I was skeptical by the outside of the building but when I walked in the two workers were very friendly and the cook also had an amazing personality. They told me the mac n cheese was the best and IT WAS!!! The ribs were flavorful and tender... No sauce needed. The beans were decent and the cornbread was a little tough/dry but it doesn't matter because the mac n cheese was the best I'd had. Mac n cheese was authentic! OMG! The best! Ribs were delicious, beware, they have a kick to them. I was not a fan of their baked beans or sauce(comes on the side so it was perfect). This place by far has some of the best BBQ in the CV. Every time I go I feel like I'm cheating them due to their low prices . Being from Clovis I eaten at a lot of the BBQ places in the Fresno/ Clovis area and NOT one of them compares to the value you get at Grape Wood , If you're in the mode for good food they are the place to go. Only downside is that they are close on the weekends. Homemade Biscuits, Corn bread, Mac and Cheese and the beans are a bonus. The meat is slow cooked and the chicken is to die for. What a surprise this place is... tiny ,take out only so order ahead! The surprise was the ribs and tri tip were seasoned to perfection. Overall - Very satisfied with the tritip sandwhich, beans and potato salad. Service was fast and the staff/owners are friendly. They also take call ahead orders which I would recommend for large orders. I was slightly dissapointed that there was not any sauce ready but the tritip was perfect without. Also, the size of the location and entry area is small, so I am certain that as people become aware of this place they will have to expand. My coworkers were excited that a new bbq place opened up and for several days were encouraging me to go. Not fully familar with the area and having forgot the name i tried to google bbq but couldnt find them; fortunately I found them on yelp. They have a small corner spot not far from the bank. The tritip was cooked perfectly which allowed me to overlook that there was no sauce, the beans were very good and I thought the potato salad was good too. It was perfect size for a meal and the price was good overall. I definitely would have them again. Good luck with the new business! read more

Hands down the best BBQ around! The only thing I have not tried is the chicken and usually that's the first thing I try. The first time I visited I tried the ribs and now I'm hooked! I add tri-tip, hot links, and change up the sides but I won't ever stray from the ribs. Great food, excellent portions, prepared by a top notch chef. Was down in Selma and discovered the Grapewood Grill while searching Yelp for a lunch spot...glad I did. Though it's off the radar and easy to miss, this is a little gem of a BBQ. I ordered 3 ribs and an 8 oz Tri Tip sandwich. It's pretty much a one man operation...service is a bit slow but...the gentleman cutting the meat and preparing your order is super friendly and knows his que. The ribs, and he added some rib tips along with the 3 spareribs, were well seasoned, flavorful and tender. The Tri Tip was cut a little thicker than I like but was also well cooked, tender and flavorful. All in all I was quite pleased with the meal. I drove back to Fresno and shared the meal with my brother(yes, there was enough for two). The BBQ sauce was a little to sweet for my liking but it did have a spicy twang to it that was enjoyable. I used it sparingly and added the remaining sauce to my personal jar of home made BBQ sauce. Next time I'm in Selma, I'll certainly not hesitate to go back again. Note: this is a little hole in the wall, not a chain or high end bbq joint...just a good example of a hard working small businessman doing what he enjoys...KUDOS for that. read more

They were closed Saturday but a guy came out to my car as my daughter and I sat there trying to think of another place to eat. He indicated that the place was closed. I explained that I have been wanting to try this food for a while but I work in Visalia and could not make it to this place during the week. He informed us he was catering that day but if we would like he could put something together for us if we came back later. We went back and ordered the food. I ordered catering from them for our 3rd of July party. I ordered 3 Tri-tips, 3 whole chickens and a large tray of their Mac n cheese. I placed my order a week in advance and they were very friendly over the phone letting me know about the prices and answered all my questions. The day of the party my husband went to pick it up and had to wait a little past our scheduled pickup time but I guess they didn't realize Selma has their big fireworks show on the 3rd not the 4th and got a little over whelmed! The food was a HUGE hit with our friends and family. Especially the chicken, which shocked me. Even my Father in Law who HATES chicken said it was the best chicken he ever had and called me the next day to see if I had any leftovers and I'm telling you this man hates chicken! The tri-tip was already sliced which I didn't know they were going to do but that was one less thing I had to worry about. The Mac N Cheese was also a hit, everyone said it was different (which it is) but it's so addicting...I love it! When we go there just for plates I get the half chicken and double Mac N Cheese because it's so good! I will probably be back next year for our party as now my husband has to work on that day and he doesn't have time to cook once he gets home and it was very reasonably priced and everyone enjoyed it! read more
