I've been a regular at Venezia for many years. As someone who has lived in the neighborhood most of my life, Venezia has always felt like more than just a restaurant--it's a place run by genuinely caring people who make you feel like family. The Bruno family, managers, and staff have always been welcoming, often taking a few moments to stop by and chat. Their hospitality is one of the many reasons we frequent there. Last Wednesday, following my father's funeral, our family held a gathering at Venezia in the back room overlooking the water and Boston. The view was wonderful, the food was excellent, and the staff worked incredibly hard to ensure that every guest was taken care of throughout the afternoon. A special thank you to Laurie, who helped coordinate everything from the beginning. She went above and beyond, frequently checking in to make sure everything was running smoothly and that our family had everything we needed during a very difficult time. We stopped into Venezia late one Friday night after a wedding next door. Our entire family migrated over and took over the bar area. Luckily, it must have been quiet in there because at least 30 of us came to the establishment and were served. Some people ordered food, but we did not. The staff was super helpful and kind. The bartender was quick to take our order, even though most of us showed up at the same time. I ordered a moscow mule, which was crisp and delicious. My husband ordered an espresso martini that was, unfortunately, spilled by his cousin. The staff was quick to come clean it up for us as we felt horrible about it happening. The views the establishment had of the Boston Harbor were absolutely stunning at night. We went outside and checked out some jelly-fish in the marina attached to it, too. We came to Venezia as a group of 14 women for a girls dinner outing, and overall had a great time! First off, I appreciate the fact that they have parking (a win in Boston), and the view is stunning even just from the lot. You can see the water before you even walk in, and it definitely sets the vibe, so soothing! The restaurant itself is tucked down a long mirrored corridor which I absolutely used for photo ops because why not? They also have a function hall, so there was a lot of movement as there was an event going on. It took about 5-7 minutes for someone to greet us at the host stand, which felt a bit long but no big deal. Once seated (we did request a table with a view), the sunset over the water was absolutely beautiful. It really made the night feel special. I started with a Guava cocktail and was genuinely surprised by how good it was as it actually tasted like guava which is a rare find! I had the Chicken Parm, and it was so well done. It was perfectly breaded, just the right amount of crunch, and really flavorful. I left no crumbs. Since we were a big group, we each got different desserts and tried everything on the menu, which made dessert a fun, shareable experience. The tiramisu and the coconut cake were my personal favorites. Our server was friendly and mostly attentive throughout the night, though it was a little tough to get his attention toward the end as the staff seemed more focused on cleaning and wrapping up for closing. The bathroom was clean though the sink was filled with dead fruit flies (they were around the restaurant too). Would definitely go back, especially for a special night or dinner with a view. read more

I came here recently for a wedding ceremony and reception. I'm not certain how much was provided by Venezia and how much by the wedding party (e.g., photography, music), but the overall experience was memorable. It started awkwardly, as our shuttle bus carrying all the guests arrived a few minutes before they were ready to show us into the wedding area. We all had to find free space in the bar/dining area for a few minutes, without knowing what was going on or wondering where the heck we were supposed to be. That was shortly resolved as we were guided into the area for the wedding, bar/lounge, and eventually the reception. The reception area is beautiful, the service is on point, and the food was fine. But it was that table of desserts (plus the wedding cake) that got all the conversation later in the evening. It's too bad it was a gloomy day, because the view of the harbor in nice weather, as a background, would have made it even nicer. read more

The view was beautiful. I reserved a table while visiting Boston and noted that it was our anniversary and we requested a table by the window they sat us by the window. We ordered the tuna appetizer, which was very good and a decent option. Drinks were delicious. I had the short ribs and my husband had the veal Milanese. The Bread was also very good. Service was quick and we did not have to wait at all but staff were professional but not really made us feel welcomed. They were not friendly. read more

