Tucked away in the quiet town of Healdsburg, SingleThread delivers the kind of experience that immediately reminds you why it stands among California's three Michelin star destinations. From the very beginning of the meal, there was a clear sense of precision, elegance, and intention. The opening presentation was stunning, filled with an assortment of beautifully composed small bites featuring oyster, mushroom, sea bream, and a variety of other seasonal ingredients. Each bite felt delicate yet purposeful, showcasing both technical refinement and remarkable balance. One of the most memorable dishes of the evening was the bluefin tuna moriawase paired with strawberries. Normally, fruit in savory dishes tends to feel distracting or overly sweet to me, but the execution here was exceptional. The chefs managed to create a harmony between sweetness, tartness, acidity, and umami that elevated the tuna rather than overshadowing it. It was a dish that felt thoughtful, restrained, and incredibly well composed. The consistency throughout the progression of the menu was equally impressive. Course after course arrived with meticulous presentation and a strong sense of identity. Every dish felt polished and intentional, balancing visual artistry with flavors that were equally compelling. There was never a moment where the meal lost momentum, and the pacing allowed each course to feel distinct while still contributing to a cohesive experience. That said, there was one course that completely missed the mark for our group. The milk and honey dessert, which resembled a sponge cake topped with a whipped goat cheese foam, was overwhelmingly pungent and difficult to approach as a dessert course. The intensity of the goat cheese dominated every other component, to the point where it felt less like a composed dessert and more like being punched by a goat farm. Looking around the dining room, it seemed we were not alone in our reaction. Interestingly, when we mentioned that this was the only dish we did not enjoy, we were told, "if at least 1 out of 10 guests enjoy it, we consider it a win." It was certainly an unexpected response, especially given how polished and thoughtful the rest of the experience had been. Even with that misstep, the overall meal was exceptional. SingleThread succeeds in delivering a dining experience that feels elegant, immersive, and deeply personal. Between the artistry of the presentations, the balance of flavors, and the technical execution across the menu, it remains one of the most impressive three Michelin star experiences in California.

No tea! Just exceptional ambience, food, and service. It was absolutely worth driving nearly two hours through traffic and staying overnight (because I'm a responsible adult, and I knew I'd be drinking). Honestly, it's been a long time since I've been to a restaurant (other than an omakase spot) that didn't oversalt everything. What's up with American restaurants and their obsession with salt, by the way? Over-salting just masks the natural flavors of the ingredients. I think I'm still traumatized by how aggressively some restaurants season their food (ahem...), so when the gentleman at Single Thread introduced the beef consommé, I instinctively cringed. Turns out it was absolutely delicious. The food is undeniably Japanese-inspired, no matter how much they tried to convince me it's "Californian." They can deny it all they want, but the influence is obvious. And that's a good thing. I had just been to a very expensive omakase restaurant last week and thought I'd be tired of sashimi and Japanese flavors, but every dish here felt fresh, balanced, and beautifully executed. They should seriously consider opening a vegetarian restaurant too, because surprisingly, for a carnivore like me, my favorite dish of the night was actually one of the vegetable dishes. A special shout-out to the service. The waitstaff noticed I was completely full and kindly offered to pack my dessert to go without me even asking. To other Michelin-starred restaurants: take notes. That's how you make guests feel cared for instead of overwhelmed by an endless parade of courses. P.S. If you have the time, take a tour of their organic garden. I loved seeing where the ingredients were grown, and the farm itself is beautiful. There's also a very cute dog roaming around, which is always a bonus.

Set in the idyllic town of Healdsburg, Single Thread was an incredible experience. The farm to table restaurant serves a coursed meal with inspirations from traditional Japanese kaiseki. The dishes were beautifully plated and delicious. Service was friendly and professional. They also offer a non-alcoholic paring which was very interesting and a must try if you're not a heavy drinker. The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice and felt as though you were being transported to another place entirely. All the elements came together to create a whimsical experience and a wonderful evening. This was a whole dance from start to finish! My parents took me here for my birthday and I was blown away by the entire experience. The restaurant is located in Healdsburg, which is a super cute town in Sonoma County! We were seated at the table right in front of the kitchen and it was impressive watching the entire flow of the service. Every dish was meticulous, thoughtful, and delicious. There was never a moment we needed to ask for anything because they were ten steps ahead of us. We all opted for the wine pairing which I thought was fair and good. My only criticism is that the ounces of wine poured into our glasses was quite different. This wasn't a huge deal though as I felt they were pretty generous with the pours. Time passed quickly and we were seated for about three hours. It was truly a unique and very intimate experience. Nothing compares!

