We stayed for three nights at the Grape Leaf Inn. I honestly can't think of much that could have improved our stay. From start to finish, it was lovely. And I thank them. The staff was attentive and caring about the details. Breakfast was beautiful every morning! There were cookies every afternoon, and there was always a bottle of wine if you wanted it. The location of this inn is very close to downtown so you don't need a car. I will return for another stay! read more

This review is based on the price point I paid ($189) for one night. If I paid the normal rate ($300) I would've been more disappointed. This Inn is walking distance to downtown which is what drew us to this location. Ve was our host and she was very nice and gave us a short tour around the place. I was confused because we were told we could use the heated pool and then, when we went to go use it, there were multiple signs saying it's closed. The walls are thin, you can hear everything occurring in the hallway. Our room needed love. There was lots of dust build up, the television was extremely small, and the bed frame was very flimsy. The mattress was also quite hard and it was difficult to sleep throughout the night. I was looking forward to the speakeasy but it was closed throughout our stay. I'm not sure if it's closed for good or just wasn't open when I was there. There was no information given about it. We went out and came back to the Inn around 8 pm, there was an empty bottle of wine and dirty glasses sitting around the entrance area. I'm not sure if that was due to available tastings at the Inn or if someone just left it out because we were not informed of tasting offerings at the Inn. Breakfast was served between 8-10 and it was soggy French toast, warm yogurt and room temperature orange juice. All in all, I would not stay here again and I would choose to stay farther away at a nicer place. read more

In the past we and our friends have enjoyed wonderful breakfasts here. This time the two breakfasts were quite disappointing: the scrambled eggs and the French toast were maybe ok at say Denny's. We stayed just one night at the Grape Leaf Inn but left wishing we booked more nights! This was out first hotel/overnight stay during COVID, but with masks required in shared areas and a sticker-sealed clean room, we felt quite safe. We arrived and were given glasses of bubbly and macarons, YUM! We took advantage of a free wine tasting at one of their partner wineries. And enjoyed some time relaxing in the huge tub! Maybe my only wish was that the pillows were thicker/fluffier, they were a bit flat. But the breakfast the next morning... omg to die for. Fresh ingredients and packed with flavor. Fresh juices and locally roasted coffee! I will definitely stay here again. read more

4 and a half stars. We received our stay as a gift so I cannot say anything about the value for the price. Good location - we walked to dinner near the plaza our first night. Bed mattress was only ok, thus minus a half star. Overall decor and vibe really nice casual and elegant. Good breakfasts, with coffee, tea and filtered water available all day - plus yummy afternoon cookies. Did not learn about the bikes and the hot pool before we came so did not take advantage of those offerings. A very cool old building! Our room off the dining area was probably a little noisier than other rooms but overall a very nice stay. read more

