Came here on a Tuesday night out with the girls. We had our eyes set on Granville and wanted to trying their menu. The main dining area has no wait, but the rooftop did. Nonetheless, it was only 15-20 minutes. I really liked the decoration and the overall design of the restaurant. We were seated at the rooftop area. Super cute area with fake succulents / candles~ We got some alcohol and they were quickly served within 10 minutes. The problem, though, was the food. It was served a whole hour after our drinks. Everything felt sooooo slow. We were starving by then! I had the Angel hair pasta and it was okay. Our server was very nice and helpful throughout our night. read more

This place is so amazing!!!!! The Mac and cheese was the most amazing thing ever. The chicken soup was also absolutely delightful! I cannot wait to come back to California and eat at this place again!! I got a glade of wine, the soup and Mac and cheese and the total was $38 with tip!!! That is a great price for the food and the fancy restaurant! Only thing that was annoying was that we couldn't go to the rooftop after dinner because it reached capacity! Granville has tons of seating and very friendly staff! They constantly made sure my friend and I had our waters filled and asked if we needed anything! The pastas were pretty good! The spicy pasta lacked spice and both of them weren't salted enough in my opinion. Regardless the ambience was very nice! I will definitely be back for the rooftop bar. read more

Came here for a girls brunch, we were mmmming the entire time we were here the food was excellent! Every bite was better then the last. Can definitely taste the freshness of the delicious food that is made here. Our server David really made our experience great, he smiled and was patient when we decided on what to get since everything looked so good. He recommended the picante pineapple margarita and It was everything! You have to try this place and hopefully u get him as your waiter he was just as great as the food! For food we order the Mac and cheese, in my belly pork bowl, chicken noodle soup, mushroom risotto with chicken, and sweet potatoes fries ( which u usually j dont mess with but these are to diiiiiie for!) This place is super cute! Loved the set up and decor. If it wasn't so hot I would definitely have wanted to sit on the rooftop. Will definitely have to come back for that! The food: We had the sweet potato fries which were amazing! They have what I think is a hint of rosemary and it was perfect. It's served with ketchup, ranch, and blue cheese. I had the butternut squash soup and it was pretty good, not my favorite that I've ever had but definitely good. I had the butter lettuce wraps with shrimp. I wish you could get a different protein for the 3 wraps, but you can only choose one. They were good, a bit messy and next time I think I would get the steak instead of the shrimp. There is a lot of flavors going on in them and I feel like the shrimp flavor kind of gets lost in the wrap. My friend had the turkey cranberry sandwich and she loves it, her second time getting it. It's served with chips that I tasted and they are good and super crunchy. Then we shared the dessert trio. OMG the devils chocolate cake is amazing. My favorite all time dessert is chocolate molten lava cake and it resembled that. It was warm and gooey. The berry shortcake my friend loved, I thought it was good but probably my least favorite of the three. The brownie with brûlée'd bananas was super good too! Wish the brownie was warm but it was delish. The brownie has nuts in it, my friend doesn't care for nuts so if you dont like nuts this one isn't for you but it was really good paired with the banana. Our entire night of celebrating was ruined And all you could say is I'm sorry, and in the future if we're unhappy with our table, we could ask to be moved! After waiting 45 minutes for a table damn place in our drinks and appetizer order is when we realized the sun was too intense. you expect us to asked to be moved and then wait another 45 minutes for another table as there was at least 10 other parties waiting for tables. It's not realistic Granville, and you should learn to treat your customers with more respect than that. read more

