Glad I noticed it as we were driving off, as it's a great taphouse with a large number of beers on draft, in excess of 20 I believe. Service is very gracious, and you don't have to commit to official tasters, they're willing to pour you a little splash of several beers for you to figure out what it is you'd actually like to taste. That said, we opted to do an official flight of four IPAs, one of which was a hazy. All pretty interesting; ended up ordering a pint of one of them to share. Like a lot of tap rooms, they use the app DigitalPour to list their beers so you can check them out online if you like. We'll probably be back again. We didn't order any food while we were there, but what we smelled, and looked at appeared to be pretty good. If we hadn't had such a large breakfast earlier at our hotel, we probably would've taken a flyer on something off their food menu; maybe next time.

I honestly am counting down the days til I get to be back in the area for that shaken cappuccino again! The subtle flavor notes from their roasted beans really shines through and is balanced by the cream they use. The eggplant shakshuka was also great. Of note was the pork chop entree, with the pork sourced from a local farm. The pork was unbelievably tender, practically the pork equivalent of wagyu. The fat was rendered out perfectly and the chop had a smoky char, the tomato and onion sauce over the top cut through the fattiness and balanced the dish perfectly. The pork chop itself is worth traveling out of your way for, and the squid ink pasta and salmon smoked on a wood board are also highlights. The Cozy Taberna lives up to its reputation as one of the best restaurants in Salem.

The establishment is lovely; the decor is modern and clean with cute Wolfhound art featured throughout. We ordered the featured Jalapeño Popper Smash: two smash patties with habanero ghost pepper jack cheese, pomegranate bacon jam, cream cheese spread, serrano aioli, and pickled jalapeños on a toasted pretzel bun. While we waited, we sipped on a well cocktail. The burger was incredible--innovative and very well thought out. The service was prompt and engaging. I can really tell the staff has a passion for everything they do; it's very refreshing and definitely deserves a shot and repeated business!
