My husband and I took a trip up to Erie to ride bikes around Presque Isle and then stop at some wineries afterwards. We did not have a place to stay, but was recommended to try Grape Arbor Bed & Breakfast by one of the wineries. I'm so glad they had an opening when I called. Liz was on duty and was so welcoming when we arrived. She showed us all around the B&B, offered us some homemade cookies...yum, and was just incredibly friendly and helpful. The next morning, we had breakfast and April was our server. She too could not have been nicer. Very sweet, polite, and she was so attentive to all the guests who were dining the same time we were. We did not get to meet Peggy, although she was busy in the kitchen preparing all the amazing food. If you leave hungry after having breakfast here, something is wrong. Each "course" they brought out was so tasty and my husband and I enjoyed everything. Hopefully on our next visit we will be able to stay here as well. Could not ask for nicer people, better hospitality and overall a very comfortable stay and a really good price. Great job to all the ladies who were so gracious to us on our first stay.

Some of the rooms are suites; we just had a normal room with a king-sized bed and little bathroom on the first floor of the main house (the Isabella room).

We had our choice of breakfast (juice, coffee, fruit, Amish friendship bread, scrambled eggs, blueberry pancakes, bacon, and French toast) and breakfast time. We stayed in the downstairs/main floor bedroom, which had a bathroom, queen bed, TV, and window A/C unit. We didn't hear chickens in the morning, but we did hear the train. Norma was really nice; she shared some wine, and we brought home some fresh cut flowers, Amish sourdough starter/instructions, and Amish friendship bread. We walked the grounds, Norma gave us a little tour of the elderberries and they were currently harvesting them for an Apple festival. The grapes were in full blown this time of year so the delicious smell of grapes was in the air. You are close to great restaurants near by we went to a local favorite Freeport restaurant. This is close to Freeport beach which history was made by the first woman who swam from Canada to Pennsylvania. Halli Reid (ps she sat in front of me in homeroom growing up in school)Great food, casual dress. After we came back Norma gave us a piece of her homemade cake that mimics her mother's recipe.it was my birthday weekend. It was so good I asked for the recipe!! In the morning we were blown away by our fresh country breakfast of eggs (freshly gathered that morning) homemade muffins, fresh fruit (not canned) grape juice again homemade (you are on a grape vineyard farm, of course!). Pancakes, bacon, coffee, hot chocolate. The sweet conversation they sat with us and made us feel like we were family. I was moved to tears when I first walked in feeling overwhelmed by the coziness and feeling of family missed greatly. Before we left she gave me two bouquets of flowers from her garden as a birthday gift. The owners are very friendly and helpful, recommending a great casual, Italian restaurant in the area, Bark's Grill, where they make their own sauces and dressings. The Brick House adds all those little details that make your stay memorable; cookies in the dining room, holiday decorations, a game room, fridge, microwave, bottles of water, etc. My BF and I stayed in the Grape Room of this house that was built in the 1800s. The rooms are decorated in antiques and rich colors which I can really appreciate coming from stark white apartment city living. The room had a comfortable king-sized bed, an electric fireplace and private bath. I assume because it was the Grape Room, we also found a couple cans of grape juice in the room and a free mug to take if you choose to w the name of the B&B on it. The BF was a big fan of the soft towels. The fresh coffee was ready in the morning by 7 and breakfast by 8:30. You won't leave hungry with eggs, bacon, fruit, pastries, juice, and homemade pound cake. The best add-on to the stay is the opportunity to use the 2 infrared dry saunas. They provide white fluffy robes for their guests to wear in them. If you are stopping by the wineries in the area, 21 Brix is only about 4 miles down the road and their Cabernet is more than worth a stop.

We arrived right at 3 for our check in and received a warm welcome from Lesley complete with a review of the property and tour of the space. Very helpful to know where everything is right away! Plus - a welcome cocktail and sweet bread was waiting for us! Delicious! The room: we stayed in La Due, which had an amazingly comfortable king bed, ceiling fan, and tub/shower combo. No detail goes unnoticed in the room, the towels are soft and match the floor rugs beautifully. Robes are available for guests and plenty of outlet space for charging is around the room. A note to visitors: the shared refrigerator for guests is only a mini-fridge, so there isn't much storage space. We'd suggest planning ahead and bringing a cooler for any larger items you wanted to store - or calling ahead to see about options. When we wanted to chill champagne, Lesley was wonderful to assist us with an ice bucket and two glasses! I highly recommend a trip here - friendly, relaxing, and so comfortable!

Very charming and clean. Our room was lovely. The neighborhood seemed decent (right across from a college). Free off-street parking, free wi-fi. Must be able to get yourself and your bags up to the second floor as there is no elevator. Also, they prefer cash or checks for payment, and payment is taken before you check out.
