Beautiful rooms! This enchanting B&B boasts spacious, comfy, quaintly decorated suites, complete with basic amenities and homemade chocolate chip cookies. The innkeeper kindly allowed us to pick up our wine tasting pass early since we were in town a little earlier than expected. She also accommodated my lactose intolerance at breakfast. Breakfast, by the way, was top notch. We were there for 3 breakfasts and got a choice of either a meat/egg casserole-type of dish, or a carb-type of dish (usually some kind of pancakes or French toast). We also received different daily assortments of homemade breads/rolls/muffins, and a fresh fruit course. I would book this B&B again. We stopped here at the start of our wine tour to stay for the night. We arrived around 8:00 and we missed our check in time however the key was exactly where it was suppose to be with clear instructions as to how to access our room. There was even advice on local establishments for dinner. We had the Merlot suite. This was a spacious upstairs room. There was a TV and VCR in our room. Suggestion to the owner have a movies available for guests as I am sure no one travels with VHS tapes. The VCR was pointless to have. Breakfast was good. You get to choose between two skillfully prepared meals. Once we were done the lady serving us never came back. We had a few questions but left to go about our day as we had big wine plans. My husband and I have stayed at Grape Arbor twice this year, and we couldn't ask for a better place to spend the night! It is located in the heart of Northeast, Pa, the very center of the flourishing wine country. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by the innkeeper - she gave us the keys to our room, showed us around the house, allowed us to choose our breakfast time, and double checked that neither of us had allergies. During both of our stays, we were in the Concord room. The bathroom is small, but was stocked with everything that was necessary for a weekend stay. A coffee/tea machine was located right outside the door if we wanted a drink at any time. Downstairs, there were two cookie jars that were always filled, a mini fridge with soda and water, and a room with games and movies that we could take back to our room. At breakfast time, we always had the first course waiting for us on the table. It usually consisted of some kind of coffee cake. The server offered us tea or coffee to begin the meal. A basket sat in between the place settings and was often filled with rolls or buns. The second course was a medley of fresh fruit while for the main course, we were given two options. They ranged from egg breakfast casseroles to french toast to pancakes. All of the food was fresh and delicious! We were able to see the owner through the kitchens swinging door preparing the breakfast. You will not go hungry! If you are headed to Erie for a weekend getaway, please consider this B&B! Its cleanliness and hospitality are top of the line. It is within walkable distance of some local restaurants and a new winery. My husband and I took a trip up to Erie to ride bikes around Presque Isle and then stop at some wineries afterwards. We did not have a place to stay, but was recommended to try Grape Arbor Bed & Breakfast by one of the wineries. I'm so glad they had an opening when I called. Liz was on duty and was so welcoming when we arrived. She showed us all around the B&B, offered us some homemade cookies...yum, and was just incredibly friendly and helpful. The next morning, we had breakfast and April was our server. She too could not have been nicer. Very sweet, polite, and she was so attentive to all the guests who were dining the same time we were. We did not get to meet Peggy, although she was busy in the kitchen preparing all the amazing food. If you leave hungry after having breakfast here, something is wrong. Each "course" they brought out was so tasty and my husband and I enjoyed everything. Hopefully on our next visit we will be able to stay here as well. We were looking for a weekend getaway B&B, and honestly Grape Arbor was the first one we found with a vacancy. Talk about lucking out; it's hard to imagine a more relaxing, convenient and pleasant experience! The Inn is actually two lovely large old houses, each with 4 rooms and lots of common space. Some of the rooms are suites; we just had a normal room with a king-sized bed and little bathroom on the first floor of the main house (the Isabella room). The room was cozy with a gas fireplace. Your stay comes with breakfast, which is an incredible 4-course homemade delight. I used to live in Nashville and this food definitely can hang with full southern breakfasts! The staff is tiny but so sweet and friendly and not at all intrusive. Before heading out to a day of vineyards we cozied up with huge mugs of coffee in the library and on the porch. They have grape vines and twinkly lights that add to the adorable atmosphere! The town of North East is lovely and a great place for a weekend getaway with tons of vineyards around (so cheap and delicious!) and lots of little restaurants, many within walking distance or a short drive away. We loved the cool weather and the lake is easily accessible. Everywhere we went and mentioned the Grape Arbor all the locals complimented our choice. What started as a happy accident will hopefully become a regular trip! read more