I was BLOWN away by this charming inn. It's adults only and is the perfect place for an adult getaway. Very quiet area but close to lively events. The staff is SUPER friendly and very thoughtful. The inn itself is perfectly located just a short walk from the square. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and I wish we had stayed longer. Lots of hand sanitizer stations. My friend and I stayed at the Inn recently and I can't say enough good things about it, Tim the property manager was friendly helpful and so accommodating, he took us on a personal tour, which included the speakeasy, pool and cute community dining area.... We stayed at Grape Leaf Inn for the first time but it won't be our last. We found this lovely B&B while looking for pet friendly accommodations. I'm so happy we did! Great location, clean and cozy room, and best of all, their complimentary breakfast was just phenomenal! I'd go back just for that breakfast!! Our room was Champagne Suite, a cottage detached from the rest of the property with a private patio and an indoor & outside shower! It had the "spa retreat" feel to it and was very charming. I also appreciated the attentive staff and their communication. As soon as I booked the room, I've got a personalized email from the Inn, to which I replied with some questions/requests. They were quick on getting back to me. We visited during the wild fires in August 2020. The staff from the Inn called me the day before and the day of to keep us informed of the fires and its effect in Healdsburg. I'd highly recommend this Inn and we will certainly be back (especially since we did not get to visit wineries as we planned due to the wild fires)! We had a most pleasant overnite stay at the Grape Leaf Inn this past weekend. The charming century-old house was homey, sparkling clean and comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful and they had not problem accommodating my husband's dietary restrictions. The proprietor was attentive to our needs, engaging and professional. The location was ideal, as it was not far from a freeway exit, yet only two blocks from downtown Healdsburg. Gorgeous setting, romantic and luxurious rooms. Breakfast fresh fruit was delicious and the food was made from scratch, very good although the choices were not my cup of tea. It is perfectly located close enough to walk to the bustle of downtown but away enough to be quiet and relaxing! My husband and I loved it so much one morning we just sat in the shade on the porch and read in the summer breeze. A BIG perk is that the owners of this B&B also own several vineyards and they offer you discounted or free wine tasting; which I highly recommend! This place is the best B&B there is. That's not hyperbole! They are legit. The amenities are fantastic. The rooms are amazing. Top-notch beds etc. so good. Simple things done right. They've got it down. Also, they are own by a group that owns about 10 vineyards so you get free tastings and vip service! I'm sure you would get it anyway but they loved that we were staying with the group. The best thing about this place (and this isn't a knock) the location is top-tier. Really lovely inn located on a quiet street just a few easily walkable blocks to downtown and the Plaza. Everyone is gracious and welcoming, and the inn serves warm cookies in the afternoons + fresh squeezed OJ and delicious breakfast. Omelettes, fresh fruit, fresh granola, everything was incredible. A small parking lot is located behind the in with about 6 spots. The Sauv Blanc, Gamay, and Pinot rooms are right off the dining area so be mindful of location as the walls are quite thin and you will hear noise at breakfast and when people return at night. All things considered it really was not bad. We booked same day and ended up in one of these rooms; I would still book it again if I had to. The inn permits you to visit all 9 local Wilson wineries for complimentary tasting. A great perk! We visited 3 and honestly were not partial to their wines, but it's nice to find that out for free :-) Each time we returned and walked in the property smelled so clean, like literally just freshly cleaned. There is a hot tub/heated small pool area in back but we forgot suits so didn't get a chance for a dip on this visit. Next time! read more

We stayed in the Viogner room. Very nice. Water is freaking hot! Be careful. Besides the room being a little bright in the morning and no vanity in the bathroom, it was modern and clean. The bed was on the firm side and down pillows are a little flat. Breakfast was very good. They have a speak easy. The best part is that it is so close to downtown. Nice romantic strolls through the neighborhood, after a great dinner. We had complimentary wine tastings at their wineries. Very fun and relaxing. read more

Really enjoyed our stay here and glad we could bring our puppy with us! The inn was so nice, beautiful rooms and grounds. We stayed in the Sangiovese room which was very nice (the only downside especially for me is that the soundproofing isn't great - we could hear the people above walking around, using the tub, etc) As long as the people staying there aren't loud its fine. THE BREAKFAST! WOW. Amazing breakfast every day. Had galette, belgian buckwheat waffles, breakfast sandwiches, eggs benedict. All incredible. The chef also makes the welcome macarons which were sooooo good we wish they sold them! Service was great! Ve was so nice and attentive and we got some nice champagne when we arrived. This place is as lovely as B&Bs get. We've stayed in the Viognier and Syrah rooms, and both were beautiful. The original stained glass details, gigantic, incredibly comfortable beds and vaulted ceilings are to die for. The Inn is quiet and private, even when other guests are there - and both rooms we've stayed in had big tubs (the Syrah has a Japanese soaking tub, which is a neat experience). I could rave for a while about the rooms, but the grounds are arguably even better. There's plenty of room for guests to spread out across a huge wrap-around porch, under a big Cedar tree, and in a relaxing pool area. Breakfast was fantastic - definitely the best breakfast we've ever had at an Inn. We had eggs benedict, buckwheat waffles and a breakfast sandwich, and each was fantastic. The front desk staff were also lovely. I should also mention that we stayed here during COVID, and the staff sanitized all of the rooms, required masks in communal areas, and took all of the appropriate precautions. Most nights we got takeout and brought it back to the lovely grounds and ate under the big Cedar. We felt very safe. Couldn't recommend this place more. read more

