Update: 12/30/2024 : So unfortunately it seems like only Megan is able to put care and passion into constructing the bouquets. This time Salvador helped make my bouquets and he did such a passionless job at it, where he simply tied things together without even trying to make it look nice. The ribbon, as you can see, was jumbled together like a 5 year old did it and the overall bouquet looks so bland and heartless. Salvador's nonchalant attitude and low effort detracts from the high quality and elegant experience that I had last time at Grapevine. Salvador didn't even ask to see if I liked the construction or asked for my opinion of how he assembled it, he just tied everything together effortlessly and said "here you go" and left, with no consideration whatsoever about the shopper's preference. If you have to come here, ask for Megan who is only here on Sunday or ask for some other staff, just please don't use Salvador else you'll waste your time and money on a poor quality bouquet. read more

Grapevine is beyond a Garden and Floral or Florist. Dana and her team know everyone and everything there is to know about how to create an incredible experience for you and guests. Truth be told, I'm not from Staten Island, so I didn't know who to turn to when my husband and I got engaged....thankfully my in-laws said, "We'll go see Dana at Grapevine." So, that's just what we did--let's face it, when a local tells you where to go, you listen--Duh. Let me tell you something---Dana knows her stuff, she knows what's in season when, when it'll be available and how much it'll be and who to get it from and why or why not. She listens carefully and asks a lot of pointed questions so that when she and her team builds what you're looking for it is beyond your wildest dreams and expectations. That and the fact that she knows every house of worship, cemetery and funeral home on the island and probably beyond. She knows what you can and can't do or get away with. She knows what flowers mean and what they bring to your events. And---she respects what you know. So, when you speak with Dana, she 'gets it' quickly. She's a subject matter expert in her field--which means she's very savvy which is why she's so good and why her product is what it is---excellent and nothing less. Grapevine provided the flowers for my Bridal shower, Our wedding and even dressed our beautiful wedding cake! And the flowers were stunning....beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of... GG&F has a wide variety of cemetery arrangements. They were just opening when we arrived so we picked what was out. We went with a dozen fake tulips. Thats what the cemetery wants it doesn't breed mosquitos and they last longer obviously. lol The guy that was there was very helpful showing us the varieties and what the prices were. Unfortunately though everything we picked was expensive. So i do appreciate the variety ill only come here in a pinch. read more

Looks can be deceiving. At an initial glance, this place seems like an idyllic and vibrant nursery. I've taken an interest in gardening during quarantine and come to this place because it was local. The employee working was very rude and unhelpful. Her demeanor was so poor, I left without making a purchase. Which is a shame because they have beautiful plants on display. Well, to simply call this place a "florist" is really the grossest of misnomers... Of course this place had a wonderful selection of fresh cut flowers, but this place had something much more special to offer than just flowers. Just want to share our very pleasant experience... Last week, we were hunting for a nice but inexpensive real Christmas wreath, so we figured why not give Grapevine a try since it's pretty close to home and it lalways ooks very nice from outside. It's amazing how sometimes the simplest things can make your day, because not only did we get a gorgeous wreath for a geat price (more on that in a bit), bit it was also the experience that makes this place a MUST-VISIT if you need an instant rush of holiday spirit. It's not very big in size, but the selection of trees and holiday greenery was incomparable in quantity and most important, quality! Before we even got to the entrance gate, a wonderful aroma of fresh pine cut right through the cold air. The dozens of beautiful trees, wreathes, and blankets of all sizes made it so hard to make a choice. After finally picking a wreath after almost a half-our browsing, we went to go inside the store to check out, and that's when we were really blown away by this place! The entry foyer was fully-stocked with more wreaths, centerpieces and greenery that would make anyone want to take them all home. But what I won't forget was an incredible aroma of fresh-cut Christmas trees and pine unlike any I've ever smelled that I can only describe as intoxicating! For a few moment,s I forgot I was in Staten Island and it totally made the experience for me. Inside the store there were so many beautiful poinsettias and displays that you could barely walk! But another great thing about this place is the owner is very pleasant and also has a graphic design background and it shows in the highly artful quality of everything they produce. They also make their own bows and custom Christmas ornaments and all are beautiful. We took home a very handsomely-sized and tastefully-decorated wreath for only $25. When sap gets on your hands just from holding a wreath and your car smells like a Christmas tree, you know it's as fresh as can be. It's hanging on the inside door in our apartment and I smell it whenever I go near it. It's literally the nicest wreath we've ever purchased... There's no doubt that we'ill be back in the future not only for Christmas decor, but for other holidays and floral needs as well. A truly classy establishment! read more

