I went in for a light trim to remove a bit of dryness from the ends of my long hair -- I was very clear that I wanted only the ends lightly trimmed. Instead, my hair was butchered into weird layer chunks. The stylist took far too much off and cut it in uneven way that destroyed the even length I had. My newly created bottom "layer" is now shorter and covered by the top, and the hair no longer braids evenly. I did not have these layers. I did not notice until it dried after leaving because she sprayed it very wet to cut it. To make matters worse, my friend's "trim" during the same visit was barely anything at all, dry-- less hair than you'd get on your hand from petting a dog once -- yet he was charged for a full price haircut. My total was $61 with tip for two trims: one that was hacked up and one barely touched. I've been to another Great Clips location, where they adjusted the price for such a minimal trim like that, into a bang trim price, so this inconsistency and lack of skill consistency is very disappointing. The hairstylist herself was really sweet, but I didn't realize until I actually went and looked through my hair that the bottom layer of my hair is uneven and is not blended with my hair and I noticed that in the store my hair wasn't the length that I had originally asked for, but I've noticed that the lady that did my hair seem to have a language barrier so I figured she misunderstood because I had made a comment about just wanting my dead hair off and lengthwise wasn't a huge deal because it'll grow back. Had the worst haircut of my life here yesterday. Asked for shoulder length, got chin length. Chopped off basically 6 inches when I asked for 3 - stylist started from the back of the head with my chin down so I had no idea how short she was cutting until she got to the front and I wanted to SOB. Now I look like the berries and cream boy from the early 2000's lifesavers ad. Ends are not even either. Was too shocked to say anything in person but what were they going to do? Put my hair back? It'll grow back but was an utter waste of money and time. Heartbroken. read more

First of all, when we do get in to get our hair cut, the stylist does a good job. The long waits (90 mins or more) were understandable during covid (we ended up cutting our own hair at home). Now it continues and there always seems to be either two stylists or one is out to lunch. We are always asked if we made the appt. through the app. The app is not available if you look on their web page and it says they take walk-ins. From our experience in the past, we'd go in, find out how long the wait would be and if it wasn't too long, we'd wait and get our hair cut. It's been awhile since this has happened. I started going here about 6 months ago, and I had some nice looking cuts for a great price. I had a person cut my hair more than once, and she did a phenomenal job, seriously best cut I think I've ever had. Until last Friday. I checked in online and had a one hour wait. No problem, got there and checked in, and my regular person was just finishing up. To my surprise, she went to the back room and the other person took me. I mentioned that the first had done my hair before and I loved it. She asked if I wanted to wait for her, I asked how long? She told me about an hour or so, as she had to run some errands and go to lunch. I so no, it's just a trim anyway and she started cutting. I had already explained I loved the style and just wanted to trim it up. She completely changed the style, but within limits so that she could fix it. Apparently I made her mad when I pointed it out and asked her to fix it because she just started hacking on my hair. I wish I was kidding, but I finally panicked when she lobbed 2 inches off the side of my already short hair, and I asked her to stop. She never asked if she could fix it, she only said "I'm sorry I didn't do what you wanted." I paid and left in shock. I'm not even to the worst part yet: I went next door to Rite Aid for about 10 minutes, and when I returned to my car parked in front of Great Clips, the person whom I had been told was going to be gone for at least an hour was gone for about 20 minutes, and had started another client. Why was I lied to? Not quite sure. I called the corporate office and told my whole story and was told it would be passed on to the franchisees, but that was Friday and this is Wednesday, and I haven't heard a word. Do yourself a bigger favor and find somewhere else to get a cut. Update: 4 months later, and I haven't heard a word from the franchisees or the parent company. Never again in my book. read more

I hate finding someone you like and can cut your hair and you look forward to getting your hair cut by the same person then finding that she has moved on to another location after cutting your hair for over a year. Great COVID plan, but stylists do not follow it. 16 minute check in time became 1 hour 20 minutes when 2nd stylist hadn't come back from lunch after 1 hour, 10 minutes. Listen, don't wait in your car until 5 minutes of your check in time! Go inside and wait. Stylists take customers on the order they come in the door, not when they checked in on line...bad! No COVID questions asked to filter positives. I've been a customer here for years, but on June 22, the customer service with one stylist, Rebecca, was unacceptable, and COVID had nothing to do with it. read more

I went in last Saturday to get a haircut. Employees were bickering at each other about other employees who showed up late. The woman who cut my hair missed alot of spots and I get a buzz with a 1 all the way around,,,,how can you mess that up? Also I got a shampoo after and walked out of there with shampoo in my ears and not rinsed on the back of my head. I will find a better place to cut my hair in the future. read more

We went to Great Clips for my 5 months old baby girl and for my husband's haircut. We had waited for 30 to 35 minutes. We told the barber lady that It's her first haircut and make her bald, according to our rituals. My husband sat in the chair and my 5 months old baby was in his lap and again we mentioned to her that it's her 1st haircut, please be gentle. But in the middle of the haircut, she started crying, in fact, she was screaming. My husband asked for 2 minutes so I could calm her down. She blew up on us and became so rude. She said you need to hurry up and other customers are waiting. I am getting late. Again I asked for 2 minutes but that rude lady said I am not gonna cut her hair, make the payment and leave. I could not believe that. I said you can not do this to a baby, you can not leave her hair like that but she did not listen. She went inside and did not show up. We had the horrible experience at that salon. My family will never visit that salon again. I wish I could upload the picture. read more

This place is terrible. If you want a good haircut ,go to a better barber. The service is horrible, they're just rushing through you to get a new customer. I went there once, as they were rushing through my hair, the barber (Marisa) cut into my ear, I felt a slight pain, but I thought it was just the trimmer passing by. She knew it was bleeding but didn't even speak a word about it. After paying, I noticed my ear was bleeding quite badly, I complained to one of the barber there, they didn't do anything nor did they apologize. It's just terrible, I regret going there, I swear to god I'll never go to that place again. read more

The absolute worst haircut I have ever gotten in my life. It was so bad I had to go to another salon to have it recut. The stylist actually agreed with me and said in her exact words "oh my God, who cut this". That stylist was a gem and it looks much better but extremely short. Its going to take weeks to grow out. The stylists at Great Clips need to go back to school or actually go to school to learn how to cut hair. They should also check credentials of the people they hire. read more

I use to spend a lot of money getting my hair cut. But after going to Great Clips in King City for two years, I don't have to! I get my hair cut expertly by Megan. We have changed styles too. Megan is amazing. I sign in from my phone and when I get there, it's less than a 5 minute wait. It's a great place to get your hair cut. It now takes me no time at all to style my hair in the morning. I would recommend Great Clips in King City to everyone!! read more

I went to Great Clips for the deal they had, any haircut for $7.99. Mind you, I have always gone to a salon so this was my first time at Great Clips. My goal was to trim the ends because I have split ends but while I'm waiting, I glance at the magazine rack and see a hair magazine. I see the style I like [a style that I usually work with] and upon request the barber said no. She explained why it wouldn't work and all I kept thinking was "why did it work for the model? Why can other salon specialists work with the hairstyle except you?" So I dropped it and just told her my goal, to trim the split ends. She replied that she needed a specific measurement, e.g. and inch, a half an inch, etc. Last but not least, I requested advice on hair dyes and she said she could not help me because she did not use anything but salon colors. No, the upside is that she had a positive attitude, so she was all smiles when telling me no. Next time, for future reference, I don't want to hear no! I want to hear solutions.