I went here with my family last night and there was probably three tables that had people at them in the entire restaurant. The hostess decided to put my family of five including two visiting teens, in the very back corner away from all the tables facing the ocean skyline view that were completely empty. We came here for the ambience in rush hour traffic for 45 minutes. We got seated facing a warehouse in Quincy completely isolated. I raised this with the hostess and she said ok. Those tables are for six and you guys are five. So I said...OK? ...so you have plenty open tables so what's the problem?? We got re-seated to the annoyance of the hostess who had to God forbid...move a chair. The struggle is REAL... Suffice to say, I remember fond memories of this restaurant from 20 years ago, but now it's gonna die just like all the others like Anthony's Pier 4 and Jimmy's because they're outdated and you have rude employees like this lady that completely tarnishes your reputation by being rude to your ONLY customers you barely have outside of a wedding. The food was OK, but I'm never going there again. Honestly, the hostess ruined the entire evening and next time I'll save the $200. Never mind, the bus boy was constantly on his phone in the dining area and in the view of my entire family in the restaurant, which is quite unprofessional if you ask me. And the next customer after us got the SAME treatment and they were like... really are you kidding me? Maybe it's the employees, not the restaurant. Also crème brûlée custard filling shouldn't be brown chunky and burnt. What an infuriating night... read more

I ordered the baked haddock with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The haddock was overcooked and oily, even though I asked for it not to be heavy on the butter/oil. The potatoes tasted like instant potatoes. The asparagus was so woody that I could barely eat half of it. I do not recommend going here for the overpriced and poorly prepared food. Food is quite good although priced about 20 percent higher than it is actually worth. Portions are reasonable. Service is fine, dining room can be noisy when crowded, the low ceiling could probably be sound proofed which would help. Nice view but not exactly "oceanfront". Hotel/function room vibe. Love this restaurant. What a view for starters. Nestled in a cute neighborhood in Dorchester, on the water, with lots of free parking. I stopped there after landing at Logan heading south. A great place to wait out rush hour traffic. I got the swordfish It was delicious. They allowed me to have just veggies with so it was a healthy entree. Walked in on a Sat nite around 5. Sat at bar with 3 others. Barmaid very pleasant and helpful. Great view of water . Apps were eggplant lasagna , stuffed mushrooms and chicken bruschetta. All were very good. We got the specials. 2 orders of Rib Eye and stuffed shrimp. Both cooked to order ...other special for the nite was lobster and seafood over pasta with a cream sauce that I'm told was fantastic. A few martinis...one expresso and another pistachio after entrees with some tiramisu and Crème brûlée that was awesome. Overall a great experience. read more

Five of us went here Saturday evening to celebrate a 60th birthday of a friend.. had a limo take us in and home so we could really enjoy our time out together. The birthday girl chose the restaurant and it did not disappoint. We had 3 different meals which all were very good. Their focaccia bread was without a doubt the best I ever have eaten. We ended up with cioppino which was crazy good..Chicken Limone was wonderful as was the veal Oscar. Our martinis were perfect and our server Chris was amazing.. Group of six, dined on a Sunday evening. The place was rather noisy but we could still converse. Easy parking and nice view of the water. I had veal parmesan, very tender and flavorful . Served with penne pasta. My wife had veal porcini, described as actually being more like veal marsala. With angel hair pasta. Also excellent. Sides of vegetables would have been a la carte. I had a glass of excellent Chianti. Venezia is about 30 minutes from our home (on a good day) but well worth the trip. read more

