So, my story...I was in serious need of a haircut. It had gotten really long, so much that I was desperately trying to braid it and I didn't know what the heck I was doing. If I were a hippie, I'd be a failure, hair-wise. Not to mention that at work I need to look super professional. Having a haphazard mess of braids plus 40 bobby pins sticking out everywhere isn't a great look when you want people to take you seriously. I needed a style that would let me look professional, even when I'm wearing my hair down. I wanted to maintain long hair but get a haircut that was more than "hi, please hack off half a foot of hair, bye." Ian was great in that he immediately asked how I did my hair day-to-day, whether I pulled it back in a ponytail, etc. That's a change. I mean often stylists seem to assume you have the time (and skill) every morning to use a styling lotion and a mousse and a pomade and some heat apparatus and a robot or something like that. Ian actually wanted to get an overall picture of my reality. So I first got a deep conditioning treatment, yay. Then came the moment of truth...Did I want layers? You see I've had really bad times with hair layers. The first time was at the beginning of a job where I wanted to make a good impression. I knew it was going to suck when the lady said her name was Anthony (sorry to all women named Anthony btw, it was more than just the name). Anyhow I paid a LOT in a fancy West Coast city and I came out looking like Velma in Scooby-Doo. Dang. Second time was for a short haircut. It came out great, or what would be great if I were a 68-year-old woman who wears leopard print capris and really big dangly earrings. Um, no. I don't know though, Ian gave me a good vibe. The guy has lived in different places, seen different styles. Plus the salon was nicely decked out in tasteful semi-Scandinavian style. That was a good sign that the proprietor has a sense of style. The haircut was DA BOMB. It's classy, it's simple, it frames my currently pudgy face well. The man has skills. Of course the conditioning treatment has left my hair very soft but still with body. The products he used are not strongly scented. That's a good thing too. Ian also is very mellow and nice. When I came in he shook my hand and he gave me a hug on the way out. Plus, he laughed at my goofy stories instead of being like "whuuuuuuuuut?" So yeah. Mad skills (to boot he's been running a special so yeah), good products, sense of style, cool personality. What's not to like? I highly recommend Ian's salon! Oops-one more thing...It like he has some serious hair extension expertise (had really nice extensions on display). read more

I can't say enough good things about my experience at this salon! I've been growing my hair long for years, and the thought of cutting it was honestly terrifying. When he finished, I was blown away. My hair looked absolutely beautiful--fresh, flattering, and stylish, yet still felt like myself, just better. I left the salon not only loving my haircut, but also feeling lighter, happier, and uplifted--like I had embraced something new in the best way possible. iyad is incredibly talented, professional, and genuine. He doesn't just cut hair--he makes the whole experience meaningful. If you're nervous about making a big change, or if you simply want someone who will treat your hair with the highest level of skill and care, I can't recommend him enough. I'd like to give a shout out to Gravity Salon and Spa I love the high quality color, cut, hairstyle and highlights done by Iyad ( owner ) which is very friendly, attentive and professional, it made me feel so comfortable and relax. The Spa is absolutely gorgeous, beautifully decorated, clean and organized. Did I mention all hair extensions, different lengths and shades? I was fascinated looking at this displays!!! Got an appointment the same day. Eyad is awesome and did a great job on my hair. He took the time and patience to foil/highlight my short spikey hair. When he was done with the highlights and cut, my hair looked awesome. I've been to many different salons and always seemed to have to go back to have something fixed because when getting home and looking and then styling my way something was just not right. I'm not one to do reviews, but Ian is a life saver. I recently got a really bad haircut. It was so bad I didn't wear my hair down at all for over a month.