Paid an extra $50 fee for my dog and specifically asked if we would have any trouble before arriving. As soon as we arrived they said she could not be in the room without us. So we are basically restricted to this hotel since we don't want to bring her to dinner or wine tastings. She is fully trained, cleaned, and doesn't make a peep. If this is their requirement they should make it clear to advance to guests, especially when those guests ask about it in advance and are paying extra fees. This is a tourist town so obviously people want to do things outside of the hotel. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

This was our introductory visit to the Grape Leaf Inn, and we were definitely pleased with our 3 night stay! Unfortunately, flight issues and traffic had us arriving much past the check-in time, but we when we did finally arrive there was a lovely bottle of red wine awaiting us (with specific instructions on where to find the wine glasses). Our room was one of the smaller ones, but with all the lovely outdoor seating areas, as well as the large spa (which we used twice), who wants to be in their room?!! Every morning there is a varied and quite delectable breakfast served to you (they are mindful of any dietary restrictions) and was better than any restaurant we woould have gone to, and bonus is that fresh squeezed OJ there was a rotating try of sweet treats, which were replaced in the evening by the most incredible cookies (can't stop thinking about them). There is also a community fridge for leftovers, wine, beer, etc. Located in a very quiet neighborhood, it is also very close walking distance to the heart of Healdsburg. Additionally, there are close to a dozen wineries (owned by Wilson Artisan Wines) that as guests you can taste for FREE. Already talking about our next visit... read more

I booked this place after having it bookmarked for about a year and stumbling across a Groupon including a room and sip and stay package. We've stayed at many b&b's and I can say this is at the top of the list. The location is perfect being in walking distance to the downtown area. I kept trying to upgrade my room to a king room but they were booked out the weekend I went. It wasn't a problem at all though, the room and bathroom were more than big enough. We stayed in the Cabernet Sauvignon room which is upstairs and looks like it used to be an attic. The windows in the room are gorgeous and let in light for the room and bathroom. They have built in blinds so you can block out light as well. My only complaint on the room is that the tilted mirror in the bathroom shows a very up close view of yourself on the toilet. Also the counter space is very limited so don't bring a large toiletry bag. I was happy to find that the room had a large tub so we were able to enjoy it after a long hard day of wine tasting. I noticed that there are a few rooms that are located in the dining room so I would recommend calling ahead of time to ask how the rooms are situated. The walls here are paper thin and we could hear our neighbor's conversations and TV well into the night so I assume the rooms in the dining room would offer no privacy. When we arrived we were immediately greeted by the owner and given a tour around the house. On the bed was a bottle of wine and the details for the sip and stay package. With this you get to do free wine tastings for 2 at all their associated wineries and you get a discount if buying more than 6 bottles. 6. I would pass on this package next time as we only made it out to 3 tasting rooms. We went downstairs and it was a wine tasting hour which was so much fun just chatting with other travelers. This place seems to have a lot of repeat customers, which is a great sign. The charcuterie board was gorgeous with plenty of different cheese, sausage, and dried fruits. The breakfast. You get to choose between sweet and savory selection of the day. I love this. At previous places I've stayed there was always only one choice. Each meal is 3 courses. The first day we started with a fruit and nut yogurt parfait and went with the savory course which was eggs benedict, perfectly runny yolk, and either greens on the side or potatoes. The portions were perfect. The second day we went with savory again and started with a fruit plate and then had a potato and sweet potato with mushroom hash, eggs any style, and sausage or bacon. Parking. There is street parking as this place is located in a residential neighborhood or you can try to park in the lot at the back. Be careful though, the spots are a tight squeeze. Overall I really enjoyed my stay and would be back if I'm ever in the area. read more