Went here on a Monday for lunch to try out their Dine LA menu. The space is so clean and nice! We chose to sit upstairs on the rooftop. The Dine LA was $25 per person and you get 3 courses. I got the mac & cheese, spicy pasta, and cherry chip ice cream. The mac & cheese was delicious and so was the spicy pasta! I wasn't a huge fan of the ice cream, but it was only because it was too sweet for me. My friend got the tomato bisque and that was also really, really good. The server was attentive and friendly. I wanted to give my dad an early Father's Day celebration, so we went here on a weekday lunch. The wait was 45 minutes, probably because all of the office workers Opps! But oh wait, they have an express area and there was seating for 6! We grabbed the table right away. I distinctly remember when this was a run down furniture store, but the space is so pretty! And and and.... the food is delicious! We got a bunch of different plates, and generally everyone was happy, but we are a little smarter if we go again. 1. The poke bowl was for my 7 year old because he loves poke. However, there is a noodle salad in the middle of the bowl and it's pretty spicy. Next time we'll ask for something else, or ask for it non-spicy. 2. Mrs. C's caprese sandwich has a tapenade spread, and she hates olives! Luckily, we had a flatbread + hummus appetizer, so she switched pieces of bread and was happy. 3. I CLEARLY ordered the best because my Santa Barbara chicken sandwich is this gooey mix of cheese, chicken and carmelized onion, and was just so dang good. The servers were so polite and didn't want to reach over my mom or dad to pass a plate, but since the space was so tight we said that we would pass the plates for them. However, that's a really nice touch, and our server kept stopping by to refill our water, and make sure that all the food arrived. Run, don't walk to Granville. You know the only people who give this place more than 2 stars think Claim Jumper is a Michelin star restaurant. Brussel sprouts were burnt. Fries were good, but I can get better fries at McDonalds. Drinks were ok even though it took waitress 20 min to get it. Everything else we ordered was non-memorable or inedible. People in Pasadena don't know what good food is. Everything tastes like it was Kirkland/Costco's frozen food. I reserve 5 stars for great food experiences. 4 stars for places I would come back to. 3 stars as ok experience. Honestly I wish I could give this place a 3.5 instead. The only things that saved this place was the view and the food. Our party waited a long time to be seated and it felt as if the staff was not coordinated in their communication. After waiting an hour, we were finally seated. The servers took our order and that was great, but the wait for the food was not great. The server also failed to check up on us. The server walked close to our table then did not check on us. We were also approached by several different people bringing repeat condiments which validated our thoughts that the staff don't communicate. I made a reservation for 2 at 9 PM Monday night, which was the earliest available, but I saw some reviews saying you could walk in before this time. I tried calling twice before 6 PM but no one answered, so we decided to come over around 8 to see if we could be seated earlier. Their system was extremely confusing- the hostess at the front entrance told us the waitlist was very long but that we were checked in and would be texted when our table was ready. We started to walk down Lake and I called while walking to ask about the rooftop and was suddenly told we could be seated! We hurried back and sat before 8:15. The floor structure is also confusing- there is the 1st floor: the left side is normal seating, the right front is the bar and the right back is more normal seating. The second floor has the restrooms and seating and then there is the rooftop bar, which is a bar only, not for meals. The menu is overall the same as the Glendale location and delicious as normal. Too bad they were out of sangria tonight, because the Tipsy Lemonade isn't all that amazing. Our server was sweet and attentive. read more

This was my first time going to the Grandville. The vibe when you walk in is relaxed but upbeat. All of the servers were cheerful and helpful, they had a great vibe about them. Even though it was crowded, it did not feel crowded. The food was great, the steak was cooked perfect, my Wasabbi mashed potatoes were nice and fluffy and cleared my sinuses. My coworker had The thick cut pork chop, from what I could tell she enjoyed it. Granville is a fabulous addition to Pasadena's Lake Avenue scene of restaurants. This is especially welcoming since there have been some closures of dining establishments. Very much like both their West Hollywood, Studio City, Glendale and Burbank locations, the food is excellent for a semi-formal to the casual dining experience. Their sandwiches are deliciously crafted and well balanced. Entrees such as their chops and fish are also equally good along with their lighter affair of salads. Granville, also offers a catering menu for your office luncheons. Of course, there are limitations due to preparations and consideration for delivery. Nonetheless, they still do a very good job in which I have use many times. The addition of Pasadena feels like a crowning example and I am certainly happy to see they have been careful in keeping their branding alive and great execution of service and quality. read more

