On may 19, 2024 at 315pm , missy was cuttin my hair n doing a great job, when one young Air Force serviceman came in the store, in uniform and politely asked if he could use the bathroom there, obviously you could tell he needed to pee.. and there was a dark, headed older lady cutting hair in the far back and she turned to him and said no you're not allowed to use our restrooms and made him leave and after he left, she spitefully said to her coworker, they can go to Walmart. It's close...... that is total crap that are young servicemen are treated that badly and disrespected that you wouldn't even let them use a bathroom to pee. I just had a hair cut at Sport Clips, was not happy so stopped at this location to check it out and ask about their services. Have to say I won't be going there. I spoke to an individual told him "I just had my hair cut and Sport Clips and coming by to see what your services are like - I don't need a cut today". The response I received was, "We can get you in - in about 120 minutes". I said you are missing my point, and repeated what I already had said. The response then was well we cut hair here - if you have any further questions let me know. - I would have to say this is a great way to turn away business - not at all what I was expecting with respect to a new customer and customer service. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT A QUALITY HAIRCUT. Let's start at the beginning. You walk into a salon with employees that literally look like they just rolled out of bed. Hair not done and looking a hot mess (my husband's actual description). Then you ask for a specific cut and the "stylist" chooses instead to do what she feels like doing, in turn not giving you anything close to the cut you asked for. Then when said husband doesn't leave a tip because he is not happy the "stylist" rolls her eyes and sighs. My husband then explained he was unhappy and the stylist said NOTHING. My daughter came in to the great clips on overland Idaho recently and asked for a style showing 3 pictures...the hairstylist Janace Not only was rude to her about the style she picked , but at it was rude overall. If she couldn't handle doing the haircut, then she should have passed it to somebody else. Instead, she butchered my daughter's beautiful long hair. Taking off more than was asked and didn't even come close to the style in any of the pictures. When my son-in-law reached out to complain because my daughter was so upset. This Great Clips made her feel worse and said that she walked out with a haircut. She was happy with that is far from the truth. Great Clips has a policy posted on their site that if you're not happy with a haircut that's work with you. This store offered nothing to help my daughter. And they will be hearing from us again soon. I would never recommend this place for anyone if they're gonna argue with their custopersonally and not do what is asked. When I get my hair cut short, I know I run the risk of it not being immediately fixable if it is not done the way I want it. This is why I always explain and literally show the stylist how I want my bangs sloped, by showing them with my hand that I want it longer on one side than on the other, and sloped between. I show them my receding hairline so they will know to be careful not to thin out the side of my head where I want the bangs to be longer, because it makes my bangs look like the shape of a smile on my forehead, instead of a straight sloped line. I used to show a picture of the cut I wanted (same cut I asked for today that I have gotten for years). I will be showing the picture from now on, because what I got was not what I asked for. She fixed it a little to where my bangs are just straight across which is better than being shaped like a smile on my forehead, but I was not happy. I usually get a great haircut there, so I will be back, but just will show a picture off google next time instead of describing it or trusting the current stylist to accurately interpret the notes from the previous stylist. I have gone to Great Clips in two different states, the state of Missouri; where I was born/raised in until I relocated here to Boise, ID in 2001. I've been to the Great Clips at Glenwood and State Street location for 13 years. After which I relocated up onto the Central Bench and for a brief few months went to the Franklin Road/Fred Meyers Great Clips; before getting tired of a crowded parking lot if shoppers and ending up moving to my last recent location I grew fond of, the Great Clips off Overland Road by Wal-Mart. Generally speaking; overall Great Clips is a great company with many great, skilled, many over qualified but underpaid but no one's fault in particular- hard- dedicated hairstylist's who work long shifts often with just short breaks and within the last few years... from my own observation, more limited staff. Making it a harder, challenging mentally and physically job for hairstylists and salon managers both. Registering online used to be a new technology tool to cut waiting times down, now if used by those who do, it's just adding to the list of people who didn't register but walked in and wait longer for their appointment. I value each hair stylist I've met at this location, as I've come to meet them all over the now 14 years I've gone to this Great Clips salon off Overland. I've seen many come, and others go; but the ones whom remained over time are the hairstylist Frontliners