My husband came in today... and I feel awful! He was already having a bad day and wanted to get a haircut to feel a little better about himself. Unfortunately, the lady working did not listen to his request to not take much off the top- of course she cut it incredibly short and completely took off the blonde part of his hair. She also took the fade to the middle top of his head??? Why would anyone get their fade taken to the top of their head? And she made the side burns extremely uneven. I'm talking over an inch uneven, you notice it immediately. Now my husband feels embarrassed to go anywhere without a hat on. We deserve a refund of our money and a free cut to *attempt* fix the destruction of his poor hair. Otherwise, we will never recommend this location, or Great clips, ever again. read more

I have been going here for regular haircuts for over 3 years. The person working there who cut my cut my hair the last 3 times needs to fix his customer skills and his equipment before he makes this place go downhill. His machine is really dented and it cuts/hurts my neck. Last 2 times I went there he didn't do good edges for my sides and I had to fix at home once it grew out. I just left there really angry and I never wrote bad review but this person needs to fix himself or just quits because it is obvious he doesn't want to be there. When I asked him if i could see my neck, instead of showing me with the mirror he handed me the mirror rudely. Well he doesn't deserve my business and you just lost loyal customer. I waited 3 times before writing this review. No need to reach back to me and give coupon or free hair cut that is not the point. The point is this employee is not providing safe or good quality service. I wish best luck to owner I know being business owner harder than ever but I hope this reviews encourages you to talk with this employee so he can improve or find another job that suits him better. read more

Very disappointing experience. Took my son to get his back to school haircut on Saturday 8/22. We were the only customers and only one lady working there. She wore a dress that read "100% chance that I don't care" I should have walked out right then. She gave him a rough, speed haircut that made him cry. On top of that, she was terrible at cutting. I had to ask her to even things out, but she became very defensive. She would not listen to the way they usually do it. Broken English did not help. read more

I visit this location monthly. I've only had great interactions with the staff. They are efficient and friendly. The prices have gone slightly up but I'm sure that's a company thing and not just this location. Usually in an out in 30 minutes. The only negative I can point out is parking up front. It's a busy side and if you go around peak time you will have to really look for a spot. read more

When this location opened up, it was awesome as we were happy with the Great Clips off Lover's in Dallas back when we lived in that area. The first visit was great, Husband & Son got their haircuts & came out satisfied. After their first visit, I decided to give 'em a try as I'm rather low maintenance. Just needed a thinning out & 2 inches off. When it was my turn, I got a guy who probably did haircuts in the Army. I quickly remembered that I wasn't asking for much so I'd go with the flow. When I left, my hair looked fine and I was just happy to get so much weight off my head (I have outrageously thick hair, hence the need for a thinning). I get home, shower and realize that one side is longer than the other side of my head. The next day I go back and explain the situation. They tried to fix it, but to absolutely even it out, I'd have to get a shorter 'do and I really didn't want it shorter than what I had already gotten. They gave me a coupon for a $3.99 haircut for when it grew out a bit more, they'd be able to fix it. Yay for uneven hair for two months! I've always said, 'You get what you pay for', so I really didn't feel the need to complain and poo-poo this Great Clips location until I took my son. He's four. He's traumatized by haircuts ever since his 2nd haircut when he was 10 months old. The hairstylist was rough and it was just downhill from there for him & haircuts. My son got his umpteenth haircut at this location because the staff is actually nice. I trusted they would be kinder, and I'm sure they would have been if we didn't show up at 8:40pm one night. I knew that it was 20 minutes before closing, and like myself, they have things to take care of outside of work. I totally understand that. I was planning on giving a GOOD tip just for the mere fact that we showed up around closing time. I remember being a waitress and people would come to the restaurant 10 minutes before we closed... it was a turn off, but worth the effort since they always left a great tip. I was paying it forward, in my mind. We come in and I could immediately tell the ladies were ready to call it a day. Their attitudes couldn't have made that fact clearer. I figured if I kept a positive attitude, things would lighten up. The didn't. The lady that cut my son's hair was harsh. She was purely angry at the fact that we showed up at 8:40pm. I'm sorry, but you close at 9pm. Not 8:40pm. She was twisting my son's head back and forth, not even using the clippers carefully, and he was on the verge of tears. I mean, this lady was in a hurry to get out of there. Fortunately, my son only needed a trim, so the traumatic experience was over in 10 minutes, and all those 10 minutes were spent on me giving her the crazy eye. I would've grabbed my son, given her the finger and left... but I didn't want my son to have crazy hair. I just let her do her thing, all while comforting and telling him it would be okay. But I made a mental note to immediately write an angry email to Great Clips. We paid, and we didn't tip. My husband emailed Great Clips, and within the week we recieved an apologetic phone call and a gift card for 3 haircuts. Needless to say, we used the gift card at the Great Clips off Lavon(which, BTW is waaaay better). We haven't stepped foot into this location since that fiasco. Point of story? Don't go in at 8:40pm, because apparently that's when they close. read more