We booked The Grape Leaf Inn for my wife's birthday weekend celebration. It was our first time at The Grape Leaf but we have stayed at several other B&B's around the area. We decided to try somewhere new and are hugely thankful we did. Upon arriving, we were warmly greeted by Ve - the Inn's hostess. Within minutes we felt at ease and welcomed. The rooms were nicely decorated, well-equipped, clean, and very comfortable. A couple hours later, wine tasting began with a local winery bringing some of their best wines for sampling. As the group grew in the living room, the atmosphere turned from being an Inn to a cozy friend's house. Wine tasting, laughter, and a charcuterie plate to put a restaurant to shame were shared by everyone. Ve introduced us to many of the local eateries for lunch and dinner including local salami and killer Italian sandwiches. She is a treasure trove of local knowledge that is hard to find in local printed guides. We can't rave enough about breakfast. In other B&Bs around the area breakfast is good but not great. In the past, we usually head-out after our B&B breakfast and visit a local breakfast eatery known for great food. Well, not with this visit. The breakfast options (sweet or savory) couldn't stop either of us from making inappropriate mouth noises during breakfast. They were perfect portions and excellent tasting. The best news about The Grape Leaf Inn (and other Wilson Family Properties) is free wine tasting (normally $10 - $20 per person) at any of the nine Wilson Artisan Wineries around the area for Wilson Property guests. And if you join one of the Wilson Family wine clubs you receive a discount on your next Grape Leaf Inn (or other Wilson Family properties) stay. Lastly, the Inn's hostess (Ve) made our entire stay wonderful. Her warmth, friendliness, sense of humor, knowledge of food, cooking tips, and her willingness to do virtually anything to make our stay delightful was the icing on the cake. Warning: this inn offers no flexibility for guests! While the property looks nice, the customer service here is severely lacking. Even the airlines, the worst of the worst for customer service, are being flexible right now. I booked this hotel and unfortunately was not able to stay due to an emergency at home that cut my trip short. They would not even give me a credit for a future stay -- when I would have gladly come back and spent even more money at their hotel and in Healdsburg. I definitely won't be staying there or recommending it to anyone in the future. I should add that another boutique inn on my trip that I also had to cancel due to the home emergency was extremely flexible and offered me a full refund! (I also paid for that stay through a third-party site, and they were still super flexible.) Grape Leaf Inn could learn something from them. read more

My wife and I spent one night here and I have to say this is the best B & B we have ever stayed in. As we drove toward Healdsburg we received a text saying our room was ready and we were welcome to check in early. Very cool. We were cordially greeted by the lady on duty and given a good briefing on walking to various points in Healdsburg. They were perfectly located for walking to all desired places. Our room was immaculate with every detail (like nice coathangars) well planned. There were two separate sinks in the bathroom and a fabulous, deep soaking tub. The water pressure was so high the tub filled in just a few minutes. So much attention to detail. They had cancelled the wine hour in the lobby and, instead, left us a bottle of nice wine in the room. Then there was the fabulous breakfast - maybe the tastiest I've ever had . We heartily recommend the Grape Leaf. read more

Positive: This place is so romantic and cozy. Everything is clean and set up well. The breakfast was refreshing and delicious! (Vegetarian friendly :) ) I love love loved the grapefruit juice they offered with breakfast. Super refreshing. The breakfast was served to you, and not set up in a buffet style. They were super accommodating. I love the honey they offered with the coffee and tea. The food and beverages were well set up. The service was great, and everyone was friendly. The plants outside are well taken care of and there are nice areas to sit with a beautiful scenery. Negative: There was no air conditioning in our room! This is a problem since during the summer it's pretty hot here. It was 90 degrees or so out. So being in our room with no air was uncomfortable. There is air conditioning in the whole place, but not in our room. So we would come in from a long day out and the whole place would be cool and it felt nice, but the moment we walked into our room the temperature dropped and we felt uncomfortable. Due to this, I may not want to stay here again in the summer. I don't like to sleep in the heat. We called about this and someone brought us a fan, thankfully. read more

