They served lunch specials for less than $10 per person, which includes the main dish, pork fried rice and a fried spring roll. It was quickly and warmly cooked. I took a chance on a new Chinese takeout spot--Great China was an excellent choice, with flavorful food and quick service. I had the orange chicken combo and some steamed veggie dumplings. I submitted an online order (on their website) at 5:57 p.m. on Saturday evening. The confirmation email stated that my order should arrive at 6:51 p.m. Great. I'm waiting. Waiting. Waiting. I call at 7:20 to see where my food is. The male I spoke to said, "The delivery driver just left with your food and should be there soon." Great. I'm waiting. Waiting. Waiting. I call back at 7:51 (an hour after the original delivery estimate). The female who answers the phone eventually says that they never got my online order. WHAT??? When I told her that I spoke to someone who said it was on the way, her answer was, "I don't know who you spoke to." WHAT??? She said they would make my food and have it delivered in 15 minutes. They have 7 minutes and 56 seconds to get here. We'll see. The moral of this story is don't order from them online. The moral of this story for Great China is: if you can't make online ordering work, don't offer it!!! Be clear that this review is for their lack of service, not their food. Because I do not yet have it, I can't review it. Update: The food finally arrived, around 8:25 or so. It was not worth a 2.5 hour wait. Food was average (homestyle tofu, broccoli with garlic sauce, crab rangoon). The driver promised relief on my next order. It's doubtful that next order will ever happen. read more

After an hour of waiting, I called. They were very nice and told me the driver would be here in mere minutes. I figured that was okay since I went through a third party ordering website. Forty minutes after that call, no food. I called back. What sounded like a small, very confused child answered and said that the driver had, again, just left. At this rate, I could raise and slaughter my own chicken, grow my own vegetables, and harvest my own rice. The only reason I'm giving two stars rather than one is that I can't guarantee I'd have had the same experience had I just called in the first place. Just ordered takeout from Great China last Friday. Delivery time was solid for a Friday night. Price was reasonable. Didn't think the portions were as sizable as the other review said, but the food was very good. Would have liked some broccoli in the General Tso's, but that's really the only knock I have. I always get the hot and sour soup, sweet & sour chicken, egg foo young, or chicken and broccoli. Hot and sour soup is more sour than hot if that's how you like it. I prefer it that way because I don't like hot but still want flavour. Plentiful and variety of chunky ingredients - mushroom, bamboo, egg, tofu, just a little bit of carrot (thank goodness). A lot of places will just make it hot so the only flavour is spicy and the chunks of ingredients so it's very bland. Not so here. Probably the best Chinese food take out place out of all the adjoining towns. read more

I order from this restaurant only because everyone at work orders food from here and delivery is always under 15 minutes and pickup is never more than 15 minutes. However I have decided that is not a good enough reason to order from this restaurant. I gave them one star because they are very quick to provide you with food. Several issues that occurred different times: -shrimp eggroll tasted old, almost like the refrigerator -delivered the WRONG meals -forgot to provide sweet and sour sauce for the SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN -order was incomplete after having it delivered -driver who is the owner got upset with the tip provided, guess it wasn't a good enough tip. The restaurant is less than a 1/4 mile away from work and they deliver numerous times a day to us, so the driver makes ENOUGH money from us. -MAJOR ISSUE...they got our order incorrectly and when we called to have them deliver the right meal he asked us to not eat it. When he arrived he asked us for the meal and asked if he touched or ate any while he takes the meal back. I can't say they sold it to another person however why would you take a meal back if it was your mistake. Makes you wonder what they did with that meal. read more

I travel a lot for work, and so I told my coworker before I called that we probably wouldn't be able to understand the person on the other line.. turns out I couldn't. I tried to order General Tso's, some fried rice, and some egg rolls...I ended up getting an egg roll, some chicken that may be General Tso's. *as I'm typing my coworker just informed me it is not*, some real yellow rice and some chicken wings, and let's note that not once did I ever order chicken wings... When we went to pick up our order I hadn't noticed but my coworker saw and employee working the grill "blowing snot into a trash can".. he said it was a "double barrel, snot rocket" so I can only imagine... Him telling me this just as I was about to take my first bite made me more than weary but it tastes fine so I'll give it 3 stars read more

Buyer beware, they will bait you with one price then not deliver your full order. when you call to complain they will tell you that they didnt charge you for your full order but if they will send it out if you want to pay more. If you complain enough they will send it out and say they wont charge you. As far as Im concern its a classic bait and switch. I wonder how many people they get with this tactic. Stay away! I first called to check if they delivered to my address, they said yes. They told me I could order online, which I did. My order was accepted. Within 5 mins, I received a call to tell me they would not deliver. To make things worse, they use a third party who already charged my credit card and they refused to reimburse me. This was the worst service I've ever experienced. After my food had not arrived for 2 hours, I called and they informed me that they delivered to the wrong house and that they would make new food for me. 2 hours later it still wasn't delivered. When I called again they gave me an attitude and the food didn't arrive for another hour. They didn't apologize or compensate in any way. Also, when the food arrived, it was the wrong food. They hung up twice on me, and were even more rude when I called back. Tried to pay with a credit card, and right after they said okay go ahead with the card number they began taking another order on the phone! Completely ignored us! This restaurant is close to us so, we usually order from here. The food is decent, just wish they'd put more onion and other veggies in their fried rice. Delivery is usually fast. I've been ordering from great China for about three years now. That being said there have been plenty of times where everything has gone smoothly. However, I have had many experiences where the delivery drivers were just rude. From opening the door and hearing the driver complain on the phone how hard it was to find my place (which was right on new street at the time) to the driver forgetting an item I ordered and me calling back and the driver saying they would return with the item shortly and then never show up, to what happened today. After ordering my food it took about 40 minutes to arrive. This was expected and isn't the issue. When the driver called he said, "did you order Chinese?" I said yes, and he said, "come outside." I opened the door and he was standing there and said, "what, were you sleeping?" Handed me my food and walked away. I guess I didn't hear him knocking, but he must not have been knocking very loudly as my apartment is small and I didn't have music playing Or anything. I answered the phone on the first call.
