I was then able to retrieve my vehicle that same day, while Mancinelli's found arrangements to make the necessary repair. I've gone here twice for an oil change - my first experience wasn't great, but I wanted to give them another chance, being a small local business. I don't think I'll be going back. Both times they tried to charge - without asking - an extra $50+ for a general inspection (something other places do gratis), on top of the $85 they charge for an oil change; seems quite absurd even for Denver. The first time I didn't realize and got hit with the fee, plus they told me I needed ~$800 worth of repairs, some of which I was 100% sure I did not need as I had recently had my car serviced elsewhere. My second major complaint is how long an oil change took. I booked my appointment in advance both times - assuming this meant service would be relatively quick - but they told me it would take OVER FOUR HOURS. I have limited car knowledge and could do it faster than that. Both times I expressed how ridiculous that time frame was - especially because they have no waiting area - they then said they could trim it down to 2.5 hours. In the end it took ~1.5 hours, which was acceptable, but this only occurred because I was clearly upset. I know car places are notorious for poor service, but the lack of price transparency and fact I booked an appointment ahead of time and was told I still needed to waste half a day waiting around is a horrible way to run a business. read more

Well, that was expensive. But you know what else it was? Easy, respectful, and a job well done. I swung in on an afternoon after my car had been making what can only be described as a scraping sound for a little under a week. They offered to run an inspection and could get it done that that evening or early the next morning. Perfect. I received a text the next morning with a full report and called Mike to discus my options. I had already asked for an oil change in addition to the inspection so he ran through what was necessary and what could wait. I knew it was my rear brakes so that wasn't a surprise. With the inspection, brakes, oil change, and replacing my air filter I was looking at nearly $800 which hurts no matter how you slice it but I said go for it. They were able to order the parts and get the repair done before end of day and that's exactly what I needed. I would totally come back here and recommend this place but I did feel I needed to ask very specific questions about pricing and the breakdown of labor. I initially thought the inspection would be free until I asked before I left and it is a bummer that they don't put it towards the cost of repair. read more

BEWARE OF MANCINELLI'S! I know nothing about auto repairs, so I'm always at the mercy of the shop and always hoping for a transparent and trustworthy experience. Some customers apparently get this at Mancinelli's. I definitely DID NOT. My a/c was not working well. I figured I needed a refrigerant recharge. Mancinelli's provided an estimate of $225. Sounded ok so I took it in. Next thing I know their shop manager tells me that I need a new a/c compressor, new condenser o-rings, and a system flush, in addition to the refrigerant. Price tag for this: $1,335. No way I could afford that, so I told them no thanks. And here's the icing on the cake. They then informed me I owed them $170 for a diagnostic test they allegedly ran. I have a problem with this. First, nobody ever mentioned the $170 testing charge until they presented me the bill. Second, nobody ever mentioned that the $225 estimate could balloon exponentially if they found leaks in the system, which by their own admission are found in about 35 percent of their a/c repairs. I would never have even taken the car in if I'd known about the prospect of a bill way, way higher than the $225 estimate, or alternatively an undisclosed $170 charge for testing if I didn't play their repair game. I went back to the shop to discuss this with owner Steve Mancinelli. I told him I felt blindsided by the lack of disclosure about the potential scope of the repairs and $170 testing charge. I requested a refund of the $170 charge. He refused. I might even have been satisfied with 50% off, half for my ignorance and gullibility, and half for their failure to disclose. Nope, no refund. PS: I guess Mancinelli's tries to sell customers on additional services. I was amused to see that for my Ford Escape with 30k miles, they recommended an additional $2,417 in repairs and replacements, which would have brought my total bill to $4,071. Wow! ! read more

