Our meetup point for the night trolley tour

This is a review the night trolley tour, with the amazing Andrew. The lighting of Nashville is truly beautiful at night, lights illuminating the city with an artistic grace. Andrew is an amazing and personable guide who will take you to some great places to take photos by night: along the river with the lights of downtown as a backdrop, the Parthenon, Capitol Mall, etc. I was happy to be shown around the city by air conditioned trolley, after the extreme heat of the day had passed. Andrew makes the tour super entertaining with his personality, historic explanations, and interesting facts and folklore. If you like taking photos and enjoy hearing the history of a city in the kind hands of a true local, go with Andrew on this super evening trolley ride.

Great way to see all the history of Nashville and hop on or off whenever you want to explore. No pressure on your own time to enjoy at your own pace Then hop back on until next stop.

It's a tad expensive at $34 per person but they had a buy one day get second day free so we decided to try it. I like the hop on hop off feature. There are 16 stops and gives you a great overview of the city. Our tour guide was very informative. We will use our 2nd day to visit some of the places we saw of interest in today's 90 min. loop . Enjoyed the tour very much

The only place we got off was Antique Archaeology (American Pickers fans!) while stopped there we went to the Bang Candy Store and Garage Coffee Shop!

The Grand Ole Opry is the iconic venue that you really have to see if you're in Nashville. A…read moreperhaps lesser example is First Avenue/7th Street Annex in Minneapolis. It also doesn't hurt to have seen the Ken Burns Country Music production to add a bit of history and context to this place and Ryman. Auditorium. It's a decent Taxi/Uber ride out here (and back), with drop off and finding one to go back pretty easy. There are snacks and a gift shop here, but if you want to make it a dinner and a show, there are places nearby. Gayle and I, along with Erin and Jim attended the April 30 performance of Opry Country Classics. The Larry Gatlin (and Brothers) were the MCs, with the Opry band handling the backup music, and Charlie Mattos doing the folksy "Play by Play", all live on WSM (We Shield Millions) Radio. Performers were Janie Fricke, Hanna Dasher, Moe Bandy, and Daily and Vincent as the featured artist. It was a great show! We had a nice 4 seat pew near the front, the sight lines (direct and via screens) were clear, and the sound quality/mix was excellent. Daily and Vincent (with the guest banjo player) were fantastic and I've already preordered their next album. The only minor irritation was Hanna Dasher shamelessly promoting her cook book (Stand by Your Pan), but even that added to the high quality entertainment value of this show. I'd love to experience this again.

It's no Ryman, but I understand the dollar signs that built the new(er) Opry building. Lots of…read morephoto ops around the entrance. Can accommodate lots of country music fans (and tourists); and at least the truly grand old Ryman continues to host many wonderful shows. Warning for those staying at the Gaylord and walking over to the Opry for a show. You'll already have walked A LOT inside the Gaylord, and it's a good ways from there on the path to the Opry. We had one of the rooms closest to the Opry side Gaylord exit and it was still a solid mile walk each way. If that's a bit far for you, and you're thinking you'll just take a break mid walk, there is no resting point, not a single bench, between the hotel and opry. We'll certainly see how convenient ride share is for our next Opry concert. The benches (not seats) at least are cushioned, so they emulate the church pews of the Ryman, with a touch more comfort. Signs show the venue getting a little worn. For example, there was no running water in any of the sinks in the men's room. We'll be back. How can you not.

Ohhhh what a time we had! The amazing Paige made sure we enjoyed every bite and taught us a lot…read moreabout the food of Nashville, as well as the backstories on how they came to be! She even provided the back stories of the historical churches & buildings we passed on our way to each location. She was sweet, hilarious, spunky and after telling her ALL 12 of our names just once - she remembered them all, the entire 3 hours we were together! We enjoyed ourselves so much and I'm so grateful we signed up - I honestly don't think we would have received the same experience of Nashville if we had just gone to these places on our own. We stopped off at 5 different eateries, all were pre-picked for us so we had no idea where we would be going. Unfortunately, not all of them struck me as worthy of a second visit but it was new to us (except for Prince's, we had stumbled upon them the day before, whoops) and I will say I'm not the biggest sweets fan but the Goo Goo cluster was the perfect way to end the tour! Thank you Paige & Walk Eat Nashville!
