I went into great clips with my friend Synde today who had a fantastic haircut by Lace. We took a picture in to show her of what she wanted done and it looked identical to the picture! Boy oh boy, I hate taking the time to write negative reviews but this is more of a public service announcement for the staff/owner here. I've been here twice and the first time was halfway descent (younger gal) and the second time was absolutely HORRIBLE (older gal). I don't remember their names but some retraining on how to cut men's hair is needed!! It was an uneven length, no fade at all, all the lines in the back were uneven ...I could keep going. Once I got home my friend had to re-cut my hair and someone who had never cut hair in their life did a better job than the last person that cut my hair here. read more

I am very happy with the haircut Haley gave me! It's exactly as I wanted (I brought in a picture), I explained what bothered me and what I wanted different-and she nailed it! I did not get a wash (I already washed at home) but she did blow dry and then fine-tuned the cut. I love it! All for $15 plus a tip! I've spent MUCH more for the same quality or worse cut. I will be back. Update: Haley was gone and I had my hair and my daughter's hair cut by two different people. Mine was very mediocre and I'm fighting it every day. My daughter's was botched. I just found out Haley is no longer there so, I have to take away some stars because I can't recommend this salon. read more

Went for the budget haircut this time around thinking that I could get away with it. Thought it was busy but come to find out it was 3 of the barbers sitting in the waiting area not doing anything. It was like they were surprised to see a customer in there. "Ummm.. Hi welcome to Great Clips, do you need a haircut?" No guy, I came in to get my tires checked and my oil changed. Get to the barber station and nothing is set up. Are you gonna magically cut my hair with your fingers? One of the most awkward interactions that I've had in a barbershop. Really wanted to make it work. Close to home and cheap. Never again. Goes without saying the haircut itself was something I could of pulled off on my own with one eye open. read more

Both times we have try to come here the staff has been very rude and not helpful.we have a three-year-old son and At one point when he got scared the hairdresser even said "seriously dude?" Which is not appropriate to say in front of a client. Instead of talking like that she could have tried to be nice and made my son comfortable, both times they never even smiled so of course he was scared. I unexpectedly had to get out of town on a flight and my normal salon closed before I could get there. I desperately needed a bang trim. I checked Yelp to find a decent walk-in salon and found this place. Within 5-10 minutes of walking in the door I walked out with freshly trimmed bangs. I didn't check in online, but I know it's a convenient option. It was a last minute decision to get a cut. I only had to wait 15 minutes. Lace was my stylist. She confirmed my preferences that they had on file, but I wanted a shorter cut than last time. So she asked many questions about what I wanted. I'm not one that ever knows the latest style or what would be the best cut for my face shape. She inquired about my lifestyle and general preferences. I'm a wash and go kind of gal for work and a baseball cap for the weekends. So she provided me with a couple of options. I picked the first option and love my new style! The only reason I gave this a four star vs five is because the phone rang consistently and with only two stylists and no front desk help, this forced them to keep stopping mid cut to answer the phone. read more

Really quick, painless, cheap and easy way to get haircuts. The first time I went there, they took down notes that they store in my account and they pull them out every time for a consistent haircut. Since I live very close, the online check-in is very handy - they have wait times online and you can check-in online so they are literally expecting you when you come in! The staff is really pleasant and seems passionate about their jobs, which is very nice and unexpected for a chain establishment. read more

First visit. My husband goes here, but he us easily pleased when it comes to hair. I walked in and was pleasantly surprised. I was immediately acknowledged and greeted as I entered. One of the stylists took my name and I was told it would be 10 mins, which it was. The stylist I got was Kelly and she was easy to talk to seemed to enjoy her work. Had a hair cut last Friday with Tammy a week ago. Absolutely the worst. An 8 year old could do better! . 4 strokes with the electric cutter, no blending nothing. I just had the worst experience at a hair salon. I told the lady (I wish I got her name), that I wanted a 2 on the sides and barely trim it on the top. She did my left side very well, then proceeded to screw up the right side. The length was not even a 1, and then higher up it was what it was going to be a 2. She didn't even care to fix it until I asked her to, so she attempted to blend it in, but it just was not fixable, unless I did a full buzz at this point. I pointed at her that since the left is too short, and the right is too long, she'll have to do the left. She started getting agitated and was telling me it isn't. You could've seen that from an airplane. I stuck my hand out of the cover tried to pinch my hair on my right side; I can't as it's too short. Tried pinching the hair on the left side, no problem, as it's length 2. Then she said, "fine, I'll run the clippers again on the left". She did to make it short like the right, but again left it a bit longer. And then took the cover off, indicating we're done and proceeded to go to the register to check me out. I said, nope, you didn't fix the top. She was so surprised and gave a look to the other hair dressers, so I insisted she comes and fixes it. When I went home, everyone in the family pointed out that I have lines on my left side, and in the back (which I didn't see at the shop, but when I checked it with a mirror, sure enough, it was a disaster on the back too). I will say, I am generally very patient and laid back with services I receive. I've had botched haircuts before, and I understand, sometimes your clippers will run shorter and as with any profession, things go wrong. I never complain about that. But when she tries to tell me with a straight face in broad daylight that what I'm saying is not true, that there is nothing wrong, that's where I take up issue with. I've had hair cuts here regularly since I moved in the area 4 years ago, and generally they've been OK, nothing to be thrilled about, but good enough, very close to home, short wait lines etc. After this experience yesterday, I'm not going back ever again. Made reservation online, drove up and they were ready for me. Lace asked me some great questions that showed she wanted to give me what I wanted, and was very pleasant. The air in the store was energetic and it's obvious the people working there like working together and respect each other. At the end I got up to walk to the register and Lace asked me to come back. She asked if I have a curved spine (I do have some curvature) and she asked me to sit back so she could make minor adjustments to compensate. I was super impressed. I've become pretty tired of over priced haircuts that require tons of product to look half way decent, so I ventured into Great Clips hoping for the best. Upon entering I was greeted by Haley who was very welcoming and took time to really understand what I was looking for (a simple textured cut, that looks cute and is easy to manage). Haley asked me a few times during the cut if everything looked how I wanted just to make sure it was too my liking. I must say I am extremely happy with my new haircut and the price ($15 cut and $5 tip). It's way better than what I normally get in an expensive place on Capitol Hill. Finally, someone understood that i needed to cut the hair short on the whole head, not only on the sides and front, unlike in other places i'd been before.
