We came to Changan kitchen for lunch on the Labor Day weekend! The restaurant is in a nice restaurant tucked in the corner! Service was great, even so, the server helped a friend mix her noodles! Triple Jumbo with Pork and Veggies: super flavorful and meaty! Personally, love the balance and umami was this dish brought out! Some of the veggies were a bit firmer in texture but still great! Sweet and Sour Fish: HUGE fish pieces and super flavorful! Great as a side dish with rice or any of the other dishes! Lamb Bun: super flavorful with their spices! Wish their bun was a bit fluffier such as steamed! Pork Bun: great and I suggest adding chili oil for extra flavor! Overall, recommend eating here as this is a bang of your buck type of place to eat at! Price is great for portion size and flavor as well! TIP: Parking is ample and there's two restrooms that are gender neutral! They also have a spa water container for water!

Hidden behind a residential area, we found this restaurant after trying to go to the other Changan Kitchen. The other place was very crowded but luckily this place had open tables. We were seated right away and were greeted by our delightful waitress. For food we got: - Lamb and Pork stew burger: both had great taste and the lamb had a nice spicy kick. Unfortunately the buns weren't that great. Usually they should be flaky and soft but these were a little tough like the frozen ones from the super market 4/5 - The noodles were all delicious. Bouncy thick noodles with your choice of different toppings. I think the pork was the best. I had to add some chili oil but extra sauce was provided on the side so you can season to taste 5/5 - Sweet and sour fish was very yummy and the portion was HUGE. Fat chunks of fish that had a great flavor. 5/5 - Service was fantastic and the cold water was delicious(Probably because it was so hot outside) Will be looking forward to our next visit!

Buns are soft and meat inside is soo good. Must try it.

Place has a nice center ceiling interior. Service is fast and served fresh food. The stir fry chicken noodles were kind of salty. But the chicken egg fried rice and the soups were delicious. The Bao burger had an interesting flavor. My taste bud must've been different from everyone else. But try it maybe your taste palette is different from mine. Check out my orders.

The cold appetizers were pretty good, though the glass noodle was only spicy without any other flavor, it came with a lot of pork large intestines. Would like to try other dishes, especially the stir-fried knife cut noodles.

Spicy Braised beef brisket noodle soup. It only had one spice symbol on the menu but it was pretty spicy!!!!

This place is LEGIT. But a warning for you all that their spicy is SPICYYYY. I tried one of their popular dish, the spicy braised beef noodle soup. It was a gigantic portion with knife cut noodles. It only had 1 spice symbol (others had up to 3!) but it was still quite spicy! Made my nose runny and eyes tear but I still powered through cus it was SO good. I still fantasize about it because it's the only spicy noodle that's actually flavorful, and not just painfully spicy yet bland. Huge portions too!!! I tried their noodles with tomatoes and egg. This didn't have any spice symbol next to it so I assumed it wouldn't be spicy at all but it also had a kick to it. Medium spice for me but my hubby who can't really tolerate spice was sweating bullets lol I highly recommend this place if you're nearby or in the area!!!

Cumin lamb Chinese burger - lamb was VERY flavorful and delicious, burger patty could be better haha

Wow! I am VERY glad to have found this gem of a restaurant that opens so early. It's perfect when you want to start your day off on a tasty note. Also for those who attend F45 fitness classes, lots of people come here after for a meal, so hopefully you don't come during that rush. There's one guy as the host and server, he did a great job managing on his own even though the restaurant was busy. Be patient, the food is worth it! I loved the cumin lamb in the burger. I would suggest it in a noodle dish, but the burger bun was kind of dry and not really memorable. The meat was enough for it to be a highlight though! That's how well-seasoned it was. I would probably order this again! The pork and vegetable wonton soup was DELICIOUS. 100% would get again. It's such a homey dish and the wonton filling was perfectly seasoned. Honestly this dish alone would make this place a 4 star for me. The spicy beef noodle soup with hand pulled noodles was just ok for me. I'd much prefer it at other restaurants so I wouldn't get this again. The noodle consistency was good though. The broth wasn't memorable to me. The Xiao long bao was the most disappointing and probably why this is a 4 star. I don't think they need it on their menu at all. The wrapper was too thick, they didn't have much juice inside, and it wasn't even served with sliced ginger. It was just disappointing. Liang pi (traditional cold noodles) - I LOVED IT. It was so refreshing. The flavors melded nicely, vinegar with some chili oil and I loved the textures. I would order this again for sure. Overall, I'm a big fan. I plan to come back at some point! Parking was ample and service was nice.

I was a big fan of the other location in Ontario so decided to try this new location out. Decoration is upscale for a Chinese place. Very clean and new. Service was fine and lots of diners but food came fast. Food was great. Biang Biang Noodles just as delightful as other location and worth the drive. They have a smaller menu than other location but have more skewers and a new thing where you order a bunch of ingredients and then they fry them in chili oil. If you like that mix of spices it's fantastic (but definitely not good for you even if you order veggies). I will say that I wish there were more veggie options on the menu. That's a staple of my Chinese meals.

I first learned of this chain after passing by the unopened location at University Plaza in Riverside. I wanted a preview of what was coming and decided to stop by the Chino Hills location on a weekday. I tried a few dishes and was really impressed. The bian bian noodles were the highlight for me, but I enjoyed everything I tried. I was a little confused by the skewer menu, as there are two sections, but basically there's one section where you order skewers by the stick, and another where you choose 6 and a sauce and they come pre mixed as a sort of stir fry. The mixed skewers dish was a tad salty, but I really enjoyed the crispy "potato chips," which are thick slices of potato that are deep fried and then tossed in the sauce.