This is a culinary experience, though most would be put off by the cost. I went as a birthday present to myself. They do take the time to make you feel special and not just a regular diner. The food, presentation, and service was impeccable. I'm adding a copy of my menu, though it changes frequently based on product availability. It's casual beautiful, understated venue that doesn't cater to huge crowds. It is very intimate.

Service: ***** Ambience: ***** Food: *** Presentation: ***** I had to give 4 stars overall though the experience as a whole was excellent, loved the top notch service and the artistic presentation. I loved the duck but the rest of the dishes were underwhelming, compared to other fine dining experiences I've had around the world, especially at that price tag.

One of my favorite mocktail pairings!

My two friends and I had a 7:45pm reservation, and I regret not arriving a little earlier to wander their charming downtown area. They have their own private parking lot, and there's plenty of street parking. We were seated within 5 minutes of arriving, and I was grateful for our table in the corner as it was quieter. We had efficient, professional service and although I appreciated the rundown of each dish, I wish we were given the menu to keep throughout our meal instead of when we left. I typically forget everything I'm told after I've heard it, especially when I'm not familiar with certain ingredients :) Everything tasted wonderful and fresh, and the mocktail pairing was unique. My favorite course was the first because of its initial impression; we sat down to a gorgeous flower arrangement with little plates already scattered throughout for us to grab. One of my friends typically doesn't eat seafood because she's sensitive to its fishy smell, but she loved all the seafood served. We were so full by the end of our 10 course tasting, and we left immensely satisfied with our experience. My friend also noted he hopes to stay at their inn next time; I believe it's $1317 a night and includes a dinner reservation as well as a breakfast. Prices as shown on OpenTable: 7-Course Tasting Menu: $350.20 10-Course Tasting (M-W): $453.20 10-Course Tasting (Th-Sun): $504.70 Extras Nightly Wine Pairing: $300 Mocktail Pairing: $150 Unforgettable Wine Pairing: $1500 Reserve Wine Pairing: $500 Wagyu Supplement: $90

SingleThread is on par with French Laundry. No question. Interior was excellent. Service was excellent. Food was among the best. Not all 3 starred Michelin restaurants are the same, and SingleThread proves it. They easily place in the S-tier within the 3 starred recognition. We left satisfied on all acounts. Thanm you SingleThread.

3 Michelin star restaurant in Healdsburg This wasn't on our Napa agenda at all...until my sister said "oh look I can get a reservation!" and then I had to figure out how we were going to get from San Jose to Oakville to Sonoma to Healdsburg all in one day. 10 course meal is a treat for the eyes and taste buds. We were greeted at the kitchen window with a welcome palate cleanser (?) and then we sat down to the prettiest edible centerpiece for the first course. It doesn't really matter what specific dishes we had because it changes seasonally, they grow most of their veggies on their farm (which you can tour before your meal only on certain days, make a res ahead of time, the farm is 10min drive away from the restaurant. What really impressed me the most is that they accommodated each individuals preferences/allergies (which we told them way in advance) so we all could enjoy every single dish. Let me tell you how big a deal this was for us. One of us was gluten free/no raw seafood, one of us was no seafood, no fish! (At a freaking sushi inspired kaiseki place!). But all 10 courses looked very similar for each of us but yet had substitutions. To me that was super impressive. The entire team was super knowledgeable about every single ingredient. They are well trained in both service and answering random questions (how many ppl can you seat here? Why is the restaurant called SingleThread? Can you eat these little flowers?) The theme was "tomato" in one dish and I hate tomatoes but it was still pretty interesting. Tomato ice cream! Overall this was the most bougie over the top meal I've ever had, but way more enjoyable and fun than the other 3-star Michelin restaurant in Napa. Bravo to the entire staff!

Food Service Wine Beer Experience Tonight was my first night here and I don't know how I missed it since it has been open nine years. It was so good that it blows my mind. Since I was just in Paris for 15 days, I booked this upon my return so that I could experience the American version of perfection. It is mind blowing how good it is here. Every course and every moment ... feels special and delicious. Americans have definitely enhanced the lifestyle experience. I know I like it in France... and I love it here at home! Maybe a bit more! I'm so proud that this is in our neighborhood. Feeling so blessed in this moment. Grateful for Chef who really makes a difference and really makes something special to remember forever. Seriously ... my favorite mashed potatoes ever! And A-5 Wagyu magic!

