I took my four year old here to get a quick trim and fade. I like this place. it's easy and simple. I used a new person, Nghi Trong Quach (big mistake). I mean ... the haircut is nothing fancy. it's simple. He shares a profile with me. I get in, tell the lady my son's name bc he is my profile. It'll have instructions. I told her slight trim and a fade. She asked me 1.5? I tell her yes, on the side but just a trim on the top. I watch her do 1.5 on the sides .... then she took the razor and went up top. it was so fast.... Instinct kicked in... "what are you doing!?" Dumb question right? The deed was done. No need to get irate... The lady pointed at the notes .... i pointed that was for my name and i told her my son's name... I suggested she listen better next time to people. We went here yesterday for my son. It was great that there was no wait. I was the only person in the waiting area who brought something to read (I stood out like a horse at a dog show). The man who cut my son's hair initially approached me because he thought that I came in for a haircut. I kind of need one, and so that was a fair assumption. Haircut: $23. Kids (10 and under) and Seniors: $21. Shampoo: $12. On Mondays, haircuts for kids and seniors are $16.99. There are 9 chairs in the waiting area. They are comfortable enough. The carpet needed to be vacuumed, but I'm understanding because it had to do with rainy weather (some small leaf pieces had been brought in by customers). An employee in the back coughed a few times. My wife definitely noticed too. It was unnerving because the person sort of sounded like they had bronchitis. A regular was around when we arrived. He enjoyed chatting with the woman who was cutting his hair. It seemed like he is always happy to go here (another man who is probably a regular too quickly began chatting with the woman). There are 4 workstations. They don't offer much in the way of privacy (some pictures have been posted by others), but the layout is similar to what you would find at most salons. A wide range of haircare products are sold here. Appointments aren't needed (they're just encouraged by the chain in general, as well as using the Clip Notes feature). The hairstylist listened to my wife well and did a great job with my son (he looked more handsome than normal afterward). The haircut only took about 15 minutes, and the man deserved the $5 tip that he was given. The parking lot is generally chaotic. We were careful while walking here. I recommend this location overall. Worst hair cut experience ever. I'm 36, I don't really care about my haircuts too much, I've gotten simple buzz cuts using only clippers in the past. Maybe the last few years I've changed my haircut a little to have them trim the top and give me a 2 on the side with clippers. I've been to Super Cuts, Great Clips at other locations, Sportsclips, and even had friends cut my hair. This specific Great Clips was the worst haircut I've ever had in my entire life, and I have an assumption of what happened. I go in for a simple trim on top (about 1/2 an inch) and a 2 on the side with clippers. The lady was super sweet but she talked for way too long, and she didn't focus on cutting my hair. The haircut wasn't finished but for some reason she said it was all done, and once I washed my hair it would all be good. I trusted her and when I got home, nope. It was a disaster. A literal UNFINISHED haircut. What happened was I think she started some type of timer and after 25 minutes of her talking, maybe Great Clips management looks at their average haircut time and maybe discipline or fire them based on it? I don't know but this sweet woman ruined my hair. Shes nice, but she's incompetent, and might have left my haircut unfinished due to some average haircut timer they have. That is my guess, I don't know for sure, but I could tell she was rushing me out after she looked at the clock. She talked way too much without focusing on cutting my hair, lost track of time, and I paid for it. I will never go back. As nice as she was, she should probably get fired, and/or great clips need to manage and train people better, as well as get rid of whatever timer they use to monitor their staff. 0/5 stars. Overall, decent haircut. I have been coming here for at least 8 yrs and come every 3 weeks or so. Today, i had Thuy and it was my first experience with her. Clearly her years of customer service are no longer existent. Her hair clips were full of hair and I had to tell her to please clean and disinfect her equipment before she started with my haircut. 