I placed an online order for a Mother's Day bouquet to be delivered on Mother's Day. I received confirmation of my order and my credit card was charged. Toward the end of the day, my mom still had not received anything and so getting concerned, I tried contacting grapevine garden by phone to confirm that the order would be delivered. I could not get through and received a message indicating that the mailbox was full. I also sent two emails inquiring about the order and did not receive a response. I was pretty upset, given that this was an important holiday and my mom did not get her flowers. The next day, I still had not heard from anyone. I called again and was now able to leave a message requesting a call back. Hours passed and since I still had not heard from anyone, I tried calling again. This time, someone answered and stated they would pass on my message to the owner. I finally heard from the owner Dana toward the end of the day. She did apologize and suggested that their new driver made some delivery mistakes. She also mentioned that they were too busy and had not checked their emails. She provided a full refund and offered to send the bouquet that day, which my mom received. While it was good of them to rectify the situation, I am still dumbfounded at how an establishment can be unreachable regarding missing orders on a holiday. Had someone responded to my email, or rather actually READ the email, or cleared out their mailbox, perhaps this could have been resolved the day of. Knowing Mother's Day is a busy holiday, I would think a florist establishment would make effort to be available to customers and this did not appear to be the case at all. This was quite disappointing. I hope they will read this and work on making appropriate changes to avoid such situations in the future. read more

HORRIBLE!!!!!! Don't bother with them! I ordered my future mother in law a bouquet for Mother's Day from Grapevine on their website, which is connected through Teleflora, and have had the most stressful and upsetting experience. The bouquet I ordered was a Cotton Candy mix, Deluxe size. I used another local florist through Teleflora to order 2 more bouquets for my mother and sister, all the same size, but different arrangements. My mother and sister's flowers were absolutely stunning and true to the photo advertised online. I was so happy and couldn't wait to see the flowers I bought my mother in law. My fiance sent me a pic of the arrangement and I was shocked! They were TINY! They didn't look similar to the arrangement I ordered WHATSOEVER, or have any of the flowers that were supposed to be in the bouquet. It looked like it was worth $5, nothing like the photo advertised online. Then, I saw it in person and it looked even smaller and uglier than the photo. I called several times that day and got the answering machine. I left a message and waited for a phone call Monday. No one called me. I called again and spoke to the owner who said she has to see what went wrong with the order and that she will call back in 45 minutes. I waited.. I waited.. I waited all day and nothing. I called again later that day and got their answering machine again. So, I waited until the next day and I called again. The owner told me she still didn't know what went wrong with the order and offered a 50% discount towards a future order OR she can send a beautiful bouquet, a larger one, to my Mother in law's house that day. I opted for that choice, since the money is not the issue for me. I wanted my Mother in law to get a BEAUTIFUL bouquet for Mother's Day, since it was the first time I've ever gotten an arrangement delivered to her. I anxiously waited to see the second bouquet arrive. WOW! That was my reaction when they arrived, in a BAD WAY. The bouquet only had a few bigger flowers, although prettier than the first, they were still very small, and still looked like they were picked out of a garden by myself (and I suck at putting floral arrangements together) and just stuffed in a vase. The vase was the only pretty thing to see along with one pretty lily. I was LIVID that my Mother in Law had to go through this again. I called, very angry, and left a nasty voicemail asking them to call me back..... And of course they did not call me back. I was about to call again and stopped myself because it is obvious that this owner likes to take money from people and lie to them about anything that may go wrong. Instead of getting stressed out over her incompetence, I am going to order from another florist in Staten Island once I move over there and make sure I let people know not to order from her. The woman behind the counter whom I believed was the owner was very knowledgeable about the flowers. Made me breath taking arrangements for my party. Couldn't be happier with the service & quality craftsmanship. I received so many compliments on the arrangements guests were literally fighting over who was taking them home at the end of the evening. Thank you Grapevine for everything! What an awful experience! I ordered flowers and candles for the tables at my engagement party from Grapevine. The woman I spoke to was really helpful in the store and I had no worries while placing the order. She even threw in free delivery. The flowers were supposed to be delivered at 6pm. At 6:40 I called to check on them. After being placed on hold, I was told they would be there in 10 minutes. They did not arrive until 7:40, after all of my guests had already arrived. I was so embarrassed having flowers being delivered 40 minutes into my engagement party. I even had ordered an extra arrangement for the placecard table, which couldn't have been more pointless since my guests had all picked up their cards by that time. But the worst part was the quality of flowers! They were NOT the flowers the woman had promised me, not even close. There were probably 1-2 nice flowers in each arrangement and the remaining flowers were closed, or looked like weeds. Now imagine how embarrassing it was to have UNBLOOMED flowers being delivered in the middle of my party. I am convinced that they completely forgot about the party (even though I had just been in there a few days earlier to pay the balance) and when I called at 6:40 to check, they threw together whatever they had on hand and rushed them over. It really upset me and embarrassed me during what was a special night. I really felt taken advantage of. Shame on them. read more

Great florist! On Mother's Day I had a last minute request and this place was so very accomodating and let me place an order for delivery despite the fact that I called them a bit later than usual.