The wifi was great - I worked remotely from Grape Leaf Inn and had zero wifi issues -- all of my meetings were on Zoom video. The wifi also reached the porch with zero issues. You'd be hard-pressed to find a more charming Bed & Breakfast in wine country! This turn-of-the-century, Queen Anne-style B & B is nestled in a bucolic, quiet neighborhood. And while it feels remote, you're just a hop, skip, and jump away from the Healdsburg square. My room (the Sauvignon Blanc suite) was super cozy. Huge, comfy bed; ample closet space; small TV; and bathroom. The room had plenty of windows, so I woke up to plenty of sunshine in the early morning. The Inn has plenty of space (both indoor and outdoor) to just chill-ax. Their living room has plenty of reading materials + an ice water cooler marinated in citrus (perfect for a hot summer day or a long afternoon of wine tasting). And let's not forget the breakfast! At 9am, I was greeted with a fresh fruit platter, hot coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, and a hearty plate of chicken-apple sausage, frittata, and a baked tomato with sliced avocado. I don't think you can find a better breakfast in the area. What a treat! Only negatives... the WiFi was very spotty. But then again, if you're staying at a romantic B & B, you probably shouldn't be on your computer anyway. The bathroom was a bit tiny for my taste. But all in all, the Grape Leaf Inn is a terrific option for folks visiting Healdsburg for a day or weekend getaway. The staff is super friendly. The grounds are magnificent. This sweet B&B surpassed all of my expectations. Service: They agreed to let us make a pretty last-minute reservation for a Saturday-night-only stay (they usu have a 2-night min though), set up massages in the "speakeasy," and made on-the-spot dinner reservations at one of the harder places to get into. (It helps that the proprietor, Kae, is drop-dead gorgeous and all of the waiters in town are in love with her and would do anything for her.) Accommodations: comfortable without being too folksy like some (most?) B&Bs. 12 total rooms with a new/remodeled half and an older half with smaller beds and vaulted ceilings, which I clocked my head on about 5 times, but it is all so charming that I didn't mind. ;) The sheets are amazing and the huge skylit windows a treat when we woke up on a sunny Sunday. Wineries rotate doing tastings in the wine cellar, or speakeasy, and put out a decent cheese spread. Breakfast: Every detail is attended to here and the Breakfast part of this Bed & Breakfast is not an afterthought. From the coffee to the whole grain bagels, seriously amazing salmon and feta fritatta with mango salsa, to the little baked crab apple, you leave feeling fully fortified and ready for another day of drinking Dry Creek Valley even dryer. Easy to get to, parking, and a 5-minute walk to Healdsburg square make this a perfect location. I can see why all of the other guests last weekend were repeat visitors! read more

This twelve-bedroom b&B has great accommodations, a delicious breakfast rivaling anything you could order at a breakfast/brunch place, great amenities (with Aveda soaps, shampoos and conditioner), very welcoming and a friendly, full-service staff. GUESTROOM- THE CHARDONNAY (5/5): The room was SO cute-- it was in the gables of the house and featured two rooms (the bedroom and a little "livingroom / sitting" area with a small bed, couch and chairs.) and a bathroom with two sinks and a spa / hot tub. The best part about this guestroom was the skylight. You could pull down the windows from the slanted gables and let Sonoma's sunlight spill into the room. It was so great to wake up, open the skylight, soak in the fresh air (away from all the noise and pollutants from the city) and watch the clouds float above the house. SO peaceful and quaint. I loved the hot tub too. The location can't be beat! Love it. There's plenty of parking as well. LOGISTICS: You get two keys when you check into your room: one for the room and one for the house. The house is really big-- 12 bedrooms. During the evening, the house is super quiet (it's a little errie because the house is so big and you can hear all the little creaks) and the innkeeper shuts off all the light. It's an open door policy, so you can still wander the house, the kitchen and the little rooms and study areas that aren't occupied. When I was downstairs at night, I had to turn on all the lights to the rooms (and shut them off after I left, of course). BREAKFAST (5/5): We started off with a tropical fruit dish (cantaloupe, watermelon, melons, berries) and a "double-shot" of fresh mango with some bubbly. We drank our OJ and coffee in cute "Grape Leaf Inn" mugs and moved onto our next dish: a salmon, french toast panini with an egg baked in a small ramekin and nestled in freshly grated Parmesan cheese and herbs and grilled salt and pepper pineapple slices. The little sauce bowls of chili lime sauce and hollandaise sauce were perfect complements to the panini. NOT DOG FRIENDLY: This place would be even more fantastic if it were dog friendly. Maybe something to consider... :P DECOR / FEEL: The owners who decorated the Inn and added their personal touches (e.g., books, certificates, wedding photos) did a great job!