that go unmentioned and need acknowledged and a special " mention. It was not too long ago during a lockdown at home with many businesses closed- salons included, when without these Frontliners, men and women across the U.S. and abroad, people whom didn't have knowledge of cutting their own hair, did the extreme and shaved their head bald, as did some men. So to All hairstyles, and to those at Great Clips-" thank you on behalf of us who without you cutting hair and exposing your health risks as a part of your job... today more of us would be more bald and beautiful- than have hair and beautiful because of how you cut and style it. Day after day; hour after hours, short staffed, sometimes over- worked, and as it feels like a never end in sight.... Hold fast to those individuals that you serve who notice your hard work, extra effort, little extra things you do that go above and beyond your duties. You are not forgotten; people do notice, what you given out from within, you will be blessed in return and will receive in double. Hold tight onto your purpose, for you do have one; even if it's just making the person who's hair your styling feel beautiful and more confident for that day. We come here because we get coupons in the mail which is good! I mean who doesn't want a discount right? My son gets his haircut here & we are pleased everytime. I like that you can do online check in & they tell you how much waiting time you have, I can get use of my remaining time & not waste than when you do walk in & you don't know how long you'll be waiting (though you can still do it). His hairdresser is pretty good with what she does, it's cool too that they have a record of his past appointment that it's pretty much based on that, he has the same haircut anyways. read more

I was a walk in customer Monday 10:30 am. There were 2 other guests in front of me and 3 hair stylists. After 1.3 hours the other 2 guests were still waiting and I was 3rd. There were a couple of "online check-ins" that came in and were served during that period of time. I get it. If I am standing in the store wanting to do business with them and am not as important as anyone else. I actually must have blended into the seat and the wall because not one of the employees ever acknowledge me after I checked in. I feel sorry for the other two guests in front of me but really my time is limited as well and the if this store doesn't staff according to the demand then it's very simple. STOP going here. I typically love Great clips. I always seek one out if its near by. We were shopping & I needed a cut badly. They were about to close so that was my fault but still. The girl wasn't very friendly from the time she took my info to the time I got out of the chair. She asked what we were doing with my hair today. I told her I wanted it cut under my collar bone. We talked about my hair being a little curly (so it would end up shorter once dried). When my head moved she was short with me and said, "Keep your head straight, it might end up uneven if it's not already!" She asked about the shortest length of my layers. When I told her I wanted my 'bangs' to be under my chin and blended in to the back she snapped, "Don't worry about that part now!" I said I just need to be able to put my hair up. She did take time to ask about my hair and see how high I wear it, which was nice, but in the end because she didn't want to worry about the front of my hair, now the back of my hair is a lot shorter than the front! I did end up giving her a tip, which I regret, but she was friendlier at the end. She was chatting with co worker's which is totally fine, just noting it put her more at ease. First time I went they said 30 min; I waited an hour then left. Next week; I go they told me a 2 hour wait said if I check in online it'd be quicker. Let me start by saying I normally do not go to this location... I just happened to to be in the area and was pressed for time. I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!! Leo cut my hair and did not stop talking the entire time. No offense but I don't need to hear your whole life story. He cut me behind my ear which is now extremely agitated and annoying not to mention painful. He did all kinds of things to my hair I didn't ask for including texturing... my hair is thin enough without it. I have been to so many other locations and all they do is print out a slip that tells them what to do with your hair yet somehow Leo could not get it right. I recently got my hair cut here, and there was a long wait. I would call this store "slow and mediocre clips"

I wasted 3 hours on one of the worst haircuts I've ever had. I checked in on line which stated a 57 minute wait. I arrived at the salon 50 minutes later to be told despite the fact that I'd checked in on line to be told there was an additional 40 minute wait. I left and returned 40 minutes later to be told there was still a 40 minute wait. I questioned I was hearing correctly but yes an additional 40 minute wait. I left and returned 35 minutes later to be told they had just called my name but as I was not there they'd checked someone else and that I had another 30 minute wait. So 57+40+40+30= 167 minutes, what happened to check in on line no waiting. Despite the fact that I had a very important appointment at 3:00 pm I had no alternative but to wait as I was leaving for a vacation 3 days later. I will never set foot in that salon again. read more
