Greatest breakfast place!!! Loved the smoked salmon. So good, had to order all our Thanksgiving sides from Grateful Bread. Looked forward to going back for breakfast on Thanksgiving and picking up our sides. Would travel all the way from Texas again to have breakfast here. Ok so let me start out with I'm a experienced fine dining Chef of over 16 years in the biss. I eat here frequently and love there breakfast and lunch. So naturally when I herd they were opening for dinner I was exited to try it. Our server told us the specials one of which was "meat balls with marinara and linguini". No mention of spicy. My wife and I both ordered the special. When we got our food the marinara had the consistence of water not a thick hardy sauce as it should be. The plate was garnished with sriracha hot sauce . I took my first bite and all I could taste was watered down Sriracha. Being that I have acid reflux disease this instantly caused me pain. When my server came to see how I was doing I explained my and my wife's discontentment with our meal. He asked if we would like to send it back or have something else . I politely declined (as I and anyone in the business knows better). When it came time to pay they wanted me to pay for one of the entrees. I told him we both ate one meatball and that we would pay for our app's and drinks but we didn't want to pay for the entrees we didn't enjoy or eat. At this point the Chef came out of the kitchen with a not so happy look on his face and asked if there was a problem. Not wanting to cause a seen or embarrass him I just looked him in the eye and told him no. Our server was vary polite and did his job well. I left him a 25% tip and left . I hope this is not a new pattern forming at a restaurant that I used to enjoy . Maybe next time things will be different . read more

The best service I've ever had, warm atmosphere and great food kept us coming back throughout our vacation. Truly a special place.

Went here on motel staff's recommendation. I got the oyster and egg scramble, and it ruled. The girlfriend got the tuna salad sandwich, which also ruled, along with a simple side salad that looked so artfully arranged that I almost took a picture. She ordered a cookie at the end of the meal and then talked about it for the rest of the day, later telling me that we needed to find a crappy cookie for her to eat so she could stop thinking about how good the previous cookie was. We also got a loaf of rosemary bread to go, and it ruled. Good coffee, good service. I also ordered a cup of the Tillamook cheddar and corn chowder that was so surprisingly bland that not even a storm of Tabasco could not save it. But that, and the fact that this entire place is based on one of my least favorite bands of all time, is not enough for me to give it any less than a ringing recommendation. read more

We had breakfast here this morning. First let me say our server was so warm and friendly...we really hoped the food was great, we were excited to have a breakfast place in our little beach town to visit. Yummer!! We shared the Biscuits and gravy (homemade gravy!!), and the western omelet, extra crispy bacon. All amazing!! The Blueberry scone was the best scone we have ever tasted. Three letters: yum. We have been seeing this place on our trips to PC but finally decided to do breakfast the other day. The large windows make it light and bright, despite the sheets of rain that were coming down. We both had the Stella Blue scramble with fresh biscuits and roasted potatoes. Great food and very filling at a reasonable price. The only drawbacks were the tight seating (you seat yourself but cannot seat others after you are eating and I had quite a time getting into and out of my chair once a large family moved in next to us. The noise level can also be a factor when the place fills up and there are screaming kids, but I have no idea the best way to remedy that. We swung by again this morning but passed on it because the parking lot was overfull and we could see the place was jam packed.. Oh well, another time. read more

I was thinking this wouldn't be as good as it was. it's a seat ur self which is great but get here before 9:30 or u get the cold tables that r more outside. the menu is huge with food from breakfast all the way to lunch/dinner meaning things like hamburgers and pizza. though it is mainly a breakfast place. I had the gingerbread pancakes with side of bacon. it took a while to come. about 20 minutes but the wifi is amazing compared to some areas In town so I watched YouTube videos on my iPhone. the only things is sides are pretty much separate so I had to pay an extra 4 dollars for bacon. also when I ordered my food they suggested I order the kid pancake version because the cakes are huge and the kids are less expensive. I'm glad I did because I barely finished one. they tasted just like gingerbread it was amazing. really glad we came. will come again!!! read more

