My gas stove stopped heating. Called Grant's, charged me $80 to tell me that a resistor was bad on the control.board dis nothing else except to sit at my dining room table to preach politics for 30 minutes, a waste of time. If only there was a negative star rating. Steve the owner showed up about 15 minutes after the latest time he said he would be out, also this was over a month after he said he would have the dish washer repaired by and many unpleasant/rude interactions between him and my mother. I was home alone waiting for his arrival since she was out. I asked him if he had all the parts and would be able to repair our dishwasher and he said he should be able to. After about 20 minutes he informed me that he couldn't repair the dishwasher because he could not get it out from underneath the countertop. I called my mother and she said to ask for a refund for everything but the service call. When I hung up with my mother I walked up to the kitchen counter while Steve stood on the other side, and asked him if there was any way he would be able to repair the dishwasher either today or in the future. He said he needed to pull the dishwasher out from underneath the countertop in order to repair it, and further stated that he had been doing this work for 42 years and HE could not get the dishwasher out. I clarified one last time that there was no physical way that he could repair the dishwasher and then defeatedly sighed that we would probably have to go with another company then since he could not performed the repair. He sneered in a very condescending voice, "If that is the way you want to play the game." My mouth fell open but when I recovered from my shock at his behavior, I informed him there was no game we needed the dishwasher repaired and he informed me he could not repair it. I also said that we would be needing a refund on everything but the service call. He got aggressive and said loudly while holding up a copy of the invoice and shaking/violently prodding the invoice from the other side of the breakfast bar " that we wouldn't be getting a refund on anything. And that it states that there are no refunds for specialty parts." I was alone and I am a petite woman and him shouting at me in my own home was rather disconcerting so I immediately informed him that he needed to leave my house at once while opening the door and stepping to the other side of the family room, (out of arm's reach as I felt frightened/threatened). As he walked by me I informed him calmly that if he wouldn't refund us we might seek legal means to recoup our monetary losses. And he yelled over his shoulder, " don't threaten me it won't do you any good". He then stormed out. I would like to add that he took a box with him that I am ASSUMING contained the parts that we paid for. He took what we had purchased for the repair. I decided not to make a stink because if he got so aggressive over me stating that we simply had to go with another company since he could not actually do the repair, me asking for the parts might set him off further and as I previously stated I was home alone. The most interesting part of this review is that we had another company come out they were able to get the dishwasher out in under two minutes and have everything fixed within a week. When the new repair men pulled the dishwasher out my mother and I asked if there was any way possible, anyone could have diagnosed what what's wrong with our dishwasher without pulling it out. They confidently stated, "Absolutely not!" So we waited months for a repair that never happened, he did not leave us the parts that we paid for and he CLAIMED to have ordered (though I never saw said parts, only a box), and made me feel unsafe in my own home. Only go with this company if you enjoy hassles, headaches, not actually getting the service or things you paid for, being screamed at and feeling unsafe in your own house!!!!!! read more

Beware! I called Grant's Appliance Repair to have them repair a dishwasher leak and Steve the owner came out on April 13th. He "diagnosed the leak" without even pulling the dishwasher out! He said he would order the parts and it would take around 4 weeks to get the parts. I gave him more than 50% as a deposit on the job. At 5 weeks after not hearing from him, I called and spoke with him and tried to find out the deliver date of the parts and an installation date, and he said he didn't have a tracking number (when has a shipping company never given a tracking number?) and he was very rude. At 8 weeks I contacted him again and stated that if he could not repair it by the end of the following week, I'd like a refund so that I could call another company to fix it. He set an appointment to come out and repair it for June 18th and 2 minutes before his estimated time arrival he cancelled and said he didn't have the parts on his truck, so he wasn't coming. He came out again on June 22nd. My daughter was home and he said to her he couldn't fix it because he couldn't get the dishwasher out. So my daughter called me and I asked her to request a refund. She stated to him if he could not fix it, then we needed another company to fix it. He said "if that's the way you want to play the game". She said, "what game? If you can't fix it, don't we need someone else to?" She then asked for a refund. He shouted his receipt clearly states no refund on parts, which it does, however, he was unable to fix the dishwasher, and he left with the parts which I paid for! I called another company that came out, pulled out the dishwasher in less than 2 minutes and showed me the broken part that was causing the leak. It was not what Steve Grant said he ordered. The new repair service said there was no way the leak could have been diagnosed without pulling out the dishwasher. This other company ordered the parts and repaired the dishwasher within a week. If I could give a zero, I would. Called three weeks ago, left messages on voice mail, would like dryer repaired. Never received a return call. Husband finally called, got someone on the phone, scheduled repair. Serviceman came, friendly, knowledgeable, repaired dryer, paid him; no problem. Lasted two weeks. Called again twice, two separate days, never a return call. Called a third time, someone answered. Said he had called our number back and we didn't answer the phone and no voicemail. We do have answering machine, furthermore we've been home the whole time. We didn't miss the call. Then when I told him that, he told me to find a new repairman. The person answering the phone is driving away business. If you need someone to pick on you, call this guy. read more

Absolutely horrible. I hired them to fix a washing machine with busted bearings. The final cost was over $500 and took 5 weeks to complete. What is a family with a 3 months old to do without a washer for that long? When I did finally get the machine back and installed they demanded payment or threatened to take the machine back. I said I wanted to test the machine and see for myself and was told they can't do that. The man was very rude and condoscending to me during the whole process. It's been less than 10 months and the exact same part broke again! When I called to find out exactly what was replaced so I could look into a warranty I was told the repair warranty was only 90 days and that sometimes these things happen. It was my understanding they basically built me a band new machine, which is why the repair took over a month, they continued ordering more parts. Why do other appliance repair shops say bearings should last 10 years, and I barely got 10 months? They never called me back with a list of items replaced so I could contact ge about part warranty. I doubt they even bought get parts. Absolute scam and rude people. Oh, and I know the "repair guy" is also the owner. When I asked to talk with the owner I was told he was on vacation. Interesting that the owners Facebook picture looks exactly like the repair guy. Very classy... read more
