As a pediatric general dentist, I'm seeing 40-80 kids a day - to say my vision is critical is an understatement, and I'd only be trusting my eyes to the best. LASIK has completely changed my daily clinical and non-clinical life, and even 5 or so years after my original surgery date, easily remains one of the best health related expenses I've ever done. For those of you interested in the academic side of things, Dr. Zhu is well credentialed - a Harvard graduated MD, with Ophthalmology residency at the Doheny Eye Institute / USC & Los Angeles County Medical Center. Her fellowship was at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. As if that's not enough, she still does research and mentors upcoming residents. This level of training and active commitment to the medical community as a whole speaks volumes to the caliber of clinician that Dr. Zhu is and aspires to build unto others. Non-academically, Dr. Zhu herself is incredibly personable, and shows an unwavering commitment to her patients - even years later, she personally follows up me multiple times, and is as interested in my own vision outcomes as I am. She is thorough, detail-oriented, and can confidently convey the same depth and breath of knowledge to her patients. Due to my correction being borderline for the limits of LASIK, all contingencies were planned for to ensure excellent outcomes. Even years later, I have not had a single post-op complication, including zero days of dry eyes. Dr. Zhu is an amazing eye surgeon, and more importantly, an awesome human being. I'm absolutely ecstatic about the care I've received, and cannot recommend Dr. Zhu any more highly.

Some of you might be like me and have extremely high myopia and want the vision freedom. From my experience, I researched ICL surgery since 2019. Once EVO ICL was FDA approved, I started looking for a surgeon for advice and see if I was a candidate. Before choosing IQ Laser Vision, I had gone to a different surgeon and he did say I was a EVO ICL candidate, however I was not impressed by him. I was later referred to IQ Laser Vision, where they contacted me and scheduled an appointment to see if I was a candidate. Their multiple offices made it easy for me to go meet with an advisor and doctor. However, with personal reasons, I was unable to get the surgery done during that year after that initial consult and going through their state of the art arcscan (apparently they're the only office that are using this technology to make sure to see if your eye has enough space/vault...very cool). Fast forward March 2026, I contacted IQ laser vision again in hopes that maybe I can ask them for another consult. Again, the advisor walked me through, doctors did their check up, arcscan again (still cool) and I was able to schedule my surgery. It was an honor to have Dr. Robert Lin be available to do my EVO ICL surgery. He was incredibly patient with my questions, listened to my story of researching this procedure, and I knew I was in good hands from someone who had worked on so many eyes. Perhaps my favorite part aside from the whole journey of vision correction and having 20/20 vision is that you can feel how much Dr. Lin cared for his patients. He called me personally to make sure my first day post surgery was ok. And even after 4 months later, he contacted me to make sure I was ok and how I am liking my vision. For those who are like me going back and forth about vision correction, I highly recommend making an appointment/consult to see if you can be a candidate. From there you can move forward and make that decision. I know it was later than I anticipated for myself, but I can truly say I am happy having that peace of mind that I can wake up and see, not have to worried about my glasses/contacts during a possible evacuation (fire or earthquake), and do water sport without fear of infections if I wore my contacts. That mental peace is probably the second to best part of this journey.

At 41, I've started to think that advancements in eye correction technology are much more promising than what has been available in the past. Surgery can be a daunting experience, especially when it involves your eyes. However, I encourage you to try the "Evo ICL" it's safe and has improved since last year. One of the best parts about this procedure is that if you're not satisfied with the results, or if a better option comes along, you can reverse the treatment. So, there's really no major risk if it doesn't work out. I qualified for the "Evo" ICL, and while I had my doubts at first, I've learned that patience is key when adjusting to a new way of seeing. Along with eye drops to aid the healing process, I found that after about three months, my eyes began to coordinate and adjust. What was once a constant dependency on glasses is now improving, and I'm starting to feel more normal without them. It's funny; I still find myself touching my face to lift imaginary glasses that no longer exist--it's just a habit! I highly recommend this option to anyone who wants to change their vision, whether it's for practical reasons, like gaming without glasses or to keep up with future technologies like AI glasses. As technology continues to advance, my previous vision issues made it difficult to enjoy some of these innovations. This procedure has truly helped me.

