I hadn't been to a Grease Monkey in years, but I appreciated how quickly they were able to service my vehicle and how nice they were. It was also nice that they just changed my oil as requested and didn't use my visit as an opportunity to upsell me on everything under the sun my car may or may not have needed (which is what I remember from past visits). I'm assuming if they knew what they were doing they wouldn't have left the two most worn tires, on the front on a fwd vehicle, where they had been if they actually rotated them. Went to the Grease Monkey near Colfax & Garrison in Lakewood (Colorado). We had an oil change, new front & rear wiper blades & cabin air filter replaced & of course they did an inspection of brake fluid, differential fluid etc. Our technician was Jeff & he was an excellent communicator and very efficient - we even had to have a specific filter that was not at their store, so they had to order one & even that was delivered super quickly. We were able to meet the store owner & he was very nice. All in all, this was a great Grease Monkey store - in fact the best one we have ever been to. I highly recommend this location. read more

I've came to this location multiple times over the last year, mainly for oil changes. I've came on a few occasions to this specific one. I think their service is great, and I've never had an issue with my car (I always double check it after). The only reason why I won't give them 5 stars is because of the prices. If I was to read all of the reviews as posted I definitely would not have or ever have taken my boat engines and trailer into this Grease Monkey for repairs. They claimed they could repair the issues I was having and initially quoted me $3,400 to have everything fixed and repaired. The final invoice was $7,300 with most of the issues I originally had never addressed. After I picked up the boat and trailer I noticed the following items: 1) 8 HP outboard has over $1500 charged to it and did not run 2) Electric Downriggers were supposed to be repaired but did not operate. Charged $500 for nothing 3) Trailer was repaired and should be basically a new trailer. $5,000 charged on the trailer. I had 2 bearing blowouts in my travels that I had to replace on the road in 100+ degree weather with my family onboard. Tried several attempts with the owner to address these issues but was shown no interest by him to alleviate the pain that I had to go through with all of this. DO NOT take any marine vehicle, engine, trailer or anything for that matter to this establishment. Dishonest. No Communication. No respect for the customer. Unreliable. I couldn't select a lower rating than given. read more

I was told I needed new brakes and that my vehicle was "Not safe to drive in the mountains without getting new brakes." The verbal estimate I received for repair was $1,200. I got two additional opinions and it turns out that my brakes are in excellent shape. My brakes are in EXCELLENT SHAPE. The other mechanics took off my tires and showed me my brake pads and talked through exactly how great of shape they're in: which is EXCELLENT SHAPE. I'm so pissed off that Paul saw me as someone to take advantage of because I'm a young female. Total crap. I'll be sharing my experience online but focusing on the excellent mechanics who actually took care of me instead of trying to weasel me out of money. read more

As a young female, it's always nerve racking going into a new mechanic shop. There is always a fear of being over charged and over serviced for unnecessary items. That is not the case with this shop. The owner(Paul) was very accommodating and explained everything to me in a way that was easy to understand and purposeful. I've never had such a great, cost effective, and quick experience! DO NOT GO HERE! I had just bought a new to me car and took it into this grease monkey for them to check and see if their was any issues. They tried to say something needed done with my transmission and I passed on that as it was $200 and I wanted a second opinion. I asked for an oil change which they did. However they didn't put any oil back in my car and now I can't even drive my car I bought a week ago because the engine is broke. I contacted their corporate office and am hoping they will fix my car that they broke. To top it off they charged me for oil they didn't even put in my car and were trying to say I needed new brakes when the brakes are new on my car. read more

I'm giving this a 2 star because I'm going to another Grease Monkey the one I usually go to. I got charged a extra quart. I never had that before so now I'm wondering if I was over charged. On the reviews I was reading while waiting mention about over charging basically So the coupon I had seamed like really worthless. I told Paul (owner) about my F350 turbo diesel problem thinking it needed expensive repairs and wouldn't start up in Louisville and he told me I just needed an air filter. I never replace the air filter because it's over $100. Sure enough that's all it needed. Saved me big. read more

Attention all Senior Citizens! This is the best place in town to go get an oil change if you want to get ripped off! My friend was quoted one price on a specific oil change service he wanted, when it was all over he was charged an additional $25 WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION FIRST, and or the option to decline services. Then after requesting to speak to an asst. Mgr. to seek an explanation, we we're just subject to double talking, & told "I would have given you a discount, but you already paid for it, so I can't now." What kind of Mickey mouse operation are you running here Grease Monkey, that you take advantage of seniors on a fixed income.. not to mention my friend nearly fell on the thick ice exiting his vehicle; which none of the employees seemed to be a bit concerned about it, or failed to do anything about it when we mentioned the "Safety hazord" that it could cause. Just curious though; as we drove away and observed all 3 employees staring at the frozen ice, you think they figured out a way to just break it up, clean it up & hopfully prevent someone else from slipping, or perhaps the next patron won't be so lucky! read more