Let me start off by saying that this restaurant is pretty good! There is plenty of parking in the back of the restaurant. Get a reservation so that you do not have to wait long, the wait can be pretty long without one. The food is really good and the group I was with let me know that the drinks were really good and worth trying. They have a whole host of different options ( my group suggested the cucumber martini ). I ordered the chipotle chicken club and the turkey club. The food came out pretty quick and was really good. I ordered fries and sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries are the way to go for sure. They offer ketchup and ranch, but I suggest asking for a side of the chipotle aoli for the sweet potato fries. The butter cup lettuce wraps were worth trying as well. The grilled cheese dippers were very delicious. I kind of want to try their Mac And cheese starter, that one looked very good. My friend liked their burger a lot. I got the chipotle sandwich at the recommendation of a staff member and found it very mediocre. The fries were really good though, but I don't know about the sandwich. The vibe was also amazing but I think what really brings down the review is that sandwich and our waitress accidentally gave us the wrong bill which was way more expensive than ours. No matter what time of day I am sure you are going to have parking issues. The parking is behind the building but tends to be busy because of all the other shops around. You can find parking in front of Granville on the street or in the back on the one way street as well. I would also recommend you make an reservation if you are wanting to be there for dinner. We did not make a reservation so we waited at the bar by having a drink and some conversation. Whiskey Smash - Bourbon, cointreau, lemon juice and mint. What a refreshing, light and flavorful drink. For the most part I am a beer drinker but this was a nice drink to transition to liquor. If not careful you can have more than one drink in less than an hour. Picante Pineapple Margarita - Luna azul reposado, smoked jalapeno and pineapple. Nice smokey flavor with a little kick and also refreshing. A must try if you want a little spice in yo' life. When you have a good server it makes your experience that much more enjoyable. Our Server for the night was Faith and she was on point. The best part about her aside from being friendly and welcoming she went over the menu and recommended what were her favorites and what was most popular. Once she went over the menu we took some time to go over things and placed our order. We always like to get a little bit of everything and share and that's exactly what we did. Uptown Mac & Cheese - aged cheddar, gruyere, chicken, asparagus and peas. Asparagus, what a great addition to the mac & cheese and nice texture profile. This was very enjoyable, cheesy and flavorful. Mediterranean flatbread - smoked mozzarella, tasso ham, salsa verde, sun-dried tomatoes, kalamata olives, fresh herbs, arugula and red onion. Can you really go wrong with a flat bread? I don't think so. Nice thin crust with the saltines from the olives and cheese and the flavorful sun-dried tomatoes was a good flavor profile. The only bad thing was the pesto it had on it. The menu say's chile verde but it was pesto and my wife is allergic so I had to handle the flatbread all by my self. That was not a problem. Southwest Burger - Poblano chili, cheddar cheese, pure cane bacon, red onion with chipotle aioli. Now this was a burger! The patty was about an inch thick cooked medium and perfect. Very juicy and flavorful along with the poblano chilis, cheddar and bacon gave this burger a party in every bite. Of course with a side of fresh fries that were also very good and crispy. I defiantly will be going back and hopefully the next time the roof top is open, so we can check it out. It was closed due to the rain so that was a bummer. I decided to leave this review after I just read someone talk bad about the spicy pasta dish and I am upset. I came here this past November for the first time and let me tell you, I cannot stop thinking about how good that spicy pasta with shrimp was!! It was absolutely delicious and so were the grilled cheese dippers and my husband's skirt steak dinner. Everything was delightful and the only downside was maybe having a slow waiter, but that didn't bother us too much because the food was so good. Definitely 10/10 for food. Granville Pasadena has some major kinks to work out. I have gone to the Granvilles in Glendale and Burbank and both of those seem much larger or maybe they aren't as popular because there is never a long wait. The Granville in Pasadena has a beautiful large rooftop space, however, I have only seen it in pictures on Yelp Given it was 96 degrees today, the roof wasn't open at lunch which makes total sense but it seemed to have cut the seating capacity drastically too. My group of 3 adults and a toddler opted for the "quick service" side because we were quoted an hour and 15 minutes for a table on the full service side. It was also Dine LA which was an amazing value. For $20 you get a non alcoholic drinks, a small appetizer, an entree and a dessert. We got: a chicken noodle soup, a Chili, and a soba noodle salad for our starters. The chicken noodle soup was apparently amazing. It had a giant matza ball in addition to the usual chicken noodle ingredients. The chili was okay but not very hot in terms of temperature. The soba noodle salad had a tasty ginger dressing but lacked soba noodles. As for entrees, I would highly recommend the white fish. It's huge, perfectly grilled and comes with a great little beet salad. The large couscous it comes with isn't good but the fish more than makes up for that. I would not recommend the "get in my pork belly" dish. It comes with lots of soba noodles, however they are doused in a weird spicy sauce. Also the pork belly had sooo much fat. I know pork belly is always really fatty but the three pieces I got were close to 80 percent fat and 20 percent meat. The chicken club was fine but it tasted like a chicken club from anywhere. The timing of the dishes was terrible. The soup and chilli came out way before the salad and drinks. And the adult entrees came out before the kids meal which was strange given how simple (and undercooked) the kids dish was. Speaking of the kids menu...straight up awful. The bowtie pasta in my son's "butter noodles" was super al dente, they were inedible. We sent it back and got a Mac and Cheese which was an equally terrible choice. It was like Mac and cheese soup. Next time, we'll just order an entree from the regular menu and take the leftovers home. read more

