During the remediation and rebuild process, we worked with many different vendors and Rhino was by far the best to work with. They treated us with kindness and respect, communicated well, gave us fair and transparent pricing, clearly cared about the quality of their work, and were always open to any requests and feedback I had in order to make the end result great. Eddie was our project manager, and he was always incredibly respectful and clear in communication so I knew what to expect throughout the project, which helped so much with my piece of mind. We found Rhino after beginning to work with another contractor who lied to us and constantly said one thing but did another, so it made us appreciate the quality of experience we had with Rhino even more. One piece of advice that I would offer anyone who wants to work with Rhino Renovations and needs cabinetry work is that their only preferred cabinet vendor, Laguna Cabinetry, only does custom cabinets and gave us extremely high quotes. We ended up working with Laguna for our living room cabinetry because we needed custom work to match some other pre-existing cabinets, but we did not work with Laguna for our kitchen due to how high their pricing was. The end result of Laguna's work in the living room was pretty good, but in my opinion, not worth their premium pricing. I can't recommend working with Rhino enough, but if the custom cabinetry quote you get through Laguna deters you, know that you are welcome to choose another vendor for cabinetry while still having Rhino run your overall project (because everything other than cabinetry is very well priced). We appreciated that Rhino gave us the option to find our own vendor for the kitchen cabinets to help us stay within the budget of what our insurance would cover. We ended up using Austin Cabinets Direct who gave us great cabinets for a great price, and Eddie from Rhino was kind to be flexible in letting us customize which team did each portion of the kitchen in order to stick within our budget. There were a few miscommunications between Austin Cabinets Direct and Rhino, and I had to do most of the work to be the liaison between the two teams, but in the end, the result was fabulous and very much worth the thousands of dollars we saved compared to if we used Laguna for our kitchen cabinets. I know my review is getting long, but I think Rhino deserves a higher rating than what they have here on yelp, and I can't thank them enough for being the one team I felt I could consistently trust throughout our long and often stressful project! They definitely made our lives easier and made our home look even better than before mold remediation started. We will definitely reach out to them for any future projects!

Blue Diamond did a terrific job…read more We had spoken to many contractors, but too many either did not return calls, or wanted to make cosmetic changes but not fix the basics, or wanted to do work without city permits and inspections. Our small 1958 house needed all the basics. Sewer lines needed replacement, water line needed replacement, interior galvanized plumbing lines needed replacement. Unsafe ungrounded electrical wiring needed replacement. We needed more outlets, better lighting, outside outlets. HVAC was in attic, old, not up to code and ripped ducting. Needed to be replaced and relocated. Roof needed replacement, old aluminum single glazed windows needed to go. Cream shag carpet and ugly hard to clean floor tile (which was on counter and backsplash too) had to go. We needed insulation. A proper vent for the stove. New backsplash and counters, new toilet and sinks. We left our fifties single bath and cupboards to save money. In only a little over two months from start of work, working with city inspectors and all up to code, they took our house down to the bare concrete floors, the ceilings down, the bare bones exposed, and built it back up, new, improved, everything safe and working, and much more beautiful. With a working kitchen and finally a dishwasher and disposal and washer dryer! The bones are 1958 but the house is 2020. Shout outs to Hayk the electricIan, Zach the plumber, David the carpenter, all the drywall guys and everyone else for doing a great job. Max addressed any issues promptly, and was very responsive. The team accommodated us staying on site with the cats, and there were no escapes. Having the in-house Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing made all the difference. Sometimes we had multiple crews working simultaneously. Everyone was courteous and wonderful to work with. The whole house was brought up to code and passed all the needed inspections. and even the inspectors commented on the quality work that was being done. We still have a small, three bedroom one bath house, but it's now the house we dreamed it could be. In fact, we had everyone sign the house as they finished! Quality craftsmanship is an art form, and we are delighted with the results. Blue Diamond worked well with outside contractors, too. To save some bucks, we had Window World do the windows and a neighbor did a great job paintIng. This caused no problems. On time, at budget (yes there were a few unforeseen items that brought it up but nothing serious)). And now we have a beautiful home we can retire in. Kudos to Blue Diamond, one and all! After sending them pictures and…read moregetting a quote I told them I was waiting for a couple more quotes and I would get back to them soon. On October 20th I called back and accepted their quote and asked them if they had insurance and if they could send me a copy of their insurance and they said no problem. It is now November 22nd, I have not heard back from them since. My guess is they didn't want to send me a copy of there insurance, which, as a homeowner, contracting a handyman is a serious problem. I've been hiring contractors at my actual business for decades and I've never seen such incompetence. It seems as if this business has no sense of urgency and clearly doesn't seem to put the customer first.

