She was warm, welcoming, and incredibly sweet, especially considering how packed the place was with folks getting cleaned up for Easter Sunday. I went in to get my bangs evened out, and instead of doing that because she actually did quite the opposite and made them very crooked, melissa thought it'd "be so cute!!" if she cut my baby hairs that it took years to grow out, and she cut them as it was too late to say anything. all while i was telling her my horror story from my last haircut, how the lady grabbed a piece from the back of my head and cut it like a bang. she made things so much worse. i quite literally hate myself right now. i can't put them behind my ears, i can't straighten them because the curls are so strong, and when my hairs up they fall down and look stupid like i was put through a wood chipper. so thank you, melissa. for that crappy oil you gave me to put in my hair to weigh down the hair you shouldn't have cut. ps you shouldn't brag about how you're so much of a better hairdresser than real salons, if you can't realize that you're not supposed to cut thick curly hair super short that now requires a constant headband, oil, hairspray, and bobby pins. Hello, I was referred to Daytona at Great Clips on Fairway in Roseville. Daytona cuts my daughter's hair. My daughter is very picky. She loves the way this stylist cuts her hair. So I was anxious to go. I've paid $2-300 for cut and color at various salons in our area. While I've had good results with coloring, I've had terrible luck finding someone who can actually provide a good haircut. My hair is fine, medium length, slightly wavy. Today was my first time seeing Daytona. She did a wonderful job on my hair, both shampooing and cutting. She did exactly what I asked. I FINALLY found my person!! Some woman with a European accent came to the counter from the back. She was still chewing whatever she was eating. I needed a neck trim, I figured it was safe to go to great clips. Trimmed the neck, not even close to straight. Wasn't offered a mirror, so I requested one. Called her out on it, and she attempted to straighten it. Round 2 and it was still crooked. She asked what was wrong, I told her it was crooked. She offered to try again and I declined. Paid, and then left. I would never go here for a haircut, I figured any haircut place could handle a neck trim. I sure learned a lesson today. read more

I came in yesterday and an older lady with long blonde hair helped us and his hair is so badly done I have to take him to a professional barber today. Ok, so here comes the mixed review..... I came here so my daughter could get a fresh haircut before school started. The girl who cut her hair was wonderful. She took off a few inches, gave her some layers... it was a really beautiful cut. I, on the other hand, have not had my hair cut or colored in a year and a half. My hair WAS down to my butt in length and all the way here I contemplated if Great Clips was the right place for me... Finally, I figured-who can mess up a trim? Even if 3 inches came off, I was going to be ok with that. So the girl with dark dark hair and tattoos called me up and I sat down. I told her how nervous I was, how I wanted to keep the "V" shape cut and layers. I also wanted it cleaned up, so we agreed on 3 INCHES. WHAT A DISASTER. SHE BUTCHERED MY HAIR. It looked like a short hair cut with really long hair undernea5, or bad extensions. She tried telling me how "good it looked wet"??? ARE YOU SERIOUS? I DON'T WEAR MY HAIR WET. The girl who cut me daughter's hair came over to fix what she could. Then, they let me walk out like that. I got home, messed with my hair to see if it would look any better if I straightened it...NO. It was so bad, it looked HIDIOUS down, so I put it in a pony tail... it looked just as bad! So I called the next day. Spoke with Becky. She was great, apologized and got my number to a manager asap. They called about a day later, offering to let one of their top stylist wash, dry, and cut and style my hair to fix the damage. THANK GOODNESS for KEVIN! 5 STARS FOR YOU! He agreed that who ever did my hair did a hack job (maybe not realizing the girl that did it was right next to us). The girl who BUTCHERED my hair wouldn't even look at me. I came here a couple weeks ago with my fiancé. He always gets his hair cut here and I needed a trim so I decided to do mine as well. I was with Laura. At first she seemed nice enough, but then she would have moments of passive aggressiveness with weird underhanded comments. Such as commenting how she didn't like how light my ends were, how damaged and fried my hair was (I don't use heat on it at all so I might have needed a trim but they definitely weren't "so bad" as she said), how when she used to do color all anybody ever wanted was ombre and it was so boring (my hair is ombre ‍), how fine my hair is (it's not), how she was so happy to be getting off a lot of the blonde ends. She would have moments where she would probably realize she was being aggro and try to give me tips on stuff but I was very nice and polite the entire time and it seemed like she had some issue with me for whatever reason. I asked for a V-shaped cut. My hair was kind of in this style already but I told her I didn't mind if she cut more off the front to achieve the look I wanted, as long as it was tapered. I showed her pictures that I will post. She commented that this style is so hard to do because most of the time in pictures the girls have extensions. My hair is 3 ft long, longer than any extensions