A long wooden ladder accesses the top shelf of comprehensive bar bottles, the rungs still short of the tall ceiling adorned by orb-like glass fixtures, their light combining with the natural supply from wide windows, bouncing off of golden framed mirrors, Victorian style paisley wallpaper, leather lined booths and wooden communal tables making for an environment of elegant chic. Star Four: Nurturing. Shareable appetizer of sauteed onions within grilled cheese triangles to dip in a tomato bisque serves as perfect comfort food and setup for what was arguably the best bacon blue cheese burger in the LA county, the food alone worth being a returning patron to an eatery akin to the soothing of a mother's bosom. Star Five: Dynamic. A crowd gathered around the host's stand served as the first sign of the upbeat vibe for options of either a "quick" seating or a longer experience of what served as a restorative energy during merely lunch on a Tuesday. If the other locations of Granville are as outstanding as the recently opened venue on Lake Avenue in Pasadena, then this franchise is destined for greatness as it scores high marks in every category relevant to rating, not the least of which is overall value of experience. Our only hope is that their domination becomes akin to Amazon so that they expand into Northern Idaho as we enjoyed our lunch so much it momentarily made us reconsider our relocation. read more

Had a wonderful first visit for date night with my husband at Granville. We walked in and were greeted by a friendly hostess who told us it would be about an hour for seating at the rooftop, which was expected since it was a Friday evening in Pasadena, or immediate seating indoors. We decided to wait since we wanted to try out the rooftop. We sat at the downstairs bar to wait in the meantime. The bartender was fantastic, very friendly and attentive, I wish I would have remembered his name. Great vibes, we ordered a grill cheese to snack on with our drinks while we waited to be seated. The grilled cheese was so delicious! It honestly was one of the best ones I've ever had. We ended up getting called up in less than 40 minutes, sweet! Stepping up to the rooftop, very chic and modern. There was another bar on the rooftop. We were greeted by a really friendly waitress who seated us right away. I ordered the New York steak and my husband ordered the pork chop. The food came out pretty quickly. I was a little surprised at the sweetness my steak had since generally steaks I've had tend to lean on the saltier side. But still very good. Overall we had a wonderful night. My only complaint is that I wish the rooftop was 21+ only. Everything about the restaurant caters towards an adult crowd. But unfortunately since it's not 21+ only, people bring along their small kids who, with all honesty, ruin some of the vibes. So I would just suggest possibly making the rooftop 21+ only. One of my fav go to spot for when I am enjoying a dish by myself and reading a play. Bartender was soo friendly even though sometimes I don't order a cocktail. I like to enjoy a black Cherry fountain soda on occasion and scarf down those bomb kettle cooked chippies. Their menu never ceases to impress. My wife and I came here with our 1 year old son yesterday for dinner. We were told there was a 30 minute wait, so we waited near the door. Our son started to cry for about a minute or two while we had walked in. After just a few minutes a woman came up to us to tell us that we had no business coming to a restaurant at night, that we should be home with our baby and many other disrespectful things to shame us for bringing him along. Immediately a waitress came up to us and brought us straight to a table, apologized and told us a manager would be coming to speak with us. After just a couple minutes Steve came over to us to apologize again and to tell us that he asked the woman and what seemed to be her husband to leave. After being completely ridiculed in front of many people I cant tell you how amazing it felt to know that this place wasn't going to tolerate that. The service throughout our meal was outstanding and the food was cooked perfectly. The ambiance is also great and the bar is pretty cool as well. We will 100% be coming back to Granville, whether its to enjoy the amazing rooftop bar on date night or even to bring our son back so he can enjoy another round of mashed potatoes. read more
