I walked in at around 4:45 (sign on the door says closes at 6pm.) and was shooed away by a male inside the store saying they were done for the day. I would hope maybe they will change the sign to reflect an earlier closing time. My wife had come in not to long ago as well and asked for a trim and a fix for her bangs, she sat down and immediately the lady cutting her hair told a guy who walked in that she would be with him in 10 mins. We were a little confused because 10 mins for a ladies haircut seems a little fast (and we were right) my wife's hair was completely destroyed, not even on any side, chopped like a blind person who has never cut hair before. Her bangs were so uneven, as well as the back of her hair. She took a razor to her hair so everything was uneven . We came home and she had to fix the haircut herself. Just got a hair cut there, now scrambling for somebody who can fix the damage if possible. They are probably ok with getting some of your hair shorter. But if your care about your look, just go elsewhere. Leave along smooth transitioning, even making whiskers of equal length seems a tall ask there. What was good is the wait time, that is why 2 stars frankly. My 2 cents is that if you are describing your hair cut with a number, want fast and semi cheap service, or just want something not too fancy for a kid, than you can try it, otherwise look for other options. read more

Usually like this place for hair cuts. This time there was an arrogant hair stylist- Charlotte. Will never go back to her again. She not only did a bad job with the hair cut, but on pointing out that she needed to cut more in places, she wasn't happy to take that suggestion. And then boasting about her degree in cosmetology and how she has given the best hair cut anyone can get and the worst of all-telling things like - how salons in your home country don't have a well educated hair stylist. Have never had any horrible experience due to having short hair majority of my life. Have been growing my hair for well over two years now with the intention to donate it. Looking for a Wigs For Kids affiliate I called the Sammamish Great Clips. To my excitement i discovered they were indeed. When I called back the same day about 6 hours later to inquire more information and maybe book an appointment. I was informed by a different stylist that they had no such affiliation. Questioning politely, if there was the slightest chance she could have been misinformed. She reassured me that the possibility didn't even exist. Now I don't write many reviews. But their main website shows that they are Wigs for Kids affiliates varying by location; which is fine. Except, I didn't once here an apology. Never presented with an alternate option. But most of all, her tone was of just someone upset that the phone had rang. Oh well. I'm assuming that the lady who misinformed me had worked at another location who was affiliated. read more

Terrible 4 minute haircut and poor service! I've a been a customer there for 15Yrs+ and when the greeter asked me to check in she noted they didn't have my name or phone #. The next old white guy, like me, got the same treatment. The staff assigned to me, "Angel", maintained a scowl during our entire brief contact and she seemed to act like she was shearing sheep not cutting a person's hair. Afterwards she ignored my concern about the abrupt service and still seem to think she should be tipped. Bad experience! read more

I've been coming here a long time now and I think Great Clips is indeed "Great". Great Clips has a check in system which I like. When I arrive they ask for my name and I can see where I am in line. I've never waited more than 15 minutes. The hair dresser hears my description of what I'm looking for and even how I want the hair cut done. In my case I only want shears no clippers. They happily complied and even took notes so that I don't have to ask the next time. They do a great job and I'm well satisfied with the look and the price. read more

I just had a great regular hair cut here at Great Clips. I know their rating is not really good but I'm very satisfied. The cut was exactly like I asked for. The two ladies that were running the salon were very nice and seemed knowledgeable. They understood how I wanted my hair cut and didn't need to be reminded. I will definitely be back. Less than a 10 min wait, used the app to see how busy they were. Checked in from the app. Cut done with no fuss. To sum it up. Very good cut, short wait, friendly, got what I wanted. I live really close by and everytime i have come here i do try to give them the benefit of a doubt, but their service terrible. One visit, a lady just started cutting away at my hair without even asking what I wanted. The next visit I asked for layers and all i got was a trim. I returned to ask for a re-cut but they said I had to pay for it. And during my appointment, a male worker went to the back where he LOUDLY make gross bodily function noises - very rude. Hopefully he washed his hands before he touched people's heads...spend your money elsewhere. This place is NOT worth risking your hair and taking a REALLY long time to grow out and repair their mistake. Never had any big issues over the years-- it's almost always a decent haircut by always decent staff for a relatively low price. I see a lot of poor reviews, mostly from several years ago, which I don't believe to be representative of my experiences. The haircuts are quick and generally good if not always great. I see some of the complaints are due to waiting (if they usually did a poor job cutting hair that wouldn't be an issue, right?) Solutions: Use the reservation system, but don't expect it to be perfect, come during less busy times...and be a little patient (or if they're really busy go do other errands until your turn). Some complaints look like communication or cross cultural misunderstandings or possibly rude customers. Don't go there if you're not comfortable being served by them but I will continue to choose them. read more
