We love this spot as a great stop in between Sacramento & Redding to stretch your legs---shopping, browsing, & eating. We have stopped here numerous times. If you have a pizza craving while traveling, this is the place! The deli is busy & they make good sandwiches for the road or eat there. Their olive /snack shop is fun to shop around & sample olives. This day, we ate in the restaurant. We both had the steak sandwich which was good (little bit tough though, on toasted garlic bread), I had side green salad & my husband had a hardy portion of waffle sweet potato fries. read more

Disappointing...Purchased a ten dollar regular sized chicken breast sandwich. The breast was plain and the wheat bread was hard. I had to warm up the sandwich in the microwave and add some sliced jalapeno's and Sriracha to even finish it. I'm sticking to the taco stands in the area. read more

The gift shop is awesome. I love all the olive's, honey, hot sauce and BBQ rubs. But the restaurant was completely instant food and over priced. I had the hot turkey sandwich open faced and the gravy was a brown instant gravy. My girlfriend ordered the fettuccine alfredo and it was the same noodles I bought from Costco. My girls ordered macaroni and cheese and it was Kraft macaroni and cheese just with so much butter it was hardly edible. I would suggest going to the gift shop / Deli but I would avoid the restaurant. This is the second time I've been there and have been disappointed. read more

Stopped here based on a recommendation from a friend. Daily special was prime rib. Turned out to be prime rib warmed on the flat top. I didn't know you could over cook prime rib. Recommend you give this a pass. read more

Located in the middle of no where on I5, Bar very hunteresque with stuffed elk, big horn sheep, lots of endangered species. Meals are huge, bland, tasteless. Could do better to cut the portions and improve the quality. See your favorite food groups lose their battle for recognition. One heck of a roadstop on the way up I-5 where the usual grub is fast food awfulness! We had a hearty breakfast/lunch in the restaurant on the way up. On the way back, I *had* to try the gelato, so we opted for the sandwiches from the expansive deli - which they let us bring in to the sports bar so we could watch some of the Giants game while we ate. The gelato was everything that I had hoped for and more. Delicious!!! It was so creamy and the different flavors were interesting. What a fun place! A Cracker Barrel for hunters. Spend some time in the sports lounge even if you eat in the main dining room. More mounted heads than I have ever seen and two stuffed Polar bears. A great gelato bar and a wonderful bottled beer selection. I was able to buy bottles of Belhaven Scottish Ale that I have never seen anywhere. If you are going to be between Sacramento and Redding this is the place to stop. read more

On a road trip trying to find that great food spot. Was looking on yelp for upcoming place and saw this place. I was so hungry and sick of fast food. Needed a good sandwich. Granzella's couldn't have been more of a homerun. Honestly probably the top five sandwich joint been to in California from So Cal to Nor Cal. They pile it on and everything is fresh. I went with make ur own with two meats the garlic turkey and roast beef, on dutch crunch just freaking great. Cool little shop to walk around and find a cool gift or other foods. My fiance & I love Granzella's. We stop here everytime we drive by. Thier bread is the best part of their sandwichs. I'm kind of picky eater & they have never messed up my order before. We also like that they have a deli that will make you a sandwich to go, a bar (that also serves food) and a resturant so they have food for whatever we feel like when we stop. read more

Breakfast here this morning on our return trip up I-5 to Washington State. Very convenient location, fast service, good food, plenty of variety on the menu. Our waitress was excellent....especially considering the early morning hour. Wow...got to try the homemade biscuits although I'll bet you can't eat a whole one. They are tasty monsters. The restaurant facility is most interesting with a fine deli with plenty of local delicacies to take home as gifts. This place also serves Heinz ketchup and Smuckers jams which are very solid brands...might be a clue that they strive for quality. read more