I decided to delay a non-safety issue repair based on the information they provided to save expense for me by waiting and fixing two things at once in about two months. Super friendly, attentive, and got my Jeep in WAY earlier than I thought - dropped it off because I was going out of town but they fixed it when they had time and I got it back before I left! They were so friendly and they took pictures of EVERYTHING for the inspection and the repair which I thought was amazing - I could actually see what was wrong instead of them just telling me. I've been to Mancinelli's three times now for repairs/diagnosis of various problems with my Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, which was driven hard and fast during the 60k miles and 6 years I owned it. As a customer, I appreciate education and explanations of the diagnostic results, fair pricing, and justification for all charges. Mancinelli's did a superb job with all of those things. Steve Mancinelli and Alex are my primary contacts, and they have both delivered superior customer service, explanations, and "bottom-line" advice. Both take ample time to help customers understand exactly what is going on with their vehicles. As a result of my SRT's 6.4L Hemi cam shaft warping because of a very high speed run, I decided to trade it in based on the advice of Steve (high repair estimate and complicated repair for a nice SRT, but one that was inevitably going to encounter more expensive repairs in the future). I now own a new blacked out Jeep Grand Cherokee Upland off road prototype and I was able to get nearly $25k for my SRT that was spiraling downward quickly. The prototype GC Night Eagle is incredible, and could be the best vehicle purchase and strategic timing I have ever had, thanks to accurate and candid advice from Steve. I intend to take all of my vehicles to Mancinelli's, as it is obvious that they are not only top notch experts, they also care immensely about their customers. I came in knowing my alternator was needing replacement but they would not do the replacement until they performed a 180 dollar diagnostic "test" that told me my alternator was needing replacement. I heavily regret giving these people my business and will stay clear of them in the future. If you want a working car and money in your wallet, stay far away from this racket. read more

I called Mancinelli's after being referred to them by my auto body shop. I would suggest caution to any women going here.... I called at 1:30pm and asked about getting some repairs (which I already knew some of what I needed done) the following week. I was asked to come to the shop before 2:00pm! I explained I was at work and asked to come for another time, or the next day and was told as close to 2 that day was all they could do. I was never told there would be a fee for the inspection/estimate of work to be done, or the amount of time it would take. I got there and was told of the $70 and said that was fine. They did offer to drive me back to work, which was great, but instead I stayed. At the end of it all I was then charged $150.. not the $70 I was told before. I paid, assuming hour labor was the additional money involved. I got my estimate back the next day... nearly $5,000 worth of repairs!!! AND The year and style of car were not even close to mine, sloppy and careless. I knew the estimate was way too high! I took my car to another mechanic that a friend recommended. I brought the estimate from Mancinelli's with me but did not mention it to the other shop. I was given an estimate that was HALF of what Mancinelli gave me. I asked the other shop to explain their estimate and they broke down labor and parts costs- I then showed them my estimate from Mancinelli and how I felt I was taken advantage of due to being a women. The other Mechanic stated he was positive I was Dramatically over estimated. Mancinelli's estimate did mention parts needed to be ordered but didn't list cost for them or amount per hour for labor, which I found unsettling. I am giving 3 stars because when I did call I talked to Mike and he was great. He apologized for having my car's information incorrect and stated that I was most defiantly double charged for the estimate. He agreed to a complete $150 refund with no hesitation. When I went in for the refund he was pleasant and friendly and apologetic. I strongly believe in attention to detail and fixing mistakes so I gave 3 stars for that. HOWEVER, I would caution any women form going there. I just feel like I was seen as young (I look about 17, even though I'm near 30) and naive. I wouldn't tell friends about this shop and wouldn't recommend them. read more

I wanted to support a local shop for my car repairs and they were close to me, so I gave them a shot. First of all, expect to pay premium prices. $170 for a diagnostic, okay. $80 for an oil change, no thanks. Work got done well and in a timely manner, despite having to ship a part in from out of state. I really appreciate being able to communicate via text as well. I got good explanations and photos from the diagnostic. I used their free shuttle service which is a plus. Wasn't a fan of the flavored cigarette smell in the van though. I expected some kind of paperwork delay when dealing with a car warranty company, but incompetence and/or disorganization within the shop contributed to having to wait a long time for my car. I probably wouldn't take my car back there. read more

Don't get ripped off! I made an appointment for an oil change and to get an estimate on my rear brakes, if they needed to be done. I was charged $75 for an oil change on a 2012 Toyota and $60 for an inspection and estimate. They quoted me $150 more than Big O Tires to have my rear brake pads and rotors replaced. They also threw in a couple things that absolutely do not need to be done and were way overpriced, as well. I chose this shop because of the reviews and location. I will deal with driving clear across town to go back to a chain (Big O Tires) because this place is a scam. read more