Came here for my birthday dinner and it was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had! When you enter you're greeted by this beautifully executed array of welcome bites, followed by 9 courses of seasonal, Japanese inspired dishes. My favorites were the gravenstein apple, a duck liver parfait, and the caramelized mugi shime, which was thinly sliced wagyu over a warm bed of porridge. Beautiful interior and service was excellent, everything was accounted for and considered, from the menus, to a signed birthday card, to the well polished staff serving and explaining each course. Overall an excellent experience and it's a no surprise that this restaurant earned three Michelin stars!

Spectacular! Our favorite fine dining experience! They offer a tour of their farm, and I highly recommend you go if you have time. It's a nice touch to see where they source most of their produce. The night starts off with a welcome tea and a glimpse into the kitchen before entering and sitting down to the stunning opening course. The spread is both tastes amazing and visually beautiful. About 10 tasty bites of food - oysters, sashimi, black sesame tofu, all delicious. There's 3 different wine pairings ($300/500/1000), we opted to share the basic pairing. It was very nice of the sommelier to give us an extra glass of champagne so we could toast! Their Japanese-American farm to table tasting menu hit every high note, not a single misstep on their menu. I enjoyed learning about where they sourced the food and the creation of the dish. Some highlights included the duck consume, the squash blossom and scallop dish, and the apricot jelly with tuna! We then enjoyed dessert up on the rooftop, a wonderful way to wrap up the nice evening! Enjoyed their early summer menu and can't wait to come try the other seasons!

We went to SingleThread with high expectations and they were met. The entirety of the experience was not perfect, but it came darn close. Our reception by the staff was nothing short of excellent. The ambiance, decor, and warm wood feel of the interior was sumptuous, elegant, yet welcoming. I did not feel like I was in a stuffy restaurant. The presentation of each dish was excellent. The amuse-bouches stole the show early on, and were presented on an incredible platter featuring real plants. The courses were all 8/10 or more. Everything was carefully sourced and incredibly fresh. The wine pairings were tasteful and creative. I sometimes spring for the more expensive pairings but was thoroughly pleased with the selection of mostly new world wines (read: excellent wines from California). The roof was also quite lovely, although the service slowed down there quite a bit. We waited longer than we would have liked for our coffee, which was delicious and warm. 98/100 is not perfect. But Single Thread earns its three stars and my utmost respect. It's worth the trip to Healdsburg.

Is it worth to try restaurant for pregnant woman? ( if its lots of seafood, dont wanna try and cant eat)

I am allergic to seafood which I thought might be impossible for them to accommodate and they completely accommodated it! My husband had the full seafood meal and I had one without and we both loved it.

Can you make reservations for 1?

Yes, you absolutely can. Please book on our Tock link. Reservations are released on the 1st of every month at 9 AM PST.

What's the cost for 2 without wine?

Can they accomodate a non-raw eater?

Yes, if you let them know in advance, they will cook all the raw items or substitute with something else.

Do they offer a gluten free menu?

Do they accept reservations for a party of 1?

If we called ahead would the chef be willing to create a vegan menu?

We requested a vegetarian menu for one of the party & was accommodated . They ask you to specify what you can or cannot eat ie. Eggs , cheese , etc in advance .

Do they offer wine corkage/ have anything by the glass if one isn't interested in the wine pairing?

Yes they have corkage. From the concierge, she says: "You're welcome to bring up to two 750mL bottles of wine. We charge $100 per bottle for corkage, but we will waive one fee for each 750mL bottle purchased from our list." Also they do have wine by…

This Inn is walking distance to downtown which is what drew us to this location. Ve was our host and she was very nice and gave us a short tour around the place. I was confused because we were told we could use the heated pool and then, when we went to go use it, there were multiple signs saying it's closed. The walls are thin, you can hear everything occurring in the hallway. Our room needed love. There was lots of dust build up, the television was extremely small, and the bed frame was very flimsy. The mattress was also quite hard and it was difficult to sleep throughout the night. I was looking forward to the speakeasy but it was closed throughout our stay. I'm not sure if it's closed for good or just wasn't open when I was there. There was no information given about it. We went out and came back to the Inn around 8 pm, there was an empty bottle of wine and dirty glasses sitting around the entrance area. I'm not sure if that was due to available tastings at the Inn or if someone just left it out because we were not informed of tasting offerings at the Inn. Breakfast was served between 8-10 and it was soggy French toast, warm yogurt and room temperature orange juice. All in all, I would not stay here again and I would choose to stay farther away at a nicer place.