Pretty nice cuts if you're asking for something simple. For more challenging styles go to a different place. Update: washed my hair and woke up the next day with very clear uneven hair. It looks choppy... Now I got to find a new place to fix this mess Just go to a place that costs a little more but actually knows what they're doing. read more

My partner went here and loved it. And if he is happy, I am happy. The 2 ladies working that night were super friendly and helpful. It seems as though they weren't in a speed race or anything like most of the big chain places. He is really picky about his hair and liked the service. He will be going here from now on. I have been going here for the past 3 years. The service really depends on your stylist. So far from my experience, the blondes (two of them) and one black lady were very professional, friendly, take their time to do the job, pay attention to details etc. Very good experience through them. But there are few Asians working there, definitely stay away from Holly, she is very rude, not courteous at all, unfriendly and just after the tip as she races to get it done for more head counts. I had multiple bad experiences through her and she was consistently rude and unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend her at all. Couple other Asian ladies working there are friendly and did an OK job but if you really want to get it done the right way, please stick with the non Asians. read more

So iIm not a local, but I needed to get a haircut in a pinch. The Asian lady (Vietnamese) was very friendly and cut my hair with concentration and took a bit longer than most folks, but this was probably the best haircut I've had in a while. Not sure if it's because I'm also Asian, so she 'knows' my hair texture and such, but she was really good a blending my hair and texturizing the top. My husband and children have been coming here for years. My husband works close and takes Iunch breaks to get his cuts. He is actually really picky about his hair but needs somewhere he can drop in on a dime when he is free. Plus, my hair stylist charges about double for a cut. There are a few good stylists here. Kim is the best, she takes her time. James and Vicki are good as well. We love the check-in app! They are quick and very nice to my children, they love coming to get haircuts. We actually live in Rowlett and come here instead of the Rowlett one because they are so much better. The value and cut is great. Look for coupons, they come about 4-5 times a year. I was really nervous about getting my hair cut by someone other than my normal stylist but Brianna couldn't have been better! I needed my hair to be trimmed and evened out (the left side was shorter due to my trichotillamania) but didn't want to lose my length. Absolutely awful place. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. My boyfriend went in and showed the man a picture of what he wanted. Not only was it not even remotely close to what he asked for (he pretty much shaved his entire head), but he CUT INTO HIS BEARD AND LEFT A BALD SPOT IN HIS BEARD. A good haircut is as good as the experience. It's not about how many you can churn through in an hour, but the relationship each stylist has with their client. With this said, my wife goes to Aveda, and full disclosure, I could do the same, but that's not me. Holly at Great Clips Firewheel is the reason I spend my money at this location. The wait was decent for only having 3 ladies at the time. Finally my turn. My stylist was Vicki. She was amazing and patient with my "can you take off a little more" moments. I had a good experience, though the lady who cut my hair was a bit unusual looking (tall, big hands, blonde and black hair). But she was friendly, fast and she gave me good hair advice with the good cut. The only part that was off-putting was that some of the girls who worked there were in the back chairs chatting in another language I didn't recognize,, and while they were chatting and laughing it felt like they were talking about me. Since I heard them speak English that seems to be the only reason to be speaking whatever language they were speaking. Or they were talking about my stylist, who was new to that location she told me. I want to go back but I have to admit the foreign chatter was a huge turn-off for me. I don't like it in my nail salon and I definitely don't like it when I am getting my hair cut. I moved to this area looking for a Great Clips I've used them in the past and was going to continue to use them, at the location it said NO WAIT! on the door I waited 15 min, once I got in told the girl how I wanted my hair cut and was told no I can't cut it that way because I might cut my fingers (point cut). If we could give "zero" stars we would. Do NOT go to DENNIS. It is a bit difficult to find someone who speaks English here, and Dennis does not speak or understand English. My son clearly explained what he wanted and even showed him a picture - leaving his hair longer on top. Dennis did not listen at all (or just did not understand English). He completely shaved his head all the way around, The same length, the same blade, and just shaved it all off. This is for his Senior prom!!