Hello, I would like…read moreto file a formal complaint about my daughter's recent visit. When I first called, I was told that the clinic was very busy and that there were no available appointments. Later, I received a call back saying that the doctor could see my daughter at 2:15 PM. I was very grateful and agreed to the appointment. I was then asked to arrive by 1:45 PM, so I rearranged my schedule and rushed to the clinic to make sure we arrived on time. However, even though we arrived as instructed, my daughter was not seen by the doctor until approximately 2:45 PM. We waited for more than an hour after arriving early. I understand that medical offices can become busy, and I appreciated that the clinic called me back and offered an appointment. However, asking us to arrive early and then making us wait that long was already extremely frustrating. What made the situation much worse was that, after the examination, the prescription was not sent to the pharmacy. Because of this, we were unable to pick up the medication that day. The only reason I searched for another clinic was because my daughter's regular eye doctor was off that day. I wanted her to be examined and begin treatment even a few hours earlier. Instead, after rushing to the clinic, waiting for over an hour, and completing the examination, her treatment was still delayed because the prescription was not properly sent. In the end, I would have been better off simply waiting until the next day to see her regular eye doctor. This experience wasted our time, delayed my daughter's treatment, and caused unnecessary stress and frustration. I would like this complaint to be documented and forwarded to the appropriate manager. I also expect an explanation as to why the prescription was not sent and what steps will be taken to prevent this from happening to another patient.

Everything was explained on what to expect and the aftercare. I got the procedure done with Dr. Liu and she also was very reassuring and informative answering all questions I had, talked me through the whole procedure and during which was very quick and painless only mild pressure. I was definitely a bit nervous but it does help to relax as much as possible, they gave me a stress ball to keep and music options! I was immediately able to somewhat see aside from the blurriness. After sleeping I woke up and noticed immense vision improvement with slight blurriness. I'm definitely happy I got it done and love the results already! We show up at 11:45 am just for the front desk to tell us that they can't find our appointment in their system. So why have Zocdoc set up in your yelp if you have a different system??? What an inconvenience and hassle, since we have planned our day out already. Now we have to wait until 1pm to be seen by a doctor as they had to squeeze us in for an appointment. And on top of that, the front desk were not even apologetic or nice about it, just all attitude. Gee, thanks. We come back at 1pm, obviously we were already not impressed. Just walking in the front door, and the whole process. This review is solely regarding about their appointment system and customer service and the whole appointment process felt like rushed and impersonal, Dr Zhu did not even come by to meet us even though she was there, not even a peep at the door. We came here for a second opinion and also exploring our options--but it turns out the first place we went to yesterday which is IQ Laser vision (which is also down the street) is far more superior with their customer service, patient treatment and just the entire process--everyone there was top notch professional as you walked in the door. I am glad that going here in Hyperspeed Lasik validated our decision making into choosing IQ Laser vision.

First, it was nearly impossible to even make the appointment--I was on hold for close to 4 hours just to get scheduled. When I finally arrived at the office, the receptionist claimed they hadn't received the authorization from my PCP--even though that form was required for me to even book the appointment in the first place. After I had my PCP resend the authorization directly to them, the office then told me my insurance was not valid. As someone who works in HR and processes employee benefits, I knew this made no sense. Because I was in so much pain, I paid upfront just to see the doctor and planned to sort out the insurance later. My insurance claim was processed and paid on 4/11/25, but as of 9/15/25 I still haven't received my refund for the upfront payment. To make matters worse, the reception staff and billing department were extremely rude and unhelpful. I've been calling every two weeks for the past five months, and no one has provided any real updates or resolution. Avoid this place at all costs. Between the unprofessional staff, lack of communication, and failure to issue refunds in a timely manner, this has been one of the worst healthcare experiences I've ever had.
