The food here was amazing! I was surprised that the chicken tenders and fries were made to perfection! The drinks were amazing but most of all was the service by Austin! He went above an beyond to accommodate us and was very pleasant. We had a large group and Austin was attentive and accommodating. We kept coming back during our stay and it was due to Austin's exceptional service! Thank you and would definitely recommend this place!

Spent the afternoon with Alan who took great care of us. Grabbed some lunch: hubby had the chili (sooooo good) and I have been on a grilled cheese kick and this was pretty good too. Loved the bacon on it but the soup was not as tomatoey as I like, but had great flavors. I got the fruity drink first (hey, we are at a resort) but hubby ordered the Margarita and Alan made an awesome margarita!! Smooth tequila! Second round was margaritas for everyone!! Good food. Great drinks. Awesome service!

This bar is awesome! The service staff work hard and are kind and thoughtful! The "passion on your Palate" is an outstanding cocktail, customized by 1 bartender to not be too sweet and then on Saturday the bartender added Tajin on the rim and I was in such heaven I had 2 in a row! The outdoor seating is lovely with sunny and shady spots and a beautiful fire pit that is toasty! Alternately you can sit inside and there are many options, not just at the bar. The bar also will serve the full restaurant menu including wine. The Daou Cabernet and the Pessimist Red are both available by the glass and absolutely delicious! Also get any of the desserts! I had the chocolate mousse cake the first night and then my last night, they ran out of that and the tres leches! So I asked for some berries in a bowl and the kitchen concocted a beautiful berries on a sponge cake with gelato and a ginger cookie that was out of this world! Thank you, Chaz, for the lovely service on Friday night! Last but not least the tomato soup and the fish dishes were great! A me to door dining companion said the salmon with the couscous was the best meal of several that she had! Last but not least, Friday and Saturday nights they have some music. I was there for the Friday night guitar player and he was wonderful, playing music from the 70s, 80s, 90s to current day. This bar was definitely a highlight of my day for the conference I was attending at the hotel.

    Cheers!

The best thing about this bar is the patio view in the evening. They light a huge fire in the fire pit, and you can see the backdrop of the golf course and palm trees behind it...beautiful. I was excited to see shishito peppers on the menu, but they didn't have that dish available during our stay. We tried the fried cheese curds, and they were fried to the point where the cheese had left the building! The shrimp and herb crostini were buttery and rich. Pretty perfect with the Hess Chardonnay. We also shared complimentary flat bread served with tart cherry jam and a tomato compote. The food was decent as was the service. It wasn't a stand-out experience, but we left feeling pretty satisfied.

A resort Happy Hour with a bit of history. Happy HourZ a-z Here is a wonderful resort bar happy hour worth visiting. First of all, you can't go wrong with just hanging out at the Scottsdale Resort. It is comfortable and relaxing. However, add to this thought of spending a nice afternoon overlooking a beautiful golf course while sipping on a nice happy hour wine, and you are in for a treat. Our favorite place is on the patio sitting around the fire pit during these fall time evenings. The food selections are very nice also. Nice presentations, nice portion size, and priced right. Add to that, appetizers are tasty to boot. As of this writing, the six Happy Hour appetizers and well cocktails are priced at $6.00 each. Wine by the glass is at $7.00. Draft beer is at $5.00. This is great pricing for a Scottsdale Resort. In addition, there is plenty of free parking or valet parking if you prefer. Here is a bit of trivia taken from a photograph on the wall outside in the hallway outside the Bar Six40. A retired Army Chaplin, Winfield Scott, purchased 640 acres of land (at $3.50 an acre) in 1888. The town was originally named Orangedale. Six years later, In 1894, the town changed its name to Scottsdale in honor of the founder, Winfield Scott. In turn, Bar Six40 commemorates those first 640 acres that were to become Scottsdale, AZ. One of our hobbies is sampling various Happy Hour locations offered in Scottsdale and Phoenix. We then add them on our Happy Hour website with information from times to menus. Check it out. This review is for the totality of the experience…read more I made an advance reservation at Alma Scottsdale for a mid-sized group of 7 to celebrate a special occasion. Our party arrived right on time for our reservation, but we were not seated until 15 min later because our table was not ready. It took about an additional 15 min to get tap water for the table (there was not enough provided anyways), and to place our orders too another ~20 min. The food did not arrive until 30 min later. For context, we eventually learned that the restaurant was short staffed and the bartender was also operating as our waiter. When the food finally arrived, there was a mix-up on what was delivered. We had checked with the staff who delivered one of the dishes: we ordered the "wild mushroom" side, but what we received did not look quite like it. We asked clarifying questions x2, but were assured, "no, it is the wild mushroom." Turned out, it was the mushroom empanada that was delivered to our table, which we originally did not order. The management did rectify the situation upon the conclusion of the event when we were paying the bill, but to us, it felt a bit accusatory as if we intentionally wanted to cause a huge fuss about the final total, which was absolutely not the case. The food in general was delicious. If this was a more standard dining experience, it would have been 4-5 stars just for the food. The service was very subpar, and really colored the entire experience negatively, therefore the two star review. I understand that staffing shortages happen -- fine. My family has worked in food service as wait staff for 25+ YEARS, so I am empathetic. But for management to ring up our bill and then come confront us in an inflammatory manner, making us feel like we were wrong, on an occasion to celebrate something special, was extremely disappointing.