The River Belle Inn goes above and beyond to create an experience you will remember and talk about for awhile. Looking forward to our next visit to River Belle Inn.

The gardens are so well-kept (as is the whole house) - we spent a fair amount of time out near the koi pond. Our room was huge with a bathroom you could turn around. The breakfast is delicious! The food comes right from the kitchen and all the ingredients are fresh. Really wonderful cook! All the staff are friendly and helpful - very patient too. Special thanks to our inn host Kiki who knew everything we needed, was fun to talk to, and who loved the same kind of music as my husband. We can't wait to go back! Healdsburg is great too!

It sounded like a large refrigerator condenser running, but not the one in our room. It was quite loud. This went on 24/7 and was very disturbing. Don't know what it was but it frustrated us immensely. Also, we try to be conscious of not having our room cleaned every day, so we asked for every other day, which in the time we stayed there worked out to be only once. They made the bed and left towels. They did not clean or replace the water glasses we used or the coffee cups and did not refill the coffee creamers in the room. The patio was lovely, but the chairs they had to sit on are torture devices. Metal bands for the seat were so uncomfortable. We had to take small pillows from the room to sit on. I'm sure we're not the first. Would we stay there again? No.

My boyfriend and I visited the Honor Mansion on a Sunday, for a quick getaway to Healdsburg (we…read morelive in Sonoma County). While we aren't traditional "B&B" types with flowerly and overly feminine designs, we opened our minds up after reading all about the amazing experiences people have had at the Honor Mansion. Upon arrival at the Mansion we were greeted by Lupita, who is the manager of the property. She was extremely professional, extremely welcoming, and made our experience so special. The main Mansion is really lovely and had touches of traditional B&Bs (a parlor, a breakfast room, DVDs to borrow and a fireplace for chatting, rooms upstairs) with a modern, contemporary Victorian style. We stayed in Vineyard Suite #1, which is located in an annex near the main Mansion. The suite was exceptional. From the bedding (I think it was the most comfortable bed I have slept in and I travel for a living) to the bath tubs (TWO, count them TWO tubs - one a soaking tub inside and the other outside is a jacuzzi). A fireplace, big TV (we didn't even use!), wet bar (brandy anyone?), a beautiful huge shower that is big enough for a small family to live in, and a lovely, private back patio (again, jacuzzi tub). They anticipate every amenity and need you may have - and they do a great job at it. Wine was waiting for us in our room, but we instead enjoyed a glass of Dutcher Crossing offered at our welcome with Lupita. They also have appetizers in the evening in the Mansion. We walked downtown to Healdsburg for dinner at Valette, and took a cab back. Tea was delivered to our door in the morning with delicious homemade biscotti. After a relaxing wake up, we wandered to the Mansion for an exceptional breakfast. They have different specials each day - this day it was a Southwestern style omelette with cheddar biscuits (with a hint of jalapeno!). We also nibbled on fresh fruit and pastries. They can bring breakfast to your suite, but we loved the cozy breakfast nook and chatting with the friendly staff. Oh, and I forgot - MIMOSAS! They have the longest list I have ever seen of mimosas! We tried the mimosa of the month - pomegranate. It was high quality sparkling and the flavor was so great. You get two complimentary per guest, so enjoy. We walked the grounds and wished we had more time for bocce and warmer weather for the pool - pool side massage? Yes, please! We loved it so much we bought a gift certificate for my parents. Let's just say - if they don't use it, we will! An exceptional, romantic experience for fans of tradition and fans of the modern.

Each room is a little different, we had the garden suite. It had it's own private driveway, many different outdoor seating areas and an outdoor jacuzzi. The room itself was very cozy. Breakfast is served every morning and there was wine and cheese each evening. Every staff member was very helpful and went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. DVDs for your room, passes to the local gym or wineries, they had it all. The grounds are gorgeous and we took time to walk around in the grass and play bocce and try our luck on the putting green. So much fun. We had a wonderful stay here and it will be part of the plans when we return to the area, highly recommended.
