    Hershey's ice cream
    Kathryn J.

We came by looking for some locally made ice cream, and this was a great option. They have a ton of options, including vegan and non-dairy. Some of the flavors are Hershey's, but others are made in house. You can get all the bells and whistles, like waffle cones, milkshakes, and sundaes. We got two flavors of the house made ice cream, and they were both great. The ice cream was rich and creamy. The prices were good too. They have plenty of inside and outside seating, along with parking. Inside has some cool local decor and tons of records on the ceiling. It's a great local ice cream option!

After a disappointing experience the previous day for ice cream in Watkins glen, I was hesitant about trying another. This experience was a lot better, the ice cream was creamy, the combination of the peanut butter sauce and whipped cream was good. I wasn't a fan of the actual "Reese's" it tasted like a knock off brand. Overall a good experience

There are plenty of ice cream shops to choose from in the Finger Lakes, NY region. This place did not disappoint! Cute and cozy, located in a busy town with tourist from Watkins Glen State Park. This shop has 3 types of ice cream - options are homemade, Oatmilk (vegan/ dairy-free), and Hershey"s brand ice cream. If they make their own ice cream, why would a person order anything other than that?! I had chocolate Oreo cookie and Coffee. The coffee was made with locally roasted coffee in Watkins Glen - highly recommended.

Incredible variety of ice cream and treats. I had an amaretto soft serve that was amazing. My husband was underwhelmed by his coffee soft serve, but the kids were happy with their orders. Make sure you ask for a dish even if you get your soft serve in a cone because it will be top heavy and melt over the sides and potentially tip over. They gave Hersheys hard ice cream and homemade flavors, too.

Our K-9 family member besieged us to stop here every time we crossed this store -- which we faithfully did for his puppiccino and then some for the fellow hoomans. Loved all their flavors and the country side feel. Street side with ~4 benches to sit and enjoy or take it all for the road. Perhaps overindulged -but clearly a popular place given the long lines during summer months.

The ice creams are so tasty! If you're in the finger lakes, save up a big appetite and fill that sweet tooth They have all kinds of ice creams -- hard ice cream, soft ice cream, gelato, slush puppies, sorbets flavors.

This place was amazing!!!!!!! Literally every single type of ice cream you could ask for. They had soft serve and gelato and so many flavors!! Everything sounded great! It was very hard to decide what to get! They even had gluten free cones which is unique!! The scoops were also huge!! So fun!!

The vegan ice cream is delicious and smooth! I've only ever had packaged vegan ice creams and Great Escape's home-made vegan ice creams knocked it out of the park. My husband and I got 2 scoops each and the scoops were HUGE! I wish I knew what I was getting myself into before I ordered that. I tried a lavender blueberry coconut milk ice cream while my husband got a chocolate peanut butter soy milk ice cream. They were both super delicious; my lavender blueberry ice cream was just a wild and exciting flavor--it was sweet and tart. The ice creams were soft, creamy, smooth. I wish I had more room to finish it. There were several different vegan ice cream flavors and that was pleasantly surprising. I can't wait to come back and try out more of their flavors. Their Covid-19 precautions were sensible and appreciated. There was a one way line for ordering, and there's no indoor seating or anything. There's a large parking lot right next to The Great Escape. I wish I had known about the place the last couple of times I've been to Watkins Glen; I was missing out! I'll definitely be recommending this place to anyone heading to Watkins Glen.

After not being there for a while, this was legitimately my first stop on campus when visiting. Went straight from the airport and got some scoops. Even on days when the temperature dipped below zero, I found myself wanting ice cream from Dairy Bar when I was a student. Years later, I'm happy to say that the flavors were still as good as I hoped. There are times when nostalgia can carry or elevate a memory of something, and luckily, nostalgia aside, I very much enjoyed my ice cream here. Pro tip for those who might not know: they serve limited flavors of the same Cornell-made ice cream in dining halls. They also serve it during the buffets at Statler Hotel. I love the different flavors, and would eat it at any time of day.

