Fantastic experience dealing with RPM- extremely communicative throughout the process, pricing was superb and fair. RPM installed a large system in New Fairfield for my family (~Oct 2020)- tank, leach field, piping, etc. RPM also did the perc test for us, including filing paperwork with the town and scheduling. This was an entirely new system as opposed to a repair, which complicated matters. Don't even bother looking for anyone else, we spent too much time calling around getting quotes and leaving voicemails with other companies. Ralph called me back within an hour or two, which we sincerely appreciated. Always arrived on schedule and despite the massive excavation project that this was, the property ended up in fantastic shape. He managed to avoid cutting down a beautiful tree in our yard that other installers seemed eager to remove. Professional, courteous, and a pleasure to do business with, I wouldn't hesitate doing another septic or excavation project with RPM. This man is an artist with his excavator, he picked out a whole pile of large rocks my father and I are looking forward to using for landscaping around the property. Based on the excellent work that RPM Septic has done for us, I wholeheartedly recommend RPM Septic for any septic repair and septic installation work that you may need. In March, 2020, Ralph very quickly repaired our very old septic field distribution system which was extensively damaged by a large tree that had fallen on the fields. When we decided to install a completely new septic system, in July, 2020, Ralph was able to design & install that new system so that it addressed every one of the difficult challenges which we faced including: the accessibility of the area for the new system, the location of the existing septic tank & some rock walls and also the soil condition of the area for the new septic system. Throughout the installation Ralph provided us with daily status updates, was always extremely responsive to our text message questions and was also very flexible relative to doing some additional work we added to the project. The installation was completed as scheduled & after completion of the project Ralph subsequently proactively called us to ensure we were very satisfied with how everything had worked out for us. I like to call him Ralph "Magician" Merlo.  He is a masterful septic installer. I still can't believe how much work he did including installing a septic system, pulling stumps, digging a well line trench and putting everything back together so that it hardly needed raking. Truly amazing.  Our property is full of ledge and Ralph managed to avoid it and get everything done.  If I were to rate him from 1 to 5 stars, with 5 being the highest, I would give him 10 stars!!  He truly is that good. Watching him work, his backhoe was an extension of his hand, he's that dexterous with it. I contacted Jamie about two months ago to obtain an estimate for myself and my neighbor for the future. The estimate I received was reasonable and the service was excellent today. We have twin tanks, he made sure both of them were pumped out as promised. I came across RPM septic about 2 years ago when we just got our tanks cleaned by another company but we experienced drainage issues that no other company was willing to help us out with. I called RPM one morning and the gentleman on the phone (unfortunately didn't catch the name at that time) was kind enough to troubleshoot the possibilities of what we were experiencing without us being existing customers and nothing in return. I called RPM septic to get a quote on a septic repair on a home I was thinking about buying. Ralph was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and responsive into looking into the job. He contacted the city building department, city health department, the outside soil testing lab, went to the site to visually inspect the property, measured the well location and had a report in 2 days on the total evaluation. He uncovered many serious concerns the owner was hiding from us. RPM/Ralph did not charge for the investigation. RPM/Ralph is a reliable, honest, knowledgeable, selfless, customer focused great company. This is the real deal. Stand up company, stand up guy. Septic system replacement and repair is probably the costliest repair with homeownership. When I found myself needing help I called around and talked to 4 or 5 companies . RPM was the only one I spoke with the owner and the person that would do the work . He patiently explained options ( by the way everyone else just read a menu of what the costs were) and then expertly evaluated what the issues were with my system.