Highly dissapointed. I have been going there for years and the sandwiches were over the top awesome.. I bragged to my husband about this place and recommended we stop there. The prices were expensive and the food was aweful. My rueben was so soggy I could haedly pick it up. It was tiny and came with a thin slice of a pickel. Not even a wedge! It was a pretty basic jack of all trades small town place. It's got everything and I mean everything. It had a diner, pizzeria, sports bar, market, gelato that looked amazing, tons of craft beer, taxidermy, olice tasting, meats and cheeses, wine bar, a hotel, a gift shop and corporate offices. Talk about having a monopoly on a tiny town. I'm actually most excited about the bottled beer selection. The wait staff wasn't friendly, but they were super fast and efficient. Our food arrived 5 minutes after ordering. I think all in all we were only in there for half an hour. The food wasn't terrible. It was pretty decent. Food gets a 3 but the entire shebang gets a 4. read more

The Superbird. On their famous sourdough roll, consists of layers of fabulous turkey, avocado, cream cheese, cranberry and all things delicious. They have a vast selection of beer's and soda. And while you wait for your sandwich you can peruse the ice cream section, and taste the olives to your heart's delight. I recommend the garlic stuffed ones. Mmmm. read more

Quality one stop shop in the middle of point A and B. Nice spread of deli, espresso, gelato and Murica memorabilia. Sports bar and restaurant included in this rest stop locale. Deli is definitely the highlight as it is well supplied and reminiscent of the "old neighborhood". Food was average in flavor, quality and portion size. Exception being the gravy - as there seems to be a magically endless supply. Service was full of smiles and winks. Only thing holding this place back from 4 stars was a bit of freestyle order taking. As a Bay Area local I took advantage of eating a country breakfast while passing through the country. Sadly this place is far over priced and fall's extremely short of satisfying. A simple two egg breakfast (no meat) county potatoes and a glass of water...$9.76!!! Aging being from the Bay Area I'm accustomed to getting what you pay for. This breakfast honestly was worth $5.00 and frankly taste horrible. Granzellas is a rip off made specifically for tourists, all local residents know better. Great smiling waitresses ;) read more

Easy to get to from the 5. Ate at the restaurant, wish it was a little cleaner but food was pretty good. Nice selection on their store side of salami's, cheeses and candies. It was quite busy when we arrived but seemed like the store was running smoothly regardless. Would like to visit again one day. read more

We have been here about 3 times. For the price the food really isn't that great. The best experience with the food we had was with the pizza. It was pretty good. We came in tonight and I ordered spaghetti with meat sauce. When it was brought to me it looked really good. But I was so disappointed when I took a bite and it had literally no hint of flavoring at all. Kind of disappointing for a 16 dollar plate of spaghetti. I thought the garlic bread would help, but it wasn't good either. The only flavoring it had on it was huge chunks of garlic. Probably won't be back because the price of the food doesn't match up to the quality or taste of the food. Staff has been very friendly tho with every visit. read more

It was my very first time visiting Grandzellas in Williams California and I was so excited to try this so called "Famous" deli and all I wanted was a hand made milkshake, so I walked past about five employees behind the counter and looked at the ice cream behind the glass and made my choice and waited patiently. Few minutes past and I looked at another customer in confusion as we both have not been acknowledge. Im looking directly at the employees who continue to laugh at whatever they been taking about for the post ten minutes by now. Finally a young lady comes to the counter to take my order and I tell her I would like a strawberry cheesecake milkshake to which she replied they can only make them out of only 4 flavors. Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, or some coffee flavor because the gelato would use more then regular ice cream. Apparently they are not allowed to use the good flavors at Grandzellas or even give a option to pay more to have a milkshake the way you would like it. read more

This is a safe place to eat if you're a stranger in town. The beef ribs are good. The salad bar and 2 soups are as good as you make them, nothing to write home about. The lasagne was a bust. My first time eating here. I will never eat here again!!!! I order fish & chips for 13.50. The fries were old and cold and the cod was frozen fish patty that I can pick up at Walmart. I cut into the cod and grease dripped over my cold dead fries. My friend ordered a vegtable burger and mash potatoes & gravy for 13.50. The vegetable burger has meat on it, it went back. The mash potatoes and gravy was cold, the potatoes were not mashed but chunks of potatoes. I was given fresh hot fries which were good. The meatless burger came back with so much mustard on it she couldn't finish half. My friend told the server her stomach was hurting from the potatoes. He apologized took a dollar off. Paid 26.00 for food that was not fresh, nor was it hot. Save your money and go to Jack in the Box. Food Always hot and a much better value. read more