We stayed here for a short anniversary trip. It was a very nice stay. The lady (not the owner) was very nice and accommodating. As soon as you get a chance make sure you grab some cookies out of their bottomless cookie jars because they are amazing. There are multiple sitting rooms if you care to socialize. We stayed in the Isabella room that has a very nice patio. We had wine outside in the evening and drank our morning coffee there also. Breakfast was very delicious and a ton of food. Amazing fresh fruit. Coffee and teas available at all times and a mini fridge you can put your leftovers in that also offers free water and sodas. There isn't much to do in this town so plan on just relaxing there! read more

We come to Northeast PA at least once a year to visit the wineries (of which there are many) and we always choose The Grape Arbor B&B. It would be hard to find anything comparable. It was clean and the woman (not the owner) who received us was friendly and showed us around. She asked what time we planned on having breakfast the next morning. We told her we had to leave early and she kindly offered to have a "to go" box made up for us. The next morning we went to the main house to drop off the keys and had to knock on the kitchen door to get someone's attention. It was the owner. All she said was: "drop the keys off on the table and too bad you can't stay for breakfast." Clearly she was upset we weren't staying for breakfast and she certainly didn't get a "to go" box - lol. My first stay at a BB was purchased through a groupon deal at Grape Arbor for a winter wine getaway and included 2 nights, appetizers, wine and chocolate tasting, and 2 tastings at local wineries. While we were the only ones there, the inn keeper was incredibly hospital and helpful. North East overall is a wonderful and charming town with antique shops, coffee shops, and other fun places to browse. The breakfast, wine, appetizers, chocolate pairings were incredible and the house itself was beautiful, clean, and very charming. It was a little cold (January), but worth it if you need a weekend to get away and recover. Grape Arbor has two wonderful cats; unfortunately I am allergic. However, she keeps the place so clean I hardly noticed. read more

This place was absolutely atrocious. When making reservations, the prickly proprietor told me that it would "very difficult" to have an hour early check-in, because she would have to staff extra. We wanted to check in at 2 pm because WE WERE GETTING MARRIED THAT NIGHT. I'd like to think that getting married would be a special circumstance and that she could accommodate. When we checked in at 1030pm, we rang the door bell once, accidentally, on a Saturday night. We were greeted at the door with a sharp "Can I help you? I gave you specific instructions and you're waking up all the guests!" She then tossed the keys at my husband and ran away to her room. I have no idea why she needed to be that rude or speak to guests in that manner. It put a damper on our special night and ruined my opinion of the place. I absolutely regret the decision to book our night here. However, it was very nicely decorated and in a good location for wine country. It was also clean and warm. During our visit on October 24, 2019, we were greeted by the newbie inn keeper, Liz with such a big smile. Warm homemade cookies were available and the aroma in the mansion was to die for. The mansion is a sight to see. Very beautiful and homey. Our room, the Concord was spacious and warm. The fireplace is made it even more romantic. The breakfast was to die for. Everything was home made and fresh. It was like eating at a 5 star restaurant. Everyone was so warm and friendly. Liz told us to make sure we went into town to check out the fabulous things in North East. We had a great time at the different wineries as well. Loved the concord and Niagara grapes! The area is so beautiful. Lake Erie is a vision to appreciate. We will definitely come back in the spring with friends. read more

My husband and I were looking for a nice weekend getaway without the kids and I found Grape Arbor B&B on Groupon. I didn't have huge expectations (we mostly just wanted some time on our own), but the trip turned out really nice. The bed and breakfast itself was easy to find and very cute inside. It's an old place, so it's creaky, but was charming in its own way. Our Groupon came with a little snack box (water, cheese, fruit, etc) and four wine tastings (we did two before we headed back to finish the bottle of wine and cheese tray that we bought). Breakfast was delicious in the morning. We stuffed ourselves practically the entire trip. There were coffees, teas, and cocoas out throughout the day, so we made a bunch of those. There are also fresh cookies and candy out for snacking. We could barley eat dinner when the time came. I'd personally suggest staying in the main house so you don't have to come out in the cold (when it is cold outside) to venture to breakfast. We stayed in the Concord Room, which was lovely and had a little fireplace. This worked out perfectly since my husband and I love a nice warm room. We just cranked up the fireplace the whole time and sat by it drinking cocoa and tea. My one complaint is that the beds are super noisy (if you plan to move at all in them, you might want to look into a room that's kind of on its own so you're not disturbing other guests). The pillows were a little flat, too, but it was only two nights. The shower in our room was tiny (not big enough for two people if that's what you're interested in), but it did the job. Other reviews said the trains bothered them, but neither my husband or I had an issue and there were ear plugs in the room if needed also. All in all, it was a really fun trip and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the entire weekend turned out. I'd definitely recommend the place to anyone looking for a charming and romantic getaway. read more
