I called Granite Lock to see if they would be able to pair a remote I bought online with my Jeep. When arriving at Granite Lock, they gave me printed instructions on how to pair the remote, free of charge. While those didn't work, they were able to refer me to an Auto Repair Business that was able to pair it for $15.00 (while a Jeep Dealer quoted over $50.00 dollars just to pair the remote). You just don't get customer service like that these days. It's nice to know a locksmith exists that is honest, and is not out to make a quick buck! read more

Called Rick at Granite Lock to have my patio sliding glass door lockable from the outside. Granite lock did not disappoint. My husband snapped off his key in the car door on the passenger side, leaving a piece inside the lock and making it impossible to lock the car. We were at Nantasket Beach. Drove to Granite Lock, half hour; parked in the lot and husband went in; came out with a new key and one of the technicians, ten minutes tops; said technician took the broken-off piece out of the lock, ten seconds; charged us twenty freaking dollars. I am very fortunate that I was referred to Granite Lock. I had to replace a very expensive locking mechanism, thanks to a deceitful fly-by-night "locksmith" that unnecessarily destoyed my door handle. Chris at Granite was very helpful and saved me a lot of money. I thought I was looking at $100+ in labor alone, as quoted by the theiving company. But Chris told me how to install the replacement part; It took me roughly 3 minutes. He even rekeyed the new lock for free! Furthermore, he discounted the part; I googled it and his price was better than I could find on the internet, not to mention: no shippping costs. Last week Zack from Granite Lock called first thing in the morning as I requested to set up time to swing by- he was very prompt getting to my new home and sorted out my confusing lock system- deleted all the old codes in my key pad which last owner never used and showed me how to add codes and properly use it- left me a print out too! Zack even was able to swap out my mailbox key. He was very personable and conscientious not to let out my cat while working on both front and back doors and kept in mind my time constraints. One of the few "old school" shops around. They actually know how to FIX old locks for a reasonable price rather then sell you something new that does not really fit right.