I went here twice when I was in Boston. Both nights I sat at the bar and my bartenders were Sam and Chris. They were incredible. Service was immaculate, the food was incredible, and there was no fuss about my food allergies and preferences. They also remembered the event I had and asked me about it the second night. I have wanted to come here for a while. We were sat outside, which was nice, it was a bit of a colder night so there were only a few of us outside. Sat at a table without settings when three others did. Eventually took the place settings off another table after the bread came and we didn't have any. After our first drink order our server came back to us after 20 minutes and we needed to call out to him as if we were not there. The bar was quick, when our server came over we did get our drinks quickly. The bread was delicious and kept us full while we waited. One table on the patio had a white table cloth, I was disappointed that we did not. After ordering a $42 meal, it was very good, I had Treasure of the Sea; Maine lobster meat, sea scallops and shrimp tossed with pappardelle pasta, in a pesto cream sauce. What an overall pleasant experience! I had only been there once for a fundraiser quite some time ago. We shared a charcuterie board and Arancini. The entrees were orchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe and cacio e Pepe. We were celebrating an 11 year old's birthday. Dessert was an ice cream trio and flan. The food was okay. Ordered the blackened salmon entree that was served with Orzo and roasted veggies. The orzo and veggies were room temp while my salmon was much hotter. The service was okay as well. Nice black uniforms but nothing over the top. Felt like communication could have been better about wait time. Felt slightly rushed but waited a while for the food. Seems like he waited for all plates to be done at the same time to bring them all out but the foods were finished at different times. I'm guessing that's why some plates had room temp/not hot food. The ambiance was nice. Was with a group which I'm not sure was the best as the restaurant gave me more of a romantic intimate vibe. We weren't the only group as there was a family there with smaller children and a baby. We were the only black patrons for oat of the experience but a lovely well dressed black couple came in towards the end of meal. Appeared like it could have been a proposal night which I felt the scene was completely on brand for. Would I return here in the future?! That's a hard maybe. I've eaten out at many seafood restaurants and their menu was nothing special to write home about. Italian dishes and seafood. Slightly overpriced for length of wait and quality of food. My leftovers were better fresh hot out the microwave the next day. Not exactly the place to bri the kids for dinner but they enjoyed the food. I'll be honest. I looked at the menu and I wasn't totally enthused but my husband insisted to come over here to see the view. So here's the truth, the outdoor patio view is absolutely beautiful considering you see the Boston skyline. The food was quite dull. The meatballs were quite plain with nothing spectacular about it. It was tomato sauce with a slice of melted cheese. The oysters were fine, and the calamari was good but the scallops as a main course where sadly disappointing because they were small and overcooked presented with mashed potatoes and two soggy asparagus. My daughter ordered the linguine with mushrooms and it couldn't have been so plain because the linguine was all overcooked and breaking apart on the plate with a bunch of mushrooms on top. It reminded me of school cafeteria food... Totally uneventful. I did tell the waiter how I felt and he was very good about it so they gave us complimentary tiramisu which was actually pretty good but I don't think they use mascarpone cheese. Here's bottom line, if you want to see the view with a glass of wine and some apps this is a place to go but the food is really not up to standard. It has an opportunity to up its game. The food seemed to cater to people who don't know Italian food and don't really care what good food is. The place caters to a lot of functions and celebrations but that's where it stops because it tasted like typical buffet wedding food. This restaurant has an incredible waterfront location, with a gorgeous city view. Half of it is a venue, the other half is a spacious dining area. The dining room was very busy for a later reservation, but service was good. The house focaccia was delicious. The italian wines are great, with generous pours. We ordered the meatballs and arancini to start, which came out very fast (almost too fast). The speed and manner in which they came out makes me think these are usually "on deck" and always available in the kitchen for fast expo. Regardless, the arancini were great, and the meatballs were good (but a bit dry). Presentation was OK for the whole meal, a little lazy plating, especially for the entrees. We got the steak and the salmon: the steak was perfectly complimented by the onion rings, and the salmon was perfectly cooked. However, the sweet potatoes didn't really seem cohesive, even though delicious. The beet salad was delicious, though the basil aioli was just fine. If I come back I'll definitely try a more "traditional" dish, though it was all very good all things considered. We finished with the lemon cheesecake, which was the perfect size for two people. We went to Venezia for post Valentine's Day dinner for the first time and wanted to check it out because we see it along the highway. What immediately hit us was how loud it was in the restaurant. It was very hard to hear someone even sitting right next to me. The tablecloth we had was initially dirty. We ordered 2 dishes: the roasted salmon and the shrimp carbonara. Both were lacking in flavor, with the carbonara needing lots of salt, and the roasted salmon dry and lacking definition. There was also no spoon for the carbonara, and the waiter only checked up on us once to see how the experience was. read more

We had our wedding at Venezia on 6/29/24 and it was absolutely perfect. Jennifer was our coordinator that we worked with throughout the entire process. She was so helpful and organized during the entire planning phase and truly listened to each one of our requests to make them a reality. The food was phenomenal, we have had so many guests reach out to say how delicious everything was, from the massive cheese display to the portion sizes of the dinners and the dessert table was HUGE. There was plenty of food and plenty of staff to assist all 250 of our guests. As the bride and groom, one staff member, Rob was nearby us all night for any single thing we needed and to ensure we were having a great time. He was so helpful! The timeline of the entire day went off without a hitch, once again thanks to Jen for understanding how we wanted everything to flow and to the entire staff for executing. There were no delays in getting food to tables and the entire ceremony and reception flowed smoothly. The newly renovated second floor space is STUNNING. We had our ceremony up here and it was beautiful. The venue has ocean views on both levels and a beautiful deck that guests were able to use during our reception. I can not recommend Venezia enough for a wedding or any other event - they are truly professionals and experts at what they do. Our day was perfect and we are so happy this was our venue. read more