They have really unique ice cream flavors which they sell at their Dairy Bar on campus and distribute to local retailers. The Dairy Bar is a small cafe housed in Stocking Hall, home to Cornell's dairy program. The cafe has mostly to-go items like wrapped sandwiches and pre made bowls and snacks. They also have a grill with a small selection of fresh menu items. And they have an ice cream bar of course with the same flavors as their refrigerated pints. The staff here was friendly. It gets a little crowded around lunch time so plan ahead.

The interior is the same as always, while the available flavors are unpredictable, but a taste makes everything right in the world. Their flavor menu has been updated to indicate which flavors contain gluten and which ones don't. They also now have a protocol for those with strict gluten allergies. This time it was spring, so they didn't have my favorite Jalepeno Popper this time around. But they did have Lavender. For the second and third scoops we got Pistachio, followed by Butter Pecan. As a reminder, they use 14 percent buttermilk, and their ice cream emphasizes FLAVOR over sugar. Despite the high fat content, their ice cream doesn't feel heavy while you're eating it. Take that as a warning, since you might feel it after you consume too much. The Lavender was fantastically floral. The Pistachio was like eating Pistachios. Each flavor is exactly as described. Previously, I had also gotten my coworkers ice cream from here several years prior. Hand-packed into pints, you'll need a serious amount of self-control to avoid finishing them in a single sitting. They've also opened up a location in DeWitt Mall on the Seneca Street side of the commons.

They also have some savory food options if you're interested in that. The ice cream was great, my wife enjoyed the cake batter and her waffle cone and I got the Reese's pieces sundae which was incredible! I got the small and it was way more than enough. Only go large if you haven't had food in 24 hours. The place was busy but we really had no wait at all. The team was working fast back there. Prices are average for ice cream nowadays and I thought portions were appropriate. They have an inside and outside eating area attached to the creamery and there is more outside down the hill where there is extra parking as well. It's nothing special inside but for an overly hot day nice to have. The outside down the hill provides shade so that is nice as well. Either way a great stop for ice cream if you are in the area. Enjoy!

Imagine asking, "What would an ice cream stand be like if it were crossed with a fine FLX winery in a beautiful farm setting?"--that's exactly the vibe here. Elevated, serene, and absolutely delicious. The facility and grounds are immaculate, with a peaceful, pastoral atmosphere that makes you want to linger. The staff was warm and welcoming, and they generously offered samples so we could explore the flavors before committing (dangerous, because they're all incredible). We ultimately chose three flavors: * Cookie Monster (Real Cookies & Cream) -- Their take on cookies & cream is next‑level. It's built on their handcrafted vanilla cream base and loaded with hearty chunks of their own legendary chocolate chip cookies. Think of an ice cream sandwich turned inside out--rich, decadent, and deeply satisfying. * Fleur Bleu -- A gorgeous blend of local organic blueberries, subtle French lavender, and their classic vanilla cream. It's delicate, floral, and beautifully balanced. This one kept us slowing down each bite just to savor the nuance. * Ditch Mint Chip -- Made with hand‑picked fresh mint and dark chocolate chips. Bright, refreshing, and leagues above the artificial mint flavor you get elsewhere. It was excellent, though admittedly overshadowed by the other two standouts. The frozen custard itself is among the best we've ever tasted--rich, creamy, and unbelievably smooth thanks to their signature use of local duck eggs. Even the vanilla base was a sleeper hit, with a depth of flavor you don't expect until it hits you. The setting is perfect for a Finger Lakes outing. Whether you're spending the day visiting wineries, hiking the gorges and waterfalls, or just exploring the region, you need to make this a stop on your route. It's one of those places that elevates your whole day. A truly special spot. We'll be back.

The coconut is very subtle but melds beautifully with the other flavors. You can't tell that it is vegan. I also loved the Java Junction and the Real Cookies n cream flavors. Fleur Bleu had a very strong lavender flavor- it overpowered the blueberry flavor. It was so fun feeding the ducks! They were a bit shy at first but all came out when they realized we had food- just ask for some duck food when you order your custard! There is also a random peacock which was a fun surprise.