We sat outside in the evening shade for a nice gathering. We shared the Cuban Caesar salad with romaine, manchego cheese, sliced pears, toasted pepitas, masa croutons, avocado, fried plantain chips and Aji amarillo Caesar. The salad was crisp, well dressed and delicious with the fried / curled plantain chips. The shrimp cerviche with fried plantains, blue corn tortilla chips, lime, cilantro and cucumber pico de gallo was ok but not remarkable. Our final selection was the Gaucho spiced skirt steak with chimichurri, and masa potato cakes. The steak was overcooked, not medium rare, bland taste and tough. The potato cake was tasteless. Overall, the ambience and service was good, however, the food lacks any hint of Cuban flare except for the fried plantains. When I think of Cuban food, I salivate for the unique taste profiles with a hint of sweetness from the fruits. At The canal Club, I found it non-existing. The name, setting, and environment is good but the kitchen needs to let in on the theme being Cuban.

I ordered the Honey Jalapeño Chicken Sandwich with fries, and so did my friend. We both agreed it was delicious especially after adding a little ranch. Since we had a larger group, we ordered a martini tower, which was fun to share and definitely had enough alcohol to catch a nice vibe. One of my friends ordered the Huevos Rancheros and really enjoyed them, while another got the chicken sliders and liked them so much she took the leftovers home and happily finished them later. The highlight of the experience was the live one-man band, who created a great atmosphere, and our server, "Flexy Lexi." She was incredibly sweet, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Great food, fun drinks, live entertainment, and excellent service. We'll definitely be back!

Friends had been to the Montauk before and invited us to meet them for a weekend lunch…read more I made a reservation, so we could be sure to sit inside, since it is already well over 100 degrees outside. The six of us were seated across from the bar, and it was HOT . I started sweating and needed to use the menus as a fan and drink water to try and cool off. The restaurant had already been open for almost 2 hours, so I am not sure why it was so hot inside (others in our party were hot too, so I wasn't just me). Positives are the restaurant's beach decor and the hamburgers. Several people in our party ordered burgers, and they were cooked to perfection and the fries were really good! Negatives are very few seafood menu options and the fish tacos were terrible. They were drowning in a mayonnaise based slaw. The corn tortillas were really fresh and tasty, but when I bit into my taco I could mostly only taste mayonnaise and the pickled onions. Our friends even made an unsolicited comment that my tacos did not look good. Luckily, I selected fries as my side, because they were the best thing on my plate. With a name like Montauk, and the beach decor, I expected more fresh seafood options on the menu. More than half the menu was not seafood (Mediterranean platter, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, brussels sprouts, salads, etc.). Unfortunately, Montauk does not live up to the hype.

We kicked things off with a complimentary prickly pear vodka cocktail (delicious) paired with a comp app -- looks like they rotate these, and I got hummus with crudite and crackers. During the meal, there were 2 standout dishes that made this memorable. - Hamachi Crudo: THE BEST crudo I have ever had. They switch up the dressing regularly, but whatever they put on mine was unforgettable - 10 oz Wagyu Strip: solid steak, but nothing "Wagyu" tasting. It didn't have that melt-in-your-mouth fatty richness I was hoping for from wagyu and was slightly chewy. - Scallops: tender! - Asparagus: came with a creamy sauce which was a great touch - Chocolate Espresso Mousse Cake: MAGICAL. Layered, with crunchy pralines and vanilla ice cream. If you've had the chocolate hazelnut cake at Carbone, this gave me major similar vibes... that good! Will absolutely be back to try a different cut of steak and also the loaded baked potato. The ambience alone is worth the trip, but the crudo and that cake are what's going to stick with me.
