If I could give negative stars, I would. Brought my car in bc it was cutting off, they gave me an appt for a Monday morning. They anticipated it would be ready by Tuesday, then Wednesday, then Thursday...this went on for 3 weeks!!! No sense of urgency. I was having to find rides to work etc ..they never reached out, I always initiated any contact. With each call, I was told it's being worked on and someone would call me. That never happened. Just horrible horrible service all the way around. I m sure they have some nice people working there, but tht doesn't get your car fixed. I wouldn't take my car here again to get my air checked. Got an estimate to have 4 rotors and brake pads changed at a local national chain. At Salas, they changed the rotors and pads, did a full synthetic oil change and state inspection for about $50 less than the chain store wanted just to do pads and rotors. To buy the parts at Advance Auto would cost me $400, so Salas was still making a good profit for the labor at a cost of about $770 total- (wanted $1038 at the chain store), but not taking me completely through the nose. The brakes seem and look brand new. I was recommended to give them a try and I was glad I did. I plan to be back in the future- hopefully it will be a while, but good service! read more

We've gone to Salas for state inspections for all of our vehicles for many years now. I went with my daughter to get her car inspected today since it was a first for her. Chris was friendly, despite how busy they were. (Our fault for waiting until the end of the month.) He was cracking us up with his dad jokes. I've gone to this business twice already and they've treated me real well. They are always helpful, very aware of time management (not keeping customers too long) and their mechanics aren't snobs like others are. If you're willing to learn they'll teach you a bit about the problem you're having and they tailor the fix to the customers needs when possible. They understand fixes can be expensive and performed creative ways to remedy small problems I had to save a time and a few bucks. I've been dealing with them for about 8 years. I was referred by a clerk at an auto parts store. My first experience was great and I was sold. I needed to replace a cam sensor and one of the Salas brothers told me how to do it in ten minutes myself and saved me $$$. They have always been very honest with me and I have referred many friends. I have been taking my car here for last 2 years and they have never charged me extra for unneeded work . I have taken my car to other places for inspections (i.e. Meineke) and they have said that I needed all new brakes, rotors, etc and I had replaced my brakes the year earlier. I am so overdue giving this business the positive review they are owed, but... better late than never. Several months ago, I contacted Salas about my car, which had been sitting miles away unused for several months and wouldn't even start. This vehicle had been neglected in every possible way and I was prepared to pay an arm and a leg to get it up and running again, though I really did not really have the extra cash to spend at the time. I was wrong to prematurely panic. I don't want to give an exact price so as to box them into that price for future work done on other people's vehicles, but I will say this: for less than $2,000 I had the following done: vehicle tow (about 30 miles), new ball joints, realignment, tire rotation & balance, alternator replacement, battery replacement, AC/heat repair, & state inspection done. You can definitely expect 100% HONEST, trustworthy service and pricing from this shop, and that they are going to communicate with you every step of the way. And they also got it done FAST. The tow was done the same day I first called and all of the work was completed and the car back to me in under a week. If you've got one or two repairs rather than multiple "mystery issues" like mine, I'm sure they can have it done in just a day or two. Their receptionist was an absolute doll who called me each and every time they made a new discovery/repair, explained what they had done/were in the process of doing, what they needed to do, and what it would cost up front. Only once she received my consent beforehand did they do any additional work. She was friendly, polite, and professional - a true example of what excellent customer service should look like (someone give that young lady a raise STAT). I have now been driving the car daily for four months and have had zero issues with it. I feel like I basically got a new car for the lowest price possible. I could not be more impressed with this business or its staff. To Salas Auto: THANK YOU for offering expert repair at a reasonable price. I had a bad experience here in 2005. It's a LONG story. They left their tools in my hood of my Ford Escort. They're too lazy too call my insurance company for a supplement payment. They don't "own up" to their mistakes. If USAA didn't reimburse for my supplement payment, I would have sued Salas. Who knows USAA might have sued them? I wouldn't go there to save my life. read more

I'm sorry others have had a bad experience. Me, I have not. I have taken my car to salas 3 times. They have always done me right. I can pick up the phone and know I can call Robbie and he will let me know what's going on. His wife has answered too and I can see how people say she's rough around the edges, but once you talk to her she's real nice and understanding. Salas has fixed my car when Pep boys completely screwed it up with their off the street pretend mechanics. They are now fixing because I recently got into a car accident. They have fought for me with the insurance company. They refused to "tape" my car back together. They have fixed my rear end (no pun intended) , my window, and changed my oil. They are even cleaning my car for me. Yeah, they don't have a lobby and they are use to people dropping off their cars. So what. It's how they've always done it. They get the job done. Just talk to them. They will tell you the truth. No bs or yanking your leg. They tell you as they see it. I think their prices are good. They aren't stiff collared fancy talking guys. Some are cigarette smoking, country sounding, good ol'boys that know what the hell they are doing and will make you feel like family. Just the way I like it. Thanks y'all! read more

Salas is the best their is in town, honest, dependable and great people all of them especially Jennifer! They have been working on my cars and doing our state inspections for years, wouldn't go anywhere else in town! They have always fixed our cars in a very timely manner and never have we had any issues. If you want a cushy waiting room, go to a dealership and pay their prices, I have met some really nice folks hanging out waiting for an inspection at Salas. Sorry Coach I have to disagree with you on your opinion of these folks, I have known them for years and having worked in the automotive industry for a while for one of their competitors, I had to leave their because of the way they did business.
