I'm visiting from out of town and ordered the gyro. Excellent! Wasn't dry at all. We need a place like this in nyc. Halal guys could learn a thing or two from them. Wish they had the white and red sauce from them though. Overall very good and worth the trip. I ordered off the side menu and it was reasonably priced and was the right amount. Probably the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. So called in to get three chicken shawarma's. picked it up and got home. When I opened it it was just three small containers of chicken strips with garlic sauce on the side. I have been to plenty Mediterranean places have never heard of a shawarma like that. So I called and complained and whoever picked up said sorry it wasn't me who took your order so I don't know what your talking about. Like instead of apologizing Or even asking someone what happened I got I didn't do it. And then she said why don't you come back and I'll get you a discount. Without asking my name or any info. Not going to lie, the food here is pretty good. The only problem with this restaurant is poor customer service. Last night, their cashier made a mistake with my order by not giving me my drinks. The next day I brought my receipt to get a refund and the lady at the register had a bad attitude. She didn't even make eye contact and continued to stay silent as I was explaining the mistake on my order. For that reason I don't think I will ever come back. I love this place. This is my go to for Mediterranean food! I normally get the falafel salad and LOVE it. It's typically very fast and the service is very good. This last visit, however, we ordered a Gyro with my salad and it came with tomato on it even know he ordered it without tomato while he was in the restaurant. I have no idea what the other reviewers are talking about. It is solid food at fair prices. People give out one star reviews far too easily. I have eaten at nearly every Lebanese place in Toledo and can easily say this is one of the best. It's different from its parent restaurant and has a faster menu (sandwiches and other quick to prepare items). My food has always bee fresh and on point. The staff are friendly as well. It's not perfect so I didn't give it 5 stars. Sometimes their dressings are too salty and it seems they use frozen ingredients for simple things like french fries (which is standard I guess). Either way it is really good and deserves a better rating than the other reviewers gave it. read more

Had seen this place on a earlier trip and thought we need to check it out. The restaurant is located at the end of a strip of stores - right next to Marco's Pizza and it's headquarters. Beirut is the VERY best restaurant in Toledo for middle eastern food, however it takes time to eat there - especially being on a Saturday night. Just wanted something more on the lines of a fast food but up scale. This place fit the bill. You place your order as you go in. There is a menu on the wall or you can look over printed ones that I think are easier for me to look over. Place your order and be seated and they will call you by number. There are low tables as well as a few high top tables. Noticed that there is a back parking lot and one could come in the back door into the restaurant. Everyone there was friendly and the front person did ask how everything was and thanked us for coming in. My husband ordered the Shish Kabob (beef tenders) that comes with fries & side salad $8 and I ordered the appetizer of lamb grape leafs $6 and a beef & lamb gryo $4, the prices are fair for what was ordered. WOW the side salad was VERY tasty and full of favor (typical salad of greens, cucumbers, onions with a oil based dressing YUM! The fries were done nicely, not under cooked, golden brown and the beef was tender and good. The lamb grape leaves a bit lemony with no lemon sauce on them, they were ok, don't know if I would order them again. My Beef & lamb gryo and a nice yogurt sauce with spices and the gryo would be one I would order again but not the best I have ever eaten. Overall we were happy with the food for the price. read more

The Grape Leaf Express is a fantastic little restaurant. I eat there often for lunch, and love the freshness of their ingredients, and the fact that it is good (REAL) food, and QUICK. Their service is fantastic. The owner knows me by name, and the rest of the staff are always polite and helpful. Are there better Lebanese restaurants? Probably. This had to be the worst chicken shawarma I have ever had. Extremely rubbery chicken and the grape leaves were dry and totally flavorless. The soup was only OK, but it was the best part of the meal. Customer service was not so great, either. I noticed there are a lot of positive reviews here on Yelp, so maybe it was just a bad day for the person preparing the food. I love this place. Went here once with a friend for lunch and my gyro was GIGANTIC and so fluffy and fresh. The sauce was delicious and I was just overall so impressed. We ordered a side of fries to share and there was a good amount. Since it was her birthday, we got one of their cheesecakes and it was to die for. I haven't had a cheesecake that good in years. I usually get an upset stomach after eating at most restaurants, but I NEVER got an upset stomach eating food at Grape Leaf Express because everything is so fresh and cooked without a lot of sauces.
