I've been to this location 4 times now and each time they get better. They had a rough opening i think and everything has greatly improved. Let me start this review by saying that it is for one hair stylist in particular: Melissa. She's extremely good. I have decent hair, not too thin, not too thick, but it's starting to thin in the back because I'm approaching my forties. Anyway, Melissa does an amazing job with my fade. I point this out because I have had my hair cut by probably 7 or 8 other people at this location, and the quality has varied from haircut to haircut, even when I had it done by the same person multiple times. I've never had a single person who did a great job more than once until Melissa. Every time, without fail, she does a phenomenal job. And it's all in the details. Around the ears, back of the neck, never misses a stray hair. Never a rough patch in the back where the curve of my head makes it a little tricky. Always consistently perfect. I don't even bother to go in to the shop unless I've called and confirmed that she's there. I won't have my hair cut by anyone else, and if she moves on to another shop at some point, I'll follow her there too. Go see Melissa. You won't regret it. read more

I'm not sure what just happened. I asked for a 1/4 inch off, I just got home, washed up and realized that the stylist took nearly 2 inches off my hair. I would pay for her not to cut my hair. I had to ask her to STOP cutting because she was going way to short. At that point she politely explained how she wasn't cutting it shorter but instead using the middle as her guide. But what happens if you continue to trim the middle more and more more?? New flash: your guide becomes shorter. I wasn't going to argue with her so I just paid and got it of there ASAP. Stay away from this place if you just want a clean up. If your hair only requires a buzz or barber style clippers, this review isn't for you.. the only reason I'm giving this location 2 stars is because the tapper on the sides was good. Too bad you cant uncut hair. Update: my hair is now so short, It can't even comb over compared to when I arrived when my hair would comb over with out any hair product. Wow. read more

So I took my 9 year daughter here for a quick back to school haircut and I was totally thrown off by how much I ended up paying. 20 for shampoo/cut & a extra 25 dollars to blow dry! Walked out paying 50$ with tip. Now I've been a hairdresser for many years & my hair cuts include shampoo + blow dry and let's just say it's less than 50$. I brought my daughter because she likes the experience being in a salon and having someone else other than her mom cut her hair. But with this price I should of taken her to a real salon. I cut my hair here religiously for the last 3 years. My go-to is Pamela. I have came to this location and fell in love with her service instantly. She is energetic and always makes me feel welcomed. The ladies are always nice and say hi every time I come in. It is very clean and great music playlist. I have had so many bad experiences when getting a haircut at other places. If you come in, ask for Pamela or Nancy. They will slay your hair and leave you feeling like a million bucks. Will not be going here again.... Really I only take my kids here for their cuts but I feel that these stylist are fresh out of school and/or have graduated bottom of class..... Pam did my hair and I had showed her a picture of what I would like and I even said I didn't want my. Hair as short as the o Picture.... I showed her with my fingers how much to cut and we'll nope she cut way more off and I didnr even notice because my hair was wet... I showed her while my hair was dry so she didn't follow my wants.... Then when she was done she took the cape off me and said I was done... She didn't ask if I wanted my hair dried or styled so I could see the new look I had.... She seemed like she was in a hurry and when it was done I felt. So stupid because I meant to not give her a tip but did.... I was wondering where my kids had gone so I wasn't paying attention... I love going to super cuts in LA Mirada. They do wonderful work always had. I just went to this palce because it was right after work and I had my kids with me ans it was close to home.. I will never go again here.. I have taken my kids to this location freqently and never had a problem before. I recently brought my daughter in for a trim about 2 or 3 weeks ago and discovered she contracted head lice! I was horrified! I know they are busy and see a ton of kids but they need to be a little more cautious with disinfecting their utensils. I can't say for certain if they changed out their combs, hair clips, scissors, or shampoo capes but any of those items could have easily passed the lice on to the next child. Anyhow, I've spent a lot of money on treatments and precautionary treatment for the rest of my family, not to mention the stress of dealing with this. YUCK! read more