Mancinelli's Auto Repair is, without question, the best repair shop I've thus far encountered. Their customer service absolutely transcended my expectations. They remind you of your appointment the day before, and update you regarding your car's progress consistently throughout the day. Surely I am not alone among the masses who have spent hours (or days) wondering "I wonder what's happening with my car?". At Mancinelli's, you are happily relieved of this burden. The shop also offers a courtesy shuttle to drive you anywhere within a 5-mile radius (which is perfect, as the shop is centrally located within Denver). I took advantage of this offer and the owner, Steve Mancinelli, drove me back to my apartment after I dropped off my car and then picked me up again when my car was ready. The shuttle was not only convenient, but a pleasure to be in. Steve is an incredibly kind man and a great conversationalist; the trips to and from the shop were delightful. My car runs as well as it ever has after its visit to Mancinelli's and the report they provide afterwards is wonderfully helpful. Mike, who was working the front desk and also provided me with updates throughout the day, walked me through everything on the report and explained, in detail, the relevance of all. To my surprise, they also included a picture of the component that needed replacement (a transmission mount) so I was able to see exactly what had gone awry. Steve has built a business upon a foundation of customer service, accountability, transparency, and quality work. Mancinelli's Auto Repair deserves recognition, sincerely, for the way they comport themselves. They ought to be an example for all institutions, regardless of field or market, of how to conduct business. I had a really bad experience down the street at Downing Street Garage, so I took a friends recommendation and went to Mancinelli's instead. They were great! They explained what they found in their inspection in a way that was thorough but didn't even hint at an up-sell. The customer service was really impressive - they called when they were said they would and the person on the phone obviously had very good people skills - very helpful and professional. I also like that your receipt includes a well-written summary of what the mechanic found in the inspection and the work that was done. The place has been in business for 50 years now. I think that's pretty cool and can see why. I really hate throwing money at my car, but it's a lot easier when the people you're throwing it at seem rather competent and are very friendly to boot. Mancnelli's auto repair is by far one of the finest shops in Denver. It's not a big chain auto shop, it's. A small business with personal employees. I can say with all sincerity, there is no nicer mechanic around than Steve the owner. And when your boss is honest, nice, helpful and fair then your employees will be too. Once I was having one of those days where the world seem to be crashing down on me, you know what I mean. And then I start my car and boom, hiss and I see steam coming from under my hood. This day I felt as if I could not take one more bad thing. So I took my car to Mancinelli's and Steve could see the anguish on my face. He personally popped my hood and told me as long as I can go without air conditioning my car is fine. No big expensive repair and no charge for this diagnostic. He was a life saver. He didn't try to sell me repairs I didn't need. If you get your car repaired at Mancinelli's expect quality service, expect a clean shop, expect timely service and most of all expext the job done right. Now, you may pay a little more at Mancinelli's but you get what you pay for. You will get a thorough check of your vehicle, you'll get a complete explanation of any probelms, you'll get an honest estimate and you'll get a staff who is genuinely willing to help you. I left my car for an oil change, and upon returning was given a quote for an additional $2200 of work. When I expressed concern over paying that amount of money, someone working at the desk passed me a business card for a "personal loan specialist." No mechanic came to talk to me, no one told me what parts of this $2200 were critical - instead it was suggested I take out a loan. One of the items was to change an air filter. You would think a decent establishment would offer "you can do this yourself" at the very least, after citing financial woes. I am resisting writing this in all caps as I am getting irate just reliving it. Suggesting a personal loan - without first offering ANY other suggestion - is financially irresponsible, to say the least. It is predatory. It can send people into debt that drowns them. There was absolutely no effort to help me understand or reduce the cost of repairs. I will never be returning. read more

These guys are awesome. The only reason why I took my car there is because it's in a very convenient location by my house, but it turns out I made a great choice! The entire staff is amazingly friendly, and they helped me to find the best deal they could. Although Discount Tires could offer a better price on my new tires, that's only because they're a huge wholesale retailer - and it didn't stop Mancinelli's for calling a bunch of places to give me more options. The hours they are open aren't convenient with my work schedule, but they made it so that there was no problem at all!
