I don't believe they are particularly skilled at pedis. The sides of my big toe nailed were not treated as usual with my ingrown sides situation. This was a very pleasant and relaxing nail spa. I had my lashes tinted and a mani-pedi. The place is tiny but quiet and very relaxing. Tran took excellent care of me. I get ingrown toenails, so that can be hit or miss. But she took her time and was very gentle and did a great job. She was also very careful with the lash tint and they came out great. I've been coming here for more than 15 years and unfortunately the service has really gone down hill. It's incredibly overpriced (it's cheaper for more services in New York City) and the quality is not good. The additional massage they offer as part of add-on service is very bad with no effort and they don't care to make the service special. They used to offer water or beverage and now they don't even do that. I was hoping I was alone in thinking this but my sister and mother also feel the same way. I called and made an appointment for three people at this nail salon. I arrived 15 mins early since this was my first time getting SNS nails. I was excited to try it out but this salon left me very dissatisfied. I was informed during our process that the other two manicurists who know how to do the SNS services were out. There was one main person who rotated between the three of us along with their newbies learning how to do it. My nails were messed up by the untrained manicurist while the experienced one was finishing up another SNS. The newbie receiving instructions in their native language attempted to fix it. It took them THREE times to finally fix the drying problem which involved them sanding the top polish off and applying another layer of SNS product. Apparently, one of them had applied oil which caused my nails not to dry. I was very upset and more so when I was accused of touching them when they obviously did not do the process correctly. The newbie and another associate were obliviously talking about the mess up and laughing, while I was right in front of them. After 2 hours here, I just wanted to leave and was surprised at first that I was going to be charged the FULL $50 cost for a mess up on their end. At the end Cindy did apply a discount for the problem. This morning my nail polish feels heavy and it's rough in places. Overall, for my first SNS experience, this salon totally turned me off. I just got SNS nails for the first time yesterday. Very interesting process. Definitely not as fast as a gel manicure, but the materials are supposed to be a lot less harsh on your nails. Keep in mind these are still chemicals so even SNS isn't exactly "good" for you. ChiChi did an FANTASTIC job taking her time and giving me a great SNS manicure and regular pedicure. What's even more awesome they include a foot/leg massage and callus remover in their regular pedicures. Prices seem market-rate. SNS mani was $48 and regular pedi was $32. Staff in general was all very nice. Cindy offered me refreshments. They also do eyelash extensions, mink and synthetic. I'll be back for those next month and will likely be back for another mani-pedi next time I'm in the area. read more

Had a great first visit to Great Falls Nails + Spa over the weekend. I tried SNS for the first time recently and needed my nails re-done. Thanks to Yelp I found this nail salon in the area that does the SNS "Dip" Manicure (one of very few apparently). Salon: Located in a small office building, very easy to find. Large parking lot They did offer me a drink (looked like they even had some bubbly! ;) Cindy offers a $5 + $5 off referral card so grab one on your way out and bring a friend next time Pedicure: Nice spa pedicure. I forget the woman's name who did my toes, but she did a good job with the polish and great massage Manicure: I came in with the SNS "polish" already on my nails. During my pedicure Cindy started the removal process (similar to Gel with the tin foil, cotton ball, etc) LOTS of color options for SNS - nudes as well as bright colors Cindy did my dip manicure and took really good care of shaping the nails and dip "polish". She did it thinner than the previous place I went, which I really prefer the look and feel of. The edges are really well done and great shape. This will definitely be my go-to place for SNS manicure! I had the SNS manicure done previously at a salon in Arlington, and Great Falls has them beat on quality and price! In general I really recommend SNS over Gel too, no scraping during removal and my natural nails look so much more healthy and not as thin. read more