so not sure what the issue is. When she was done with the cut she gave me the mirror but my hair was wet so she said once it dries I will be able to see the cut better. It looked a little strange but I decided to wait until it was dry. Later when I got home I could see two visible "steps" of hair on my left side instead of a smooth, gradual increase in length. I took pictures of it and they speak for themselves. I contacted customer service, they told me the franchisee owner would get in touch with me. Didn't happen. Contacted CS again, told them I had no response from the owner. STILL have not heard from them. I will not go there again, a two year old with plastic scissors could have done a better job. Good for my easy haircut. I have a pretty standard short cut so it's not a tough cut. They do a good job on it here. I say a good job not great. There is a difference from here to when I go with the wife to her hair stylist or my favor cutter. A bit less attention to detail and just not the clean finished look. Still, I have been coming here for years on and off when the other places are packed. The service is friendly and they move pretty quickly so it works. This is the worst place to take your family or anyone for a haircut. My son left this place bleeding on one ear. Makaela, the hairdresser that was supposed to cut his hair, snipped my son's skin with the razor when doing his haircut. He is 11, and can sit still when having haircuts. When he got hurt, Makaela placed a band aid on his ear and told me nothing about the incident. It was like she was trying to cover it up. I found out that this fiasco happened when I arrived to my house and my son told me. I called the same Great Clips I went to and asked for the manager, and Sonya, a worker there says "the assistant manager" got my call and told her about it. She assured me that she would inform the manager and call me back the next day but they didn't call me back. So I called them, and another hairdresser picked up the phone saying that no one, neither the manager or the assistant manager was in today, and the manager is on vacation for a week, and hung up on me. I wouldn't ever recommend this place to anyone. Beware, they do not take responsibility for their actions, bad customer service and horrible haircuts. If I could rate this place with zero stars I would. This place should be closed up, and their hairdressers should be the "professionally trained" hairdressers they advertise that they hire. read more

Its Actually "0" Stars but thats NOT an option. I've taken my Granddaughter here for a hair trim 3 times. First time amazing but I dont remember her name and I'm sure she has moved on to a much better place (A hair Salon) Second time we got ALLA. Strange as she had my Granddaughter stand the whole time while trimming hair. Also, Had coupon which I stated when I checked in. No problem. This time went in for hair trim and upon check in I stated I had a coupon. The lady said ok we will apply that when you pay. I see ALLA and am hoping its not the hairdresser my Granddaughter gets . It is. This time she has her sit down . Not real friendly as you would expect she would be to a child. Finishes trim which when we got home discovered not trimmed evenly. Go to pay and the cashier is also ALLA. She tells me I can't use the coupon so instead of $8.99 it will be $21.99. I said I have a coupon valid thru June 2021. I said I even called before I came in and mentioned the coupon. She said um its been used. So I said no it hasn't. This goes on and by now 2 other people are looking. She just kept saying $21.99. And saying they have been shut down (which I'm not sure what that has to do with it) so I then asked for the Manager (which I already expected exactly what the next words out of her mouth were) I am the Manager. I said , No you're manager. After that she decided she could do an override after she just told me sorry there's nothing I can do. She said instead of $21.99 I can do $12.99. If I could give negative stars I would. Absolutely disappointed in this place. Took my son in for a cut as he's graduating this week. Lady never asked him what he wanted. Went off his last one that was in the system (last time in this place was several years ago). Wanted a 3 on top and fade into a 1 on the bottom. Ended up with a 2 all over and a 1/2 moon on the neck rather than a straight line. WTF!?!?! Had to take him to the place off of Woodcreek to fix it. *Only go for Adam* I live in Rocklin near the Stanford Ranch location but find myself coming to the fairway location more and more often. I have gone to the other location for my entire 13 years in Rocklin and let me tell you out of all the stylists Adam is the best. This guy is extremely professional he greets you with a handshake and by name. While he cuts your hair he has tons of fascinating stories, the first barber I really find extremely interesting. Pretty funny too. On top of this he gives you the best haircut possible, he conveys how important his own hair to him and that is why is spends so much effort on every haircut. At the end he offers a wet towel to get hair off your face and then gives another handshake and personally thanks you for coming in. If he leaves I probably wouldn't come in to this location anymore, but paired with the easy to use and convenient online check in, I am in and out in 20 minutes, and always leave very satisfied. Overall: Ask for Adam and get an above and beyond experience, otherwise expect the usual good Great Clips job. read more
