Comfort food at its finest...who doesn't love a good grilled cheese! The staff is friendly and accommodating! The location has plenty of outside seating that is communal for the entire plaza that could get packed during standard business lunch hours but there are a few small tables inside the shop. The smash burger and the buffalo fries are also good! read more

Via Door Dash - got their version of a patty melt; a carnivore. Disappointing! The burger looked, tasted and had the texture of a very compressed, low quality frozen patty. Yuck! The chicken Caesar salad was edible. This will NOT happen ever again. read more

Unsure if this place is under new management or ownership, but the laughable sandwich I just received warranted a poor review. That is literally all the chicken that was in the sandwich for a, ehemm, ehemm, CHICKEN sandwich. First time this has ever happened, as the sandwich normally had an actual breast of chicken in it, so they must just be out. Not ok. read more

Ordered the avocado grilled cheese and tomato soup. The cheese on my sandwich didn't seem to be fully melted but the sandwich still tasted good and had a balance of veggie, meat, and sauce. The bread was also perfectly crunchy. The tomato soup was also a good complement to the sandwich but it was unexpectedly spicy that it burned my tongue and mouth . This is one of my favorite food places. The chicken pesto grilled cheese is great, and their sides like the fries and mac'n'cheese have a lot of flavor. I love cheese and this place has delicious grilled cheese sandwiches. I ordered the chicken pesto and it was delicious. The slices of the bread is bigger than grocery bread and it's great. Bread was perfectly grilled with melted cheese and good amount of chicken. Pomme frites (fries) were good with cheese sprinkled on top and had a slight cinnamon taste. Quantity and quality of food was on point. I really want to come back to try the other grilled cheese sandwiches. First time here. Ordered the avo grilled cheese and the original grilled cheese sandwiches to share with the fam. The bread was toasted/grilled to perfection. The original grilled cheese sandwich was delicious! The avo grilled cheese also came with bacon, so my sister said it was a bit on the heavier and saltier side. But if that's the taste combo you like, then I'm sure you'll love it. I wanted to try their lobster items, but deferred as I'm sure my stomach wouldn't have permitted such at the time! It was pretty good overall, but not the best I've had. The Black Sheep eatery at the Anaheim Packing District is better in my opinion, for comparison sakes, especially for the price. Came to this center to eat somewhere else which happened to be closed. We decided to walk around and try something new. We walked to the counter and were immediately greeted. My first question was if they had gluten free bread for my husband, and they do!! This is a huge deal!! I ordered the avocado grilled cheese and my husband got the Philly grilled cheese on gluten free bread. We ordered carne asada fries to share. The sandwiches were so amazingly delicious. I couldn't tell you the last time I had a grilled cheese. The tomato and avocado were perfect complements to the cheesy goodness. My husband was surprised how good the gluten free bread was. It's sad people complain about parking and it's other near by restaurants which is pretty dumb to mention parking! Kind of a letdown. First of all, we showed up at 7:25 and their hours say that they are open until 8:00. The employees already were sweeping and had all of the chairs flipped upside down on the tables. They seemed reluctant to want to serve us. We ordered a couple of items. Mac and cheese was bland. My grilled cheese sandwich was heavily doused in barbecue sauce and it kind of lessened the flavor of the whole thing. The side of sweet potato fries was the smallest side of fries I've ever gotten anywhere. I noticed that at 7:40 p.m. the employees turned the lights off. They were itching to have an early night. Anyway, all the stuff mostly tasted fine, but it was just kind of off-putting... we felt like we were not wanted at this establishment. read more

I live by this plaza and I am trying out all the restaurants in this plaza because it'a just convenient. I was time to finally try this place out. I ordered the carne asada fries, tomato basil soup and the basic grilled cheese. I really enjoyed the carne asada fries. I mean it's not carne asada fries from SD (iykyk) but like not bad. It would help with the cravings. The tomato basil soup was okay...not a fan by itself. But when you dip the grilled cheese in it, it was definitely better! I probably wouldn't get the soup by itself it doesn't taste like tomato basil to me. The grilled cheese sandwich was bomb! I definitely would wanna try the other options. It's a small little spot with some seating inside but there's loads of seating outside. There is lots of parking but try to avoid the lunch break period because this plaza gets packed. read more

