Great place for lunch! I imagine a place like this is packed on most evenings and weekends. The staff are friendly. Only negative was the refilling the water glasses but everything else was on par! The burgers, with the brand on the bun is a great addition to the meal. The fries are exceptional and because I'm a dessert fiend, I had to try the "Sweet Baby Jesus". It was big, over the top, sugar-coma inducing and so good! A warning...it is way too much for one person. I shared with the others in our party and it did not disappoint! I love the fun atmosphere here. I have been a few times and the service was really good except for when we sat on the patio. They kept telling us they were short staffed. Took 20 minutes to get our drinks. Wouldn't sit outside again unless it was a full patio. We went when it was just us and another couple on the patio. Food is awesome. I love the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries. Try the bacon appetizer. Forgot the name. The bartender Sophia is so cool. We had a good time sitting at the bar. read more

Nice Happy Hour! We had the good selection of happy hour beer. Service was a little off, no napkins or water - until we asked. Had to ask for my second beer. Took a long time to get our check. Happy hour fries?...one basket was a nice haystack of fries, the other was like a bag of stems and seeds; mangled and sad. Weird a server or cook would send such obvious dissimilar - same - dishes to the same table? Will I be back? Yep. For the HH beer, with tempered expectations otherwise. This is now my favorite place to go to in Idaho now! The customer service was outstanding; It was probably one of the best experience I've had at a restaurant. We ordered 4 different appetizers which were all fantastic and their sangria in a bag which you can walk around with in the village! We got the jalapeño bacon which was my favorite and comes out on a cool hanging rack. The truffle fries were huge, Mac & Cheese was awesome, and the flash fried deviled eggs were amazing! Let's talk feeling welcomed and appreciated for coming in- our party was greeted by EVERY employee as we entered. Throughout our meal, although Thomas was our primary server, and he was so attentive and efficient and took great care of our party of 6, everyone pitched in to help as needed. It felt like family serving family. We chose the candied bacon and tempura green beans for starters. Talk about presentation! They came in a boot. The candied bacon with rosemary- light a fire and the mouth starts watering. I don't eat bacon but I had two slices. Perfect wait time until our burgers came. Sliders and all burgers were outstanding. Cooked medium unless asked otherwise and medium was just as I would have expected- juicy and delicious. Our table of 6 shared a side of tots and Parmesan truffle fries which were the best fries I've tasted. They fry in beef tallow and it makes the frying light and tasty. Refills of soda kept coming and the Captain Jack was a an unexpected surprise for the couple sharing it- challenge accepted! My only regret of this dinner is that we were too full to even share one of the milk shakes. They looked incredible. We ate inside but there is a large patio with misters. My kids drove up for the night from SLC area and were hungry. They were up for burgers, so i suggested Sids since i had such a good experience the first time i tried it out a month ago. Sids did not disappoint on any level. We got there about 40 minutes before closing and all the workers seemed cool with that. The place was pretty full for a week night. We sat outside on a beautiful night. Our servers were super friendly and helpful. Repeatedly told us not to worry about what time it was. We ordered the taco seasoned fries, deep fried beans and candied bacon for apps. All of the and the sauces were tasty and a must get. We all ordered different burgers and all of them were very good. Thick patty, seasoned and cooked correctly. Only suggestion i would make is for them to serve au jus with the french dip burger. I absolutely believe this restaurant has amazing potential. Excellent food, great service and the best burger in town. The problem though is a big one and it's about their prices. Just way way too high. To get the public at large to return frequently they have to do something about their prices. That's ownership/managerial. I hope they can modify their prices to better reflect an affordable burger and fries , etc., and a drink without blowing a wad of money. read more

