First time ever to a Great Clips. I like the check in system and that they create a profile for you. They have a simple app for pre-checking in too which I downloaded after be told about it. The wait was shorter then other places I've been. The cut was basic but seemed a little rushed. I wanted the messy look on top but got an old man brush back with a part even after explaining what I wanted. Overall I got about 80% of what I was describing. Price is reasonable, in line with a place like this. I would almost give them four stars but they get three for the rushed less then personable service. I'll try them again. read more

Never again. I've had 3 cuts at great clips and all of them were bad. Two of the "stylists" don't know what an inch looks like. The third one doesn't know what a straight line is. And one apparently thinks "feathering" is the same as "layering." read more

Great Clips 530 Sutton Way Grass Valley, CA 95945 I'd been to this salon for several years, but yesterday I checked in online at GreatClips Glenbrook Plaza Grass Valley, on Tuesday morning, I showed up just as I was #1 on the list (there were 4 names). There was no one else waiting when I entered. I was greeted by the two stylists there (woman and a man whose name I didn't get), the man checked me in, and I asked that woman cut my hair, as she had done so in the past and did a great job. Both stylists finished at about the same time, after they cleaned up, the man told woman that i was next and had asked for her, and he took the #2 on the list. Without any comment to me, the woman went over to another man waiting and took him as her next customer. I was first on the list, I showed up early, when I showed up there was no one else waiting... I got up and without any comment walker slowly out the door, i had an appt to get to, but i still had time to get my hair cut, if it was done then, i actually found another salon on my way to the appointment, and was able to walk in and get my cutting, and still make my appt...the new salon, did a great job, and i will probably go back to it for my next cutting.. I will not go back to Glenbrook Plaza Grass Valley again. read more

If you want to be mistreated, and ignored on how you want your hair cut then come to this location on Sutton Way. It's convenient for me so I have come here for years but the last straw was sighing in on line with a 28 minute wait time. I then walked in with 4 minutes to go, and after 20 minutes of waiting (a total of about 40 minutes the only male haircutter calls out another name and he laughs when I politely said was told by another stylist I was next a good 15 minutes ago. So I just turned around walked out haven waisted almost and hour of my day. You get what you pay for, and even the 20 plus dollars (plus the $8-10 tip I leave) is far far to much. read more

Called for appointment but message said employees were focusing on cuts and would not be answering the phone or returning calls to 'just go to the store during business hours' for service. I did, to learn folks who make appointments online have priority- online appointments? I was told I'd be after a gentleman, an hour later and seeing him leave a woman was taken, i nicely said i believed I was next. I was told she was a redo for a bad cut done there a couple days before. Then I was told there were 4 more people, online apps, before me. Took my daughters here a few times and each time the girls knew exactly what they wanted, showed the stylist what they wanted, and got something completely different. My daughter asked for her long hair to be trimmed to her shoulders and showed them a picture of what she wanted. They butchered her hair and it is now 4" short of her shoulders. I recommend that for women - stay away. Two days ago I received the worst hair cut in my life. I had a simple request, my hair which is all one length was too long. I wanted about 4 inches trimmed off. Always when I receive this type of cut my hair has been clipped up in layered sections to be trimmed. When the lowest layer is trimmed, then the next layer is released and trimmed to match the length until all has been trimmed. Well, at Great Clips this didn't happen. It was wam bam thank you ma'am we are done. No more than 5 minutes. I looked and noted to the "stylist" that it was longer on one side. She denied this. I looked again and repeated myself. Still a denial. I paid and left, never to return. I need at wait about a month before I can go someplace decent to have it recut decently. read more

Went to Great Clips on Freeman(?), anyway it was the worst experience I've ever had. I asked for a trim and wash, thinking it shouldn't be too complicated. I don't know what kind of shampoo they used, but it left my hair like straw. I asked for an inch off and go through a clean up long layers. She lopped off a couple of inches, and made two snips to the layers. It looked like I put a bowl on my head. I guess you get what you pay for. Katrina is not going to make, she was not friendly to the point of being rude. Never again! I'll go back to a real beauty salon. read more

I really like Great Clips over by Beach Hut Sandwich Shop and Cricket cell phone store. They are really nice and friendly to me. I will always keep coming back to them. The cost of a haircut is affordable and I live that it is only 17. 00 or 18.00 dollars. I would recommend this place if you can't afford a haircut at any other hair solons that are in town. I have been going to Great Clips for a long time now. First I was going to Auburn. I live in Nevada City and was very happy to find out they were here in Grass Valley. I had success with Great Clips until 8/31/18. Cheryl cut and ruined my hair. I wanted my ends cut, and to make my hair look healthy by cutting my dry ends, instead she cut and cut and gave me an ugly short cut that is unbecoming. I have always keep my hair long so that I can push it back. I can no longer do that and my hair looks like a Bush Tree. She has no business cutting hair and does not understand curly hair I could not believe that she used a comb instead of a pick and tried to make it look straight which is a No No. Lindsay cut my hair to perfection in the month of May but she was not available. Lesson Learned- Get a professional and pay the going price. I have to wait a year for this mess to grow back. I will not be going back. read more

I've been to this Great Clips a handful of times now, and I'll never be back. I've got literally the easiest style of men's haircut there is, and they have yet to do even a half decent job. There seems to rarely be the same stylists here, so it's always someone different that cuts my hair, I can't even fault one person. I've gotten the worst cuts here, so bad it's like they are either absolute beginners or just straight don't take pride in their work. I just returned home to see a huge divot for lack of a better word on my incredibly crooked neckline and patches of hair at different lengths. I had to once again trim my hair in the mirror and have my wife attempt to fix my neckline. Try anywhere else but here. read more

Have had my hair cut twice now by Jaime, shes awesome! Not to mention all the people who have helped me at this great clips are respectful and friendly. Last time I went to get my hair totally chopped off amd had no idea hoe to style it, Jaime was an awesome help, had really creative and fun ideas that were still flattering, loved the whole experience. I usually hatttteee getting haircuts and always put it off as long as possible, but this recent experience has chsnged that! So easy, relaxing, and exciting!!