Everything went fairly smoothly up until the day of the installation of my iron fence surrounding my home. A few days prior to the scheduled installation, I asked the representative if there would be someone supervising the installation who speaks fluent English. He said there wouldn't be anyone supervising because his wife was scheduled to go into labor on that day. He reassured me there would be no issues and the workers would know EXACTLY what they needed to do. I reiterated to him how important it is they install the iron fence low enough to prevent my dog from digging a hole escaping. I reluctantly agreed to proceed with the installation based on his reassurances. The day of the installation, the workers showed up at my door and the first thing one of the workers did was hand me a cell ph and someone with Northwest told me, "Can you tell them where to install the fence" I told him I already went over all this with my rep and I do not feel confident communicating with workers who do not speak English. I ended the call and immediately called the rep and told him that someone needs to get down here and communicate everything we had already went over. The rep came down and told the workers where to install everything. I asked him who I should contact at the office if there is a problem and reminded him what he told me about the workers knowing exactly what they need to do. He responded by saying, "I thought it wasn't an issue to you that they don't speak English?" This was NOT what I stated and told him I only agreed to allow the installation to proceed because of his reassurance they would not need any additional guidance during the installation. Sure enough, after they got started prepping the ground and installing the fence, the gate was being installed too high, leaving a large gap at the bottom, and I tried to communicate this with the workers with no luck. I told the workers to stop completely and, at this point, I was really starting to lose my patience. I immediately called the Northwest office and told them the fence was being installed too high from the ground and how they needed to send someone over immediately or I would be sending the workers away for the day. They sent someone down about 30 minutes later and he communicated with the workers, the proper way to install the fence. I asked the supervisor to stick around to ensure there were no more issues. They 'completed' the installation and they had forgotten to attach adhesive to the caps on the fence posts as well as failing to install the latch on the side gate. They had to return two separate times, requiring me to take time out of my day to be here, to complete the gate lock installation and attach the caps properly. I also started finding pieces of sharp metal in my lawn they failed to clean up which posed a major safety hazard for our family and dog. All of this nonsense could have been avoided if the representative assigned to my project would have scheduled the installation at a time when he could have been present to supervise and inspect the work being done by the subcontractors they hired...

I asked for a change the day before installation which they were able to accommodate and responded much more quickly than expected. The guys that arrived to do the work were incredibly kind and asked my Mom over and over for her approval. She is thrilled. Now we have a functioning railing that looks like it was part of the original house. I am thrilled with the outcome, the pricing, and the process of working with Northwest. I would highly recommend. Our back and front yards were in bad shape from our previous lawn service. Handyman Lawns made them look better than they had in years! They cut the front hedges--and same thing. Those hedges have never looked better. One of front bed looked horrible because of the big snowstorm. It also killed on of our young trees. Tyce came out and made some wonderful plant suggestions. His crew came out the following Monday and gave that bed a makeover. It looks incredible! We absolutely love it! They replaced the dead tree with a pretty crepe myrtle that's already a nice size and looks great. The whole yard looks brand new! It hasn't looked this good since we moved here. I can't say enough good things about this place. Highly, highly recommend.

The lawn service is great. They mowed and cleaned up like almost every other lawn service out there…read morecan do. Where things went south was the communication. He gave me a quote of $35 for every two week mowing. It was suppose to be every Thursday. They mowed that first time, which was on time and looked perfect. Second time wasn't on Thursday, I assumed it was due to weather. They showed up on Saturday without informing me, woke us up on one of our few days to sleep in. Then I let them know after no one had shown up for the third mowing that I would be going with a new lawn care service. Now invoicing, after I let him know I would not be doing another month he asked for an email to send a final bill. I didn't see the original invoice and two weeks later he texted to ask me to pay saying I was two months past due! I let him know I didn't get it so he resent an invoice, then I saw he was charging me $45 per mowing. When I asked he said that's what's on my website and I don't remember quoting you different. Paid the invoice and let him know I'd leave a review and he got upset as you can see in the screenshot. Our builder installed a "Good Neighbor" style fence where the picket panels alternated facing in…read moreand out of the yard. After many months in the home the builder started building the fences in a normal manner where all pickets face the same direction. Contacted HOA and found out policy had been changed, got approval to have our fence changed to normal. Dino came out, took the time to ask questions and understand my goal. Since our fence was only one year old he felt we would need little if any materials. He provided a very reasonable estimate and said it would take 1-2 days. They got here early (7am) as promised, were well prepared, set up all their equipment and got started. His guys were very careful pulling apart the existing pickets and were able to reuse everything. Everything went smoothly and quickly, so they were able to complete the work in 1 day. They packed up their stuff and hauled off the excess materials. Would highly recommend Dino and his team.