another restaurant/bar I wanted to go to is now off my list. The place is located in a new shopping neighborhood, only a few businesses are open. When we drove in you could see the "floaters" getting in and out of the river. The establishment is nice inside, there is a huge patio outside which you have a view of the little pond/lagoon and river. We sat at the bar (we only sit at the bar if they have one), and immediately the bartender came over and asked what we'd like to drink. Since it was our first time, I told her we would need a minute which she immediately asked if it was our first time there. She explained the menu (not that complicated, but it was nice of her to tell us the local fav's). We ordered the "death by chocolate milkshake", watermelon cucumber fresh, an order of the candied bacon, the soft pretzel w/ cheese fondue and the Nashville hot chicken. The drinks were awesome, be prepared if ordering any of the milkshakes, they are dessert, a drink all in one. The candied bacon was a cool presentation, they bring the slices out on a hanging rack w/ fresh rosemary and then torch the bacon (to warm up) in front of you. It's comes with white bbq sauce to dip the bacon into, it's a nice extra. The pretzel was actually pretzel nuggets and not a whole pretzel which I was really looking forward to, the cheese fondue is basically a little container of cheese sauce. It was okay, but I doubt I would order it again. Now, the Nashville hot chicken sandwich (which was for my husband), was AWESOME, and I REALLY DO NOT LIKE Nashville hot chicken sandwiches or chicken sandwiches that are deep fried of any kind because NORMALLY once you put the slaw or any extras on, the chicken becomes soggy...BUT NOT THEIRS, my husband had eaten almost 1/2 of it when I asked him for a bite and it was STILL CRUNCHY, it was the BEST Nashville hot chicken sandwich I have ever tried (again I don't normally eat them, so there could be better out there). While waiting on him to finish his sandwich I ordered a "mimosa flight". I wish the bartender would of informed me which was which and what was in them, but from what I guessed, a normal mimosa, a strawberry a grapefruit and the last one, maybe Tangerine? Anyway, the prices were good, and we really liked the venue. Service was on point and plan on going back to try the "green bean " appetizer and a boozy shake. read more

Second time to Sids and the food is still very very good combined with some smiling and friendly service. Try their green bean appetizer flushed down with a nice Mexican Lager or glass of wine. Then on to burger land where El Jefe or the Steakhouse burgers await you! Top it off with some tasty parmesan or sweet potato fries and you will be sooo happy! This place is a great addition to the Barber Valley with a wonderful patio available for those not to hot outside dining opportunities. Only recommendation for Sids is to TURN DOWN the music volume so folks can chat while they dine. The volume was overwhelming. read more

Mostly fantastic, a few little things could be fixed. First, the fantastic: I ordered a Not-So-Wimpy burger, which was one of the best burgers I have ever eaten. They grind their meat onsite, which means I wasn't afraid to order it medium. It was so very, very good that I practically wolfed it down. The candied bacon was a particularly nice touch. It did not come with mustard, but old fashioned ketchup and mustard squirt bottles were thoughtfully provided at the table. The service was prompt, attentive, and cordial. It's obvious that they try very hard to offer a great dining experience. A few little things that could be fixed: Boise is having a really bad fly season, and the restaurant has open bay windows looking out on the patio area. Instead of enjoying a burger with fries, I enjoyed a burger with flies buzzing about my head and food. Boise Fry Company down the street has solved this problem with optional little battery powered tabletop propellers. They aren't fans, they just have enough reflection and movement in them to keep the flies away. When I ordered the Not-So-Wimpy burger, the server told me I should order the steakhouse burger instead, because it's more flavorful. The price difference was only a quarter, so he wasn't trying to upsell me. He genuinely thought I would prefer the steakhouse. Well, I wouldn't. I like old fashioned hamburgers with old fashioned trimmings. If I had asked him for recommendations, I would have welcomed his suggestion, but I didn't ask him for recommendations. I specifically and unambiguously asked him for a Not-So-Wimpy burger. I thought it was a tad presumptuous of him to question my taste when I did not solicit a recommendation. I would have preferred "Great choice!" even if the waitperson does not agree. The waitperson also mentioned that the burger did not come with a side, but the sides can be ordered separately. He also mentioned that they were intended for lots of folks to share and were very big. Well, I was dining alone. I wasn't sad or lonely about it at all (my wife is just out of town for a few days), but some folks who dine alone might not wish to be reminded of it. Also, I was raised to clean up my plate (my parents grew up in The Depression), so the thought of ordering a whole bucket of fries that I couldn't finish did not sit well with me. Even though it goes against the aesthetic of "everything huge" that Sid's promotes, I would recommend adding a more modest offering of fries for lone diners who don't want to waste food. read more

Stopped in here for lunch on our way across country and was not disappointed. The decor is uniquely interesting. They have a gas pump nozzle for a door pull on the main entrance, graffiti style art, indoor and outdoor seating and a drink menu on the back of a license plate. We split an order of Tempura Green Beans and the French Onion Dip Burger. Let me say, it was ALL phenomenal! The French Dip Burger was almost too beautiful to eat so i actually wore my readers while I ate it so I could see every bite. The burger was new to their menu and didn't come with any Au Jus but was so juicy it didn't need any!!!! That being said, the dip for the green beans was so good I didn't want to waste any so I dipped my burger in that. I really didn't think it could get any better but I'd order that sauce with a straw next time, or to dip any burger in. The green beans were served in a red running shoe but were so good they could have served them on a flip flop!!!! Service was impeccable. We will put this on our save list for sure! read more