Great Clips!!!!! And it's exactly that!!! I came here for the grand opening on Saturday with my 3yr old daughter. I was greeted with smiles and politeness. It was busy but making my appointment was quick, easy and efficient. There is a monitor that displays a list of names in the order of customers ahead of you. This made waiting not seem so bad, especially with having a toddler, I was able to gauge how long. Now it's my turn, Kendall, the stylish came over to get me. She was great with my daughter, patient and accommodating to her needs. I started out with wanting a trim but told her I'm ok with whatever she does. I am generally indecisive with my hair. I had never been there, but I walked in with no knowledge of the great services they offered, like checking in online before walking through the doors. We had a bad experience here; my boyfriend went to get his hair cut and told her to use a 5 on his sides, but she used it on the top. We also asked for a taper which she barely did (maybe because the hair is so short, but still it was not what we asked for). Marcella has bad customer service skills. She was rude from the moment she asked me how I wanted my son's haircut. My son lives with seasonal allergies and has a cough and watery eyes. When I was paying for the service the she made a comment about his cough and how I should have take him to the doctor for his cough. I tried my best not to be rude and explained my son has seasonal allergies and is currently under the car of a medical provider. Driving home my son said he would not like to return. He said while Marcella was cutting his hair she told him stop coughing. I decided to call to and speak with Marcella and the manager. They both sounded insincere and frankly tired. The stylist denied saying that to my 7 year old. Unfortunately I will never know because she told me that I must stay in the front while she cuts my his hair (store policy). I advised her if she is concerned about getting sick that she should wear a mask (like some of her colleagues). Her response, the owners do not provide masks. I'm giving 2 stars because I liked the convenience of their system. I like how the style of haircut is saved in customers profile. read more

Three stars for the price but really should have more personal working or at least a receptionist on the evening. Being that you just grand opened customers come in with lots of questions and that takes the stylist away from the client making the waiting time much longer, resulting in a bad experience...friendly staff but the definitely need receptionist and or a little more sense of urgency. read more

Where do I start. . . We checked in on the app. At first it said 73min wait and checked in anyways. Checked it again about 20 mins later and the wait time was now 10mins. I got my son and rushed over there. We got there and saw that we where 5th on the queue and that one of the stylists was clocking out witch left 2 stylists. In the time that I was waiting a man came in and chitchats with one the stylists ( I think nothing of it) he sits down and waits also. 40mins have gone by mind you the man I mentioned came in just 15 mins ago and not on the list (he is now 5th on the queue). I finally make it to the #1 spot. The stylists calls that guy up skipping me and my son. I called her out on it, telling her I am next. She tell me some bull excuse like he was on the list but was accidentally taken off. I heard the guy tell her earlier he'd take care of her if she slides him in. I get my son and walk out. I was so upset. I walked back to get the # to call the manager. She tell me the other stylists there is a manager. I start to explain the situation but I cut of communication since she was there the entire time and let it happen. They tried offering me a coupon, not going to solve the disrespect. You guys lost 4 customers today. I hope that tip the guy promised you was worth it. FYI, I gave $5 to $10 tips for every one of my kids. read more

A great thing to see since my last visit was that there were way more hair cutters/hair stylists(seriously what do you call them lol)! Now i know its best to use the app to schedule an appointment! I rarely do reviews. But I was so irritated by this place that I felt the need to share. I walked in and was told the wait was 50 minutes. I asked if we could make an appointment for an hour then or put our names down, the receptionist suggested the online check in. I downloaded the app, checked in and it said 54 minutes. I checked back in to the app about 10 minutes later and it said 39. I checked in 10 minutes later and said 52! So I walked back in to figure out why. The girl told me since no one else was in the shop we would be next. Well the online check ins finally showed up. At this point we had waited about 10 minutes. So they took the 2 walk ins. We sat there for about another 20 minutes only for the stylist to finish and decide to take a break and tell the guy that walked in behind us that she would take him when she got back. After waiting for over half hour I brought my son down to Friendly Hills Barber shop, which I should've done in the first place! Walked in, hair was cut and we were out in less time then we waited at GreatClips. The online check in system is crap. read more