Today was my first time at Great Falls Nails & Spa. I can honestly say I'm very impressed! The salon is very clean and nicely set up. It was about 10 minutes away from my place in Reston. Very convenient. I never knew they were there - but I'm glad I know now! Hannah is great! I came in for a shellac French manicure. She took her time and I'm in love with my nails. Wow. I made a reservation and when I arrived was told that they had tried to call me but my mailbox was full but I would have to wait 20-30 mins. Ok. I sat down and 40 mins passed and no sign of anyone making any moves to begin filling my basin with water. When I asked why they would book people ahead of me if they knew I had a 3 pm reservation, the woman at the front got snarky and said that they didn't take any other people in front of me. Ok. I get that they tried to call me but if my mailbox is full have you heard of something called TEXT. They could have texted me so I didn't get there so early or made the decision to cancel my appointment as I have my own busy schedule this evening. Really bad customer service, rude, and not professional at all. Then they were going to start my service without even finishing up with the customer they were working on. I don't want to punish a customer by taking into their time to cover their inability to schedule appropriately. So I got up to leave, and then the lady at the front actually thought I would consider returning by offering me a coupon. Seriously? I am never coming back here again and am going to make sure I tell all my Mclean/GF -no make that all my DMV acquaintances- to never come to this establishment. read more

Expensive for sure (it's $55 normally, 20% off if you're a new client), but they did a wonderful job so you're definitely getting what you pay for. I would highly recommend, especially if you feel like treating yourself! DD specifically really listened, and gave me exactly what I asked for. Do NOT consider Great Falls Nail & Spa! This SPA should NOT be in business. I believe the owner to have a sadistic demeanor and here is why. I took my mother out for a girl's day outing to include lunch and a SPA appointment. The owner of Great Falls Nails performed the most painful pedicure and manicure on my mother (she is 80) but appears much younger. Instead of removing the polish with foils she soaked my mother's fingertips in the solution - my mother explained after some time that the solution was burning her hands and the owner ignored her. While her hands were soaking, she worked on her feet - cut her cuticles to the point where they bleed. It was obvious that my mother was in pain and kept wincing and pulling back her feet. It gets worse: Finally, when it was time for the polish on her finger nails (dipping powder) the owner appeared agitated and was very rough with my mother while sanding her nails, my mother did not want to continue with the appointment. My mother (who regularly gets SPA services) just moved into the Great Falls area thus the reason we tried a new SPA. It is important to note that during the whole time the owner was on the phone making other cancellations/appointments. In summary: The owner obviously does not respect older people and did not care that she was hurting my mother. To try to protect other people from this experience I will be posting this review in as many sites as possible. read more

Worst waxing ever with Cindy. Stay away. Made an appointment and showed up on time. I should have known not to go through with the service when she was in the middle of a pedicure and asked the gentleman to wait. She started putting wax on my eyebrow and was very rough, poked my eyeball several times. As she got to the second eyebrow, I asked her if she was rushing and she said no. Again, she was very rough and made me very uncomfortable and I'm not talking about the ripping the hair out part. She did my lip and I could feel was on the bottom of my nose. I asked her why and she did not have an answer. Again, I asked her if she was rushing and she said no. When she was finished, I looked in the mirror and she had taken at least half of my eyebrows off! When I got to my car, I was very uncomfortable and went back in to get my money and tip back. She asked me to pay for the lip wax and not the eyebrow wax and I agreed. When I got home, I realized that she burned the area on my nose. Never go here for waxing! read more

I have been coming here for years and have never had any issues until this past year. The other day I came in and was getting a fill on gel acrylic I already had on, she was already confused and asking what was on my nails which I was very confused about because it is a commonly known technique and have never received this question, so after being told the original lady who was supposed to do my nails did not know how to do a fill I then was told to wait 15 minutes and someone would be with me. Well this went on for about an hour, when I finally had someone start working on me she was extremely rough with my cuticles, it took another two and a half hours just for this fill because she was constantly taking phone calls, bouncing around to other people. The lady doing my moms nails didn't know how to do Dip and it didn't dry correctly so after four hours her nails were never finished (no too coat, not dry) and we walked out. Two days later and my GEL POLISH is chipped and peeling off. Never have I ever had this happen in all the years I've been getting my nails done. So disappointing! read more