1st red flag, she Clearly got upset. I asked her that I wanted my sideburns faded into my haircut. She didn't do it and her excuse was that my sideburns (top half of my ear area) was my beard and that wasn't part of the haircut. (Pic) Umm that is not my beard! She did it after I corrected her but as you can see, horrible. Last thing, I wanted a rinse because I wasn't going home to shower. Her response "We don't do rinses for simple haircuts." Wow... As I was paying she then said we can do the shampoo rinse for $10. It was nice to finally be able to get my haircut after almost a full year due to the virus. I felt like I was back in high school with how long my hair was just looking really grizzly. So I went online and signed up and checked in in 30 minutes later I was in the chair with Amika. With clippers in hand and a comb she gave me one of the best and quickest haircut I've ever had. My normal salon was closed and so I thought how bad could it be if I stopped by this place for a layered trim. Turns out, it was the worst decision I've made this year. My hair is layered all over and so I asked for a layered trim. Somehow I ended up getting a blunt haircut across the bottom with only the old school layer trim in the front. I didn't even realize that my trim was done with the simple fact that my hair was left wet. I was so disappointed in this experience. I hadn't cut my hair in a year so I had ALOT of dead hair. I would say my hair is 13 inches. I've always been weary of people who cut my hair because it takes a while to grow hair! Enough with my babble; let's move on to my experience. I walk in and Jack greets me. He helps set up my appointment in the system (Walk ins Welcome but you might have to wait if it's busy). I was lucky and got seated right away. Jack ends up being my hair stylist. He asked me what I wanted, and showed me the dead hair that needed to be cut. I also told him that I needed bangs and he cut it in a way that my bangs can be styled to the left or right side of my face. He was very professional and gave me the exact cut I envisioned! I've been here once, it was fine. Walked in with no appointment, had to wait about 20 minutes but I totally expected that. Today, I didn't have time to wait so I called ahead. I asked if I could make an appointment for as soon as possible, as I would be there in about 10 minutes. He told me there is no wait and I should just come in. I get there, less than 10 minutes later, and I'm told it's a 15 minute wait. That's just annoying. I have no problem waiting usually, but since I was in a rush today I specifically called ahead. (I would give them zero stars if it were possible.) So, to start of, I'm Black and currently have natural/afro hair. Today I walked in and asked them politely if they could do my hair type, and the nearest employee near me said "no, we only do 'normal hair.'" What is "normal hair?" My hair's not dyed and not chemically altered, so isn't my hair already "normal?" That is pretty racist. I think it goes without saying what he meant... Do not give these people business. If they're true professional hair stylists then they should be trained to do ANY hair type. If they can't, fine. But TRY. I had to walk a "certified cosmetologist" through how to cut every hair as if I hadn't already clearly clarified what I need. Terrible customer service. I'm not sure if it's because of its busy schedule but workers were extremely disrespectful to the customers. I called their customer service and was immediately replied by a rude tone and voice. After I tried my ask my question, they replied with a "no we do not make reservations" and hung up the phone. They didn't ask if I had anymore questions or if I had anything to say. I do not plan on going to this great clips as there is a closer one on E. 14th Street with a probably better customer service. I asked for a v shape in the bottem of my hair and some long layers, my hair was to the middle of my back and I told the guy I wanted to keep the length and only wanted the v shape and layers and nothing else as I was trying to grow my hair longer I now have hair that's a little past my shoulders. This guy chopped off over 4 inches of my hair I was so angry as I didn't realize until he was halfway done I told him many times I didn't want any length cut off and he took the cut into his own hands. Can here twice. Pretty good location with plenty of parking in the shopping center and easy to find right off of 880. The workers are very professional and had great customer service. Each time I came in I was greeted and did not have to wait long. I came in the afternoon between 12-2pm. The shop is well kept and very clean. There is a bathroom located in the rear of their shop. I was very satisfied with my hair cut. They do a quality job and do not take a long time either. I will definitely return for my next haircut. If you come after 3pm or on the weekends the wait might be long. So utilize their app and you can check in then you will get an ETA when it's your turn to help save your time overall. They also keep notes on your previous haircuts. Look out for coupons or sales which they seem to have quite often. In January 2016 haircuts were $8.99. No cash? Then no worries because they accept credit cards and you can even leave a tip on there as well. If you have any coupons be sure to let them know prior to completing your transaction. read more