I wanted to file a complaint about your new location in Whittier, CA. Me and my wife checked in online as your new to our neighborhood and we wanted try something new. We went online to check in and it said 20mins. We showed up 15mins later and my wife walked in to tell them we are we're here but they told my wife that it would be another 20mins. My wife came out to the car were I was changing our baby and told me the news. I walked in and asked why did we have to wait another 20mins when we checked in online. I didn't get an answer from Kendall and I started to get upset. I explained this was our first time and didn't know this was the procedure for online checkin as I didn't get what the point was to check in if I still had a long wait. Finally Kendall said my wife was next and I would be after her (7mins). I went back to the car to get my kids and my wife went in to get her cut. I came in and waited by the register as there was no seats. The lady I talked to early, Kendall, finished up with a customer and began sweeping hair and then left. Another stylist became free but took another person rather than me. Now I started to get frustrated. Kendall stayed in the back and didn't come out for 30-45mins so I guess she took her lunch. I proceeded to wait 25mins but I was upset now and said screw it I'll get my haircut someplace else. I had high hopes for this place but I will not be back. I'll stick with my little hole in the wall barber that over 20mins away. I only went here as my friend is a manager of Great Clips in Southern California and his location gives great customer service. UPDATE - the owner contacted me directly via phone and apologized and offered free haircuts on my next visit. The manager also fixed my wife's hair as she was not happy how the previous stylist cut her hair. I appreciate the owner and manager for taking care of us as they did. Thank you! read more

This place was ok. The only thing is that they tell you check in online so your appointment will be ready. But when you get there they tell you it doesnt really work or applies to me. I didnt understand that if I am a member and you tell me to check in but it doesnt apply to me, why? My husband and son had a nice haircut. I was cautious about using these chain hair salons but thought I would take a chance. I wanted to cut about 6 inches off and have a bob style. So it would be dramatically different and if its not cut precisely it can look pretty bad. I had no appointment the first time but it was raining so there was no wait. I had Monica..she was great. Listened to my request and I got a great haircut. Second time I went online ( which I suggest downloading the app) and making an appointment. I got Bobbi this time. She was great and very friendly. I took my Mother who is 98 and blind for just a trim. I brought her in a wheelchair. We had come before and were treated nicely. We checked in about 6:45. A woman who I had not seen before showed me a schedule that showed there were 8 people ahead of us. Seeing there were 3 stylists, I said we would wait. After 30 minutes my Mom was getting restless. I asked this stylist when my Mother's turn would be. She said my Mother was next. Then she went to work on this man who had no hair. For 20-30 minutes she ran the electric shaver over his head. She kept going over and over the same areas. This man had a light beard but no hair. We sat patiently. Then this stylist took out a towel and polished the bald man's head. I clocked her at 30 minutes. Then he was done and dropped $20 and walked out. This was the same stylist that said my Mother was next. So I asked her if she was ready for my Mother? She said, "It's time for me to go home." The other two appeared to also be repetitive with their customers. Enough was enough and we walked out never to return. read more

the last time I went to great clips online check-in customers bumped us multiple times. so I decided to do on check in myself. I was given a 25 minute wait time we showed two minutes left checked in in store and was told we would be next when the next stylist opened they decided to take another customer. I asked I thought we were next they stated you are this person just needs a beard trim. We sat and waited. In came to young men. Another stylist open and she took one of them. I asked again I thought we were next. Very rudely she responded well I'm taking him just because you did online doesn't mean you go infront of them. I said it does when your told by the other customer service representative you're next. she said OK well she's almost done she'll take you. Alyssa the stylist took my son he told her what he wanted and also we said it was on the notes from the last haircut but she was clueless. She started cutting his hair. Meanwhile the lady who didn't take us the 2nd time was explaining the online check in to that costumer as I listened. She should have taken us before him and knew that but I believe she had alternative motives. That young man apologized to me. As my son looked to be finished I heard Alyssa tell my son why don't you comb your own hair I walked over because there is no need to be rude to my son and I noticed his hair was still long in spots. I asked her to cut more. She said well I already cut an inch all over. I repeated please cut it again. She cut one spot and said there. I got my son and paid.