My boyfriend and I took a little hiatus to Pacific City and he found this cute little place! The portions are absolutely fantastic (even my granola bowl was filling - couldn't even finish it!) Have been here a number of times but not breakfast. Went for breakfast and the coffee is TERRIBLE! Bitter, burnt Italian roast. Not drinkable. My eggs tasted like fish. Must have been cooked on same area without being cleaned. Have good baked goods though. read more

This place is the healthier food option you want when you are on a long drive! I had the sesame ginger basmati bowl and added tofu. My husband had the veggie baguette and added turkey. The dish was delicious, he said his sandwich was awesome. And it was HUGE. We both took half our meals home for dinner. Super fast service too! We our course grabbed two scones to go (also huge!) definitely worth the stop! Be sure to check their hours before you go, they serve breakfast and lunch, then close for a little bit in the late afternoon before they reopen for dinner. read more

My family has been going here for years and it has remained consistent. Excellent bread, nice employees and delicious food! Was here recently and they were packed, but it was worth the wait. Boyfriend and I got egg scrambles with potatoes and sourdough, while our son got challah french toast dips. Everything was perfect! Definitely try the pesto spinach scramble when you go. Worst service ever! Too bad not a whole lot of breakfast choices in pacific city. Ignored from the moment we walked in on Father's Day. Yes we know you are busy, but just a little Acknowledgement goes a long way. Once we got a table, the waitress slammed down the menus on the table without saying a word! Unacceptable! Maybe a hello would be nice! Everyone in our party looked at one another and we walked out because the vibe was so bad! They make you feel so unwelcome! High prices also and shitty service ! I would fire the staff and get people that know what customer service is! I think the owner needs to make an appearance to see what is going on! We went there for breakfast, and it was very good. Food was creative (Costa Rican Gallo pinto and a scramble with sautéed oysters), service was efficient and friendly, and the space (in the new section) light and airy. I am totally baffled by all the positive reviews for this place. I've eaten there three times and each time the food has been completely unremarkable. The first visit I ordered the Challah bread French toast. It was dry, flavorless, not served hot, and the slices were way to thick and difficult to cut. The second visit I ordered bacon and oatmeal. The oatmeal just wasn't very good. How do you screw up oatmeal? The third visit I ordered blueberry pancakes which were just okay. If I had ordered buttermilk pancakes I would have liked them much better since the blueberries they used were sour. And their lemon poppyseed scones are dull and their biscuits are downright gross (almost bitter). And the restaurant is always too cold. I would advise people who want a good breakfast to drive a half hour south and go to the Otis Cafe. read more

I'm giving this 3 stars because the food is good. We went there for dinner with our kids. It was busy- but not packed. We ordered soup and an appetizer for ourselves. The soup came out right away and it was delicious. 20 min goes by and our flatbread came out. We tried to just hold off on eating it as the kids were getting hungry and restless and it felt weird eating all of our food without them having had anything. More time passes and it's getting cold- so we go ahead and eat. We notice the table next to us is getting food all at different times too. It was 2 couples and 2 of them were nearly finished with their meal before the other couple got theirs. At this point the kids are whining and it has been 45 minutes! We ordered a grilled cheese and a chicken satay appetizer for them! Why in the world would this take 45 minutes? We finally got their food after almost an hour, at which point we had to take it to go because we were out of patience and time! Nice date night place if you are wanting a long wait time- but I wouldn't suggest bringing kids. read more

Excellent excellent food and wonderful customer service- dinner was fabulous-we had risotto and penne pasta for our main dishes. First time on oregon coast. My wife and I were just driving around looking for some breakfast. We found the grateful bread. I think God was driving. The place as soon as you walk in the door, you get this wonderful smell of fresh baked bread, scones and cookies it almost lifts you off your feet. We sat down in the sun room to a great view with warm, friendly people around us and ordered our breakfast. I ordered the blueberry pancakes and a side of bacon. My wife had scrambled eggs with sausage,chilis and lots of cheese with their heaven made potatoes and a biscuit. I'm 58 years old and I honestly can't remember a breakfast that ever tasted so good. You really need to be hungry when you eat here or plan on having two complete meals when you order. We will definitely make a point of telling all our friends to stop here and we will be back as soon as we can get back here ourselves. Thankyou for such a great meal.