Cute Asian restaurant in the area with many parking spaces. Fast service and our server was quick and attentive. The orange chicken braised beef spicy soup is good and hearty with decent taste in broth. The dumplings that were boiled lacked flavor though and needed sauces.

The place was packed on a Friday night which is always a good sign. Overall it's a decent restaurant but nothing was memorable. The pan fried buns were not crispy enough on the bottom. The noodles were a bit too soft, probably overcooked. The lamb skewers and shrimp skewers were good.

Never had Xian food before but really glad we gave this place a try and now we're hooked for good. The spicy beef noodle soup is phenomenal. The brisket is so tender and the broth is so addictingly spicy. Mapo tofu is out of this world and probably one of the best ones around. Biang Biang noodle is uniquely delicious with a hint of smokiness. Shrimp fried rice is so good and goes really well with the Mapo tofu. Service is prompt and friendly. Place is clean, modern and nicely decorated. Highly recommended.

We've been searching for a legit Chinese restaurant in our neighborhood and it turns out we had to drive to Chino Hills to experience one. My wife had this placed saved on her list of places we should try. When we got to the restaurant we immediately saw a picture of what they called a "Chinese burger" as one of their offerings. We both assumed it was a bao bun of some sort. As soon as we walked in we both noticed that the diners were all Asian. If that was a good indicator then expectations for this place was very high. We were given two menus, funnily enough one of them was a breakfast menu. Take note this branch opens at 730 in the morning so we might be coming back early for their fried dough sticks....LoL. As we are going through the menu we noticed quite a few things that were new to us. Aside from a noodle heavy selection, they also had lamb as one of their mostly used protein, and they also used cumin in a lot of their dishes. After much deliberation we decided on 4 dishes, juicy pork Xiao long bao, sausage fried rice, and Chinese burger with house special marinated beef. The first dish was the Chinese burger. This was one of the pleasant surprises to our lunch. First it wasn't in a bao bun, it was more of a semi thin dough folded like a bao bun. The texture was nice and toasty and crunchy but not too much. The filling was something that reminded us of Filipino corned beef but it wasn't stringy, more small bits of beef nicely seasoned. My wife felt it would have tasted better with a little hoisin, I felt it tasted really well with the chilli oil I added (to each his own). FYI, one order is one "burger" but it was enough to share between the two of us. The rest of the dishes arrived shortly. The fried rice was very tasty, although the sausage they used wasn't what we were expecting. It wasn't Chinese sausage but more maybe a type of American sausage. The pork Xiao long bao was okay, nothing to write home about. The best dish we had was the stir-fried cumin lamb with hand ripped noodles. Best dish we had hands down, it was well seasoned, the noodles were cooked perfectly and spicy. Every bite created beads of sweat that would start to drip from the top of my head down to my forehead and the sides of my face. Definitely loved the food here, can't wait to come back and try their other dishes.

Ate in for breakfast on a weekday. Had like two other tables occupied. Service was fast. Self serve water station. Love the meta utensils. Cute interior decor. Around the outside, the windows show images of the food. Got the hot stone soup bone broth, Stir fried cumin beef noodles, and fried dough. The fried dough was delicious. Very crispy and fresh. Got stone soup bone broth is a little spicy, so for those who are not good with spicy, it'll probably be very spicy. The cumin flavor in the beef noodles is very strong and fragrant. The food is delicious. TLDR- good food, cute comfy interior

I wish there was a better way of seeing that list because I really had no clue and waited in line for nothing. The wait time honestly needs better attention. We probably waited around 20-25 minutes. It was very busy that day, and I'm not sure if it's because it's the weekend and/or due to Chinese New Year. Staff members are shuffling back and forth and are quite rude to be honest. I get that they are stressed running around, but still.... Anyways, we ordered the following via online (scan the QR Code on the table, that is probably better since they are too busy to take your order): - 1 shrimp siu mai (4 pieces) = $5.99 - 1 shrimp dumplings (we got 4 pieces instead of 3 per menu): $5.99 - 1 steamed BBQ pork buns (3 pieces) = $5.99 - 2 sticky rice wrapped with lotus leaf (4 total) = $13.98 - 1 yang chow fried rice = $15.99 - 1 seafood with pan fried crispy noodle = $17.99 SUBTOTAL = $65.93 TAX = $5.11 TOTAL = $71.04 ** Place $10 tip via cash ** We received our yang chow fried rice and crispy noodle timely, however it took a REALLY LONG TIME for us to receive the rest of the orders (the dim sum aka yum cha order); I had to ask the front how long the wait will be, otherwise we will cancel - the lady ended up checking and we got some of our orders. If I didn't ask, the wait time would be wayyyyy longer. Overall, we all enjoyed the food. Very authentic (Hong Kong Style). Management needs to improve and the wait time. Very small inside, this place needs to expand. There is another location in El Monte.

I know because I cooked this dish at home myself before, and I could tell that they reduced it for far far far too long and the sauce was right on the edge of burnt, and was thick/molasses like, and a bit bitter when it should have been sweet/umami. Like the sauce was dark almost black instead of more red. But! I will give it to them, it was pretty tasty especially when mixed with rice so I guess I couldn't complain too much! The noodles were good, but the pork stole the show so I can't say I recall much, but with some chili oil the green onion noodles were fantastic.

The curry beef pot stickers really stand out, packed with rich curry flavor and perfectly seasoned. Highly recommend the chicken and crab roe served over rice or noodles--the crab roe adds an extra layer of umami that makes the dish feel indulgent without being heavy. Definitely worth coming back for these dishes!