Pulled up in front of a line of cars waiting on accident, because they hadn't even been acknowledged by the staff (who weren't working on any vehicles... just chillin!). My simple oil change took well over half an hour while I waited in their dirty waiting room filled with half empty water bottles and magazines literally everywhere. They didn't review the work that was done, they didn't recommend anything that may need maintenanced on my car, they wouldn't even give me the paper that outlined the work (how many qts of oil, labor costs, etc.) until AFTER I paid! talk about sketchy. Not to mention how clearly unhygienic and unprofessional everyone looked. One guy not even in a uniform, just sagged black jeans, a flatbill, and an extremely too large black t-shirt. My steering wheel definitely needed a disinfectant wipe after the grime all over that place. read more

This place is a joke. First, it's an all our dump. That should have been my first warning. Well I let them do the work. An oil change and tire rotation. Came back to pick it up and the total was $102. Yes I asked for blended oil. Of which they upcharged me $20. Havoline has a $5 up charge. They charged $30 for the rotation. Havoline is $20. So I am pissed. Then we get into the car to see that they didn't wash the windows or vacuum as the full service oil change states. Now I want confirmation that the blended oil was even used. How would I ever know. Well, I am going to send the oil in for testing. This place is a dump. Do not go here. I have filed a complaint with Grease Monkey and posted on Google reviews. I will never go to another grease monkey again. And I will tell everyone else not to go there. It's unfortunate because my other two visits to different locations were wonderful. It just takes one bad experience, folks. There are too many other options for your services to have employees who think it's warranted to say they will have to "rip out my whole dash" to fix a problem I can only assume you caused to begin with. I went in for a standard oil change a few days ago. No warning lights were lit on the dash (it's a 5 year old Subaru, I have never seen a warning light lit on the dash), and it was timely based on their sticker from my previous visit. When they had finished the oil light was on, strange, but they assured me that it would turn off in a few minutes. It did, but a new red light came on my dash immediately following that, to alert me that there was a problem with my airbags. So today I went in to ask if maybe they bumped something & the light was a simple fix. A man (shockingly, he didn't give me his name) stormed up to my car, looked at my dash & said "it's an airbag failure warning." Ok. I know that. Why is it on? That's when he gave the eloquent descriptions of "ripping" parts out of my car. Thanks, but no thanks. You've done quite enough damage. read more

I had visited this location a few times prior with no problems. My most recent visit resulted in me being charged for a new air filter, which I had declined twice. I questioned the tech who stated that it was already installed and they could not accept a return. Upon entering my car I found that the driver's seat leather was stained from the tech's clothes. I have been unable to remove the discoloration. After being dishonestly overcharged and incurring permanent damage to my vehicle's interior I've decided to take my business elsewhere. read more

My car's check engine light came on as I was driving by this Grease Monkey location and I decided to stop in and have them check it out. They were able to immediately pull my car into one of the bays and hook it up to the monitor. The manager (owner?) checked it out right away. All three of the people working were super friendly and helpful. They offered me coffee and water while I waited. (Even though it was all very quick and I wasn't waiting for long). And they covered my seat and floor w plastic and paper to keep it clean while they checked it out. A great experience. read more

Service was decent and friendly. However, I was told my car was having start-up issues because I needed a new battery and a new fuel filter. WRONG. I paid to have these parts replaced only for the symptoms to get WORSE. I ended up being stranded the next day after having my car worked on and missing an incredibly important client meeting. I took it to another mechanic recently and was told it was the spark plugs and fuel pump that are having issues - the two parts I insisted on having fixed when visiting the original mechanics at Grease Monkey. I'm sure they are great at regular maintenance checks and oil changes, but I flushed $600 I didn't need to spend. Lesson learned. read more

Watch out! Very Shady. I took my car in for an oil change. There was one car ahead of me and they said it would be an hour. It took them an hour and a half, but that was not the issue. I asked for the synthetic blend which they have posted as $51.00. When I was being checked out they said my total was $75.00. I asked why it was so expensive pointing to their posted prices and was told, "we do not have to honor the board." When I looked at the receipt I was being charged for the full Synthetic oil. I challenged this again and the cashier told me, "No you got the blend, but you can talk to the owner because he just charges what he wants to." The "owner was not there." I told him this was not okay and he told me that I was "lucky" that he was honoring my $7.00 coupon (printed off of their website). I ended up paying the full price, because I am not in to throwing fits, but thought I would warn future patrons. I am very sad, I have always thought that Grease Monkey was a good company and I feel very ripped off. read more

When visiting, they didn't vacuum but the receipt claimed they did. When I mentioned it, they were in a hurry and drove my car into the concrete wall, scratching my bumper. The most upsetting part was being yelled at by both the store manager and the owner. No one took responsibility. read more

I would never take my car back here. To begin, I requested they change my windshield wipers and they charged me for it then didn't perform the service. I luckily caught the error before driving away. Next, they stripped the bolts to my oil pan and I had to purchase a new one. When I called to ask about refunds, they told me they have to be the first ones to view the damage in order to pay for it. How is this logical? They said they would call me back and the manager and the owner did not follow up. Bad management, poor customer service. Go elsewhere! read more
