We went in today, Saturday September 5th, for lunch. There were only a few tables taken, but unfortunately the service was horrible. Our waitress was extremely nice, but the service overall was some of the worst. It took 40 minutes to get our food out. 30 minutes in I noticed that other tables had bread. I asked our waitress about it and she apologized and said she forgot. Some of the fries were cold when the food arrived. My wife had to ask for a new order. They came back soaked in oil. We were told that management was stingy about sides, so now they bring out one order of beans and coleslaw and serve our own side amount. There's not enough for 6. I took my daughter here on her birthday. I ordered the chicken fried steak. My son a hamburger and my daughter tacos. I've had this meal once before and it was really good. This time the serving was alot smaller and the breading was very salty. My daughter also said her serving on the sirloin tacos was skimpy too. Also her margarita was very watered down. I guess it's hit or miss for this place so sad. When you enter the restaurant there is never anyone at the hostess station. You stand and wait a good 15 min until the young lady shows up. We visited on a Thursday not too busy but they did have a few large parties, still didn't interfere with us being seated quite quickly. However, you need not to blow your money on a good quality steak since they have a great Monday thru Friday special that's all day. This includes a 6oz sirloin steak option with a choice of one side. These sides only include their fries, corn, or mashed potatoes though and no coleslaw. For $9.99, i am happy as can be still! I didn't mind paying extra for their mac and cheese because I absolutely had to try it! Everything was superb! Love it when they ask to cut into your steak to make sure it was cooked as requested. Im a medium kind of girl and was very happy to see just the right amount of pink. Mashed potatoes and mac and cheese are also on point. I always appreciate a mac n cheese with real melty cheeses and not just the questionable watery type. This place is always very nicely decorated. Very classy with a perfect amount of rustic charm to fit the cattle raised steakhouse idea. The waiters also wear a leather apron that adds to the charm. Dysfunctional restaurant. Went in with party of 6 on a Friday 7:30 pm. Restaurant was 50% occupied. Was told up from that it would be a 40 minute way unless we wanted to sit in the patio (it was 45 degrees outside). I asked them to give me a minute so I could go scope the available spaces myself. After they saw me do that, they radioed someone and I could see a table being prepared then. The girl up front still proceeded to ask if my party wanted to wait outside or inside (illogical right?) We were sat within 2 minutes. Our server took our drink order and brought back 3 bottles of lukewarm water (no ice). She took our order.....then we waited 40 minutes for the food, despite having to inquire twice about our order. I simply ordered a 2 chicken breast plate, Cajun style and baked potato. When my order finally did arrive, it was plain grilled chicken. I immediately asked the server if this was Cajun style and she took right back as she left all the other plates on her serving cart as my other guests just wondered where she went. She returned in 2 minutes and served the rest of the plates from her cart to our table. Shen came right back this time with buffalo chicken on my plate. By this time I just let it go because I was already hungry. She also brought out 2 small bowels of beans and coleslaw which is standard for their lunch/dinner plates. It was enough for just 2 meager servings for a table of 6. She never brought individual serving bowls for the beans and coleslaw. She never checked for refills of tea or water. She also got another order wrong on a chicken sandwich but had a manager come to our table to apologize for that and offer a free desert. (I would have preferred either a discount or no charge for the wrong orders.) When the bill finally came, I now understood why there are so many issues at this restaurant. They shield their abysmal service with an automatic 18% gratuity as if they had done a great job, do no one really cares about doing a decent job. We visited the Great American Steakhouse restaurant on Gateway North (Northeast) around 4:30 pm on Friday. We waited for about 20 minutes to be sat. Not bad for a Friday evening after the restaurant opened approximately two months ago, and every time we passed, it seemed very busy. The restaurant has a nice, trendy ambiance. All the decor is beautiful; the music is modern yet chic. The restaurant is bigger than it looks from the outside. We experienced attentive customer service, and the food was great! I loved the baked cauliflower (mega delish); all the cocktails were so tasty and fresh; the main dishes did not disappoint; the steak was perfectly cooked and delicious. We had a great time. Kudos to Saul for being such an attentive waiter, and I look forward to returning. I did encounter one disappointment: on the bottom of the bill, Great American Steakhouse has a statement specifying if you pay with a credit card, there will be a $4.61 extra charge. This is dumb; more than 90% of people nowadays pay with a card, and this is just another way to give additional charges when one is not looking, almost as taking advantage of their customers because this restaurant is undoubtedly making up the money charged by the banks for this specific transactions. read more

Been here a few times now and it's the same very time, the food is decent, even on the better side, but the service is absolutely terrible. Even sitting at the bar results in crappy service with the bartender constantly disappearing. When we arrived this time, all the servers were congregated in the back of the restaurant chit chatting. Every single time I've come, after the food arrives it's like the servers forget about you and leave you with the check for 15-30 minutes. It takes asking for a water refill. At any given time maybe two servers are physically present in the dining room, once again, chit chatting in the back. It blows my mind that this place is still as busy as it is with the service being this bad. This will sadly be my last time here, sadly only because this restaurant has a ton of potential. read more

this place seems to be a hit or miss. i was expecting a somewhat elevated dining experience seeing the prices and the vibes of the restaurant. i came during dinner time though so we opted to sit at the bar. i wasn't expecting the best service but they forgot to bring us our steak knives till we asked them about 5 times and were just super slow at responding. my boyfriend had come here in the past and told me that his rib eye was cooked super dry. we were hoping that it wouldn't be the case this time but... yeah it came out super dry again. we had ordered it medium but it came out basically well done. the meat was so tough and hard it felt like i was just chewing on leather. i don't know if this is the case for all meats though bc i ordered the filet mignon which came out cooked perfectly. the sides were also all pretty decent but the mac n cheese with brisket is definitely not worth ordering. you have to pay extra for the brisket and it came out with basically one piece of brisket on top. the loaded mashed potatoes also looked like something u would get from a high school cafeteria. the sausages weren't too bad but honestly there was nothing special about it. when the bill came out, it ended up being around $96 which we thought was ridiculous. my boyfriend had barely eaten his ribeye which was around a $40 steak. thankfully, the manager was nice enough to see that the ribeye was indeed extremely dry and gave us a discount on our bill. all in all, we didn't have the greatest experience and we probably won't be coming back here again. i would go to texas roadhouse if you're craving some steak. read more

The server brought my sister, her daughter and my son Steak Knives. I was given a Butter Knife. Nothing to Cut my meat with. Had to tear the meat with my hands and the butter knife. Had to continuously request refills on our drinks. Halfway through the meal my son asked where was our Cole Slaw. The Server said they were Out but then brought us a bowl.
