the venue so we can use comparisons of other places we have visited. I asked first if I can do this to make sure, and she abruptly answered, "Oh I don't care". Please note that this place only has 170 minimum for Saturdays. I wish I knew this beforehand. I understand that Saturdays are more expensive but half of our guests are coming three different states so that day seems more accommodating and we were willing to spend the money to make sure we book on a Saturday. She was more occupied trying to set up for a wedding later that day then to even have a sit down to explain the packages and options. Once my fiancé asked about the food packages, she answered "what about it?" That pretty much put the nail in the coffin right there. She didn't even want to go through the packages with us (she just handed the folder with the info to us at the end) or asked if we had any questions. We were pretty much rushed out of there. The only pro about this visit was that we were absolutely sure that we would never come back ever again, which was probably her goal of not wasting any of her time that day with us. read more

My wife and I take regular road trips seeking out good restaurants and thought that we would drive down the coast from Quincy to Nantasket Beach from New Hampshire. We were running out of North and West destinations and I thought we could end up having lunch at Granite Links. I've seen their ads of overlooking Boston and wanted to experience their steak tips that I heard so much about. Our server was very pleasant and personable. I ordered the steak tips medium rare without barbecue sauce and my wife ordered the baked scallops. When the order of steak tips came to the table [by another server] they had barbecue sauce on them, and, the french fries were stone cold. They were taken away for another order. When the new order came to the table it was much sooner than another order could have been possibly been cooked, but I settled for them. When I told our server the French fries were stone cold another order was brought within minutes piping hot. The new order of steak tips were tough and overcooked making you wonder if the kitchen removed the barbecue sauce somehow and threw them back on the grill to heat them up. The server brought it to the manager's attention and my meal was deleted from the bill. My wife's baked scallop dish was just OK. The visit was a big disappointment which will never bring us back. read more

I've been to this restaurant a number of times, including last night. The service was slow. It seems as though there were not enough wait staff. The waitress brought me the wrong drink - bartender error - perhaps. What bothered me was that she did not take care of it right away. I had to ask her twice to do so after I initially explained to her that my drink contained gin instead of vodka. I have had this waitress before things and the service was better, so there may have not been enough waiters. They need different hostesses. Each time I have go in there the hostess is aloof. Not sure why they don't want the first face the customers meet to be a friendly one. I had the lamb cops recently - excellent. read more

We just had our wedding at Granite Links this past weekend. We had a wonderful experience with this venue. We worked with Brooke Bowden and she was the absolute best person you could possibly work with. She listened to our ideas, answered all of our questions, was understanding of our requests and was extremely understanding of our traditions. She is attentive, responds to emails quickly and is very organized. Weddings can be a stressful time but she made everything run smoothly. The day of the wedding everything was organized as we had asked and everything turned out perfectly. Thank you Brooke. This review is for the restaurant, not the golf course. I've wanted to try this place for a long time, but somehow or another, I've never made it their until recently. Was there on Father's day with my old man and his significant other and I cannot speak more positively about the experience. I had the sesame chicken lettuce wraps as an appetizer and the filet mignon for my entree. Both were excellent. In a rare occurrence I actually wanted dessert. Bonus points for having a dessert cart that they bring your table. I ended up getting the chocolate mousse which was both rich and somehow light in texture at the same time. Delicious. As many others have said, the views of the Boston skyline are outstanding. No complaints about service. Was a tad on the pricey side, but considering that we had drinks, meals, and desserts and the quality of what was served, certainly it was worth it. There is no doubt I will be back again. read more