My coworker and I met up after work to grab a bite. There wasn't as much people so we were hoping the Lobster Grilled Cheese would be available. Sadly it wasn't and they ran out for the day. Food: +Chicken Pesto Grilled Cheese: I'm a big pesto fan so I expected for this to have a burst of pesto flavor. However, it was lacking flavor. I highly suggest to add extra pesto aioli on the side so you can dip before each bite. The chicken was juicy and I like how the cheese was very melty. Don't forget to check in so you can get a free side of pommes fries. I really wish the fries had a stronger truffle flavor to it since I barely tasted the truffle. However, the fries were so crispy!! I'll be sure to come back and give this place another try! I def want to try their mac n cheese option. read more

There aren't that many places around that specialize in grilled cheese, and Grater has some pretty nice offerings. We ordered takeout and inhaled the food. However, we ordered online and requested the Yelp check-in offer and it wasn't honored. I tried the Avocado Grilled Cheese and loved it. It has the basic 5 cheese (colby, swiss, monterey, provolone, and cheddar) along with grilled avocado, tomato, crispy bacon, arugula, and their pale ale beer chipotle aioli - so good! The sourdough had great crispiness even with the drive home. The crunch from the bacon added a nice textural component to the gooeyness of the cheese and avocado. And the arugula with a bit of crunch and bitterness to offset the other flavors - yum! Pickup was quick and easy. It's located in a plaza that can notoriously be difficult to park in during peak hours, so plan accordingly! read more

The line for ordering was out the door but the system paged us and said "your table is ready" so we waited in line outside the front door for 10 minutes and finally transitioned to the inside line which took another 10 minutes to order. I would say that the timing of when the system texts you needs some work. We ordered a Classic Breakfast with CRISPY bacon, home potatoes, multi-grain toast, a side of pork sausage and a cappuccino. The enclosed receipt does not accurately reflect what we ordered. The bacon was floppy and not fully cooked. The home potatoes were not done and soggy. The sausage was dry and tasted old. The cappuccino was perfect. So I would say that this Poached Kitchen location, compared to our prior experience of things done perfectly, failed the "stress test" - when tables and lines were full, it could not deliver it's normal well-prepared meals. They also failed to check back at the table which is a standard service item they have observed for many months. Of course new people still in training can account for alot of this kind of experience. We detected new people we had not seen before. We generally consider management accountable for ensuring that new employees are properly trained. We have not seen the food preparation break down before. This was a first but then we've never seen this many people lined up waiting for tables. Of course all kinds of things go on simultaneously that stress the system.... to go orders from online sources, people trying to box their leftovers, etc. Poached has a whole team of people who just worry about clearing tables, setting up tables with water, etc. This of course allows higher turnover and better utilization along with better customer service. Our takeaway today is: don't come to poached kitchen when it's packed....come earlier before 8am. and notice they serve lunch as well.

WoW! OMG I did NOT expect to love that sandwich SOO much! My sister is a chef (I'm just a big time foodie) and although I'm not generally a fan of grilled cheese, my sister loves them so we popped in - I didn't even think I was going to order from there but then I saw the menu!!! Philly grilled cheese is what we ordered to split and I wolfed down that sammich so fast I could have won a contest!!! Mmmmm!! Bravo Gratet!! Oh and we also got a grilled pB&j to split (saw that on the menu after we ordered the Philly) and I swear could eat 3 of those - NO JOKE!! These guys know their stuff! Please don't eat here. Or at least refuse to eat here until the owner takes down the vile and disgusting photo of chained elephants flanked by some model. The photo promotes, in general animal cruelty, and specifically elephant cruelty. Didn't we all stop allowing that years ago?
